On a recent road trip from St. George to Salt Lake City we stopped at Beaver Taco 2, (not the free standing big restaurant -- the one inside the convenience store at the gas station/truck stop) So, I had read a few reviews and one person commented on the shrimp tacos so I gave them a try! I must say, the shrimp were tender, plump and perfectly cooked and topped with a delicious white sauce, which was very complementary; these tacos tacos were absolutely delicious! My husband had Carnitas tacos and he enjoyed them. Fresh cut ripe tomatoes, lettuce, avocado, and lime. We enjoyed it so much that we stopped again on our way back!But this time, it was close to closing (a few minutes before 10 PM) but they were welcoming and took our order and made 4 tacos from scratch, and everything was delicious! Yummy horchata too! I'd definitely recommend stopping on your way between St. George and Salt Lake City for yummy tacos. I'm sure the rest of the food is very good as well but that's what we ate.

Quick Rating: Pulled into the Beaver Pilot / Flying J with my rig today. Found a rather hidden Taco Place without a direct entrance from the adjacent gas station. They look like they're doing some light construction, remodeling the place. I asked if they had any Al Pastor Tacos, and the closest thing they offered was the adobada. Close enough. So put in an order for 2 lengua (Beef Tongue) tacos and 1 Adobada and wasn't expecting too much--- being that everywhere you go in Los Angeles at night there's a taco stand in every curbside and corner. Here's the verdict: Portions were huge, which for the price to portion ratio, it made sense each taco was 5.00 versus LA Street prices 2.00-2.50/ per. The soft taco skin was corn tortillas not flour, and the beef tongues were leaning on the overdone side of the spectrum. It was good, just a bit overcooked. The adobada pork was marinated very well, like a Birria base but with pork. Enjoyed this snack. What really stood out with the tacos were the fresh tomatoes garnished with the tacos, the onions, fresh, and with the adobada, they even gave it a touch of guac to even out the richness from the fats. I want to recommend to everyone their Salsa Roja, if you are a true heat lover, love all things spicy, the Salsa Roja is a must try; the salsa Verde, I'm not too much of a fan, but I don't see why they shouldnt start selling Salsa Rojas in those Mason Jars. Very happy with my decision to detour into Beaver, take a break here and explore this establishment tucked into the corner of the gas station.

Great little spot out in Utah! Super fast and friendly service! I ordered the enchilada plate and an asada torta! Both were delicious!! The torta bread was so tasty and I got the enchiladas with both chicken and cheese. Definitely recommend stopping here.

We kept hearing about how amazing the churros at Beaver Taco were... so finally we stopped by to try them. The verdict: they are delicious. Particularly at their low price point. Also they have a drive thru and it's next to the gas station, so if you want a quick treat during your travels this is a smart stop. I also got a California burrito. It was average so I'll probably order something else next time.

When you see a sign on the highway advertising fresh tacos in a town called Beaver, who wouldn't want to stop by and check it out. I gotta say, I love me some Beaver Taco! This is a nice hidden gem just off highway 15 in Beaver, Utah. We were on a long road trip and stopped in for lunch. Beaver Taco has a nice selection of Mexican cuisine favorites including menudo on the weekends. Beaver Taco makes really good tacos. It's always a treat when you can find good tacos in a small town. The service was really nice here. I got me some pastor and carne asada tacos and enjoyed every bite. They also have a condiment bar if you want extra toppings for your tacos.

On a recent roadtrip up to SLC, I stopped by for a grab and go kind of dinner before heading to the Supercharger on the other side of the highway. Everyone orders the Breakfast Burrito, so why not? I went with the mixed which included eggs, cheese, potatoes, Bacon, Ham and Sausage. The burrito was the standard size and was folded well, so it held together through the entire eating experience. I asked them to put the red hot salsa inside to make the Togo just that much easier, but they failed to do so. Luckily, I asked for some on my way out. The burrito was pretty good and if traditional breakfast burrito style, but nothing I'd consider special. Their Red Hot Salsa was just that hot. Not so hot that it was unbearable, but hot enough to make your nose drip. The Pina Colada Agua Fresca was super sweet and almost syrupy. We ended up having to suck some down and then add some water to make it not so...

Let's be real in a small town like Beaver where from the freeway if you blink you might miss it you need a catchy name. Is is it classy? May be not, but catchy it is. We stopped by early morning to pick up breakfast burritos before heading into the canyon. It smelled delicious. Service was quite slow to acknowledge and help me at the counter once inside, but they did apologize and had my food made quickly. The green sauce I received with my meal was subpar for me, but the bacon burrito was amazing without sauce. It was large enough to keep me full for hours. The location was clean and also offers a drive thru.

I was really excited to try out Beaver Taco. The place was jampacked and they prepared the food very quickly. I got some street tacos and they didn't have a whole lot of flavor. I didn't care for the salsa flavors. I guess I should've tried a chimichanga instead. They have a fun wooden beaver statue. You can get your picture out front.

