My nail tech Richelle relocated to this salon. I was expecting the typical walk in and overwhelmed with chairs and waiting people. To my surprise, I was greeted with a bottle of water and sat in the waiting area. The mani and pedi areas are separated which allows for a conversation level with your tech or friends. I also noticed they keep cleaning logs and have everything labeled for clean or dirty. This impressed me because other salons dont keep their equipment sanitized. All the staff was super nice and the facility is not crowded or cluttered. This is definitely a salon I'll be returning to. read more

It's so disappointing when you have to update a review from exceptional to 'meh', but that is exactly what has happened with this salon. The previous owner had a good thing going (Dena, Pacific Nails). It was lovely, clean, relaxing, and full of talented and friendly faces who clearly enjoyed working together and took pride in the place as a team. Whether you walked in or had an appointment, everyone greeted you. It was extremely rare to not be seen. This salon was sold in...fall? of 2022 (it is now Roadrunner Beauty), and those friendly faces have finally started to move on one-by-one with the arrival of the new year. It feels like only a matter of time before there is full turnover, including their clients. What used to be a reliable calm space with classic relaxing spa music has now become the equivalent of Facebook advertisements vomiting all over a salon to the sound of outrageously loud bro-country. No joke, I had my nails done to HONKY TONK BADONKADONK the last time I was there. On such a high volume that I could not hear my nail tech. And the only reason I've been seen, is I make an appointment personally with my favorite tech. I can't tell you how many people I've watched turned away or had their appointments they made with the new staff be wrong. The new owner has removed almost every décor item in the place and replaced it with an advertisement for a quick-fix medical procedure. Advertisements run on the televisions, and are shoved on standing posters between almost every piece of furniture. The atmosphere is almost as abrasive as the teen daughter of the owner that now runs the front desk most days. I've never seen someone struggle to answer a phone or greet people as much as this young woman does. She clearly doesn't want to be there, and she'll make you not want to be there either. Even when set up beautifully by a nail tech to upsell the services they've plastered around the place, I watched her scowl while yelling at the tech, "Oh my god it's on the website just tell her to look at it there." Nearly 5 minutes later she realized the person he was referring to was sitting in front of him, because she bothered to look up from her phone. Needless to say that customer was no longer interested in speaking with her when she ran over to not actually apologize. Also, this is why none of the staff respects her. She's a brat. If you've had the displeasure of being in the salon at the same time as the new owner, you'll see that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. The very first time I saw her in her new salon she was "holding court" with her entourage around her loudly speaking about how her new employees had better impress her. Apparently she didn't realize that she was making an impression herself, and it was quite poor. If you're a long time customer, I recommend you get your favorite techs contact information for when they leave to work somewhere nicer. If you've never been here before - I recommend you try a different place. The new staff isn't going to answer the phone if you call anyway. They either can't hear it ringing over Luke Combs singing about slapping asses, or don't care. Maybe both. read more

tried to get an appt right before my sons wedding.. the venue ffor the henna party called and they needed me to come in to bring in some stuff. I'm set up the venue. I had to change my appointment to the next day at 9 AM my wife my daughter wanted to come with me so I called the spa again and asked them if there's an appointment for two so they moved it to that same day in the afternoon at two then out of nowhere the technician( Vivian) calls me and says that she cannot do my nails at 2. So disappointing, I've been going to this nail salon for a few years now and ever since the new owners have taken over it's gone down hill. It was always nice because they had a wall separating the pedis from the manis and it would be quiet and relaxing. Now they've removed the wall to add more rooms for their med spa part. However, what frustrates me the most is the lack in price transparency and over booking. Every time I go the price is different for the same service or lack of service. Nothing fancy costs the same amount as the more expensive pedicure and prices are not posted, I honestly believe they make it up as they go along. In addition, overbooking, you make an appointment, but I can never get in on time or someone made a special appointment through the person and not going through the salon. Nothing special about this nail salon just liked to go because it was close to where I work and live. Now it makes sense why Ive been hearing coworkers and friends tell me why they won't go back. read more

