The Bee Man helped remove an enormous bee hive that'd been in place for 15+ years - the job was complicated by the fact the bees' home was inside a 50+ year old tree. The entire trunk of this gigantic tree was completely hollow & filled with the hive. Since the tree was outgrowing the space between the sidewalk & street, the city of Los Angeles gave a permit for its removal. However, there were thousands of bees happily living inside ... so the Bee Man coordinated his visit with the tree trimmers who were removing the tree. First of all Elena was the person who answered my phone call. She was very informative and gave me a lot of information on the phone and she was very nice. At first, she didn't think this was a nest, but instead some scouts. And said they may go away, so you should wait a bit. However, the problem got bigger. A couple hours later in the morning, a dozen bees turned into many hundreds, and they entered through the top of the chimney. We quickly sealed off the fireplace with a cardboard box and some shipping tape to secure the cardboard over the fireplace. Meanwhile a bee would slip through from time to time (once every 5 minutes), but we safely picked them up with a container and gently released them outside the house. David came and was also very nice. He told me he worked in this field for 35 years, wow! David, was able to smoke them out of the chimney. Most went up and out of the chimney, but the rest actually walked and flew out the front door. It was like they were drawn out of the dark house into to the sunlight when we opened the door. Then to "Top It All Off", he goes back up to the top of the roof, and adds a screen to cover the top of the chimney. And he sealed it with water resistant caulk to make sure the screen doesn't come off in a rain storm. They even were able to give me an accurate quote over the phone. And that's exactly what I paid. He guarantees his work for a year. However, the screen should do the trick, so I think he's safe. By the way, bees are really cool. None of them were aggressive. I could easily put a file folder on the window, and they would walk on it and let me carry it out of the house. So, as you can tell, they were great! I highly recommend them. VERY IMPRESSED! I am a first time customer of David. He was friendly and super professional. He explained what he was going to do and answered all of my questions. I had a very old lath and plaster outside wall that had a new colony of bees that had moved in. There were old lag bolts that were drilled into the wall and the openings had become big enough for the bees to go into the empty interior wall space. David patched 6 lag bolt holes to prevent future hives from forming and gave me a written warranty. I tried for two months to have David come out. Initially, I spoke with David on the phone, and he asked me to send some photos. I did that and then never heard back from him. I continued to follow up with numerous emails, texts and phone calls and no one would get back to me. Finally, Elena sent me an email apologizing for the long delay in responding and said David would call me. It took him 10 more days to respond to me and that was only because I kept contacting him. When I did speak with David again and got a quote, I agreed to hire him. He asked if I had a roofer to patch the hole he would make. I said I did, but if he had someone he liked to use, I would be interested to use that person. He said he would get back to me... and he never did and that was a while ago. He might do great work, but this is not a great way to deal with potential customers.
