A little Fever Tree pop up where they offered samples of their zero-proof beverages with Instagram ready backdrops and a DJ pumping some Halloween music jams in the courtyard. This was very impromptu and very cute! I cannot really speak to the restaurant or menu here but it definitely piqued my interest to come back another day as we already had lunch down the street when we came by.

We went here for brunch to celebrate birthdays! The host was so sweet and went above beyond for our group. He took so many photos for us lol I wasnt to impressed with the menu, it's pretty basic. However the calamari was really good and the chicken&waffles was 10/10. They brought us a slice of cake of our birthdays, which was really sweet. But I do not think I would be excited to return. The restaurant isn't memorable to me for Chicago.

First off, the location is in a very busy area, so parking can be tricky--you might have to valet. We had a reservation for a party of 9, and while I understand policies about seating incomplete parties, the restaurant was not busy at all and had plenty of open tables, yet they still refused to seat us until most of our group arrived. That was frustrating, especially given how empty the place was. On the food side, it was a mixed bag. The Brussels sprouts were absolutely delicious, easily the highlight of the meal. The cinnamon roll, unfortunately, was super dry, and the shakshuka was way too sour--it really needed more herbs to balance the flavors. The burger was pretty standard, but the salted bun was a nice touch. What I did love was the ambiance--the open kitchen concept and all the natural light made for a great dining atmosphere.

Came here for dinner and drinks and really liked it! Thought the service and ambience were great. The weather was beautiful so got to sit outside, but the inside looked very nice too. For drinks I had the ciao-biscus and tajinarito. Both were great, albeit a little diluted. For food we tried the crispy pretzel calamari, herb crusted salmon, and baba ganoush. Highly recommend the salmon! It was plentiful, cooked well, and tasty. Skip the calamari - there was hardly any and it didn't taste of pretzels. The baba ganoush was good. Overall had a great experience and would come back! Recommend!

    Nice outdoor seating

Normally, we don't look to eat at restaurants in hotels. However, looking at the reviews of Somerset and their menu made us ignore that thought. The inside dining room of the Somerset is very nice and has a nice bar with a TV. The outdoor seating is exceptional, and being a nice day outside made us land there. Our wait person, Liz, quickly greeted us and brought menus and water to us. We ordered a couple of nice cocktails, the Peachy Clean and the Spice is Right. They both were very tasty. The Burrata with strawberry compote sounded terrific. We also decided to split the Prix Fixe Menu for lunch. Our first course was butternut squash soup. It was quite thick with pepitas in it. It was extraordinarily delicious, some of the best we've ever had. The Burrata was accompanied with perfectly cooked ciabatta and was a fantastic dish for the table. Our second course was the herb crusted salmon with lentils and white asparagus in a yummy berbere sauce. The salmon was cooked exactly per our request. We will definitely get this unique salmon dish again! Our dessert was very good key lime cheesecake with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. The restaurant was getting quite busy. All of the staff, including Trish, the manager, was helping everyone else out. Adam, the bartender, came to tell us they were out of the red wine I had ordered. What was really sharp was that he brought a sample of a similar wine that he thought I would like instead. Besides being very friendly, our wait person, Liz, was helpful informing us about different menu items. Overall, our experience at Somerset was one of the best we've had in a long time. And, fyi, the Viceroy, the hotel that houses the Somerset seems quite nice.

I went to the Somerset by myself on a business trip. The food, service and ambiance were amazing. The coffee was fresh and I never had to wait for a refill. I sat near the window and enjoyed the view while waiting for my food. I had the breakfast sandwich which had homemade chicken sausage (patty) and crispy potatoes. I don't usually eat the potatoes but they were so good! Hope to come back soon!

Osasu the manager today was lovely and attentive to me without my asking. She went above and beyond and made my experience great! The food was good... the key lime cheesecake was not great bc the cheesecake itself didn't have much lime but the rest of this dessert was good! The ice cream, the coconut crumble, the whipped meringue... all yummy! The cous cous salad was very fresh and dressing homemade and good (I liked it on the side bc it's full of flavor and vinegar) and the duck pasta dish was flavorful. Ambience beautiful... lots of party events can take place here on 2 floors, nice outdoor seating, lovely bathrooms.

We had brunch here on a Saturday and it was 3/4 full seemed like. Made reservations but still waited alittle bit to get service at the table, so plan ahead. Once we ordered it was quick for the food to come out and it was all very good. If you are looking for a nice patio on a nice day, check it out for sure. The inside has a cool center bar that looks pretty iconic.

    Eggs Benedict, French toast

The restaurant looks fancy but the brunch items tasted very average. The French toast was and eggs Benedict were all very average for a pretty steep price which is why it felt disappointing.