Sooooo pleasantly surprised!!! When I was trying to decide what to order I asked the cashier what was inside the carne asada burrito and she said guacamole and salsa and I was very confused because I have never had a burrito without a bunch of other fillers like rice, beans, etc. Even though I was skeptical and was sure she was wrong or misunderstood me, I ordered a mix of carne asada and carnitas burrito. My husband ordered a mix of lengua (tongue) and shrimp burrito . She did say his comes with some rice which he asked for it on the side. When I tell you that my burrito was really only filled with meat and just enough guacamole and salsa, that was the truth. It was big and delicious!!! My husband's burrito was also really good. Their mild tomatillo salsa went great with it. I also ordered a churro, even though to be honest I haven't REALLY enjoyed a churro since going to Brazil where they fill it with dulce de leche or other fillings, but again, it was delicious!!! It was hot, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with the perfect amount of sugar. Not at all dry and overpowered with sugar and cinnamon. My husband had heard this place was good and we were just passing through Beaver towards North Utah. I wish this place was closer to where I live. I'll definitely will be stopping here again when we are traveling this way. Btw, the burrito was only $8.50 and the churro $2. A great value for sure.

It's important to consider the context when judging a restaurant based on its star ratings. We ordered "rolled tacos" plate which was taquitos. A chicken enchilada plate and a chimichanga plate. The tortillas were extremely bland and stale. The meat was overcooked and tough. My daughter ordered a placed a single order of a churro which took almost 10 min. The horchata was a cheap knockoff and not homemade like you'd get at Cafe Rio. The staff was friendly. While this may be the best option in Beaver, Utah, it certainly pales in comparison to something as commercialized as Taco Time. I'd keep driving for anything else that you can find. read more

I have heard amazing things about this place from my friends who drive past all the time. It lived up to the standard! I had 3 mini tacos (asada, adobada, carnita). They were delicious! The salsa bar is awesome (they even had the pickled peppers, onions and carrots which are my favorite) Churros are great as well. read more

I'm from Phoenix and I'm a complete snob when it comes to authentic Mexican. The farther I get from the boarder the less faith I have in Mexican restaurants. But this place was great. Had a chicken burrito and carnitas tacos. Both meats had great flavor, tortillas were perfect, good salsa... and the prices? 2 bucks for a taco and 5 bucks for the most expensive burrito. That's unheard of in AZ. I'll be hitting this place up every time I drive through. read more

We got the carne asada burrito plate and the kids quesadilla with fries. The guy who took our order was super nice, but the food not so much. The beans were mostly runny bean mush, the cheese was rubbery, and the meat in the burrito was greasy and gristly and lacked a flavor that wasn't overpowered by the onion. The tortilla and fries were the only edible things. And worth mentioning, the bathrooms were a nightmare. No toilet paper in one and pee all over the other. It was super gross. All in all, don't eat there, don't pee there. read more

Well worth the stop off I-15 in Beaver Utah if you are hungry for some pretty darn good Mexican food. We had the chicken taco salad and some taquitos which were delicious. We will for sure be back on our next trip to Utah. read more

Who would have known that the best burrito I've ever had would be in Beaver, UT?! Seriously, I've never had a better carnitas burrito anywhere else. Not only did the meat taste fresh and delicious, so did the handmade tortilla. Thanks to Beaver Taco, I don't have to eat at some fast food place on my road trip. I will now make it a tradition to always stop here on every road trip I take southward. Love you guys! read more

All hilarity surrounding the name aside, this place is a damn good option in the vast food desert that is I-15 as it runs through Utah. We had two carne asada burritos and a kids corn dog and everything was excellent. Personally, I prefer my carne asada to have a bit more seasoning (hence the reason I dropped a star...), but it was oh-so-tender and absolutely PACKED into the tortilla - making for a surprisingly high return on my meat investment. My kid loved his corn dog (he's picky about Mexican food) and the couple of fries (ok...fist-full...) I stole from his plate actually ranked damn near the top of my list of all-time great food items purloined from his plate. We live in Southern California, so we KNOW Mexican food...and I can confidently say that will definitely be back on future trips to and from Colorado/Wyoming! read more

Stopped in for a Chorizo and Machaca Breakfast Burritos on our way back to SLC after a weekend camping. It was just want we needed to fuel our ride home. It has a drive thru, but I would recommend stoping to eat inside so you can take advantage of the yummy salsa bar. Would definitely stop in again on another road trip through Beaver, UT. read more

We stopped here for lunch on a road trip. The place was clean and the staff was very friendly. The food variety was great. The prices were very reasonable and the portions were large. The carne asada fries were tasty. The enchilada was covered with a lot of lettuce. I like some lettuce, but lost most of my sauce by taking some of the lettuce off. Overall, we would stop there again. read more

