Hubby and I went to BB&B on a Sunday afternoon to find 2 things: replacement chair pads for our dining chairs at our lake house, and a suction cup mounted soap dish for our shower. When we walked in, we noted that the place felt like a ghost town. The Poppy Festival was taking place in town, and we figured perhaps retailers weren't seeing much business. We also noticed the "ambient" music playing was a little louder than you typically find in a store, and this was "honky tonk" Deep South country.. not at all mainstream Country Western which would still be unusual to find in a store like this. Why am I mentioning the music at all? While there I saw other shoppers wincing and talking about the music, and a couple of them actually left saying things like "oh, I just can't anymore" as they were heading for the door. Who the heck makes a decision to blast music, especially a genre that's so specific and polarizing? It was too loud to just ignore. We stayed because we needed to find specific items, but if we were only there to browse we likely would not have stayed. Back to our reason for shopping. We located the chair pads in the back corner of the store after asking for assistance. There was some selection on hand, and we were able to find a style, color and pattern that we liked. A little more expensive than what we were seeing at Macy's online, but this is BB&B and of course, we had our coupons! Not wanting to go to the mall, we got 4 chair pads (there were only 5 in that color) and placed them in our cart. We found a lone suction cup mounted soap container sitting on a shelf that seemed out of place. We never did find a display with more than 1 or a selection, but we know that inventory is tough for everyone. It wasn't exactly what we wanted, but "it will do", and we placed it in our cart. The cashier was very friendly and efficient! Excellent customer service. When we jokingly remarked about the very loud music, she apologized and said a manager had selected the streaming station when he opened the store and they were stuck with it. I hope Mr. Manager is reading this. Overall I still give them 4 stars for having what we needed, it was clean and tidy and everyone was helpful when we asked for assistance. Their return police is too rigid. I made a purchase for a bathroom being renovated. I decided that I wanted to return the item but since it was past the 30 day window I asked for store credit. They refused. Honestly- they would have lost no money - in fact, the new purchase I was going to make cost more so they would have benefited. LATE shipment by over a week (delivery was April 4 - arrived April 13) delaying entire project (had to buy other materials for client!), dirty truck and when opened, the pallet FELL OUT breaking many of the tiles! BBB did little, but said we lied (sent photos and we can't lie about LATE DELIVERY!) and will not credit us for the order. (We worked with Habitat for Humanity contractor to donate anything usable). DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM HERE!!! Bed bath and beyond is extremely unprofessional and does not care about its customers. They are not the manufacturer or have any real information about the products they are selling! They outsource all of their deliveries and products from a third party partner, overstock. With out to date computer systems and communication they are running a business like a chicken without a head. I purchased the couch on sept. 20. With an estimated delivery date of Oct. 3. On Oct 1. I was told the manufacturer computer system was wrong and the product would take 7-10weeks to ship. On Oct. 8. I was contacted by bed bath and beyond that the product would be shipped out on Oct. 20. Then i was contacted on Oct 21 that the order was canceled due to inventory issue. Despite the fact that bed bath and beyond still has the product up on their website to be sold and has an estimated delivery date of 3 weeks. Which wouldn't make sense if my order was canceled because it was "out of stock" After being left on hold for 3.5 hours. A uninformed supervisor told me the computer system is wrong. There is nothing they can do and when the supervisor contacted the manufacturer on Oct 8. They were given wrong information. No accountability. No solution. And was told, as an unhappy customer, the best they could do was issue a refund WITHOUT being able to re-issue the coupon i used/wasted on this purchase. Worst customer service providing you have the time to wait for 50 minutes! Return policy is very expensive. They give you 60 minutes after your online purchase after that it's yours. I had a very frustrating experience with this company after purchasing a home gym that included an installation service. I specifically chose them because they offered installation, which gave me peace of mind that everything would be professionally assembled. However, the actual service was a complete letdown. Only one person was sent for a 2-hour window--clearly not enough time for a proper installation. The installer only completed 5 out of the 36 steps in the manual before leaving. I tried to reschedule several times over the next few weeks, but the appointments were either canceled at the last minute or, in one instance, they falsely claimed I wasn't home. After multiple failed attempts, I contacted Angi (the company handling the installation) and asked if I'd receive a refund to my original payment method if I canceled. They confirmed that I would, so I ended up installing the gym myself. Unfortunately, Bed Bath & Beyond later told me they only issue refunds as store credit. I've been calling and emailing both companies for months, but neither has resolved the issue. I paid for a service that was never completed, and it seems I won't be getting my money back. I know people are going to hate what I have to say about this store. I think this is why a lot of brick and mortar stores are closing. This place charges way more than you can find online, especially Amazon. I don't shop here for that reason. We decided to stop by and price a corner shower caddy that will fit all of our shampoos, soaps, razors and bath goodies. First thing I see is fragrance sachets they come in a two pack. They are priced $5.99 here and I just bought tons of them at the Dollar store for stocking stuffers for $1.00 Most the things I looked at were definitely priced higher than I know I can get them for. So we head over to shower caddy's, I had already priced them on Amazon. I was shocked that it was $150. The highest one on Amazon is $69. The ones here were nothing better than the ones I had researched. I just don't get the draw of this place. Even with a 20% off coupon it's still a better deal to buy online. read more