Get some pretty good brunch at not crazy high prices for around here. It's actually open later too but it's best known for the good stuff it has in the morning. Somerset is a pretty casual and chillaxing place even though it looks upscale. Has a fairly good amount of typical breakfast favorites. The lunch and dinner has more things. At breakfast the group came and got seated and it wasn't busy yet so there wasn't a long wait like others may have. It was serving the brunch menu. The items were mostly breakfast but there was some lunch stuff too. Has some vegan and vegetarian choices. It's $12 for the Açaí Yogurt Parfait. Added a few bucks to substitute dairy free yogurt made with coconut. Simple yet a good day starting meal. As for the others they liked what they got. The portions were a bit small, which was the biggest complaint about the food it seems. Brunch is the most popular time to come. It has a pretty good variety of both the breakfast and lunch items. The menu also has options for vegans and vegetarians.

    Barramundi
    Annie A.

The restaurant is beautiful, and my group sat outside on a summer night; it was very charming with the twinkle lights. Our server was knowledgeable but a little condescending and got annoyed when we asked questions about the food. He recommended the barramundi which was very good and a few people in our group ordered it. I kept double checking to see if any of the dishes were spicy, a little sensitive over here . The salmon was mediocre and the salad had some really hot peppers on it. It is on the pricier side so I expected better quality in service and food.

    Aly M.

Surprised the quality of the food was so-so because the location is great and the atmosphere was nice with live music. The place was understaffed so there was only 1 waiter for the whole inside and outside and it took 2 hours to get food. I think there is potential for this place to be decent if they can hire more staff. The waiter did outstanding though for serving so many tables without showing stress and was very nice. However would I go back for the food if the service improved? Absolutely not.

    Breakfast Sandwich
    Jennifer S.

Kristal (not sure how to spell) provided excellent service 2x this weekend! Both times I enjoyed the Breakfast Sandwich. It is that good! The pickled jalapeños brought the perfect amount of zing combined with the chicken sausage and the egg was fluffy and soft but not mushy. I topped it off with the pastry of the day which was peach preserves surrounded by the flakiest tart crust! The decor and vibes are very modern, fresh, chill/relaxing. Our group did wonder why no one on the staff seemed to be in a good mood/pleasant or frankly interested in being there...other than Kristal. (Partially why I removed 1 star bc the atmosphere today was a little awkward w the staff) I'll still be back!

Thick, creamy, smooth and rich. The cinnamon came through warm but not too strong, plus a little extra on top that hit your nose before the first sip. Sweet and it almost had this slight earthy note too... hard to explain but good. It even had that little design on top, like the ones they do on cappuccinos. Didn't expect that but it was cool. I know it sounded silly, but I enjoyed chewing these coconut flakes and they were good palate cleansers! The presentation was da bomb as well. The only reason that I couldn't give five stars to "Stockyard" was limited seating. The place was super cute, but there were only 3 tables and less than 4 high chair seating against the windows, plus some outdoor seating on the pedestrian walkway. The laptop users were respectfully directed to sit at the windows and outlets were available. The baristas were friendly and knowledgeable. Our family and extended family often ordered birthday cakes from them, and their mango cake was our favorite. When mangoes were in season, they used plenty of fresh mango in the cakes. Their cakes are always fresh, light, fluffy, and not too sweet. My daughter and I also love their individual cakes, especially the Black Pearl and Walnut Cake. Their pineapple buns and egg tarts are her favorites as well. Saint Anna has also been part of our daughter's childhood. When she was little, my husband used to bring her here before or after Chinese school in Chinatown on Sundays. Her go-to breakfast items were the Butter Bun, Ham and Macaroni in Soup, and Diced Ham and Corn in Cream Rice. As she got older, Curry Chicken with Potato became her favorite. She especially loved the potato cubes soaked in the delicious, mild curry sauce. She would always ask for more potatoes and less chicken, haha! Saint Anna is a family-run business, and Sara and Irene, the daughters-in-law, used to take care of the front of house. They were always so friendly and accommodating. After a 6-year hiatus, we finally returned one Friday recently when we happened to be in the area with a friend. Sara is now a co-owner, and it was wonderful to see her again. She immediately recognized us and was so warm and welcoming. She even asked me to relay her greetings to my sisters when she greeted us and again when we were leaving. Those little gestures made our return feel especially meaningful. We were still full from a big dim sum lunch, so my daughter picked up 2 Mini Pineapple Buns and 2 Paper-Wrapped Sponge Cakes, while I got a Red Bean Roll. Everything was fresh, soft, and delicious, and the total came to just under $8, really a great value. Our friend also purchased 2 Fried Sticky Rice Dumplings with Chicken. I had never really paid attention to their limited dim sum selection before, so that was a nice discovery. We love Saint Anna and will definitely be back whenever we're in the area.
