After being a loyal customer of Cathy's (The salon OWNER) for a long time I was told today I can no longer make appointments in advance. Due to having to cancel an appointment with OVER 24 hours notice due to an unexpected medical procedure and a huge medical scare. She was unable to fill my appointment with 24 hours notice but claims to be very busy. She told me I can call when I need an appointment if she is available. This is a perfect example of a business owner that does not care about LOYAL clients. I can only assume she only cares about money not the clients. This experience has changed my 5 star rating to a big I will never go back to this salon. I would discourage supporting her And her business. she is never on time anyway!!! read more

I love it here! I recently moved back into town and decided to go to Beautica because I remembered having a positive experience there years ago. I'm so glad I did. I haven't had one bad manicure or pedicure. I used to get my eyebrows done at a salon I. Pembroke but figured I'd do it here while I was already at the salon and the tech did a wonderful job. Update: first time back here since Covid and I am truly impressed! They have gone above and beyond with safety precautions (hand washing, sanitizer, plastic partitions, temp check, no over crowding). And the pedicure was great too! Feels good to get back to some normalcy! Went here for the first time and got a pedicure and gel manicure from Kathy, the owner. She was lovely and did a great job. The prices are fair, the place is clean and they have a pretty good variety of colors. The basic pedicure comes with a hot stone massage and paraffin wax on your heals which is usually an up charge at most places. As long as the polish lasts I'll definitely be back! read more

This was my first time going to Beautica and I'm glad I did! A friend had tagged this salon on Facebook and I decided to try it after her good feedback. They have all safety precautions in place opening following Covid which I was glad to see (vinyl curtains between pedicure chairs, plexiglass at manicure stations, lots of signage about safety, hand hygiene, and expectations of patrons and staff, etc). I booked a mani/pedi with Amy and it was the best pedicure I've ever had. I love my manicure and the suggestions she made about adjusting the color when it didn't come out quite how I expected after the first coat. I have been here a few times and never had a good experience. The first two times they chased me out the door accusing me of not paying when I had already paid because they asked for me to prepay before they even did anything. I was just there tonight for a French manicure that they had to do twice because the nail polish they used bubbled up(? Maybe too old ) and didn't dry correctly. Took almost two hours of my time and still couldn't get it right. Really?? 30.00$ and 2 hrs for what should have been a simple manicure and still wasn't done right and they made me feel bad for saying I wasn't pleased with the job. I was greeted by the owner who said she was expecting me at 2:45. they had left me a message asking if I could come in early. I forgot to return their call as I am in recovery from a serious concussion and told Kathy I never called. she said 'oh, you didn't confirm the change? No I didn't. well the other client is here now...... and so am I. the one who originally had the 3 pm appt and did not agree to change. she asked if someone else could do my pedicure.....why? So which is it- after only waiting 5 minutes the tech was reassigned to someone who CLEARLY arrived PRIOR to my scheduled appointment, as everyone present seemed already PRETTY INVOLVED in their service, or she went home- both employees up front said the person went home, on this super "busy" Saturday. ‍ I was there for a full set and two pedicures- 6-7 minutes late would ABSOLUTELY not have had that drastic of a domino effect- let's not be ridiculous and condescending. I essentially had what- an hour booked? This is your thing- if someone is not there on the dot you move them to someone else, there's no grace period, very ridiculous. 10 mins late? More than that? Omg YEA reschedule me. Your receptionists attitude, your rude employee up front and your argumentative condescending excuses are a PERFECT example, leaving me even less shocked by the behavior- when management leads by that example of course employees will follow! ‍ I just went back and re-read the businesses response again- 10-15 minutes to pick our a color? Maybe you should check with your employee that booked my appointment, as well as the two employees she consulted that day. i will NEVER GO to Beautica again. i've used this salon before and its been "fine". nothing to write home about but gets the job done. HOWEVER, today i called to make an appointment for SIX pedicures... you'd think they would have been all over that... I even agreed to leave an $80 deposit to secure the appointments... i get it... that's a big no show if we were to bail on them. unfortunately, they would only accept a CASH deposit and not my cc. I was pissed... it was a slap in the face as far as i was concerned. I was happy to oblige to the deposit but it really pissed me off when they wouldn't accept my cc. I called a few days ago to have a natural nail fixed. A small tear on the side. I explained this to Ashley who wanted to sell me a full manicure. I just wanted the nail fixed. I asked how much and she hemmed and hawed... I know someone who was burnt there when they had a waxing and there was visible damage. They didn't take care of them. Relaxing pedicure! First time to this spa for a pediure. Tech took his time and did a really nice finish on my toes. They use nicely scented lotions and oils to finish with a relaxing massage. I have been going to this salon since I was really young when my grandmother would take me... for Xmas 2017 I had received a gift certificate for a full set and whenever I went to have a regular fill for the nails (NOT gel) the employees would always charge me more than the normal $20 that I had started paying previously, and they were charging me closer to $30 instead... I stopped going there and started going to tammys in Pembroke next to poppy's and there MUCH cheaper when it comes to prices on fills ($18, no more). read more

