I have seen crepes that were thicker than my $21 lonely frittata that came on a plate with no toast, no potatoes, no fruit. VERY expensive for the thinnest, least fluffy frittata I ever had. Good thing that I added sausage ($, pork) and cheese ($2). All in all, not satisfying. The waiter actually greeted us with, "Have we been with us before?" Is that English? What means that? Seriously people...this is one of the hidden jewels of California. Stop in La Quinta and eat breakfast here at Beautiful Day. My husband and I purposely plan all of our road trips from AZ to Cali (then back) with this place as a stop every single time because it's that phenomenal of a meal. You must have the breakfast hash (with extra sauce) and fresh squeezed orange juice. We typically add an egg and bacon as well. The team is always so kind and attentive. Can't wait for another Cali roadtrip as this will have to be a stop again for sure. read more

Once you get past the exorbitant trendy cafe prices (hence the star off), this spot is great! The food is SO fresh and honestly surprisingly filling. The BD Goddess salad was soooo good, I love the combination of flavors! The pickled red onions made a world of difference. They make veggies exciting to eat!! I ordered a Mushroom Shawarma Tartine on a Sourdough toast which I had never heard of. It was very good and tasty along with a coffee, and a large glass of OJ. This is such a hidden gem. I love the poke bowl from here! It is such a refreshing taste and not too overpowering on the sauce. The grandpas waffles are also sooo good! And don't even get me started on the BD barbajada coffee. Since the location is next to a supercharger I often come in just to get the coffee to go. I love this place and always recommend it! My first visit to Beautiful Day was great, and I'm looking forward to trying more of their dishes! The menu is the perfect size with a well-balanced variety of both sweet and savory, healthy and decadent farm-to-table options, and the staff are down-to-earth, friendly, and have great customer service skills. I ordered the Bibimbap Bowl of seasoned rice, avocado, scallions, homemade kimchi, pickled vegetables, and chili crunch (vegan & gluten free). I debated about whether or not to take a chance on the kimchi, and I'm glad I did. It was delicious and satisfying! The seasoned rice bursts with flavor and has a kick. The homemade kimchi and the pickled vegetables have the right amount of acidity and, thankfully, aren't overly sour like other kimchi I've had. It was so filling but delicious that I took the leftovers home with me to enjoy later. The only downsides during my visit were an unpleasant, unappetizing odor from the grease trap and a long wait for food even though my table of 2 was the only table in the restaurant aside from one other table that had already received their food by the time we ordered. Hopefully, these are issues that will improve with time, since they've just recently opened. Overall, I really hope this place survives. My wife and I both had the waffle, but I ordered the chicken add on for mine. Wow! The waffle was good, but with the crispy coated fried chicken breast, the combination was perfection. Chicken and waffles, I get it. I tried the cherry iced tea, and I'm telling you, you should as well. Days later, I'm still craving more! The food and their tea selection are exceptional. It's not a sceney-brunch spot (yet!), but it definitely has the chops to be in the future. Everyone at the table was impressed with their orders, from the breakfast sandwich to the kale salad to the bibimbap. The "cowboy candy" was unique. I recommend only ordering if you are going to put on something else vs enjoying it on its own (but know that there's no fire in it, it's all sweet even though it's jalapenos). The focaccia wasn't your standard bread for the table, and it was the only thing hotly debated if it should go in the "we love" or "we don't quite love" so may be something that you only opt for if you're really hungry and want an amuse bouche. Hands down one of the best restaurants that accommodates all dietary preferences in a warm, welcoming and minimalistic environment. La Quinta and Palm Springs finally has a place that will now be my local breakfast and lunch spot! To preface, I love that there is something for everyone here. I have been vegan for almost 10 years and it's exciting to see a local restaurant offer vegan options and non vegan options to satisfy everyone's needs. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the lovely staff Priscilla and Molly. I was feeling tired and they suggested for me to start my morning with a green tea latte - which was unexpected, because they have an entire tea bar with so many options! If you're a tea lover, please forget Starbucks and give them a try. For an early lunch, I had shared the Mushroom Shawarma and the BD Green Goddess Salad. Both were extremely filling portions, organic and served beautifully. You can tell that each dish was handled with care and creatively! Overall, the staff went above and beyond to meet my expectations and I will absolutely be coming back. I also found out that they offer catering services, which I will definitely be using in the near future for an event that my boyfriend and I are planning. Easily made a reservation on Yelp and showed up about 10 minutes in advance. There was a small crowd waiting outside, but we were greeted and seated promptly. The restaurant was very busy on a Sunday morning, and we waited about 5 minutes before our server, Tyler, stopped by to greet us. Tyler apologized for the delay which we were fine with, as it was evident they were busy and hustling to get tables served. The place has a great vibe, and an interesting menu. We have eaten here for both breakfast and lunch and it was really good. The breakfast menu is full of wonderful choices. we had the Huckleberry Hotcakes and the Avocado Toast. Both were wonderful. They feature Joshua Tree coffee that we drink at home. We have also had the Granola Bowl and it was good. At lunch we have had the Smash Burger and the Gem Salad. Both recommended. Also got the potatoes asa side and they were fantastic. The wait staff are very friendly and attentive. The ambiance is not great but the food and service more than make up for it. The food was OK. The Egg Sandwich with cheese and bacon was a good portion. The other egg and cheese sandwich was smaller. The cheese they use are similar to Kraft processed cheese. The place is here to make money. You won't find it on diners, drive in's and dives.. The ambiance is ok. They are serving items that are cheap in order to maximize the profit. On this 100 degree at 9am, we opted for this spot close by and so glad we did! We ordered the Huckleberry Pancakes (10/1), Chicken Sandwich (10/10) and kids waffle for the little one. Pancakes were better than the waffles, but had we not had pancakes, probably would have loved it more. We got a recommendation to come to this place as it has great breakfast and god service. We ordered a breakfast burrito with eggs and potatoes . We started eating and were hoping for a high quality food that we will enjoy. While eating the food, I felt a big metal piece in my mouth. I couldn't believe it. We called the manager who instead of figuring out a way to compensate us. Decided to be upset and mad and rude about us comparing about a serious matter that could have caused a serious chock or worst. I was so disappointed that this is the reaction i got from the manager . We expected a better and more understanding reaction but we that was not the case. When we got the Check, I expected a better compensation than just deducting the price of the bad dish I had. That was not the case and the rudeness of the manger was the last straw. Yes, oh my Goddes yes, oh my Goddess yes! You have to eat at Beautiful Day! The food is local and organic and so fresh and thoughtful and homemade. I was fortunate to be in a fairly small group of 4 and we managed to order nearly everything on the menu and from one thing to the next, it was just sublime how beautiful they treated every ingredient, they offer. I cannot wait to get in there for a dinner meal sometime, but as it is, will be satisfied with breakfast and lunch for now. We of course ordered the gluten-free Belgian waffles what! Those were so crazy delicious, as a GF person myself I rarely get to order waffles on a menu. These were delicious. We also ordered the roasted cauliflower which Devine with a creamy nut nutty sauce, and Brussels sprouts, and the double smashburger was redunculous! Every single thing we had was was just so top-notch. They get an enthusiastic five stars and I can't wait to go back. Plus their staff all clearly love working there because each one is as friendly as the next! I consider myself to be a fairly sophisticated foody and I try to offer fair reviews based on the type of venue.