I found a Bed Bath & Beyond gift card for $100, when I called the number on the back of the card it redirects me to a Med Alert company, when I looked up the 800 number on the internet I discovered that Overstock.com purchased the business name of "Bed Bath & Beyond" but refuses to honor these gift cards. So when I reached a Rep on the phone, he told me that they wouldn't honor the card, so I stated than this card is worthless and has no value, for 5 minutes he argued with me stating the card does have value just not with us. I kept asking if your company won't honor the card then how does it have value? I asked him 6 times to talk with his supervisor, he finally said he would transfer me, but instead he disconnected the call. I called again and again requested to speak to a supervisor, I asked 5 times to be transferred me to a supervisor, she finally did, and now I've been on hold for 30 minutes. My advice is don't do any business with Overstocked.com or Bed Bath & Beyond. read more

On 12/29/21, I returned a comforter in store (i had purchased it online through Klarna). I noticed the last four card numbers didn't match my credit card which was how I paid. I was told my refund would be processed back through Klarna and that's why the numbers didn't match. The cashier made a Klarna card on my Apple Pay and told me Klarna would figure out how to send it back to my original form of payment (credit card). She also advised me to keep my receipt because sometimes issues arise. The next day I called and spoke to a manager because I noticed there was no digital foot print of a return other than my receipt. The manager told me because it was close to a holiday it could take a bit. I waited two weeks for a refund and there was no updates from bed bath and beyond or Klarna. Both companies gave me the run around and blamed each other. It is now the beginning of April and I still have not received a refund. Customer service hotline is useless. I have called twice and on both occasions been told I would be given an update within 72 hours and I never receive any updates. I get asked to send the same proof of return each time and I always get hung up. I do not scream or argue or make a big deal and because of that nobody has made any attempts to help me. This comforter is over 100 dollars and that's why I don't want to just let it go. I am going to try to call corporate again on Monday but in all honesty I have no faith in this company even trying to help me. Purchased a Vornado heater from Bed,Bath,and Beyond their price was "better" than Amazon's. I spoke to Chris who was stocking, and he stopped what he was doing and took me over to Tiffany, who had to retrieve the portable stairs and grab the heater that was stored near the ceiling shelf (upstock ?). Tiffany made the comment "these are not on the floor because we do not get a lot of requests for a heater when the temperature is 107 degrees out (I laughed my butt off). Great people, great service. The management understands "customer service" and so do the employee's. If all business were ran like this BBY, the world would be a better place. It's always a good trip whenever we visit the store just because. The associates are usually friendly and helpful! They always have that one small clearance stand near the paintings/mirrors/frames area. For clearance pillowcases, maybe the prices can be improved? For example, most (if not all) were marked as clearance mainly because of missing "parts" and/or came from display. So today when we checked those out, some were priced around $10 for two, discounted only down to $8 for one pillowcase, and had an old packaging. The items are usually piled one after the other and don't really have boxes or packaging. Anyway, considering that we have been visiting now for nearly five years, it seems that the store items along with the prices have not been updated or changed much. Overall, they have a variety of bedroom (my fave is the bath tub pillows), bathroom, living room, kitchen, and pet supplies/decors. 4/5/22. I usually have no problem there, but this was so weird and disappointing that I had to post. So, I go in to look at a particular appliance I need. I see one that I want and am ready to pay close to $300.00 for it, but the box was not taped up. Though it looked like everything was there I wanted to have staff check it just to make sure (and in case I had to return it). I asked the clerk if she could have someone assist me. She volunteers to do so herself. Okay. So, I walk back to the location of the item to wait. Waiting, waiting, nothing. So, I return to the front to look for her and she's emptying a bin. I figured she had to do that first, so I walked slowly back so she could see me (I didn't want to bug). Waiting, waiting, she still does not show up. I look the item up on Walmart's website (cheaper) so we decide to leave. This same clerk was then standing at the counter DOING NOTHING and then, vacantly, says "Thank you have a good night." This review is not for the company as a whole but this location. I love shopping online and I love the products they sell, This is a customer service issue. By the way I have read some of the raving reviews on here about the customer service and this particular store has some of the worst customer service so I really doubt the honesty of those reviews. First of all, upon walking in rarely am I greeted. Yesterday was so bad that I finally decided to do something to make this company aware. I walked in and no one was monitoring the amount of people coming in as is what you see most places now that COVID-19 is a reality. There were two people working customer service and cash registers. A tall man walking around not really doing anything, again no greeting or offer of help. I went to look for bath rugs and in that section two male employees were engaged in a very loud personal conversation and did not even acknowledge me. I usually find what I need myself but it's nice to have someone just greet you and let you know they are there if you need something. But in this case the various bath rugs of same style, different sizes did not have a price for the other sizes so I could not figure out the price of what I was looking for. Still those two employees kept talking to each other no offer of help. I was getting irritated. Then from another section a woman kept saying excuse me do you work here and they ignored her until she got louder lol then finally stopped talking and helped her. Finally I went to check out and pay then the cashier says oh you're paying cash I can't ring you up so back in line I went to wait for the only register taking cash. I understand why but if employees would communicate with customers ahead of time it would avoid confusion. And when I was checking out another woman came in and said she had been waiting at curbside pickup and nobody ever came out! So this store really has a lot to work on as far as customer service! FYI I shop at kirklands, home goods, target and they have LESS employees yet excellent customer service and organization even during this COVID-19 we are facing so frankly no excuses for bad customer service. read more

