I entered Bedmart not expecting to find what I needed but was immediately greeted by the man working there. He helped me find exactly what would work for me, testing different sizes, prices, and levels of firmness. He was very understanding with my situation and within 10 minutes I had found the mattress that I wanted. He wasn't pushy in recommending more expensive options, and within two days the bed arrived at my apartment. Since moving to Oregon I have found going into mattress stores a chore!. Most places have rude employees who don't want to be bothered. I was quite happy when my daughter and I went into Bedmart and the man behind the desk was up beat and understood what we were after. My daughter needed a bed immediately and I needed one for my guestroom. We found the mattresses we liked. Since I was a couple of weeks from needing the bed we put some money down on her's and left. A week or so passed and my daughter let me know she really like her bed but had problems with the delivery. Seems as soon as they got her money the customer service went right out the window. Fast forward a week. I called in to put the money down on the mattress set I liked, I spoke to a young man who was not my original sales man, I gave him the info from the card I had been given, he said he needed time to write up my paperwork, I was at work and told him I would call back at lunch. When I called back the amount due was more than I had been originally quoted. I asked about a frame which they wanted a ridiculous amount of money for. ( I didn't purchase the frame from them!!) When I finally got him to price it out correctly he charged my card for the full amount, which he wasn't supposed to do, when we got around to delivery he said it was done by a third party company and he knew nothing. A couple of days later I was informed that Bedmart gives a AAA discount. The discount is better than the one I was given. When I called in to discuss this with the salesman and a gave him a reasonable compromise he was uninterested and wanted to over charge me for a mattress protector. Again did not purchase from Bedmart!! In all fairness I do let people know I have owned my own mattress store and I am aware of the markups on the products they are selling. I also get businesses need to make money. What most of the businesses lack these days are people who understand real customer service, I would be more compelled to pay there overinflated prices if there was a decent amount of customer service. When I did finally get my mattress set ( it was a mismatched set because I needed a low profile foundation!) The foundation had a hole in it! I took a picture but didn't even want to be bothered calling and having it replaced. After all they have my money, and I have company coming!! read more

The salesman was nice enough, but the selection was lacking. Lots of off brands with an outrageous prices. There is a bed hooked up to a computer. We explained what we wanted, but apparently the computer knew better. It seems like this was an excuse to show the over priced off brands, since they were the only ones with special designators linked to this computer. Not impressed. read more

Lady was totally rude to me and my son. We came into the store to buy him a mattress, she happily said look around. I went to the fancy bed that tells you what type of mattress we needed and began to input our information. She came from around the counter and reached over me and cleared the screen while giving me a very scolding look. I told my son we were leaving and she was like I started it over because it wasn't working. I was like that would have been great if you would have explained that instead of being rude. She then began to make rude and snide comments behind my back as I was leaving. I turned around and told her she was being rude and that she is in customer service and was acting unprofessional. She continued to argue with me as I was walking out telling me I was rude and disrespectful to her! Really lady? I wasn't the one talking about me and now you lost a sale. read more

Jeff O'Dell at BedMart (in Salem, OR on Commercial St.) went beyond what I expected anyone would do to help me with a complex order. He didn't give up! He was gracious, helpful, and ultimately successful in getting me exactly what I wanted in the timeframe I needed it. I had called several other stores before I talked to him, and they just said they didn't have the item I wanted; end of story. He called the corporate office and found that he could order what I wanted, which he didn't have in the store, and ship it to where I wanted it to go. The sales employees were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I never felt rushed, or pressured, to buy. They gave me great tips to save money, and to extend the life of my new mattress. No pressure saleslady...which was nice! went looking for a full size bed...and needed it within a day. She said the earliest delivery would be two days away. Signs all over the exterior windows said HUGE SALES...so expected as much inside. The "sales" I imagine were just regular prices, made to look like they were on sale, as we found no HUGE SALES. We went into look at buying a bed for my daughter who was moving up to Portland, we found a great mattress and confirmed delivery for the following Monday.the sales lady who was very helpful said they would call us between 0900 and 1000 to let us know the time frame that they would deliver on Monday morning. Since she was in the process of moving she was not at her new apartment on Monday morning. We received a phone call at 0930 with a message that they would be delivering the bed between 0900and 1200, I called back right away and was informed that they were already on their way and would be at her address in 5 minutes, I asked if they could delay a bit since we were not there, I was told it was not possible at all and no exceptions would be considered. The driver said I would have to rebook another day for delivery. I called the main office and was again informed that they were unable to change the time. This was the only day we would be able to take delivery due to my daughters work schedule and she would be out of the state for at least a week. If they had given us at least an hours notice or called the night before we could have been at the apartment to receive the delivery. Instead we canceled and went with another vendor and was able to get a better price and same day delivery. BedMart lost a customer and I will let everyone know not to shop there. read more

We bought a matress back in January after trying out most of the floor models they have. When the bed was delivered the delivery men ripped holes in the protective plastic and drug the mattress through the mud. I called and they replaced it free of charge 3 days later "when the delivery men where in the area". After sleeping on it for a few weeks my wife's back stated hurting and hasn't stopped. In my opinion this is not the mattress we had tried in the store. It is much more firm. So we did a comfort exchange. Now on Sunday we went to the store and found the mattress we wanted and set up the delivery for today. We were told that we would receive a call letting us know when they would be here. No one called so I called the store to figure out what was going on. They told me that the delivery was never scheduled. I asked them how they were doing to correct this error and was told that it could be delivered Friday or Sunday. I preceded to tell the gentleman that I want happy with that and he said that was all they could do. Seeing as how I have paid them close to $3000 for a matress I kind of expected it to be here when they say it will be. After multiple phone calls to them and to "customer service" nothing is resolved. Customer service won't even return my calls. Needless to say avoid Bedmart at all costs. I wish I had. read more

We bought a mattress from BedMart in Salem, the first 21days we had to return the box springs due to stitching coming out. They did replace it with no problem, then we told them the mattress was to hard, it's didn't feel like the one in the store that we liked. So again they replaced that with a discontinued mattress. We have had this mattress for 3 months and its falling apart, the pillow top stitching is coming out so the bating will start moving. We called them and they just cut the string and don't worry about, it will be fine. We paid good money for a mattress and we wanted it to last longer than 3 months. So we are never going back to BedMart and if anyone does be careful. read more

We bought a mattress in April of 2011. The saleslady was GREAT! Very patient and answered any questions we had. Fast free delivery the next day..and the guys were very professional and courteous. Now...fast forward 6 months. We woke up with pain in our backs because the mattress was dipping in the middle. We want a new bed! We were within our year warranty. I went into Bedmart and was told that a Inspector will call and set up a time to inspect the bed. First impression with the Inspector was that he was annoyed that he had to come to Salem to do the inspection. Oh and by the way...IF it is found to be defective, I am responsible for paying $100 for them to pick up the bed and send to the manufacter! This was NEVER told to me when we bought the bed. I argued with him about it, and was told pretty much it was my choice if I wanted a new bed or not. We just dropped $600 on a mattress...why would I pay an extra $100 for something that isnt my fault? I canceled the inspection needless to say. I than called BedMart back at the store with my concerns...but they couldnt help me. Rules are Rules. Why can't they get RTM credit from the manufacturer? Yes, I am in retail. They lost a customer, along with my family and friends I could have referred them to. We put the bed in the guest room and spent our money at Sleep Country for a new bed. read more
