well where should I start. for Presidents' Day we decided to get some fresh air and drive more than 30 mins to get a pizza. let me start off with the food was good everything else was surprisingly awful starts with the host not sitting customers. where the bartender asked why people aren't being sat. to a 75 min wait to get a pizza. a pizza took over an hour! Stopped by here on a tour. We were seated immediately. our server greeted us right away. Made a recommendation for my drink. I appreciate the recommendation but drink was weak and overpriced. Super expensive! The amount of toppings they put on has reduced since the pandemic and it costs too much to add a topping. If you want to add onion...pay $5 but you wont get $5 worth of onion. You will get $.25 worth. So i order a basic pepperoni, only when they have a coupon, and add toppings at home like pickled jalepeno and pineapple or some onion and peppers. So frustrating that a 3 topping pizza is $40 or more. Also, when you pick up your to go order they open the pizza box in front of you to show you that they did it right. My opinion is they should make sure they did it right before they put it in the box, and then I would appreciate it if they kept the heat inside the box so I might have a chance at a hot slice of pizza by the time it gets home. read more

First time here this weekend and had a great experience! My son is allergic gluten and dairy. He is not on a celiac level. Our server Jennifer was fantastic and knowledgeable. She did say they have a gluten free crust but they are not really celiac friendly. We got the gluten free crust with dairy free mozzarella cheese. My son loved it with no allergic reaction. We escaped to Evergreen on a blazing hot Saturday to get some reprieve from the Denver heat. The setting was excellent exactly what we were looking for. Staff is pleasant and professional great location we sat on the patio by the water. As far as the food the chips and salsa with queso app was decent but served very small and the pizza was a no for us maybe it was the pie we ordered we tried a traditional margherita it wasn't very flavorful I can't pinpoint if it was the crust or the toppings but I think it could've definitely used "something". I'd still go back I'd just order something different. read more

It's Beau Jos so definitely order the mountain crust pizza and eat it with honey on the side. This location is tough to park at, but once you're inside, the service is great. Meh- this is essentially a Cici's Pizza nestled in a woodsy cabin with an incredible view. I'm giving 5 stars for ambience and friendly service but the pizza was simply not good. It was cafeteria, basic, greasy pizza and during lunch they set-up it up as a lunch buffet which was even less appetizing. Their schtick is dipping the crust in honey which is a great idea but they should really focus on the rest of the pie. As I mentioned earlier, we came during lunch and yes, we took advantage of the buffet because it was a better value than ordering off of the menu (prices were high for quality) and the buffet included pizza, soup, and the salad bar. I was a little disappointed because they have this great deck but they wouldn't seat us even though the temperature was in the high 60s. Heard great things about beau so we were so excited to try it! Upon arriving we were told the wait would be 15/20 minutes. It was later on a Thursday so we were expecting to wait a little. It ended up being closer to 40 minutes. The table we were sat at had been cleaned and emptied for at least 15 minutes before they brought us back. We could see it from where we were waiting. After ordering we were hit with even more waiting. Instead of being upfront that the kitchen was short staffed they said our food would be out in 15/20 minutes. Over an hour later we finally got out apps and 2 minutes later our pizza. When the HOSTESS brought our apps she informed us that our waiter was making our food because they were short staffed. Why not be upfront instead of saying 15/20 minutes. I'm appalled at the lack of care and honesty. Will never return to a beau Jos. read more

For an appetizer we had the baked buffalo cauliflower, it was good, I prefer mine roasted a bit more, but the taste and ranch dressing were good. My husband and I split a medium mountain pie, with pepperoni and half jalapeños, they were fresh jalapeños and I'm used to pickled. I really love pizza. I've been on pizza tours of Chicago and New York. I grew up going to the original Pizzeria Regina in Boston. I went to Naples, Italy as part of our honeymoon solely to eat real pizza. I've eaten a lot of good pizza in my day. So when I heard of Beau Jo's "Colorado-style pizza," I thought, "This sounds promising! I didn't even know Colorado had a style of pizza!" If Beau Jo's is the representative, there's a reason why no one has heard of Colorado-style pizza. It's really just ok. It's not bad, but it's extremely overpriced, not that special, and really not as tall as its mountain crust would make you think. Since you're probably going all in for the Colorado-style pizza experience, you're going to order a mountain crust. It sounds cool because you order your pizza by the pound, which makes you think it's going to be crazy huge and filling. We had four people, so we ordered a 5 pound pizza, which is supposed to feed 5-7. It's just not that big. A 5 pound pizza is child's play for 4 adult males. The cheese is decent and bready crust that you can cover in honey is equally ok. It doesn't have any wow factor when it comes out, nor when it hits your mouth. In the end, you'll wonder why you just bought the most expensive pizza of your modern life. read more

I love that there is not only indoor dining but an outdoor area overlooking creekside. The food has been almost as good as the location in Idaho Springs but without the 45-1 hour wait. I wish they would bring the salad bar back, it's one of the reasons we don't visit as often anymore and can't give it a full 5 star...it was one of my favorite salad bars in Colorado. The food & drink options are good and there is an option for non-dairy cheese for the pizza which is thoughtful to those who have to avoid dairy products. We'll definitely revisit again. read more

No hyperbole, family agreed this was the best pizza we have ever had. Visiting from Ohio, we had been sent on a quest to try Colorado Pizza. THIS WAS IT. We can't say enough about the congeniality and kindness of our waiter, Mark David, who explained that Colorado Mountain-style pizza has a thick, braided crust. You eat from the middle out, first enjoying all the toppings. Then you put honey (supplied at each table) on the crust-- and it's dessert. We ordered the Motherlode in the mountain style, and a prairie style Yukon with the cauliflower crust. Absolute delicious combinations of toppings. The first version of the latter "was not pretty enough" do they made it again, but Mark was kind enough to bring us the messy one to snack on before the perfect one arrived, rather than throw it away. It was a knife and fork pizza, quite different from the hand-held style of the other. We also enjoyed the pleasant stout on tap. The kids are still talking about Mark's positive take on life. He had a great sense of humor. We are longing to try the cherry cobbler but will need to go just got dessert, on an empty stomach. read more

Big fan of the pizza here. Finally decided to write a review. There are multiple locations but usually we go to the one in idaho springs because it's along the way up or down from summit county. We came to the Evergreen location because there was a beerfest in idaho springs so there was an hour+ wait and zero parking. The outdoor patio seating was very nice, there's a small creek that runs right by. Beau Jo's pizza is unique in that the outer crust is very thick and doughy, but the inner crust where the toppings, sauce, and cheese are is thin. Their dough is also nice and soft, and nothing like deep dish. They also make regular thin crust style pizzas, but why even bother? They have interesting pizza topping combos as well as gluten free/ healthy oriented pizzas. I think they even have nutritional info on the menu. At certain times of the day they offer a pizza buffet too, but I've never been able to do it myself. They also have a ridiculous 2 man eating challenge. When you eat a mountain pie, you save some of the thick crust for last, and eat it with honey. It may sound strange but it's delicious. I never leave any leftovers, but a friend says that their cheese stays good even as a leftover, and it doesn't harden or discolor. Definitely worth a visit if you're ever in the area. read more
