9/15/2026 i've been to Joy's several times and never had the service that I had today…read more I went in to get a pedicure and asked the lady to make sure to get the areas that were dry First off, she started scrubbing really hard, and I let her know it was too hard. when she was done with 1st left foot, she went onto the Right foot. I checked the left foot and it was cut up. At the end when I went to pay, I asked to speak to a manager because my foot was really hurting and cut up and I showed him. All he kept saying was we do what our customers tell us to do. I said I did ask her to scrub the dry areas, but I didn't ask her to cut me.. He repeated myself and proceeded to charge me full price. He ended up only giving me six dollars off. Why this didn't suffice, because number one she was talking to the woman that was working next to her and not paying attention to what she was doing. Number two, I go there frequently and had never experience this kind of service ever until today. Not once did he apologize or did they take accountability. Even when I showed him the pictures and my foot, all he did was blame me. Shame on Joy's. I know that you don't care that I will ever go back again and it's unfortunate because I always like to go in there. One bad experience negated the previous good service I always received because they were rough and not gentle like their website says, and they didn't take accountability nor apologize

I was seated with the older male technician (he looks like a grandpa) who sits at the first desk on the right next to the entrance and window. The salon was busy that day, and multiple people were present, but not a single person stepped in during or after what happened. This injury occurred while he was removing my acrylic nails. Instead of safely soaking them off, he used the unsafe "popping" method, forcefully prying the acrylic off my natural nail. During this process, he was rough, rude, and aggressive, and he clipped my actual nail that was still attached to the skin, not dead nail or cuticle. This caused an open wound, active bleeding, and exposed nail bed. When I questioned why he was applying glue and a top coat after injuring me, he said he was going to add an additional nail tip because he had clipped my nail. I clearly said no. Despite that, he still applied nail glue and added a nail tip to my finger without my consent, directly over an injured area. When I reacted in pain and tried to pull my hand away, he grabbed my finger again and continued. I pulled back again to look at my finger because I was scared and wanted to see the injury. He tried to stop me from looking at my own injury and did not want me to see it. Instead of apologizing or getting help, he became verbally aggressive. This was not a minor accident. Part of my living nail attached to skin was clipped, leaving my finger raw, bleeding, and painful (photos included). What makes this worse is that even though the salon was full, no staff member intervened, checked on me, or addressed the situation. I did not feel safe. I did not feel respected. This is a serious safety, hygiene, and consent issue. I strongly do not recommend this salon. Management needs to take responsibility for technician behavior and how client injuries are handled.

The previous owner had a good thing going (Dena, Pacific Nails). It was lovely, clean, relaxing, and full of talented and friendly faces who clearly enjoyed working together and took pride in the place as a team. Whether you walked in or had an appointment, everyone greeted you. It was extremely rare to not be seen. This salon was sold in...fall? of 2022 (it is now Roadrunner Beauty), and those friendly faces have finally started to move on one-by-one with the arrival of the new year. It feels like only a matter of time before there is full turnover, including their clients. What used to be a reliable calm space with classic relaxing spa music has now become the equivalent of Facebook advertisements vomiting all over a salon to the sound of outrageously loud bro-country. No joke, I had my nails done to HONKY TONK BADONKADONK the last time I was there. On such a high volume that I could not hear my nail tech. And the only reason I've been seen, is I make an appointment personally with my favorite tech. I can't tell you how many people I've watched turned away or had their appointments they made with the new staff be wrong. The new owner has removed almost every décor item in the place and replaced it with an advertisement for a quick-fix medical procedure. Advertisements run on the televisions, and are shoved on standing posters between almost every piece of furniture. The atmosphere is almost as abrasive as the teen daughter of the owner that now runs the front desk most days. I've never seen someone struggle to answer a phone or greet people as much as this young woman does. She clearly doesn't want to be there, and she'll make you not want to be there either. Even when set up beautifully by a nail tech to upsell the services they've plastered around the place, I watched her scowl while yelling at the tech, "Oh my god it's on the website just tell her to look at it there." Nearly 5 minutes later she realized the person he was referring to was sitting in front of him, because she bothered to look up from her phone. Needless to say that customer was no longer interested in speaking with her when she ran over to not actually apologize. Also, this is why none of the staff respects her. She's a brat. If you've had the displeasure of being in the salon at the same time as the new owner, you'll see that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. The very first time I saw her in her new salon she was "holding court" with her entourage around her loudly speaking about how her new employees had better impress her. Apparently she didn't realize that she was making an impression herself, and it was quite poor. If you're a long time customer, I recommend you get your favorite techs contact information for when they leave to work somewhere nicer. If you've never been here before - I recommend you try a different place. The new staff isn't going to answer the phone if you call anyway. They either can't hear it ringing over Luke Combs singing about slapping asses, or don't care. Maybe both.

So I figured have full pedi they would do better. I told them then that build up of gel needed removed like any other place I have gone. Apparently that is not the way they do it I was told. I told them to soak off the old gel and they looked like I was crazy. They did try but still did not get the gel off. I thanked her for trying but said the gel was still there. I finished pedi so another layer. I even told them about gel removable that's easy that I have seen used before. Bottom line they do not remove old gel before applying more. Just take top layer off and keep going. I will not be back. Can't even imagine build up on your fingernails.

We walked in to a nicely decorated and clean salon, and were greeted with a friendly smile. I should mention that it was a little difficult to communicate because Cindy speaks very little English. But really, that was a non-issue for me simply because she was genuinely sweet and accommodating and did everything right. My hunt for a great nail salon is over.
