I stopped by here earlier today by myself for lunch. While I had seen Beer Code a number of times before, this was my first chance to actually stop and get food. This restaurant is part of the center core in the Pittsburgh airport. The inside of the restaurant is open and looks like a modern diner mixed with a sports bar. There were rows of red cushioned chairs, a long bar backed by shelves with beer taps and bottles, white tile pillars, low hanging dome lights, and multiple TVs that give it a sports bar feel. After looking over the menu I decided on the chicken sandwich. The menu here did have a lot of local beers which was nice and while I was tempted, it didn't make sense for me on this day. It described my chicken sandwich as hand breaded and fried on a brioche bun with pickles, ranch and lettuce but I got it without the ranch. My food came out somewhere between 10 and 15 minutes after I ordered and it was pretty good. I was a little worried about the sandwich being dry without the ranch but that was not the case. It was juicy and had some flavorful spices in the breading. The bun was clearly toasted and the pickles added some salt and wetness while the lettuce helped with the moisture content. My fries were well seasoned and crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside. At 18 dollars it was a bit more than I would normally pay, but being at the airport you expect things to cost more. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. It was not a cheap fried chicken sandwich but it was tasty and the fries were good as well. read more

Beercode is a casual restaurant that is located in the Pittsburgh International Airport. Really delicious pierogies even considering we're in the airport! Wonderful service with attentive waitresses and a reasonably priced kids menu. We enjoyed our meal and had time to catch a bit of a World Cup match on one of their many tv screens! read more

Front of house team super friendly and gracious. - Hummus: The hummus itself is middle of the road. The giardiniera that comes with it is a treat. - Pretzel: crispy, suspect it is baked. This is a good little pretzel. - Burger, cheese only: Our party member who ordered it was very pleased with it. - Three other members of our group had the beer code burger. One rated it average and the other "I'm picky about my burgers" thought it was significantly above average. Finally, One member of our party thought it was below average and completely unremarkable. - The fries are thin cut and crispy and will remind you of a certain large fast food chain with arches. The table was very pleased with them. - I got the buffalo wings and specified somewhat hard fried. These are solid wings. Good savory buffalo sauce, nicely cooked, juicy. We stopped in for a pre flight beer and app. The variety of local beers on tap was pleasantly surprising and our waiter/server was very friendly and prompt. He quickly brought me a generous sample to help me decide on a beer and he was fast to get our food order in. We decided to split the shrimp, edamame, and carrot appetizer plate and it was tasty! I enjoyed the crunch and the shrimp were more plentiful than we expected for the price/location. The space itself is clean, bright, and they have a decent amount of tables. I usually eat breakfast here before a flight. They have very good eggs and toast. I have not had a chance yet to eat lunch or dinner here. The service is good but it is usually only one person working the whole thing so be patient My preference is to sit outside the restaurant in their extended seating area read more

Prior to Christmas and their staff was amazingly helpful Service is prompt. The food was good but beyond adult length they put in a lot of extra effort to help me get something I had forgotten at the TSA check. Solid airport choice! French fries were SO good. Burgers were great - just enough and the blue cheese Burger was very tasty. Friendly server who even offered us drinks to go! Really clean and spacious as well for an airport spot. Pepsi products. Would recommend! read more

There is no "S" for service here. All my wife wanted was a Pepsi for the flight home. They have a grab and go stand next to the front desk/checkout. So we grabbed one and waited. And waited. There were two occupied tables, one apparent server and one person working the grill. When we grabbed the Pepsi, the server (a middle aged blondish woman) was at a table maybe 20' from us, directly behind the checkout stand. She faced us and then walked to the back of the restaurant, said something to the grill person and then exited to the room to the right of the grille. And we waited. To pay for a freaking Pepsi. When she didn't come out for a few minutes, I moved to the left and could see she was just hanging out in what appeared to be a prep room. She couldn't be bothered to even poke her head out to see if there were customers waiting out front or to serve the customers who were to the right of the prep room. We gave up and left the Pepsi at the register. The verdict: avoid this place like the plague unless you are looking for a place to sit down and be left alone. read more

Service - without a doubt Excellent! Food quality, which is different than preparation (which is good) SUCKs! This time, and I am a frequent travel to Pittsburgh for work, I order bang bang shrimp. Don't bother unless you want a bowl full of carrot sticks, scallions and peas or something such all thickly coated in a mayo based dressing YUK. I counted the shrimp which were the very tiny kind you get in a box from any grocery- 5 and they were not even whole. Just aweful! Biut...the service IS great every time, which is now 4.
