It's a "gourmet" fast food burger joint. The burgers are indeed thick patties of ground beef and the toppings are lavish but the burger itself is mediocre. I love burgers and yet, their Bill's Burger with bacon, jalapeno, onions, cheese, etc didn't really please me. Their bread is totally lacking and the grilled onions are burnt dry. For $8, I can name 3 places better off of the top of my head. read more

I've never heard anyone speak badly of this place. My boyfriend and I had to try it out. It's on his side of town, so we decided why not? Let me tell you, we were very disappointed. We both ordered two different kinds of burgers and shared an order of french fries. Our burgers were so greasy they were soggy. The cheese on the burgers were not melted what-so-ever. The lady taking our order looked like she hated life. IT was disgusting to us. We might try it again, but our first experience was pretty traumatizing. I absolutely love their BLT sandwich, without the tomatoes. Thick layer of crispy bacon is soooo um delish! I ordered their parmesan crisps (thinking it was parmesan chips but it was more like parmesan toasts) and fries. They forgot my fries, I didn't know until I got home. I called them and they said they tried to beep at me to come back. Since I don't really eat fast food that much, I opted to go back and pick up my fries. They gave me a small strawberry shake for the mistake and brought the fries out to me. Becks Prime's burgers are so sinfully good - I'm never gonna be a vegetarian because of them. The thick, juicy, meaty goodness of those burgers is the perfect comfort food. The first time I had the Blue Cheeseburger I remember thinking "If I could bask in this blue cheesy goodness, I would..." I pretty much fell in love. Ever since, I can't bring myself to order anything else. Which is a dilemma because I love trying new things. Thankfully, I've figured out a solution: Bring along the bf who loves Becks just as much so I can always sneak a few bites of whatever burger he gets. Win! I've had bites of the TKO burger and either the Hickory burger or the BP burger (don't remember which one) and they were all good. I'm not a huge bbq sauce fan because usually I feel it's a poor excuse to cover up bad quality food and/or it just makes the food too salty for me. This was not the case and I can honestly see myself ordering it. TKO was super messy but hey, it's a burger and it was great. Not too salty considering it had chili, prime sauce and hickory sauce all in one. Now when you get burgers, you gotta get fries. And with fries, you need the shakes to balance the saltiness of the fries. Plus, I like to pretend that shakes provide a healthy balance to the mix. Fries are nice and thick with potato skin still left on them. The last couple times they've been a bit too salty for my taste but then again, that's where the shakes come in. I've had both the strawberry and the chocolate shakes - both are amazing. I think I prefer the chocolate shake because you can just taste the Hershey-ness in them. No artificial, overly sweet chocolate taste that you would get at McDonald's. This is the real deal. Which is a plus, considering it's not cheap at Beck's. But like all the other reviewers have said, it is freakishly clean inside the building so really, it's an upgrade from your normal burger and fries place. It definitely does not have the look, feel, and taste of a fast food chain. read more

I went after reading all of the excellent reviews on my trip to Houston. I felt good when I seen a nice size lunch crowd in there. I went for a cheeseburger, which was priced a bit steep. The burger was nothing special, and the fries even less so. The meat itself was cooked well, but the cheese was plain and the veggies a disappointment. The pickles especially reminded me of eating at mcdonalds. For a state where beef is king this was bad. read more

They make great veggie burgers, but once I heard they used frozen Morningstar spicy, black bean patties, I was a little less thrilled, as I was seeking a truly vegetarian burger (and I thought they made their own veggie patties). These contain egg whites and lactic acid (milk derivative), so they are definitely not vegan and might even go against some seeking a vegetarian meal. However, they taste similar to a medium done meat patty exceptionally seasoned. It looks just like meat and taste like it, too. I also love their regular hamburgers (medium), just amazing flavor and great sides such as sweet potato fries and their Idaho fries. The veggie burgers take less than 5 minutes (another slight turn off), but they don't taste like fast food (huge plus). Their medium burgers are ready in about 10 to 15 minutes. I think the price fits to be honest. You do get a great burger, regardless of what you order, just vegetarians and vegans make note that they use Morningstar (Spicy Black bean), so check their ingredients. Plus on the fast friendly service though. A small minus on this location and their Sugar Land location not having onion rings. I was told only the Memorial location carries them. read more

The parking lot sucks. Let's just get that out of the way. There's like five spots. I sometimes park on the other side of the hair salon in that random half-paved parking lot. The only thing this place has going is 1) They're open past 9pm and 2) They have a drive-thru. I think the late night shift is definitely the B team. No one must monitor the to-go window if they're not busy so you will sit for a while then eventually have to go inside to get helped. Also, my well-done burger came out rare. Unfortunately, I ordered online and Becks can't issue refunds through MAVN. I called the manager and he was quite nice and did offer a free meal coupon to be mailed to me but I would much, much rather my $10 back. Strawberry milkshake is the bomb, one star for that. Stopped in for a late burger on Sunday night and could not be more pleased with Becks Prime on Kirby. My cheddar burger was cooked to perfection and tasted superb. Fresh veggies and a slightly toasted bun compliment this hearty but juicy burger. The fries were a nice combination of crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.