If I could do negative stars I would give it a negative 3 for acrylic nails and a 4 for a delux pedicure. I went in to do a pedi and get acrylic nails. The pedi was super nice and relaxing, but the massage chair did not work well. It's the cleanest nail salon which is a plus and I would consider going back just for the pedi. The acrylic nails were the worst experience I've had in my life getting them... The guy messed up 3 times and would sand them down and take them off over and over again. It got to a point where I asked him to stop and just take them off so I could leave. He sanded my nails so much that it started burning and now my nails are so frail that they are bending and breaking. After 3 hours of being there I left with a pedi, burnt, frail, and no acrylic finger nails. And they still charged me full price. Beware! Almost left after waiting for 30 minutes in between and they told me to have a seat for another 10-15 minutes! Finally a lady worked on my nails. Was there for 3 hours! They say they take walkins but beware of what I went through. They shouldn't start on you anticipating someone else to arrive. They also will set you to soak and the take up to 30 minutes to get started on you. So if you have other plans also beware! I won't go back, also overpriced for no reason. While out and about I had seen another person's nails that were very pretty and she told me they were done at Roadrunner Nails. I made an appointment a week in advance. When I arrived today they were short handed and only had two technicians and took 2 walk ins 5 minutes prior to my appointment time. As I was about to leave, another technician entered (she left her other nail salon to come help this one) so I stayed and she started my pedicure. The pedicure was good, but the entire facility smells horribly of sulfur/ sewage, and the smell never left. My technician and the other technicians chatted non stop, not paying much mind to the customers (myself included). Then I went to the tech's station and noticed the lack of overall cleanliness of the facility. The front desk associate, Ariel, spent the entire time I was there working on her hair, being on her phone, or visiting with her boyfriend (who I met on my way to the bathroom as he was sitting hidden in a walkway). She could have easily been cleaning - mopping, dusting, wiping down seats... something. My gel manicure is ok, but there is still a lot of polish on my skin. The only reason I'm giving this nail salon 2 stars instead of 1 is because it's a gorgeous nail salon. Ya know what, I can't. It was just awful. 1 star. However... For a short story, it was the most expensive manicure and pedicure I've ever had and the worst manicure and pedicure I've ever had! Long story... They upsold you without telling you they were up selling you. They spoke the least amount of English I've ever had with nail techs, so much so that they use that as a form of miscommunication for why the prices were so high. We were there for a bridal appointment with the bride and a couple of the bridesmaids. And as gorgeous as the place was, looked very bridal and fancy, it was nowhere near as expensive as it should have been! The brides nails were so expensive for an ombre set and a pedicure... But get this, the crappy pedicure was even more expensive than her gorgeous ombre acrylic set that she got. At first they weren't going to have any of us sit together, which baffled me! I mean, we were there as a group. The nail techs were not personable at all and were even rude about the fact that I just got a simple manicure and pedicure, and not a set of acrylics. Awful! Went there for the first time on Thursday. My friend made our appointment for 2 acrylic manicures and we were so disappointed with the end result. We paid $70 for half effort work. They were impatient with us picking nail colors, even though no one else was there! They also didn't have the color we picked, and instead of telling us, they tried making their own nail polish which ended up being terrible and clumpy! We went back the next day to get them fixed, they disregarded the fact that they did a terrible job and then continued to charge an extra $10 for them to fix their crappy job. When I walked in I had 2 broken nails, and my dip polish had started chipping away on my hands. All I did was pick a color for my toes and was seated for my pedicure right away. As I was sitting there they started taking off my old dip powder. I showed a picture off of Pinterest of what I wanted for my hands on a new dip and it was done. Walked out 1.5 hours later with my fresh pedicure, and my hands so much better. Fixed both broken nails and the best dip work I have had. If there was zero stars that's what I would give. I gave this nail salon a chance after calling around looking for hard gel; they were one of the few who offered it. I left with the thick hooves about 1/4 inch thick, which were lumpy and not one nail was shaped the same. I left with cuts from the drill. More than a waste of time and money, I've had to treat 4 fingers with open cuts. I came in with the perfect nails that were just grown out looking to keep the same shape and product I had been use too. However I left with unrecognizable hands that looked like I had attempted the job myself with no experience and paid over $50 for. I went to Luxury nails 4 days later upon referral and had them removed, it took 30 min just to remove the excessive product they were shocked at the lack of quality. read more

