Yes, I had some crapy waxers here over the years and quite honestly the front desk was useless at the time to resolve the problem, however, the front desk staff here charges all the time and I found my favorite waxer, Sarah. I have held onto this review for a couple weeks but as of my interactions with them again today, it has confirmed my belief of a more than lacking customer service. I have to say, the actual waxer (Kaley) that I experienced once was an absolute gem, however the front desk staff is rude, inhospitable, and just not friendly.. I had to cancel an appointment a few weeks ago when I had food poisoning & I left a voicemail letting them know. When They called me 15min after my appointment time, I told them I'd left a voicemail letting them know I was sick and would not make it. The girl responded that they called back to see if I would make it and since I did not answer, they were making some negative mark on my account or something. This confused me since I called them telling them I couldn't make it, so why would they call to ask if I was? She stated they heard the voicemail after my appointment time (which was fair because I called probably 45min. before my appointment), and that they had since listened to my message but still felt the need to call to see "if I was going to make it". She kept repeating that I didn't answer when they called me "right" back (30min later), which excuse me but if you've had food poisoning before I'm sure you know, you're not by your phone 24/7 answering calls from random numbers (they cal from a different number than you call apparently). I also felt it strange that she found it appropriate to police my phone habits at home (especially when sick) and also felt it was appropriate to argue with me about it. This interaction left me incredibly bothered. Anyway I called today to get my appointment scheduled again and initially had no issue. However 5 minutes later, I received a call from them with some story about how I was just double-booked and they cannot do my appointment today as scheduled. The assistance I received from this associate who referred to herself as Janae did not seem as though she was trying ti help. And when I told her I would go ahead and just cancel, she enthusiastically said "okay!" and all but hung up on me. I'm not sure if these two situations are related but I wouldn't be surprised if they were. Regardless, they have definitely driven me away to try the new places of the same service in the same vicinity. I've never had an issue with European Wax ever in the many years that I have visited and am saddened to see the customer service that's been allowed. I don't see myself at EWC again in the future. Please up your expectations for employees. I do plan on reaching out to upper management or corporate as this seems to be a reoccurring theme for this location. read more

Literally the best Brazilian wax I've ever had -- and I've had many! I had to change my appointment time this morning and the ladies at the front desk were very sweet and accommodating. I'm VERY LUCKY to have gotten Kate as my wax specialist - she is amazing. I got my full legs as well as Brazilian done and Kate was extremely skilled and efficient yet thorough. She was a fast waxer, and then made sure to take her time plucking any stragglers, which i really appreciate! I will definitely be requesting Kate again next time I'm in town and need a wax. I called in for a last minute Brazilian wax as my usual waxer was unable to fit my scheduling needs. I called at about 3:45 and was able to book a same day appointment at 5:45 pm. Since this was my first time receiving a service at EWC I qualified to receive 50% off my "bikini wax service" that was actually a full Brazilian. The normal price is $63 and I only paid $31.50+ gratuity (obviously) I checked in about 7 minutes before my appointment and was asked some standard questions by the receptionist that was very friendly and personable. She informed me that my waxer (Danielle) would be up to call me back for my service in about 5 minutes but it was more like two... EWC is infamous for their 15 Minute wax and sometimes not so great waxers that rush through the service. However, Danielle was great. She worked very quickly and efficiently checking on me to make sure I was okay. She also said I could take breaks when needed ( I didn't want to) I just rip it off when it comes to band aids and I prefer my Brazilian wax appointment to be the same way!! She checked in with me to make sure the temp was good and allowed me to straighten my legs when needed. This was the fastest and least painful wax I've ever experienced!! It took about 10 minutes from start to finish and I'm very happy with my results! I highly recommend Danielle at European Wax center! She has 4 years of experience and is definitely a gentle and efficient speed waxer!! If I need to come back in a pinch I will definitely request her each time!! I gave this place a five star rating a few months ago however, the last time I went I got attitude from the receptionist because I was running late . Once I came in again attitude but, but once she found out I work at Nordstrom's Rack boy did she change and suddenly become nice .. Furthermore I had an appointment today at 10:30am thus, I worked 12 plus hous yesterday and am at work today yes, on my day off . You guys call me and tell me I missed my appointment umm No Shit ! Am I back in high school and need permission to not attend. Things happen its called life however these receptionist are worse then used car sales men .. This was my first Brazilian wax at European wax center. I used to go to a different spot consistently but my waxer was on maternity leave so i decided to try a different place. They were super friendly and it was convenient and easy to set up an appointment. The Brazilian was fast and it really didn't hurt, maybe because I'm used to it but about two days after my wax, I had the worst hair bumps ever. I'm not sure if it's because she didn't put any spray, a wipe or anything on me after the waxing but it was worse then after a close shave. I always exfoliate every day, especially after waxing and I've NEVER had this issue before after a wax. I'd love to give them another chance because their location is convenient and the employees, including my waxer were extremely nice, but I highly doubt I will be going back there read more