Thought I'd try this place out as it was the only one open early on Saturday mornings. I went in on Friday to make an 8:30 a.m appointment for the next day. At 8:35 everyone walked in and everyone without appointments were provided seats for their pedicures. No one even acknowledged I was there, nor asked if anyone had an appointment. It was clear to me that there was no one there to actually do a manicure. When I spoke up, they all looked at one another and then asked if I could wait 10 more minutes, this already 8:45. Kathy, who has a serious attitude problem anyway, states that polishing is a courtesy provided with the manicure. I disagree and apparently every other salon does too. Every time I come here I regret spending my money here. I only go because it's so close to me and everywhere else I've tried hasn't been my favorite either. When I walk in, each time I get Phil as my manicurist and he's a very nice guy, but he just isn't very talented with the nail painting position. The first time I went to beautica nails was a great experience. Mike was the one who did my gel French manicure and regular pedicure. However, the next day my pedi started chipping, and then I went away on vacation and all of the polish on my toes began to peel completely off within the first 3 days after my pedicure. Also, my gel manicure began chipping from the cuticle part up. Neither of these issues has ever happened to me before, especially after paying $64 for the service, which is a hefty price to pay. So today I went back to the salon where they agreed to do both again at no cost. However they made me pay an additional $15 to have my cuticles cut again instead of just doing for free for the hassle that I had to go through. I am quite disappointed after today's service. Don't think I will be going back there again. What a shame!!! read more

I tried Beautica based on other yelp reviews, and wasn't disappointed. My bestie and I were looking for a nice place to get our nails done before a girls lunch on the South Shore. Beautica didn't disappoint. The salon is impeccably clean, and overall very cute. They appear to use boxes of fresh instruments for each customer, which is a huge plus in my book. My BFF had a pedicure and said it was a good experience. Her toes looked fabulous when they were done. I had a pink and white full set after reading other good reviews. They didn't disappoint. John, the nail tech, did a meticulous job. They looked absolutely stunning when he was done. Perhaps the best part was that he set them with a clear coat of some kind of UV gel at the end, leaving them looking fresh and shiny in a way I'd never seen before. I found them to be right on target for what I expect to pay for a pink and white set, particularly given how labor intensive they are. I will second other reviewers that we didn't feel rushed at all. They took their time and did a really thorough job. They also were flexible when I was running a bit late. That said, I scheduled an 11 AM appointment and while I arrived less than 10 minutes late, I waited until 11:30 to be taken back. While the atmosphere is soothing and relaxing, they could have livened things up just a touch. There were over four of us in the salon (not including the nail techs and staff) and you could have heard a pin drop. Slightly more upbeat music would have suited me a little better. But, to each their own as they say! Assuming these acrylics last well and continue to look nice, I'll definitely come back here for my fills and further nail care. read more

I have been a regular client for 10 years but I will not be back. The salon is clean and the technicians do a very nice pedicure but the overall service experience is terrible. The receptionist is rude and brusque whenever I call for an appointment -- routinely declaring there are no appointments to be had. I have had some luck as a walk-in, only to hear appointments later offered to walk-in clients. The salon is filled with warning signs about rules and consequences if you should drop nail polish. Today I waited nearly 40 minutes and was then sent away to "come back later" after scheduled appointments arrived 25 mins late. I understand reservations take precedence, but the overall attitude and treatment was rude, unfriendly and dismissive. With plenty of other local options, I don't recommend bringing your business to a place that makes you feel unwelcome. read more

I made an appointment both times and still had to wait almost an hour once I was there. Both times I got a regular pedicure. I felt like they skipped some steps that are included at other salons. They didn't even push back my cuticles! Just painted over them. On top of that my nails have started chipping already! Only a few days later! I went in for a quick toe polish change and was quoted $12 on the phone. When i paid they told me it was $15 b/c my toe nails were cut and that was $3 extra. I found that odd and it's not on the price list that it's extra. My toes look nice but i can find a cheaper place to do the same job. Plus i tipped $5 so I spent $20 for a polish change. I will not ever go back to this facility. The staff was rude on several occasions and the polish chipped after a couple days. I have been to this Salon several times over the past 5 years and truly kept giving them chances to improve until my last visit, which really was unacceptable!! My girlfriend and I called the day before to schedule 2 pedicures at the same time. We were given a 2pm appt, which was great since I had time in my schedule to make this appt and relax a little before I had to return to work. ( I have a physical job and am on my feet all day long, so i was really looking forward to this!) We arrived 15 mins before our scheduled time and were told to go pick out our polish as they were getting the stations ready. After waiting 10 mins, a man waved us to come down. We both started heading to the chairs and the man told me they werent ready for me and to go back and sit on the couch. My friend's pedicure started on time. 20 Minutes later..............I was signaled to come down to the chair next to my friend, which was left empty when they brought her down @ 2. (We purposely scheduled our appointments together so we could chat with one another during our treatments. They should have at least filled up the basin for me and allowed me to soak my feet so I could sit with her until they were ready for me.) A man did my treatment and it felt very rough and rushed. There was nothing relaxing about this treatment whatsoever!! He finished with me @ 2:45 with a quick coating of polish! NO second coat or top coat!! My friend was finished @ 3!! Not only was I taken 20 mins late, but I was done 15 minutes before my friend who received a full HOUR!!!! I work 6 - 7 days a week and dont have a lot of time in my schedule to treat myself to a nice pedicure. This was the worst treatment i have ever had and I was completely disappointed. read more

I told the gentleman more than once that they were too thick and didn't look right, but he obviously didn't care, because he insisted they weren't and really didn't make them look any better. He did a gel fill instead because he couldn't understand. 2nd time I went in I explained what I wanted... acrylic fill gel polish, I explained what happened last time and she told me that price was correct.... ok. The lady who did my nails was clearly very sick, she couldn't stop coughing and kept getting up to cough in the bathroom. I could hear her very loudly coughing and spitting in the bathroom and not once heard her wash her hands, this happened at least 4 times. I was to the point that I wanted to walk out. After my very long fill due to her sickness, I go to pay and it was $35. Strange after I spoke with someone when I went in and they told me otherwise.