Terrible job on my nails and absolutely no customer service. The girl working on my nails wasn't even licensed!!! Here's what happened: My friend and I came in on a Monday afternoon for a manicure and possibly a pedicure if they weren't too busy. There were 5 customers in various stages of of treatment when we entered. Even though all the girls were busy with clients they told us to take a seat and that they would be with us right away. I knew this meant we were going to sit around for a while and settled in one of the manicure stations. The 3 or 4 'technicians' would work on one client and then move to the next. In the end I had 3 different people work on me. Eventually it was our turn. Or at least my friend's turn. I still had to wait another 10 minutes. I was getting impatient and took off my own nail polish while waiting. Finally when the girl started on me she kept jabbing my cuticle with her sharp metal tool. I told her it hurt and she was more careful. I noticed that the tools she used were not sterilized either. She would just open random drawers for whatever she needed and would drop the used tool back in without a thought. eeewww! When she started to apply the polish they did this weird thing where they would only do the pinky nail, tell you to put it under the light and then do the pinky on the other hand. They would alternate back and forth only doing one or two fingers at a time instead of the all of the nails on one hand. The nails looked terrible! They were uneven and bumpy and some had little bubbles. When I pointed this out to the girl she told me that the top coat would hide all of it. I told her that I have had my nails done and that a top coat wasn't going to do anything. Another girl came over and tried to fix the nails but ended up taking everything off. She was going to start all over again but I was done with them by this time. I got up and left. The second girl stopped me and told me I owed them $14 for the manicure. I asked what manicure? I took off my own polish and sat around for someone to jab me with shape metal objects! That's when I asked to see the license of the girls working on me. No one had one to show. If they are cutting corners by hiring unlicensed "technicians" I'm sure they are cutting corners in other places too. Unsanitary and Unprofessional. Never again! read more

I like this place. They are always friendly and usually fast. They do get busy and ask you to wait but those times are predictable. Anyone who hasn't waited at a nail salon is a very lucky soul. Been going there for a few years. As time sent on, new nail techs were a revolving door, but with each one, they kept getting ruder and ruder. I continued going (I know my own fault) My last and final straw was when a new nail tech did a full set on me, and it wasn't the amateur job he did but the absolute cattiness when I insisted on soaking them off. I was already annoyed since I was taken almost 45 min later. But honestly, the nail direction wasn't even straight and instead of curving down, they curved up!! But as I said the final straw was the owner Dinas reaction. She told him to soak them all off YET began talking about me. Yes it was in a foreign language but everyone of them looking at me with disgust on their faces. After all my business, along with my family, I absolutely didn't let them do another set on me and that will be my last time I will ever step foot in there nor recommend them to any stranger! Do yourself a favor, if you wanna be treated like shit I'm sure you can find a better place than this! Yes they're in a new building and it's rather nice but honestly what a waste, they need to learn how to treat people with more respect. So let me start by saying I usually ignore reviews because a lot of the times they seem unfair, I have worked in the customer service field for many years and some times there's just review trolls, or very unsatisfied people with life in general so they make others life impossible. With that said, I would suggest not coming to this place. I found it on a google search after work and since I was in need of some pampering with 1.5hour wait before I got home I went in with mindset to get a mani pedi. I had to divide it since the pedicure took forever. My first tech was super nice and accommodating, she did a wonderful job on my feet and they were really bad so I'm not giving them bad remarks based on time cause my feet needed that and more to get them looking like human feet again. The price however is nuts! I paid 76 with tax and gratuity included for just a pedi it's a ridiculous price but I did get all the bells and whistles they had to offer. On my second visit however it was a total nightmare, I didn't get the same tech which is my bad for not scheduling an appointment, the tech I got on my second visit kept insisting I get a design I did not want and everything I asked for she could not do, I finally caved and just asked if she could at least do the same design on my toes with Gel (which is an additional 25 btw) she removed the polish hundreds of times and painted everywhere, the job was really sloppy, not only that I got excessive time under the lamp since she would make me put my hand in every time she applied polish to ONE nail, after a painful almost 2 hours for a gel manicure I get home and the gel wasn't even done right, I end up paying 43 for a gel manicure and it lasted hours. I was so disappointed and quite frankly very upset. Never going here again, like EVER, just beware. read more

I've been to this salon before when Shalena used to work there and it was wonderful then. Sadly, she quit and I moved to another state. But yesterday, being back in town for a week, I took my sister there for her birthday nails by Dina. She rushed her through and cut up 6 of her nails and she hated them and was in pain after. I wasn't going to write this review in the first place because I thought maybe they were having an off day but then something else happened. I was getting a pedicure and gave my card to the man who did my toes. I said to charge my card while I was letting my toes dry and I didn't watch him do it (which was stupid, I know). Today, I got a call from my bank saying someone tried to spend $80 on my card at Smiths on Yale Ave and they were calling to confirm it was me. It wasn't. And the only time I have used my card since being back to Albuquerque, was at this salon. So, they stole my card information and tried to spend money using my card numbers. Now I don't know who did it, but either way, my card information should not have been recorded. This is ridiculous..
