Last year I bought a 1980 Porsche 911SC. I marveled at how solid the engine was and it influenced my buying it. In the paperwork I noticed 17 years ago the engine had a complete rebuild at Becks. Here are a few amazing facts: 1. Compression is still at factory spec, 2. The engine purrs and has plenty of torque to make me smile, 3. It does NOT leak one drop of oil, 4. Yesterday I sent an email to Becks to find out what type of cam shafts were installed and Kimberly was all over it and got me an answer. This company is incredible and its people match the integrity of their great craftsmanship. I am so happy I found this place. I've been searching for a good shop to take my Porsche and I am glad I found this one. Everyone I spoke to was very friendly and knowledgeable about European cars. With the countless Porsches I saw ranging in age, I could tell they must know their stuff. Very reasonable price for an oil change. I called other shops who quoted me much higher. They were also very honest with me and didn't try to add on unnecessary costs which other service shops love to do. I met the owner as well. I have been bringing my 2012 VW TDI to different VW Dealerships around the Phoenix, Arizona area, for the past few years for an alignment problem without any positive results for an alignment problem. I own a 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo that broke down in Tucson, AZ as I was driving from CA to NY. After the dealership, Tucson Porsche wanted to replace the transmission, my extended warranty company, AutoXcel, found that Beck's had a fix for the PDK that would be significantly less expensive than a full transmission replacement. I was skeptical at first but it's been over 1000K miles, drove to Michigan last week and back to NY and the transmission has worked well. Kimberly was really friendly and very informative. They answered my questions and gave me updates every time I called. Her point of view is the fix is permanent while a new PDK will have the same issue and you don't know when it would happen. I live in Texas, and I chose to have my Porsche Boxster shipped to Beck's European to have the PDK transmission repaired because no dealer/shop in the DFW area would repair the transmission, they would only replace it. I'm so glad I found Beck's for this repair. The quality of service they offer is unmatched. Kimberly even worked with a broker to arrange to have my car shipped for me. The work they did on my car was excellent. By repairing the transmission instead of replacing it, the car is still considered original. The fix Beck's did on my PDK was significantly less expensive than a full transmission replacement would have been and, as Kimberly explained to me, the fix is a permanent solution to the problem while a new PDK replacement could have the same issues as my original PDK. The customer service was great. Beck's kept me informed and up to date on the repair through emails and text. They answered my questions and gave me updates every time I called. Shout out to Frank, Kimberly, Nick, and Cameron for being so helpful, knowledgeable, and informative. They were always willing to explain things to me. I flew out to Scottsdale to pick up my Boxster and got the chance to meet them in person, which was great. I even got a tour of their shop, so I can say, the work they are doing is top notch. After spending a few days in Scottsdale, we drove the Boxster back home to DFW without any problems whatsoever. I highly recommend this shop. Recently took a classic car to Beck's for the first time. I'm giving a low rating mostly based on Customer Service Impression and end cost of repairs. The car we took in is in storage 24/7 in climate control. Prior to making the appointment I had stated we could bring the car in at any time and we wanted to make sure it could be worked on during the appointment time and not parked outside or left waiting on other work. I was told this would be the case and the car would be kept inside and they had time to work on it based on the appt. First impression was not the best upon arriving and looking at what was sitting around the parking lot. A lot of used up Boxsters and everyday driver Porsches that were fairly well worn. While I think there may have been some nice cars inside, I didn't really see those. I would be careful in their parking lot, it is shared with Maaco Transmissions next door so you never know who is just going to fly up next to your car and park. It sort of worried me. I will say I did not have any issues with checking the car in and they took pictures of the car to document it's condition. After a few days, we went to check on progress and were told they had not had time to work on the car and it was sitting in the shop. Not exactly happy with this I had ask when they would have time and I think Eric said within the week and this 'would not be a quick process'. Well, that is exactly what we had been trying to avoid and what I had been told on the phone (who was the receptionist who was no longer working there by the time we picked up the car). I think after a week of sitting we did get a call that