If you want your bees removed and pay twice the quote. This is your company to go with. We got billed twice for $750 each for work done in March. Charges were done 4 minutes apart. Called and ask to refund only one of the charges. Got the "it's the credit card company's fault" excuse. No refund forthcoming. We eventually disputed the charge with the credit card company. They lied and said the quote was for $1500 to the credit card company. Verrrrry shady. And just because you don't remember the transaction doesn't mean that the review is a bot. I submitted a request through Swarmed and was contacted by Nicole, who quoted me $250 for bee removal. I responded politely thanking her for the info and that I would look into other options. The Swarmed website makes it seem like some bee removals may be free. I completely understand that this is a business and that services come at a cost, and I respect that pricing/quote. However, the response I received felt unnecessarily sarcastic: "If you find people to do it for free, please send them my way. I will hire them in a minute. Good luck." That tone was disappointing and didn't feel very professional. For context, the bees are located in a water meter on my street. I ended up contacting my water company and they will send out their contracted bee removal team, who will handled it at no cost. Nicole, Sean, and Thomas were all phenomenal! Highly recommend Bee Catchers Inc!! We had an ongoing issue with the neighbor behind our house. (She's the cuckoo lady who previously posted a bad review which was totally unfounded.) There was a large beehive on the back of her garage that faced our backyard. We asked her over a year ago to have it humanely removed, as all the bees were in our yard - some even flew into our house from time to time! I even provided a list of professional services but she never followed through. The weather finally cooled and the bees went dormant ... until May of this year. Then, they came back with a vengeance. (Sadly, we later found out that our neighbor had them sprayed which is why they went dormant for a few months. But they still came back because of the huge hive that was in the roof of her garage.) When things got to be too much, we offered to split the payment with her for the bee removal service that is on HER property. That's when she finally agreed. I immediately reached out to Bee Catchers. Nicole responded to my email right away and got things rolling. They're located in the Valley, and we live in Lakewood, but she said they were going to be in our area in the next few days. So, we quickly got things arranged. Her husband, Sean, and their awesome teammate Thomas arrived right on time and got to work right away. They were so kind, professional, gentle with the bees, considerate of my neighbor's property, and worked quickly. My roommate came home during the middle of the process and said all the same things about them, after stepping out into our yard to greet them. Nicole said Sean and Thomas removed 70 lbs of honeycomb and that there were about 40,000-50,000 bees in the hive. Sean said to give it 3 or 4 days to allow for the stragglers to leave, and they did. I asked Sean what they do with the bees. He said they take the hive back to their house then reach out to their community of fellow beekeepers see if anyone wants them, then gives them away. I love that! The best part, though, was how Nicole handled our looney neighbor. We knew just what she was talking about because we've experienced the same thing with her. I felt bad to have introduced Nicole to the situation, but was so grateful for her help. They were all fantastic! And to top things off, they repaired my neighbor's garage roof rather than *just* remove the hive. That was included in the cost of the service. AND they offer a 5 year warranty!! I am very impressed with the team at Bee Catchers for the reasons 1. They delivered the service we agreed upon which was to remove the bees from a tree in my backyard 2. Knowledgeable and experience about bees and various scenarios. Sean answered my questions and gave recommendations based on different scenarios (i.e. how to fix long term issues that arises with aging trees that can attract rodents and bees.) 3. Friendly, courteous and on-schedule. Horrible communication. I reached out to Nicole via their contact on their website. She emailed me and i gave her an overview of my situation. She said she will take care of the bees and the repairs which i was very excited for. she gave me her phone number and from there it went to shit. I asked her when she would come by (texted her on Friday and sent her photos of the hive) because my mom wanted to be here for the consultation. She said no one needed to be there since it was an outside job which was great, so i said she can come whenever. when someone says you can come whenever they mean within that day NOT within that week. She never came but said she was and that she needed the address, i provided it even though it was in the initial contact email... she still never came. I gave her 2 days to contact me but she didn't so i sent the long paragraph that's attached. She replied saying she did email me (i've checked every inbox and never received anything & i have cameras all over my house and she was never on those cameras so she was lying.) but never did and claimed that it was an outlook issue.. even tho neither of us have outlook. She never replied after i sent that last text & im glad she didn't cuz she was a waste of time. So basically long story short, if you want a company that will actually do their job and not waste your time, do not go to this company. Nicole, the owner of this company, is rude, abrasive, and extremely unprofessional. Her worker mistakenly told me I could pay through Venmo or Zelle. I chose Venmo. I even sent him a screenshot of the payment to confirm it was correct and he confirmed it was before I sent it. After is sent the $1000 payment, Nicole called to blame me for