I just found out the other day that JC Penny is not only selling clothes but does have JC Penny salon, Portrait studio and Optical. Isn't that amazing!!?? One stop shop. I will definitely try their salon in the future. I walked in to check out their clearance racks. Their Christmas items are at 70% - 90% but I have some of them already and the others I don't need it. Horrible customer service at the jewelry department. Specifically Maribel. My mom made a purchase and on top of Maribel trying to sell her other things we were not interested in, and almost forcing her to apply for a credit card, she overcharged my mom and was super upset when we went back to let her know she had overcharged us. Terrible return policy. Bought a JC Penny's Cooks brand coffee maker late November 2023 for a Christmas present Used the coffee maker just about a month and it stopped working. Took it back to tje store and wouldn't take it back since it was over 60 days of purchase. Told me to call warranty number on instructions book but number doesn't work. Can't get help from anyone. Their photo studio is horrendous. We scheduled a date to take school photos and the morning we arrived for our scheduled appointment we are told that we cannot be seen because they have a conference call every Thursday. I asked why we were allowed to make an appointment at the same time of the conference call and the lady did not know. She was also not helpful in trying to solve the situation. We drove over an hour for this appointment to just have it canceled. All they had to do is call us to reschedule it, which they had ample time to do. Horrible customer service. Came in to return some pants from JcPenny's because they did not fit properly. I had the tags removed but still in the bag with the physical copy of the receipt. They almost denied my refund by giving me a bad time stating that the tags NEEDED to be on the clothing to return and that it was a new policy. ***Online Order*** I am VERY disappointed. The package came late. I order two pairs of shoes and a backpack and they put it in a bag... the boxes look at tore up and rugged. I have no words. The package was thrown over my gate and left on the floor. We have no dogs in our front yard, so the amount of disrespect is unbelievable. I will be emailing corporate to complain. Poor Service in mens suit area. Not helpful at all. She's having conversations about hair with friends and bowling after work. And let's just say furniture for guests haven't been updated in years. Also parked at salon entrance due to back hurting after rear ended recently and went in for something specific walked out 25 minutes before store to close to be told by 4 employees they close doors early and I must walk all the way around mall to my car. Ok. So the service people (jc penny's) warranty finally shows up. An hour later than their scheduled window (8-12pm). Only to take a picture of our washer and say they need to order the part. Which we already had discussed in our call when we made the appoint. So to come out ant eat up a 5hr block in our day. Only to take a darn picture of the machine they already knew we had is completely unacceptable to me. This company seem to obviously have sold us a lemon. There is no reason in God's green earth that a brand new machine that was delivered in October. Needs to have its Motherboard replaced less than 2mo later. I am completely furious. We decided to come to the JC Penny salon for my son's back to school haircut. Huge mistake! When we walked up, the salon was empty except one customer. We asked the lady if she could cut my sons hair as a walk-in. She looked at her watch (7:15) and grimaced because they close in 40 minutes. She was like "the only other stylist here is busy and I won't have time to finish it before we close." When I pressed for why she could finish a simple boys hair cut she said "I'm not really that good a men's haircuts." Seriously? Why do you work here? All men? That's like half the population. We were so shocked and just stood there like "are you sure?!" Yep, she was sure... Before I left I asked to speak with a manager who (of course) wasn't there. We started walking through the store to get to MasterCuts where my son is currently getting his haircut. Right at the front, she chased us down and was like "there's another stylist willing to cut your son's hair" oh really?! Then why didn't you ask them when we stood there for five minutes?? Yeah, no thanks. Knowing JC Penny hires people that "aren't really that good at men's haircuts" will pretty much ensure that I never go there again. read more

