Swedish massage, medium, not too hard. Most massage spas offer soft, medium, or hard pressures. I prefer soft to medium. That's exactly what I ask with Susan and that is what I receive. If you want a hard deep tissue massage, I'd recommend Carmen. She's very experienced and knows exactly where your pain or discomfort is, and believe me, she will definitely get your pain out. Depending on your pain, depends on how much pressure Carmen will put on you. Two different times, Jenny (the owner) performed Thai massages on me. She does not offer that massage. She only performed Thai massage because I have been going there for years. Omg, that was so painful. However, when I walked out, my body was like jello. At that time, I didn't live far away. I was able to drive home and fell right to sleep, waking up totally refreshed. Today, Susan worked on me. I always get a 90 minute massage, which costs $98, plus I give 25 to $30 tip. That's just me. My tip is giving extra thanks. Today, though, I caught myself snoring twice. I love Health Day Spa. It's dark, always quiet unless a guest is talking loud. There's soft relaxing music playing. This is different from those Asian scalp treatment places where they use a camera to show you your oily roots and blowdry your hair afterwards - so don't come in expecting that. Pros: - The establishment was very communicative when it came to appointment booking. I had a last minute emergency and had to move our appointment from a morning slot -and they were super kind and easy about this. - Lisa was super nice and professional! Talked me through what she was doing and I was so relaxed I think I even fell asleep for a little bit - The room had really relaxing lighting and music - Very easy parking. The outside can be very unassuming but google maps is accurate - My hair was so soft and nice afterwards and smelled so good - They gave me a free black matte hair clip afterwards, one of the nice ones - Fantastic scalp massage - Overall everything was super thoughtful and super clean Cons: - The only thing I can think of is to have a website that lets you book dual appointments at the same time, but overall not a huge deal. - I do kind of wish they would include hair drying as part of it, but I think that would make the appointment longer so I do understand why it's not included. I decided to make a same-day appointment for a deep tissue massage on a Monday and it was easy to make an appointment online. One thing that I appreciated was that the person at the front desk called me ahead of my appointment and asked what kind of pressure I liked as it was my first time visiting. She said she wanted to ensure that I was matched with a staff member who would best fit my preferences to ensure I had a good experience. I don't think I've had that done before the actual appointment at any other place so that was thoughtful. They even offered to take me in earlier if I was available. Once I walked in, I could tell it would be relaxing as the environment was very quiet and peaceful. We were taken into a relaxing room with comfortable massage chairs that recline, where we started by soaking our feet in warm water. The atmosphere was peaceful, with soothing music playing in the background, making it easy to relax immediately. Even though my sister was right next to me, the setup still felt surprisingly private, and I was able to completely unwind. While our feet soaked, they started with a head, shoulder and arm massage. After the foot massage they had my turn on my stomach and massaged my back. I had several knots around my shoulder blades, and my therapist did an amazing job working them out. He adjusted pressure when asked and was just awesome! I left feeling so much better than when I arrived. The prices are incredible for the quality of service. My one-hour foot massage was only $45, and a one-hour full-body massage is just $60, which I will definitely be trying next time. The entire experience was relaxing, professional, and affordable.