the payment being sent to Venmo instead of Zelle because the don't have have a company Venmo account. She raised her voice to me so loudly that person sitting next to me at the dr's office I was in asked me if I was okay because they could hear how she was speaking to me through the phone, despite it being pressed to my ear. Within 30 minutes, I was able to correct the payment and sent it to her through Zelle. I included a screenshot of the new payment along with a message to suggest she not speak to her customers that way especially when they are helping her get paid correctly. She then continued to text me and tell me I was the one who was being rude and that I was on film (unsure how, we were in different locations) and to repeatedly call me a liar. She actually screenshotted my own messages back to me and tried to tell me they said things they literally did not say. Truly wild and unhinged experience. 0/10. Highly do not recommend. In the other hand, Sean, the guy who removed my bees was WONDERFUL. Excellent customer service and professionalism. He is the only reason I am glad I can give 1 star instead of zero. A massive hive had built up behind my tiled bathroom wall and they took care of the whole situation for an incredible price (less than half the price of similar competitors, and much more humane). They didn't even have to break any tile, and they included the cost of patching the wall in the fee. This company is the worst! First let me confirm this review: 1) I am a real paying customer (not a "bot.") 2) I have only left negative reviews a couple of times in my life. 3) After reading the other negative reviews for this company, I believe each and every one of them. At first everything seemed fine. I spoke with Nicole on the morning of 3/18/25 and she promised to call me back in an hour or so and confirm that someone would come out to my home that day or the next day (she never called back). However she did text me late that afternoon and said someone would be there by 10 - 10:30 the next day. Sean did show up the next day (at around 11:30) and he started the job (PS - Sean was very nice). I had a bee hive in the base of my olive tree. He explained that when he was finished, he would seal the opening. He explained that the bees might return if there is another opening that he couldn't initially see. He said to simply call them if I noticed this and he would come back out and seal the additional opening. So after a couple of days, I did see that the bees were entering through another opening. So I called: 3/24/25 left message, no call back - 3/29/25 left message, no call back - 4/1/25 Nicole answered the phone. She said she was waiting for a time her tech would be in my area. She promised to call me back by the end of the day to confirm...no call back - 4/4/25 left message, no call back - 4/7/25 left message, no call back. I had also sent her follow up text messages on 3/25/25 and 4/4/25, no response. Today I saw that Bee Catchers had charged my credit card AGAIN! The job had been paid in full and charged to my credit card on 3/28/25. Now on 4/11/25, I was charged a second time for this same job (which was never completed). I have filed a dispute with my credit card for the 2nd charge. Again the total amount had already been paid in full. As others have mentioned, the two times I actually spoke with Nicole, she seemed stressed and bothered by the call (borderline rude). She made promises that were literally never kept. Bee Catchers offers a "guarantee" of their work, but it is useless if they refuse to communicate and respond. I suspect she ultimately blocked my number hoping I would just go away. Additionally, I feel certain she charged me twice intentionally. Save yourself the headaches and stress, call a different company! Do not waste your time and money with Bee Catchers! Disappointing, "punitive". Bee Catchers removed the bees from the third floor, I paid and thought it was finished. Unfortunately I later discovered they had opened but left uncovered a hole inside an unused bedroom and bees and beeswax oozed into the room. I called and they set a time to come out. I was late and admit it. I called, apologized and tried to reschedule but the lady (owner?) was rude, obviously (and abnormally) angry, and said she'd get around to it when they were in the area. Over the few months I left several phone messages and sent a couple of emails to reschedule, all of which were ignored. The silence was deafening! It was clear I was being "punished" for some slight they took very personally. How many times have servicers (repairmen, installers, delivery, plumbers, etc.,etc. ) missed a "window", and we just work with it. We don't take it as a personal slight, and we don't get punitive. Very un-businesslike. Although different on the facts, some of the other reviews seem to share similar unprofessional experiences with Bee Catchers. Next time I'll employ someone else. I work for a commercial property in the city of Irvine. We have dealt with bee problems for quite a while. Our building are somewhat old and the siding wood panels could warp in different locations causing the bees to create hives on our buildings. In a course of 4 years I could say we have used Bee Catchers at least 4 times and they have removed from our buildings at least a total of 10 bee hives. Our main concern is that our tenants are safe, our property is well kept(restored) and that the price is fair. Bee catchers always exceed our standards. Oh, and I had a service come out today (I told them the same thing: I have a bee problem more than a story high and a year ago someone put a screen on a vent. I tried to call another service but didn't hear back. Today I found my receipt. When I called, I explained that someone from their team had previous come out to look at a scouting situation and screened off a vent but it appeared it didn't work because there were a ton of bees here now. The person who answered the phone immediately became very aggressive