Worst Mexican food we've ever had. My husband ordered a chicken burrito and they charged him a dollar for adding the watered down thing they called guacamole even though it seemed the burritos already come with it. They also charged him a dollar each for the addition of a spoonful of rice and beans to his burrito, without telling him until we saw the bill later. We ended up throwing away the $4 guacamole. It was a super blended watered down thing. The salsa bar tasted like it was taken directly from a can. read more

We were traveling and saw the recommendations on Yelp. We love Mexican food so decided to stop. We both ordered the Carne Asada plate which comes with beans and rice. The beef was very flavorful. We both loved the beans. There is a salsa bar. A big basket of chips are under $3. Wish I could jar up the salsa and take it home with me. Some of the best I have ever had. I highly recommend Beaver Taco! read more

I have been coming here since it opened and have touted the quality of the food. Today though was a huge disappointment. I ordered the carnitas burrito and to my dismay had the worst burrito experience of my life. The meat was gristle, fat and something I couldn't identify. To top it off the beans were made with rancid lard and wafted of spoiled fat. I think there was a joint (knuckle) I spit out. I will not be going back anytime soon or at least until my memory fails. read more

This place was an unexpected find. We were hungry on our way to Grand Junction, and Beaver was the only town for a while, so we stopped. We ordered a few different things: a carnitas burrito, a ground beef plate, a chile relleno and some churros. The carnitas burrito was very good, the beef plate good, and the chile relleno adequate. The churros, though, were really quite fantastic. They were cooked perfectly: crispy on the outside, but still gooey on the inside. Yum. read more

I ordered 2 carnitas tacos no salsa. They got my order wrong twice. The guy at the register looked at me as if I did something wrong. Finally got the tacos and they were sitting in grease. Could only eat one. By the time we got to Barstow,Ca. I got really sick to my stomach. Won't eat there again. read more

Legit tacos and salsa! This was a great find after a long day on the road. It was pretty quick, very friendly, and so nice to get some real food instead of your average fast food. Right off the freeway; will definitely stop again the next time we're in town. read more

Having worked and traveled in Mexico, it was surprising to find authentic Mexican food in Beaver, Utah. The tacos and chili releno were delicious. The restaurant was very clean, comfortable and decorated with authentic and tasteful decorations. The service was prompt and friendly. We will definitely have them on our "for sure" stop on I15 . read more

Being from LA, i've had more than my fair share of delicious Mexican food so my review is for what you can probably get in the area. I ordered a carne asada burrito. Really huge portion, meat ( kinda salty) , guac , onions etc... all good. No fillers like rice and beans in the burrito which is a good thing. Very clean restaurant and bathrooms. i would definitely stop again when in the area on my way to NPs read more

The food is delicious. The service is horrible. Came in at 8:30pm and was told we need to take our food to go because they close at 9pm. At 9pm is when we received our food and immediately after, the woman turned the dining room lights off. Super rude and considering we spent close to $100 there this evening. Probably will go elsewhere during our stay in Beaver and when visiting in the future. read more

We had the hit variety. So good. My wife had the chicken enchilada, beans and rice. I had the Chili Releno. It comes with 2 Chilis rice and beans. What a great dish when done right and they do it right here. This is Mexican comfort food at its best. Chicken enchilada was pretty big, stuffed with tender chicken. Beans were the kind you cook for hours to achieve the nice background flavors. Service was warm and friendly. They close down first of November till end of February. If in town search them out. It's well worth the trek off the beaten freeway path. Yummy!!!

She's like the Valerie's soul of the restaurant. I kid you not. She knows all her regulars order and is always serving with a smile. Also when she's working with whom I assume is her regular staff, you can always count on the condiment tables to be stocked, til it gets around the evening time. The ambiance of the restaurant is pretty simple, nothing to extravagant, but it is welcoming nonetheless. The food? I mainly come here for the Menudo (the girl who I was just talking about will immediately know who I am LoL) but yes, the menudo. My homegirl told me about menudo, and now Valerie's is my plug for that. It's flavored to my liking, which I deeply appreciate. Do understand that sometimes you may get more bones and cartilage than the cow honeycomb tripe. So ask if you could not get that bones and stuff? I haven't, but I don't think it'll hurt to ask. I like the crew that makes my menudo, so I accept it no matter what I get. If you are drunk off your behind, then baby, come on down to Valerie's for some pretty okay food. I'm not a huge fan of tacos and such, but they're menudo is *chefs kiss* in my opinion. So I can only give my opinion on that. As well as the service. Don't forget to tip them! If a cashier remembers my order off the bat, that means 1, I'm a big back, 2, they are that versed in knowing what I want, and 3, I'm a big back. K bye!

Well, there claim is pretty legit. Very legit. It's an unassuming place with unassuming prices that buy you great food and friendly service. Seriously, like way back when friendly service and prices. We had the hand cut fries, a patty melt and bacon jalapeño burger--both with side salads--and a drink...all for $35. The burgers and fries were great. I just wish we would have saved room for the $3 milkshake or the $3 slice of made-today pie. A definite dont miss if you're driving I-15 in the Beehive State!
