I've seen this place on Yelp and always wanted to try. Service: awesome service, the waitress was super friendly and helpful when it came to answering questions. Food: We ordered dumplings and they were so yummy and juicy! As for the noodles, we ordered the fish soup, and beef hot and spicy noodles. I felt that the noodles were a little bland, and not as much flavor as I'd like. The noodles were nice and bouncy!!

Great place for tasty noodle soup! We tried the Beef Noodle Soup and the Lamb Noodle Soup. They provide a decent amount of food, with a big bowl of soup and lots of noodles and meat. The taste of the soup was a good standard for what I would expect in Flushing. The service was great. The server was very personable and we talked about the basketball that was showing. The interior of the restaurant is nicely decorated and kept very clean. This is definitely a place I would come back to try more items from their menu.

The food was just overly salty and greasy with no significant tasty flavor. Their most famous dish the beef mifen was disappointing. The soup base was just salt water flavor, beef had kind of a smell, and the pink radishes didn't do anything at all. The dumplings are a good price but the chili oil and sauce they give are cheap and don't have the same flavor I get from other restaurants. Kind of watered down and sour. Just would avoid in my opinion. Paid over 20 dollars for food that doesn't even taste delicious.

Was just around the area to find something to eat for lunch on Sunday around 12PM. I was hungry and I saw this newly design restaurant , I thought they renovated the old restaurant. I walked in and found out that this is a new restaurant and the previous dumpling shop was out of business. There were only 4 rectangular tables and 2 other tables on the glass window. The menus was displayed on the screen on top of the counter. I was expecting to be very busy but there were only 2 costumers. I guess this is too far away from Main St and no one want to travel all the way here to try it unless it is extraordinary. Beside there are couple similar restaurants around the Main St. This place is self serve so don't expect too much from the servers. I ordered the beef mifen (direct translate rice noodles), it was good. The price on the menus is tax included and my beef mifen came out to be $7.99. The general construction of their noodle soup is noodle with sour cabbage and sour daikon and the meat(depend on which one you order). The favor of the soup is a bit bland so I added their spice on the table. Just an reminder, don't put too much random stuff when you don't know what is it. I learn it a hard way and put too much of their spice then my tongue got numb. Overall it was okay. I will come here again if I am around the area.

My bf really bowled me over at first. Now it's all I can do not to nood off when we're together.

If I were to ever write a love letter to a bowl of noodle soup, the hot & tangy beef beauty from here would be the one to inspire me. You see, I need the object of my affection to have flavor and lots of it. I need it to elicit feelings of passion and desire. And okay, I need it to make me laugh, though that may be pushing it with a bowl of soup: To back way the f**k up, I recently had the indescribable pleasure of trying this spot's beef mifen soup for the first time. Mifen, by the way, apparently means rice noodles. Anyway, from my first slurp, I was a goner. I don't know what was in the broth... Ginger? Star Anise? Tangerine peel? Chiles? But damn, it was heady! It was packed with fork tender beef, baby bok choy, plus various fermented veggies, and topped with tons of cilantro. At first glance, the rice noodles looked like spaghetti, but they were slippery and uniquely chewy. In relative Flushing terms, this small, fast casual eatery is downright posh, boasting a handful of tables and if I am remembering right, a restroom! It's a bit off the beaten path in terms of location, but is near Star Bakery, which I'd recommend for its sesame balls and egg tarts.

I can't remember the first time I visited. I do remember I was trying to find beef noodles after my then favorite spot started using more and more inedible bits of beef. This place was not serving your typical beef noodle soup; the flavors were a nice mix of spicy and sour with a dash of picked vegetables and plenty of broth, beef, and noodles. Also, they used rice noodles instead of wheat. Thinking of their noodles usually leads me to give them a call for pickup. But the real reason I'm reviewing this place after all these years is that I thought they had closed 2 months ago. I guess you don't appreciate something until it's gone. To my delight, I stopped by last week and they reopened; they were only temporary closed for renovations. While the price has gone up to a little over a sawbuck, the unique taste is still there. I do think the flavor is a little more overt now, with a lot of beef flavor in the broth and fewer notes of pickled and sour vegetables, but it's still very good. Also, the decor is a step up. They even added TVs on the wall if you're visiting alone.

This is my go to place when I get off work sometimes. Nice warm broth, smooth noodles with a nice bite to it. Not soggy. If you like cilantro, this is the place. They mostly speak Chinese but will work with you. Just point at the pictures of food that you want. Spicy seasoning is on the side, add if you want. I usually order the beef. Not crazy about the seafood version, but that's just me. I that they open early for the morning crowd.