and kept asking me questions. She asked why I thought they were not just scouting again and I said that they had been here for a while but I couldn't remember who I used in the past, rarely go in my backyard and just found the receipt to identify who had come previously. I do not understand why ANY additional information needed to be collected in an aggressive manner. I just wanted to schedule someone to come and check out the situation. She threatened to hang up on me because I told her she was being aggressive and she said that I was playing victim and that I had told her the screen had failed and that it probably didn't. I told her I wasn't calling because I was angry, I was just explaining what I thought were the facts and that I'm not a bee expert. She kept rattling on about how I'm being defensive, rather than just politely scheduling to come check things out... so I hung up because WHAT WAS THAT ALL ABOUT? Bad day? I just wanted you to come tend to the bees! The bees came to the exact place they had scouted last year. Those are the facts. I wasn't trying to fight. Super impressed with this group. Nicole at the service desk was incredibly knowledge on the situation (diagnosed it over the phone), and very friendly. She even suggested a way for me to handle myself, but I opted against it (i mean, they're hornets). We also have small children and a dog, so we were very appreciative of how eco-friendly they are as a company and the products they use. She was able to fit us in same-day, and the two guys showed up right away. Incredibly nice guys who knew what they were doing, handled the hornets nest, and then evaluated the rest of the house for any other issues. They found an old honeycomb that was no longer active. They showed up late due to a major job before mine. I did not get a call from them letting me know. But once Thomas and Larry showed up they identified the hive with thermal imaging. Lacks competence and customer service skills. Not committed to the preservation of bees and does not care about the safety of all the residents, including children who live in my townhome community. She actually threatened, in writing, to release "tens of thousands of bees" on our property, a place where she knows the HOA will have them killed! I asked for a refund due to her failure to honor her website's "satisfaction guaranteed" statement (false advertising) because the bees were not removed and ended up being killed by the HOA's pest control company. Her psychotic response included the threat! I had an urgent situation and only had one day to try and save a bee colony that was going to be killed by the HOA, so I didn't bother to check the reviews online. I immediately accepted the one who could come the same day. This one was also the cheapest. The hive was inside a rotted tree stump. Turns out the hive went underground, under the stump. I contacted 7 other businesses. All others who responded were offering to come out for a much higher price because they were competent enough to know that the stump had to be cut open in order to get to all the bees. Most of them couldn't come the same day. So I went with this one because they claimed they would get the bees out and seal the holes in the stump. My invoice claims "removed ALL bees and closed/sealed ALL entry points." This is false. Her employee stated the only time they actually take the bees with them to relocate them is when they are also taking the hive. They tried to get as many bees out as they can by hand, and then sealed one side of rotted stump (which still had several holes all around it). I'm guessing the employee didn't notice all the other holes. They didn't seal all entry points and I watched the bees that they did get out just go right back in. They never even got the queen bee out! You'll probably see her rambling on about residual bees in her response or that they saved the bees. When beehives are removed, not all of the bees are present, as some may be flying around in the air outside the hive, foraging, etc. These leftover bees are called residual/straggler bees. She's trying to lie and say the residual bees are the ones that were killed, but they are actually the ones who SURVIVED. The residual bees were the lucky ones who were NOT killed because they weren't there at the time. After pest control killed the bees and the stump was removed, you could then see the residual bees when they returned later that day and the next day, hanging out at the hole where their hive used to be. I'm sure this business will be able to better fulfill your needs if your situation involves a building, and not a tree. I wasted $220 and when I asked for a refund was threatened with "tens of thousands of bees." Just the fact that a merchant would respond with such a threat warrants a 1-star review, and for all to steer clear of doing business with this person. Her reviews are not yelp's fault. Only a delusional conspiracy theorist would believe that. Check out the owner's responses to the negative reviews. That should tell you enough. She has negative reviews on google too. There are 2 businesses online (including on Yelp). They are the same business (same address, same license, same person). We had a great experience with the Bee Catchers. We had a hive for almost a year under our first story eve. I found the Bee Catchers info from the Bee Keepers Association. It was very important to us the bees were removed in a humane way and taken to a beekeeper/sanctuary. I called and spoke with Nicole. Super knowledgable, bees are so fascinating and the was like a lesson on how these smart creatures work when I spoke with Nicole. Two gentlemen came out a few days later and gave an estimate after surveying the wall and reading the temperature through the wall (super cool!). Our hive is very large and in the wall. They removed a fairly large piece of the wall outside, removed the bees, and then put the insulation back into the wall and sealed all backup all in the same day. Super