they had looked at the car and they felt it was a gas tank issue and they would be looking into that. After that diagnosis, thing kept getting slower and slower with updates or information about what was going on. I knew they were trying to clean the tank and there was an issue with the fuel sending unit. Add on a couple weeks and they are still working on those issues. I am never asked to approve any repairs or giving any cost estimates. One day, getting a little frustrated with the progress we just stopped in to check on the car. They seemed to be 'surprised' by us stopping in and asking when it would be done and told us it could be up to another month of work. Again, we had never been given this information until we stopped in and asked. I guess it is just assumed there is no timeline to get your car repaired? This was not explained to us. We also found the car sitting outside in the parking lot, dirty and had been rained on with the window down. Looks like they had all the windows down on cars sitting outside for some reason. After this stop in visit, I got a call from the owner Frank who I had not met or talked to before. His phone call was less than pleasant saying they did not have time or enough workers to work on the car and they wanted us to pick it up at the end of the week. He also stated that they would not be working on a few other issues that we had reported as problems. On Friday of that week, we were told the car was not drivable because they had not fixed the issue with the gas tank and fuel delivery. Some extra parts were needed. The car was finally picked up the next week. Once we picked up the car we were presented with what I thought was a pretty shockingly high bill for all their 'labor' to fix the car along with some things that we were never told about or approved. While we did want the car repaired (this is why we took it there), never did we say time or money was no object but they seemed to treat it that way and told me it was normal when they did not know what they were getting into. I find this unusual that anyone would be okay with no timeline or budget or at least not giving some estimates once the problems are found. In addition for all the labor I'm not sure the repairs were 100%. I was told the fuel gauge/sending unit was repaired but the gas gauge was sitting at half when i picked it up. We drove the car for a distance to see how it was running and it did fine but when we stopped to add more fuel, the gauge would never go to the top, thus it seemed those repairs were faulty and never checked out. However, on the bill we were charges $195 for 'gas'...?? Another item on the bill was a listing of the other issues we had wanted looked at but Frank had told me they refused to continue to work on it. On the bill it said 'customer declined these services'. I shared the impressions with them upon paying the bill as I did not want to be someone who just posted a bunch of stuff later but wanted other potential customers to be aware of this experience. PLEASE READ THEIR TYPICAL ARROGANT RESPONSE BELOW WHICH IS NOT EVEN ACCCURATE AS OWNER FRANK DOES NOT REALLY KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON THERE. Beware. This shop joy rided my car at high speed (tech admitted to driving at over 110mph) on public roads (they put 38 miles on the odometer). When I confronted them about this I was told it's ok because the tech is a professional race car driver (irrelevant if insurance does not cover them). They were supposedly troubleshooting an intake airflow problem, which they never were able to solve. Overall I found them to be very lacking in openness/communication about the nature of the problem and have lost me as a customer. Update: I took the car to another shop and they quickly determined that the engine air filters were clogged causing negative pressure inside the manifold and that the throttle valve needed calibration. After making these two repairs the issues were resolved. read more

I brought my car in because I could see oil leaking out of my vacuum pump and had a check engine light: -Beck charges $72 to pull the fault code -Beck charged another $145 (over 1 hour of labor) confirm a bad vacuum pump -Beck charged billed another $568 or ~5 hours of labor to replace the vacuum pump -Overall bill came out to ~$1000. -When I got my car back, I discovered the engine panels were in the trunk. Overall review: Labor hour billing was excessive. More expensive than it would have been to go to the Porsche dealer and the attention to detail was lacking. Bad service-4 days to fix a 1 day job. They used the excuse their mechanic was in hospital. Run now to the dealer and save yourself the hassle, they only have the one mechanic or it was an excuse. When you have work done that effects changing oil gaskets and radiator hose and they don't put in new oil or fill up radiator they are not a quality operation. Sweet to you when you bring in a vehicle but if there are issues the owner is rude and is not reliable. Do yourself a favor and spend a few bucks extra and have the dealer do it right the first time. Now I have to go to BBB my CC and everywhere else to get resolution and compensation. read more