It's crazy how such a popular store is staffed with such unqualified people at this location. I walked in and there were more than enough people crowded around 2 registers. I didn't know who was an employee and who wasn't. When I was ready to pay, I stood behind a gentleman who'd been standing there waiting for service for MINUTES, when there were like 5 dumb female employees at those registers when there were only 2 customers at each one. The customers had big boxes that were being handled by cashiers already. That's why the others who were doing NOTHING couldn't attend to other customers? They had seen him, and I, standing there, but pretended they didn't. Ultimately one of them said "DID YOU HAVE A QUESTION?" And he did, he then left, and I was left standing there, again, waiting for service to pay for my 1 small item. PLEASE, organize your customer paying line if you cannot see it!!! Or maybe pay more attention, because it's your responsibility to know where your customers are and where everything is and how to do your job, with customer service being at the top requirement. By the way, the door alarm rang every time a customer exited. None of the employees said a word, even though it caused customers to walk back in and hesitate. An employee named Angela also announced it was her second day working. No wonder I was about to get in line in back of her. ALL of the employees seemed more confused than the customers themselves. I have to say that each and every time I am in this store, no matter who is working, the customer service is outstanding. Last week my college age daughter purchased all of her dorm room items at our local store. Her school is in Pittsburgh. After going to the mail n more store and finding out the cheapest amount to ship the 5 boxes would be $500, we returned to the Bed, Bath and Beyond to see if they could return our local items and purchase them online from the store in Pittsburgh (btw, most popular college dorm items are not available at this late date). Instead of that Pam happily took our boxes,that were all taped up and the college address and sent them FedEx to Pittsburgh at their cost. Then, within 20 minutes, she called me with the tracking numbers so that I could monitor the shipment!! I was amazed and delighted at how easy she made all of this for us. To say that this was a game changer is an understatement. This store exemplifies what Customer Service means and I will continue to shop there and recommend anyone to do the same. read more

I love this place, but I tried making an order on the phone yesterday and the sales associate, Rose, was very nice and friendly, but it took about 15 minutes to get my name email and address because of a communication problem with the language, so please have patience if you call in an order and speak to her, or better yet, order online or in the store. This is a follow up to my previous review. I received my refund within three days. I am not sure if the person in the store who told me that it would take four weeks was lying or if my calls to corporate office made a difference. What I do know is that I will never ever ever request a refund back to a debit card. I will always take cash for a refund if I use a debit card. read more

Love this place! They're a little expensive so I always wait for one of those 20% off coupons but even if they're expired this co. will honor them! They are customer centric, which I love and respect. If you forget your coupon at home it's no problem, just bring it in next time your there (with the receipt) and they'll honor it as well!