professional and beyond friendly. They were really good about being careful during this social distancing situation in LA ... had masks on and gloves and were careful to keep their distance as well. After they were done they poured alcohol all over their hands. Lucky for us we were able to watch the entire removal behind our window in our living room. Our kids were thrilled and Tom was literally giving us an educational lesson through the window! I wish I knew how big our hive was prior, I might have bought a big tub to keep more honeycomb. We did get two big bowls worth and have made some amazing honey to share with friends and family. Yum! Most expensive honey ever, but so worth getting it done the right way and having the repair done all in the same day. No buyers remorse here, wild seeing some of the negative reviews. I'm going to leave an update to my original review, since after I posted it, the company president, Nicole Palladino, responded not once, but twice, in less than 36 hours of my original posting. In her rebuttal, she insinuated I was a "liar," called me a "bully" and "disgustingly rude," and insulted my intelligence ("sounds like you are writing a high school paper"). After reading the other Bee Catcher Yelp reviews, I realize I'm not the first who has experienced her ad hominem attacks, and will certainly not be the last. Nicole's incredibly unprofessional and antagonistic response further reinforces my original stance on this company's poor rating. I have never experienced a business representative who has been so bellicose and aggressive. Therefore, I stand by my original one-star review and am giving this update because of her recent attacks of my character and honesty. Most disturbingly, Nicole states she has the final email response with the estimate, and if anyone wants it to "call me and I'll text it to you." First off, that's not only unprofessional of a business to send a customer's personal information and correspondences to other customers without consent, but also, it is a violation of the California Online Privacy Protection Act. Nicole was lovely on the phone and Sean came out and spent a lot of time and told us he had a spot OUTSIDE and could remove the bee's live and also the honeycomb and they did that as well as repairing the wall they broke to get to the bee's. Mathew and Thomas were great very experienced. I had 2 other companies come out. They wanted to get the bee's and honeycomb out through an inside wall and exterminate them. The bees are back in the same exact tree and in the same exact location, and they tell me "well that is mother nature and YOUR job is not guaranteed". They are a complete scam. I had a 5 year long saga of having bees living in my chimney and coming into my house every single spring. Because of a terrible, lying, management company who kept telling me the board wouldn't approve anything but pest control which just does NOT work for bees. I called and said I wanted to report a beehive in my backyard I said that it was in the back of my neighbors shed. The lady immediately responded very rudely "we don't go in other people's property" I said okay I'm not telling you do go into other people's property I sounded snappy because she was very snappy toward me interrupting me..... (I was just calling to get information) then she aggressively said "we're not a free service" I said okay I didn't expect you to be free service again I said snappily .... (again just calling to get information I didn't know what they offered I was going to recommend them to my neighbor if needed) then she was going off on me saying that I need to have them call I said, okay I'm just getting the pricing and seeing what it is... she started going off on me telling me it was me who was rude and the whole office heard me. I honestly couldn't get a word in every time I would speak she would cut me off then she said "let me speak!" I said okay I let her go off for a few minutes telling me how I was wrong and she was right... telling me how the conversation went... then when I start telling her how she was defensive from the start in her first response to me... she couldn't again let me finish and couldn't handle my perspective and hung up on me after interrupting me and shouting at me! I was definitely responding with an annoyed tone because of how she was being extremely toxic and rude. Now that I see these reviews it makes sense. It's crazy how she just answered assuming so much without asking questions and sounding super defensive like I was trying to get one over on her. What a miserable person! I don't usually get this kind of response when calling places... its usually pretty easy going lol. It's insane what just happened. She was not very pleasant and I'm sorry to anyone who has to deal with her on a personal level! She has no idea how to have good customer service, that's for sure. Everything she wrote is news to me.... besides her snappy "we won't go on someone's property" and "we don't do it for free" that's all the information I was given everything else was her being triggered. Again, I was just trying to get information I don't care what other people assume, I wanted to have information ready so when I go to the neighbors I can give them the number or work something out with them. Over the past 10-12 years I have now used Bee Catchers 3 times. Today was the 3rd time- different locations. I cannot imagine calling any other company. They relocate the queen bee and hive so it's the best thing you can do for the environment. The employees were on time and mindful. Although the price is a little higher than exterminating- how could any one in good conscience eliminate a thriving hive that this planet so desperately needs. My only suggestion would be they change their voicemail service so their reply would be faster. Bee Catchers provides a necessary service and they have a wonderful warranty too. Actions speak louder than words- I keep going back to them for a reason. read more