Short and simple menu but I wish the English was translated better instead of having terms you'd have to go. It's not as spicy as you'd think perfect balance of meat and flavors.

Mutton of Skin Vermicelli (No cilantro)
    Shawn C.

My favorite dish here is probably the Mutton with the Skin Vermicelli, followed by the stewed beef as a close second. The soup has a tanginess that really cuts through the fattiness of the mutton and ughhhhhh I'm drooling just thinking about it. If it's your first time trying Guizhou noodles, get the vermicelli as it's chewier than regular rice vermicelli. And stick with either the regular mutton or the beef, as the Pickled Pepper/Red Sour soups might be sour overload. If you enjoy tripe, their braised tripe is also really good, since they add that spicy sauce to it. If only the restaurant was closer to the station, I would go there every week for sure. PS: The mutton has bones in it, if you don't like bones, don't get it. Personally I love eating meat off the bone but whatever floats your boat.

This is definitely the my new favorite spot in Flushing. I was drove to flushing to visit my friend and it was so late, I saw a newly renovated place and it kind of stand out in that street. The owner recommended the Beef Mifen and sesame pancake. I was soooo gooood, the beef was very tender and chewy, the broth was well balanced between just the right amount of sourness and spiciness. To be honest , I was never a big fan of Mifen, after trying that dish I changed my mind. I also gave the owner five star as well since he is supper nice and explained the ingredients to me very patiently. Highly recommended! Definitely go there try out the tons of flavor Mifen!

So delicious. Sour and spicy. Large portion as well. The noodles are so soft and perfectly cooked.

    Pepper beef noodle
    Jennifer C.

This place definitely hits the spot for delicious noodles. The beef pepper noodles were really tangy and spicy, but not overwhelmingly so. They added some sour radish and chilli sauce so the whole broth was spicy tangy and delicious. The beef noodles were milder but still good.

We walked into a casual space that fit the style of food, with the main focus being on freshly made noodles, flavorful broths, and hearty dishes. The dining room had a practical, no-fuss energy with a steady flow of customers coming in for a warm bowl, and the open kitchen gave us a view of the noodle pulling process that added a layer of engagement to the meal. The Lanzhou beef noodle soup is the main highlight and the dish that defines the restaurant. We ordered a bowl and found the broth with a rich, savory flavor and a good balance of spices, while the hand-pulled noodles had a satisfying texture that made each bite enjoyable. The thin slices of beef added another layer to the dish, and the chili oil gave the soup extra depth without overpowering the original flavors of the broth. Beyond the noodles, the lamb skewers were another standout item, the meat tender and well seasoned with a smoky grilled flavor that paired nicely with the noodle dishes. The menu also included other options like braised beef noodles and lamb dishes, giving us a few different ways to experience the flavors of Lanzhou cuisine. Service was polite and the overall experience felt relaxed. The restaurant has a straightforward setup, making it a good option for a casual meal, and the ability to customize the meal depending on whether we wanted something lighter or more filling made it easy to adjust the order to our preferences. The staff moved through orders with efficiency, and the food came out hot and well assembled. Overall, DunHuang Lanzhou Beef Noodle is a solid spot for anyone craving authentic Chinese beef noodle soup. The combination of flavorful broth, freshly made noodles, and well-prepared meat dishes makes it worth visiting. It is a simple concept done well, and a place we would return to when looking for a comforting bowl of handmade noodles.

Took me a second to realize as I just stood there. Solid stop in our Flushing food journey

Wow! We came 15 minutes before opening and there were already people trying to see if they were…read moreopened too. When we actually went in when the place opened, the place was packed with a high turnover time of people eating and leaving. There are 4 tables of about 4 people each and people would sit with strangers like a food court. There is a kiosk where you can order as well as a cashier to take your order. I've had their beef hand pulled noodles before, but today I tried the Mt Qi Pork Spicy and Sour Hand Pulled Noodles with Soup and it was delicious. I did the least spicy since I cannot tolerate spicy very well and it was perfect. The broth and meat is very flavorful and pairs great with the noodles. As for their drinks, they have 3 main ones: sour haw, chrysanthemum, and Jasmine. I love how the drinks are not that sweet and is very refreshing after eating the spicy noodles. I see why there are two locations in Flushing. The one is Tangram is more spacious with more seats so better during busy hours!