Three stars for Courtney who I consistently sees. She's amazing and takes really good care of you. She makes sure to wax you quick and pain-free, which I really like. I took off 2 stars because I reschedule an appointment one day and the receptionist failed to let me know I won't be with Courtney and it was a huge surprise when I came in and it was totally someone different! I was pretty upset since that person kept waxing the same spot over and over which gave me a bad reaction. (I get Brazilians) Also, depending on who is working the front that day, most of them are nice/respectful, but some others are rude and seems like they do not care for the job. Terribly rude receptionist. There was an accident and bad traffic while I was driving there. I called ahead of time and said I'd be a few minutes late. She said "at the 9 minute mark, we can still accept you. At the 10 minute mark we can't" I rushed and ran into the store. It was just crossing the 10 min mark of being late and she said no, sorry, we can't take you in the most obnoxious voice. I said seriously 60 seconds? I would understand if I was 15-20 min late. She just said "ma'am it's 4:26 and I said you had to be here by 4:24" Clearly these people don't have a sense of customer service. First let me start off with the place itself. Super clean and the staff is so friendly. Coming from a bigger city where their staff is sub par and often had attitude, it's refreshing to see not all places are the same. Second, I want to highly recommend Amanda. I haven't gone anyone but her since I started coming to this location. She always makes me feel comfortable and does a great job through the whole process, making sure there are no in grown hairs and taking out the stubborn ones. RIPPED OFF!! The center advertised, "Your first wax free." I went in for my first wax (a very basic type of wax." Afterwards they told me that my service was excluded and made me pay. After I complained they knocked 1/3 off the price (which is about 33% higher than what I have paid elsewhere.) I really would avoid this place. I went about a month ago for a brow service and also today and both of the times I went there were excellent and far exceeded my expectations. On my first experience at this location, I had Claudia and she was wonderful and knew exactly what she was doing. She was really nice and walked me through the entire process of what she was going doing. I opted to not do the fill with the pencil this time around so I could really look and check for myself how the brows were with no coverup. They were fabulous. On my second appointment, I had Leah and she was also very nice and she was very passionate about her job, I could tell. Her eyebrow wax far exceeded my expectations and it was absolutely beautiful. She showed me my brows without pencil filler and I was in awe of how wonderful and even they looked and just the perfect shape and size. I have naturally thick brows, so I will say, it's probably not too difficult to get them right, and Leah nailed it. Since I could tell it was so nice, I opted to have her fill them a bit with the pencil brow filler and they just looked out of this world phenomenal. Thank you Claudia and Leah for giving me great brows! I feel confident in your hands! *The only thing I will say is that the front desk aren't the friendliest, they are much better at the Oro Valley location, but this 5 star review is solely because of the excellent job of the wax specialists here. read more

Front desk person was extremely rude. She had called to verify my appointment advised I had just pulled up 15min early for my appointment. I checked in via text and another 15 min go by and no text yet letting me know they were ready for me. I called and checked the status for her to tell me I did it wrong and even tho she knew I was out there and I had a text showing I checked in I was considered late they could not fit me in and I would need to be rescheduled. This was my first time receiving a wax ever. I booked the bikini full service and I am OBSESSED with the results! I called and asked lots of questions that might have annoyed anyone else. However, the lady who answered the phone was kind, patient, and incredibly helpful. After speaking with her for about 5 minutes, she set me up for an appointment that same day! When I got to the wax center, they checked me in very quickly and then gave me a rundown of the products they sell and what services and deals they offer. My wax specialist was Claudia and she was INCREDIBLE! Like I said, this was my first wax ever and it was my bikini, which is a pretty personal spot. She made me feel super comfortable and at ease. First off let me say I love all the waxers here and have only had good experiences with them. Sarah and Eliah are both fantastic! My main critic for this location is for the desk staff. My first visit my wife got her eyebrows done (which is complimentary) and the girl we interacted with spoke to us in the most high pitched voice and very quickly- to be honest I had a very hard time understanding her as she pitched me the products and services. We returned for a second visit, my wife's eyebrows again and my lip. It's my first visit so I think I'm having a free service- even though eyebrows and bikini are free, a lip wax is not and no one told me that until it was time to pay. A different girl now explains the products and services again by this time I can't hear because of the mumbling and the same girl from the previous visit is talking very loudly across the lobby to another client. While waiting then can hear the staff (I think her name starts with K) talking to a co worker and she sounds completely normal! No strange diction or sing songy high tone, nothing - so I know that voice is part of the sales pitch or a desire to sound professional . My advice is to speak to clients the way you speak to friends and you'll get a lot farther. read more

I had the worst customer service experience at this Location that may have completely turned me away from visiting another European Wax Center again. My appointment was on Wednesday 5/11/22 in the afternoon. My wax specialist, Danielle, was great. The receptionist with the (maybe) blonde hair in the grey shirt was extremely rude and condescending her attitude felt more than her just having a bad day. She literally started arguing with me over a simple question. I would never be this rude to a customer and I really hope someone teaches her how to be nice to customers who are paying for services. read more

EWC has a strict time schedule for their waxers but this girl gets everything and I have multiple services done at once. She blows my mind!
