A really nice and well designed place, to have such a nice closed off outdoor dining area within pandemic times like this is an absolute rarity and really does give this place an nice ambiance. With that said there are some things that fell short for me for this establishment. I ordered the beat mazeman, spicy miso ramen, yuzu green tea and peach soda at this place. The drinks were both really nice, the green tea yuzu was tasty, and could really taste the yuzu with hints of green tea which I really enjoyed. The beat mazeman was okay, quality was there, but other than the novelty of the vinegar and the rice being combined to it in the end nothing about the dish really stood out to me, it basically tasted like a combo of soup less ramen and was reminiscent of a bibimbop with all the combinations and mixing of sauce. Wasn't a fan at all of the spicy miso ramen, really was not pleased by the soup base which has this strong mushroom / shrimp taste to it, the taste overpowered the dish and really did not allow for me to taste anything else going on with the item. The final kicker was when I got the bill, it came out to a total of approximately 65 dollars for the 4 items. The beat mazeman, which was 19 dollars, really left me feeling like this place wasn't worth the money due to the high premium on an item I only thought was average in addition to the Spicy miso ramen which I personally did not enjoy. Definitely go on a Monday, I didn't know they had mazesoba Monday deals but they do every maze was $12 such a steal. I got the Beat Mazesoba their signature which is a combination of shoyu and Yuzu with both ground pork and pork belly. The waiter was really kind and taught us how to eat the dish since it's our first time. After ripping up the seaweed and mixing in the egg, the first bite was glorious. A umami bomb was in my mouth you can taste the pork, the arugula, the egg and noodles. As you eat you add some vinegar as you go and it adds so many different dimensions to the dish. I've never had food that is remotely similar to the food here at Beat Mazesoba. Came here a couple of times and always find myself ordering the beat mazeman - a combination of the Regular and Shoyu Mazeman. The flavors are so intense yet balance each other out perfectly. I also really like the banh mi fries as an appetizer. The drinks are so yummy! I haven't had any alcoholic drinks, but I had a white peach soda and it was excellent. Speaking of friendly & attentive service - I had eaten here with my friend a couple of days ago and accidentally left my take-home box at the table. Our waiter actually ran after us to give us our leftovers. I just thought that was an extremely kind gesture. If you're a noodle lover I highly recommend this place. I loved the toasted ciabatta bread that came with it. We just couldnt stop dipping into the broth and eating it. The crispy wings were delicious. The roast pork slices were huge and the char on the meat really takes it to another level. Also the runny WHOLE egg was a nice touch, instead of most places giving you half an egg... I highly recommend trying the Mazesobas since they are savory and very tasty, my personal favorite being the Curry Mazesoba since I love curry flavor. After finishing the initial meal, throw some of the extra rice in there so you don't waste of the flavor. They also got some awesome local beer from Finback which is a Queens Local. One of the best restaurant experiences I've had in a while. Food was delicious and service was good. The shoyu mazesoba was super flavorful without being overpowering or too salty and the noodles were cooked to a perfect bouncy texture. I might even go so far as to say that I prefer this version of ramen (brothless) over the soupy counterpart. I loved the small portion of rice given as well. It mixed very well with the leftover sauce and ground meat. It was almost like a whole other meal that was equally delicious. I was surprised that the rice with the leftover sauce didn't feel too heavy either. Portion was good. Price might be just a tad pricey but worth it for how tasty the meal was. The shishito peppers also made a great light appetizer. All in all, I can't wait to come back to try the other dishes! I have a feeling I will be going over the whole menu. :D read more

Fish taco was flavorful and chicken karaage could be a little bit more crispy, but it was juicy and delicious. Shoyu mazesoba was something that I tried first time in my life and it's so GOOD!! I had the Beat Mazemen with Nigori raw sake. The best way for me to describe mazeman is ramen without broth. The bowl is filled with noodles, a soft boiled egg, arugula, seaweed, scallions, ground pork, pork cubes, and more. First, do you eat the noodles and some of the other ingredient. Once you finish the noodles, then you add in the rice to finish up the other ingredients. The pork cubes or my favorite ingredient. But as long as you expect to taste fish broth and not bone broth, the ramen itself tastes good. It only has a mild kick of spiciness so it was great to slurp on a cold winter day. Came here a couple weeks ago for dinner on a weekend. We ordered bahn-mi fries, beat mazemen and spicy miso raman. Highlight of the meal was hands down the Beat Mazemen!! It was soooo good! You can eat it as is at first, then add in vinegar towards the end to change up the flavor. And once you finish your noodles, add in the small bowl of rice that comes with the raman and soak up the rest of the meat sauce. I'm extremely excited to have a soba place open up in my neighborhood. I came on a Sunday night at approxiamately 7:30 pm. The place was crowded but tables were leaving so we didn't have to wait. The restaurant has outdoor seating both in the front and back of the restaurant. In the front there were 3 tables for 4 people spaced apart with plants in select places to create more privacy. How have I not yelped this place yet?!?! We've eaten here at least 4x and soon to be more. The food IS SO GOOD. Yuzu Shio Mazemen is my go-to - the noodles and poached egg are perfection that only gets better with the arugula and perfectly roasted pork that accompany it. The chicken nanban and Kara-age are both great too and the lotus root pickles are pretty as well as delish. The team here are lovely too. They are warm and welcoming and just the right amount of attentive. The yuzu matcha iced tea is the perfect match to this food too. It's hard to describe so just try it. New ramen spot on northern Blvd! They have an automatic temperature scanner in the front and they take down your information for contact tracing. Staff had masks on and sanitizer was provided on the tables. Came on a Saturday, couldn't do rsvp but it was first come first serve. Around 7 we were able to be seated right away, and since it was a little chilly we opted for indoors. They also have the option to sit outdoors in the heated patio! They did COVID waivers and temperature checks in the front of the restaurant. All the inside dining tables were spaced apart. I was with a group of 6 people and we were seated promptly. The waitress we had was super friendly and recommended her favorites from the menu. The beat mazeman was very flavorful but there was an overwhelming amount of sauce. Because of all the sauce, the mazeman was a bit salty. The pork was very delicious though! We also got chicken nanban to share at the table. The fried coating was crispy, fresh, and thin! However, the sweet and spicy sauce on it kind of tasted like sweet chili sauce from a bottle. I would have probably preferred the chicken kara-age which is just the fried chicken without the sauce. I personally got the sukiyaki don which was a beef rice bowl. There was an overwhelming amount of tofu and the rice was very lumpy and watery. Also, there was only a small amount of beef. For $19, I would expect more meat in my entree. Overall, the service and the cleanliness of this restaurant is top notch! There was a temperature check at the door with a sign in and since they were renovating the back, we sat in front of the restaurant outside, but enough to be away from people walking by. Instead of your usual lemon wedge to squeeze, this place actually serves it with a calamansi wedge, which really brightened the dish! A step up from your usual kara-age. The beat mazemen had my favorite style of noodles and it gets so creamy after you mix it with the poached egg. Bonus is that you also get a half boiled egg as well! The chasiu was also perfectly seasoned and charred. Not too salty and dry. I did wish that the noodles had a stronger kick of flavor somewhere, either a little spicier (I did add more spice powder on top) or a tad more savory. I think mixed together it can taste a little subdued but everything works together well. The arugula was a little overpowering, but other than that, I really enjoyed the mazemen! The kids size gyudon was also good, nothing super special there. The waiter was super nice and came to check up on us to refill our waters. The presentation of the food and everything was also beautiful. It's kind of like a restaurant you'd encounter in Manhattan but in my neighborhood.