I took my wife's car in 2017 BMW 240 to have the Dinan stage 1 installed. It was a a $1800 part, and another $800 in labor. From the moment I drove off the lot, it had issues. Speed was the same, or felt the same, but it kept self diagnosing that it had problems and the check engine light cAme on. I took it back twice to fix that each time. 3rd time we climbed in to go somewhere and the gas light reminded us we have 26 miles before being out, but 3 miles later it stalled and said out of gas and had to have it toed to BECKS and we were charged $160. Finally took to BMW DEALERSHIP and asked them to diagnose and they said it's got a bunch of items red, but they don't want to touch it as they weren't sure what Beck's had done. This was the 4th trip and I asked them to take it out. It was wasted so much time anf caused too many issues, especially because we lived 45 miles away and after the 4 trip, I was done. They said they figured it out now and Dinan had a faulty chip in it, but I was done and I mean done. After driving back on my 5th tike to oil up the stock car, they refunded me $1950. I said that I wanted the labor back too because it wasn't my fault, but according to them it was Dinans known problem and they should get reimbursed my Dinan. We fought back and forth, and they wouldn't budge, so in the end, I lost $1000 in actual cost, but a lot more with the inconvenience and work disruption. I assume since they wouldn't refund the labor, it wasn't a Dinan problem, but a Beck's problem. The first time I had to spend $1000 and get treated like crap. Beck's European provided me with great service on my 99 Porsche Boxster. In July 2017, the car started to overheat. It's a pleasure car, so I didn't get it fixed right away and it sat in the garage for 4 years. Finally decided to fix it and had the Boxster towed to Beck's. They changed the oil, flushed the coolant, removed the old gas and put in some race gas to prepare. While they were working on the coolant system, they determined that the radiator overfill tank had cracked and was causing the original overheating issue. The necessary parts were replaced and they managed to get my car back to running condition again. I am really happy with the service from Beck's European and highly recommend them. I tried a major Porsche dealership who was a month out for appointments and remembered my good friends brought their Porsche to Beck's and loved them. And I can see why. I first, got in within a day, not a month. But that is not where it ended. Kenna who usually is the front end advisor was so sweet, kind and so welcoming. With each step of the way, I got text messages on updates. I had an issue with my glass company who did the previous install and the mirror fell off. The glass company I picked was awful but Beck's handled it with such care and grace. Honestly I am blown away with the service. I flatbed the car to their shop after calling them to tell them what was going on. Kimberly is always bright and cheery and assured me they would take care of the problem. BEWARE--The worst part of this experience was that they charged me to replace parts that were never replaced. One specific example was that they documented on my receipt that they replaced my upper radiator hose. The dealer showed me, documented it, and gave me the old upper radiator hose that clearly was not replaced and was still damaged on my vehicle. The bad reviews are correct. This is just one example of fraud and I will be pursuing recourse. Overview: I took my 2012 BMW there for an oil leak issue. They charged me $2400 to fix two leaks, one of which I had fixed previously. They seemed reputable so I hesitantly approved their work. I get my car back and it starts smoking after I drive it. It turns out that they didn't even clean the oil off when they fixed it and I had to deal with a smoking car every time I parked for the next 200 miles (BMW dealer assured me this should not have happened). Then, after about 220 miles, a check engine light comes on so I take it back in. They now diagnose a temperature sensor issue and ask for $1100 for it. This all seemed fishy so I decided to refuse their service and took it to the dealer for a second opinion. When I took it to the dealer, they told me that there is absolutely nothing wrong with my engine temperature sensor and they are not sure why Becks would come to that conclusion. I asked them to double check and they did with the same result. The final nail in the coffin was that the dealer showed me that the real cause of my main leak (the issue I went in for) was the oil pan gasket There are several reviews with a similar situation where people have to take it back numerous times which leads to me to believe that there are serious quality control issues. After taking it to the dealer, I know that they are committing fraud. Now, the owner calls me and is very cocky and aggressive. He tries to make it seem like I don't know what I'm talking about and tries to accuse me of ruining his reputation. He barely seemed interested in having a conversation. He