I'm a believer after having the home made salads dressing and salads made fresh and their beef stroganoff. Wife said "that was a really good salad and I rarely compliment a salad". The stroganoff was made from scratch and surprising creamy w decent cuts of beef. Both orders came with home made Focaccia bread! The have an open prep area and when we walked in the had just baked dessert and in process of cutting it. A busy prep area suggesting pride in what they do and make!.. sorry no pics of the food, we were too hungry.

I've been dying to try this place after reading the reviews and am so glad I finally did. The food is fresh, unique, and flavorful. Definitely not your average menu. The serving sizes are massive. Not expensive at all. REAL FOOD - which is so hard to find at restaurants in these small towns. This place exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to try more items from the menu. A must try in my opinion!

The fries and shakes were good, but the burgers were terrible. My wife's burger came with everything and although there was ketchup on the table the burger was swimming in ketchup and mustard. Mine was the "Cowboy" and came with fried onions, and the onions were so overdone, breaded, and SALTED that they were no longer onions. I removed the onions and ate what was left. I think the beef had some funky filler in it because it was packed tight and not loose like hamburger, and it tasted like it had oats or something in it. Both of us felt like the burger was with us all night, if you know what I mean. The staff needed some training but tried hard. I'd like to see this place succeed, but the prices were high and the cook needs to take some lessons.

It came hot, juicy and very delicious. I tried the Spicy Fries which were sprinkled with a spicy chili powder. They were darn good. My Wife had the Turkey bacon sandwich. It was loaded with meat and she said it was very good. We had 7 in our party and no complaints. They had regular customers ordering meals and kept up with the large amount of orders. Most places would be buried with this amount of business. Kudos to the staff. Great food and friendly service. Would highly recommend and will stop in next time in the area. See pics of our meal. Oh and we had an amazing Dole Whip treat afterwards. Yummy

The steak came out well seasoned and cooked exactly the way I ordered it, the baked potato was great, and the fresh vegetables (yellow squash, young green beans, and carrots) were excellent. Cooked exactly right and not cooked to mush. My wife had the Bistro Filets with garlic shrimp. The bacon-wrapped filets were quite large and cooked medium rare exactly as ordered. The two shrimp were just okay. Our server was Amanda, and she was awesome! She just did a really good job to take good care of us. Attentive, funny, and efficient. Now the Inn review: Our King room with jetted tub was a really good room. Spacious, with a great view to the east from a small balcony. The sunrise from that balcony is awesome. We could have done without the always -on nightlight in the bathroom, which is way too bright. The air conditioner was efficient, though a little noisy. The giant jetted tub was a real treat, though. Unfortunately, it was a little bigger than their hot water supply was designed for. Still very comfortable and nice though.

My room was meticulously clean, and keeping in the western theme, well appointed. I wanted for nothing. Except for a peaceful night's rest. That I got. My room was quiet and the bed comfortable. Though the building was full, every room occupied, I didn't hear a sound from my neighbors. Either there's excellent insulation, or the adjacent rooms housed church mice. Not a squeak was heard. A hearty breakfast awaits after you're finished with your dreams. Take advantage of it. It'll provide the energy you'll need for the days adventures. Broken Spur will be a pleasant memory. We stayed at Big Rock Candy Mountain Resort in one of the train car units in October, and it was…read moreeasily one of the most disappointing lodging experiences we've ever had -- especially for the price (nearly $800 for three nights). From the moment we walked in, it was obvious the unit hadn't been properly cleaned or maintained in a long time. There was thick dust buildup, cobwebs in corners and on light fixtures, and visible grime on multiple surfaces -- even the inside of the front door. We found a dirty sock on the floor and an empty tissue box shoved under the TV. The bed frame was broken, kitchen countertop was broken with large amounts of grout missing, several lamps didn't work, and overall, the train car felt run-down and neglected. It wasn't just the unit. The entire property looked uncared for. The sprinklers outside our window pounded against the glass at 2 a.m., waking us up and forcing us to go outside in the dark to fix them ourselves. The convenience store was rundown, the soda fountain machine didn't work, and there was no coffee so we had to drive 10 miles each morning just to get coffee. There is NO restaurant on site. They sell gas station nachos and hotdogs. They advertise Starlink satellite internet but there are only hotspots around the property. I reported the state of the unit to staff upon checkout and followed up with photos afterward. Instead of taking responsibility, management chose to minimize our experience and referenced a supposed "strict no refund policy" that doesn't appear anywhere on their website or in the confirmation email. When the owners finally responded, they brushed off everything as a matter of "personal standards" and stated "after reviewing all the facts in the situation, a 10% refund seems appropriate, if not generous". The resort is now under new management, and it shows. The focus seems to be entirely on increasing revenue, not maintaining the property or caring for guests. The way they've handled our situation -- dodging responsibility, minimizing our experience, and inventing policies to avoid accountability -- says everything about their priorities. For a place that advertises itself as a "resort," the experience was anything but. The property is in disrepair, the cleanliness is unacceptable, and the management clearly cares more about money than the people spending it. Save yourself the disappointment -- this place is not worth your time or your money. The photos I've attached speak for themselves.
