I try many nail salons. It's rare I find one where there isint constant chatter between the workers. I want to relax and unwind but instead I have to listen to them carry on long conversations. It's not necessary and will prevent me from returning. If you want a decent tip, then focus on my feet and not your conversation, especially in a language I don't understand. read more

Pam nails is the best bang for your buck. They offer a punch card so after 4 visits you get $10 off service. Their pedicures are $30 for the deluxe with paraffin dips, a nice mint leg massage, and attention to detail. They are always very clean, polite, and it is a good visit. This is an absolute nail farm. I went the first time because I heard pretty good things on Nextdoor Review and thought I'd give them a try for Easter for a new set for me and a gel manicure for my daughter. My nails lifted off within 2 weeks and the gels lasted a few days longer. Not that impressed but decided to give it another go. I called for an appointment for a new set today. Waited 30 minutes before I was called to the chair. Waited another 10 minutes in the chair when I finally came to my senses and decided to leave. They asked and I explained, however I will not go back again. Also, not the cleanest place. read more

Woof woof!!! Can someone say barking dogs? I finished a 4 mile hike and yep my dogs were barking, so I decided to try this unassuming nail salon that is hidden away across from Intel Let me preface the following by saying I have NEVER gotten a quality pedicure in Burque without paying a fortune. I don't bother with most salons as the service usually is sub par. I have now found THE nail spa! Prices are fair...what I pay when I travel for a pedi. The salon is clean, bright and does not smell like most nail salons. As I walked in the staff greeted me with warm hellos and asked how they could help me. I was in awe of how quiet it was on Sunday, but I was later told that a crowd would be arriving later in the day. (they do take appointments--I saw a large ledger and a woman--Pam(?) scheduling one of the 'regulars") The pedicure chairs appear to be new and very clean...the entire salon is VERY clean! Lots of polish choices ( I brought my own) I was showed to the first chair..next to the adorable Hello Kitty chair for the little kids. As the tub was being filled I settled into my chair massage. I was greeted by Tony (I started to cringe...I really do not like men giving me pedicures but I though--ok give this place a chance) He quickly asked how the water temp was and if I wanted a regular or deluxe pedicure. He then explained the differences, but not the price. As I said before my feet where calling for help, so deluxe it was! A soak in the warms sudsy water, polish removal, and a super cuticle clean up. Not to gross anyone out but my nail bed is curved..prone to ingrown nails I've been told..Tony was so gentle but incredibly thorough in his task. No pain, no nipping of the skin, and constant cleaning of the tools with disinfectant. Tony continually asked if I was ok..just to make sure the pressure was not too much. Next was the exfoliation...ticklish? a bit? well my giggles warranted an apology. My lower legs were also treated to a scrub...peppermint gel and sugar(?) scrub was refreshing. A mud mask on my calves and warm paraffin on my feet..only to be covered with warm moist towels. AHHH Then my calves and feet were treated to the "reflexology" Lots of rose scented lotion and a serious rub down. Calves, shins, ankles, toes are so very happy right now! My tootsies are beautiful. The polish expertly applied and cleaned up any minor errors This is what I have been missing! At $32 including tax this was well worth an HOUR of my time! yes an hour! (BTW the chair massage was kept running the entire time---no stoppage for the polish) I am thrilled at the quality of service here. Tony is a magician! Brought my daughter here because she wanted a new set, it was on the way into town and the reviews were decent as well as prices. The lady who did her nails was really pushy when we told her just regular polish. She was very insistent on gel and that it last longer, which I'm well aware of however we know what we wanted. She cut her fingers in several places and was still making comments about how gel polish would dry faster. Had my daughter told me before we left that comments were being thrown around I would have brought it to her attention and not have left such a great tip. Their pricing needs to be updated on services that are posted here on Yelp, they are not accurate. I think the staff needs to be understanding and accepting on what their customers want and ask for. I won't go anywhere else... my nails were done almost 3 weeks ago. They havent come off and they last for a long time, I work in a call center and normally they would come off and they have lasted forever, I get gel and I love it. When I go in everyone there nows I use pinterest, I show them the picture and they look identical to what I find on pinterest they are the only place that can do it. It's very inexpensive and they do a good job, everyone is very nice they speak alot of English they are the BEST!! read more

I have never really had a problem with any nail salon I've gone to. However the lady who did my nails here wasn't very good at all. Not only did she cut my fingers numerous times with the hand piece she was using, but she also cut me with scissors and laughed when I said ow and pulled away. Another thing was that one of my nails was completely crooked. I told her a number of times that the nail wasn't straight, but she insisted that it was. Went here a couple times the first time they did my nails very nice. The time before last my nails were uneven. Then the last time I went I was going to get my nails off because my work required my to get my nails off and even tho multiple times I told her I wanted JUST my nails off the lady kept pressuring me to get a new manicure after I said more then five times I do not want my nails done !The lady didn't even properly take my nails off there were still chunks of gel polish left.Nice people just aggravating won't be back. read more

I had high hopes after hearing good things about this place, but was very much let down. I called ahead about a week and made an appointment for my sisters and I. We waited 45 minutes before being seated to start. Walk in customers came in and were helped before us, because they were regulars. We were there for a total of 2.5 hours. Ridiculous!!! All this time waiting and we had scheduled appointments! The woman who did my nails insulted me purposely several different times. Her reason for being upset with me? My refusal to get a more expensive manicure. I went with my sisters, and they said the people who did their nails were very friendly. I just seem to be the one who got the bad egg. She didn't even do everything that the manicure was supposed to come with. She pretty much painted my nails and told me to sit under the nail light and forgot about me. Oh, and did I mention she was on the phone half the time she was doing my nails, painted my skin, and smudged them and didn't fix them? Save yourself the 2.5 hours and money. Just left Pam Nail Spa in Rio Rancho, NM & I am not satisfied with their customer service; on many accounts. First when the nail tech asked if I wanted gel & I did not they seemed like they weren't interested in doing a good job. Second on the Menu/Services provided board that hangs on the wall states on the bottomed left: "All Manicures & Pedicures come with paraffin sea salt hot towel". I did both a manicure & pedicure; but on the manicure I did not get the for mention services. Now being that it is now fall in NM the climate is rough on ones' skin & my hands could have benefitted from the exfoliation & paraffin wax. Maybe if the nail techs weren't preoccupied with their cell phones, conversations between them selves, & watching TV they might remember what services to provide in their job description. And finally I used nail polish and when all was said & done my nails looked like I had new growth; the nail tech did not bring the color all the way to the base of the nail. If I did not shake so much I could paint my own nails but that is not the case; so I have someone else do it. In fact I pay for my nails to be painted & now after paying for a bad service I get to remove my nail polish when I get home because they look horrible. read more