I like to first start off by saying, I have always shopped at this JC Penny & never had a problem until now. On Dec 22,2013, I came to this store to do last minute christmas shopping. I was looking for a black coat for my mom. So I found one, but it was too big. So I asked a sells rep if they had an XL in black? They lady checked inventory & told me they didn't have one in stock. She offered to order one for me online. At first, I wasn't sure about ordering it online. The lady convinced me & said it would arrive around Dec 30, 2013. So, I ended up having her order the coat. On Dec 31,2013, I called the store to find out the status of the coat. The person I spoked with said they had no idea when it would arrive. That got me really upset because I trusted the rep that sold me the coat. I had to buy my mom another gift for christmas since her coat wasn't going to arrive on time. So finally Jan 14,2014, the coat arrived to the store. I wasn't able to pick it up until Jan 17, 2014 cause of my work schedule. I was excited to finally get my mom's coat. I opened the coat at home to make sure it looked okay. I can't believe how stupid I was to trust the rep. She ordered the wrong color. I wanted a BLACK coat & she ordered Black Plaid. This coat is hideous because it black with green & it doesn't even look like the coat I wanted. So now I have to return it back to the damn store!!!! We will have to see how this turns out!!!! I will never order though JC Penny. Now I realize the lady that first ordered the coat for me didn't really care about helping me out. Instead, she only cared abut making the sale. read more

I recently went to JCP with my family to take spring pictures. I am very unhappy with them. We had nothing to choose from, there are four of us and when one smiles the other is blinking and when the picture was taken there was only one maybe two of each Pose. The photographer was new and didn't have any ideas to pose us. We still spent a fortune on pictures I don't want to even hang in my house. I wish they had shown me the pictures as we were taking them instead of at the end. He had a line forming and we were feeling rushed to choose. My daughter had her pictures taken at their photo department. When we first got there the two employees seemed a little cold. When we went back to take her pictures the young lady who happened to have my daughter's same name started warming up to us. She was very nice and did a great job. Had my daughter laughing the whole time. She took a lot of pictures and had her in great posses. I will for sure take her there again for her 1st birthday. Very bad service! I waited in lin for over 15 minutes. The clerk called for help and an annoyed squawk comes over the radio basically saying they will get there when they get there. Very unprofessional! And to top in all off the SHUT DOWN THE CASH WRAP IN THE SHOE DEPT!! I will not go back except under force! Like can't find what i need anywhere else at all! Ordered an appliance on-line from JCP. They subcontract the delivery service and the product was delivered damaged. In spite of the JCP website specifically touting "Easy Return Policy", JCP does NOT accept in-store returns for appliances. Multiple phone calls later to customer service, dealing with an unprofessional and uncaring delivery service, many hours of frustration and coordination of yet another pickup and delivery time, and over a month delay.....need I say more! Absolutely the worst service and certainly not worth the few dollars saved on sale. I should have purchased the item at one of the local hardware-appliance supply chains. NEVER AGAIN JCP. Last week I went in this location to do a return. Once I found what I wanted to purchase with my store credit, I go to the registers & I was helped by Sabrina, she was extremely rude. She gave me attitude (assuming because I had a return) & kept rolling her eyes at me. At the moment I was very upset with that customer service she gave me that I wanted to call for the supervisor and do my complaint in person but my boyfriend convinced me to just get my new merchandise and walk out. I've worked in retail management for 3 years now & never have I ever experienced such bad customer service before. I used to go there all the time for pictures. I went earlier this month for my son's 6th grade pictures. I made an appointment online and when I got there the manager was mad because she already had someone down for that time. Not my fault they over book or don't update the times available online. It took me over an hour to get his pictures done because I had to wait (she called me and asked me to come in later mind you I live 30 miles away and I had already left to go there.) and another hour just to see them. I was told a date they SHOULD be in and I would get a call when they are in. Well here it is 11 days later and no call. I just attempted to call them yet again to see if they are in and no one answered the phone. They need to get it together. Great place to shop. Lots of sales all the time and staff is helpful especially in the shoe department. I'll be coming back for sure. Plus they have an extra 25 percent off today not including if you sign up for a credit card with them and get approved you get an extra 15 percent too. But the 15 percent lasts 24 hours. So yeah getting like 40 percent off sale prices or anything. Loving this store. read more