mostly was just trying to belittle me into either continuing to do business with him or just go away. He tried to make me seem illogical and treated me like a child. He then offered to take $200 off. The whole situation was questionable so I refused because I wanted to have my car evaluated by the dealer. The dealer showed me all parts, documented all their work, and gave me all replaced parts. After the dealer reviewing Beck's receipt and their notes, they confidently said that Beck's European lied and committed fraud by charging me for some parts and service that they did not do. Additionally, all other employees were courteous and kind--EXCEPT Frank Beck. Save yourself some time and just go to the dealer as this place won't save you time or much money and could possibly be scamming you. Update 3/24/2019: Now the door lock pin fell into the door. They fixed my door lock actuator 2 months ago in January of 2019. Also, read the owners response. He is obviously defensive extremely rude. He is either delusional or simply just a liar. I called and spoke to Kimberly about a Pre-Purchase Inspections for a BMW. Was told the price would be $279 and after asking what specifically was performed, was given a VERY generic answer. That we check the car and that we will list what we found. I asked was this a Inspection I or II performed and after checking with someone she gave me the above generic answer. When I asked who could I speak to find out EXACTLY was done and covered she said there wasn't anyone. Different recommendations from different techs (need to replace rotors- no you don't need to replace), problems reoccur after taking in to fix (interior light comes on for no reason draining battery). Owner wonders why I get upset after having to turn around and take car back to shop after leaving it for a few days and problem supposedly fixed. Happened multiple times. Always same response, "it's an older car, these things happen, etc" If you don't mind taking your car in 3 or 4 times for the same issue, come here. If you intend on purchasing a pre-owned Porsche from a dealership, I highly recommend bringing it to Beck's for a pre-purchase inspection within the 15 day/500 mile implied warranty period. I recently purchased a low-mileage, seemingly pristine 2012 Porsche Cayenne from a local dealership and upon delivery immediately took it to Beck's for a PPI. I'm so glad I did, because Beck's discovered several not-so-minor mechanical issues that the dealership obviously failed to bring to my attention. When I took Beck's findings back to the dealership, they tried to minimize the issues by stating that Beck's is overly meticulous with their PPIs. As a dealership, I get their concern. However, as a consumer, I fail to see a problem with that--especially when I've purchased an older vehicle with hidden defects that will be very expensive to repair! Armed with Beck's PPI report, knowledge of AZ's implied warranty statute, and most importantly, Kimberly's expertise and knowledge (she gave me some guidance so I could have a cogent conversation with the dealership--they also ended up speaking with her about the report), I refused to let them walk all over me. We've had our 2003 Boxster S into Beck's twice for some major work, and I have to say I've never had such a positive experience with a repair shop! Their prices are extremely reasonable, and they do excellent work. When we had a problem with 2nd gear on our transmission, the dealership and another shop I called wanted me to replace the whole tranny (about $5-7k!!) but Beck's realized it was a common problem and not a difficult fix for their technicians (the guy who worked on my car had spent 5+ years as a factory tech in Stuttgart!). Their office staff is friendly, the mechanics will come out and explain what they are doing, and the owner Frank is always good about calling if there are any unforeseen problems. Contrast that with the Porsche Dealer in town, I couldn't get the time of day from their "service managers" because I wasn't driving a brand new Porsche. I've also referred a friend for his BMW M3, he said Beck's charged him much less than the dealership for a major repair, and did a great job. My 2004 Cayenne S and I have been a customer of Beck's for over two years and every visit has been a 5 star experience. Frank and his team have taken care of every problem I've had in a timely, professional manner - I trust him implicitly with my car, as well as my husband's 996. Every Porsche owner dreads taking their vehicle in for repair, thinking "How much is this going to cost me NOW?!?", but Frank has actually SAVED me money on repairs! For example, when my right turn signal stopped working, he took some time and found an alternative solution to replacing the whole $1200 headlight at a fraction of the price. It's things like this that make me a repeat, happy customer. The shop itself is impeccably clean, we actually call it The OR - a garage so clean it could house surgery! Lacee at the front desk is super nice and personable, and Josh the service advisor is Porsche experienced, well-informed, and a pleasure to work with.
