At first I was a bit hesitant to go with Bee's because they charge a fee to come out and do an estimate, but I'm glad I ended up with them. I had a couple other companies give me estimates and Bee's was priced competitively with them, but what set Bee's apart was professionalism. Every interaction was positive, and Zane, the plumber who did my project (replacing two water heaters, one of which was in a difficult spot in an attic), was excellent. This is one smooth operation Bee's Plumbing and Heating is running. I'm blown away by all the images/texts/emails/updates I got before and after the service I received from Julio. For months I've been dealing with a leaky toilet issue to where I've just left the toilet turned off. I reached out to Bee's Plumbing yesterday and they quickly scheduled me for the following day. Amazing service! This review is long overdue. We had my grandmothers bathroom drain redone and Bee's plumbing did a fantastic job. The gentleman that came out was so accommodating. At first he tried to fix the existing pipes, but after that didn't work, he suggested reworking the length that was corroded. That drain had given us grief for years. It now works perfectly. The service took about 2 days and ended up being very reasonable. Unfortunately we moved out of the Seattle area, but would love to find a plumbing company on Pierce County just like this one. read more

Called these guys after my furnace started blowing cold air right when a cold snap hit and it was snowing outside right before the weekend. Called several places, none of which would have been able to come out for several days. Bee's however was able to schedule me that day. They did great work. They were prompt and professional. They took care to be clean in the house which was much appreciated. My only gripe? I think their prices are a bit high. Here's what I was charged. You be the judge. -Hot surface ignition module $673 -Furnace service/tune $205 A quick google after the fact revealed this from a popular website, a "furnace igniter repair doesn't tend to be a major budget problem, and costs less than $300 on average." Bottom line? Really nice guys, solid work, prompt and professional. But overpaying double makes this company a no-go for me in the future and one I cannot recommend unfortunately. ******************* UPDATE 11/14/17 The owner reached out to me to discuss the situation and she offered me a partial refund. From my original review, you could tell that I was not a happy customer. The "fix" happened on a Friday afternoon into the evening on a cold dark winter day. On Monday I get a call from Melissa, the owner. She saw my review and contacted me immediately. After the work they performed on Friday I lost trust in the company. However, she was adamant and persistent; and I'll use her words here, to "make things right." I personally wasn't sure what they could do for me as they had lost my trust, and I wasn't sure I ever wanted them near my home again. I was going to chalk up this experience as a very expensive life lesson on doing my homework on repair companies. However, they did make a very reasonable offer. They offered to put the cost of the repair and jack hammering of my driveway towards that of the new line, they would then match the other company's price and warranty for a new line, and they would fix the driveway. On paper this is a very fair offer, but I still struggled with the decision due to the lack of trust. In the end logic won out and I decided to give them a chance. They came out the same day I got the call the access the situation, and started working on the new line Tuesday morning. I will say this. . . the new line was not as cut and dry as everyone hoped. They encountered issues that were not their fault and the line was more complex than expected. I will say that regardless of my personal feelings, they did a very professional job this time around. The differences: 1. During the first "fix," they were an hour and a half late. This time they showed up bright and early. 2. Last time due to the water leak they left a sludgy muddy mess from the driveway to the water meter, onto the sidewalk, into the street. This time I was amazed they were able to clean up all the mud and you wouldn't have known there was a leak at all. 3. Last time they left a muddy hole in my driveway and told me that if they patched the driveway it would be terrible because that's not what they do. This time not only did they patch the driveway, they even offered a very fair price to repave our entire driveway that started to crack because of the water leak. They even made sure to tamp down several layers of gravel to ensure it wouldn't erode and offer structural stability due to all the water from the leak. (I was super impressed because I called several contractors and they told me that this would be required to fix the driveway correctly). Final thoughts: It was as if I interacted with two very different companies. The one star is for the experience I received originally. The four stars is for the experience I received from Ben (the owner) and his 3 co-workers for all their hard work. After my initial review Bee's contacted me to see how they could make the situation better. We agreed on a fair price and they came out this morning to connect my water supply line (to the house and to the meter). Upon arrival they determined the depth of the trench I dug was insufficient (it was 18" instead of 24") Sam Jr., Aaron, and Brian spent a couple of hours digging it to the proper depth....so I was appreciative of that. Much better experience than I had originally with Bee's. Since not all jobs are equal in size and challenge, more time should be spent in identifying the project scope and billing more appropriately. Because most homeowners will have multiple needs for a plumber during their ownership, finding one you trust will provide a single call for the homeowner when the needs arises...and the plumbing company benefits with multiple service calls. read more

We thought we had a problem with the thermostat on the water heater or something like that as we would have hot water for only about 3 minutes and then it would go cold. Contacted Bee's because they do a variety of plumbing related services including water heaters. Ours is gas and it has a radiant floor heating system connected to it, causing other plumbers to not want to deal with it. Bee's scheduled me quickly, and the communication was excellent on the day of service as the workers were coming from another job. Marcos and Adam arrived at 2 and got busy. They were an outstsanding team. Talking out the issue as it became clear to them it possibly was something to do with the radiant system. Now Bee's doesn't technically work on radiant floor systems, but these two guys didn't let that stop them from trying to figure out just what the problem was. By collaborating thru bouncing off ideas, they hit on the answer: a faulty check valve from the wateer heater to the radiant system. They quickly got to work fixing the problem, then made sure it was the fix needed. Will definitely call Bee's when we need to replace the water heater. It's 8 yrs old and they gave me good advice on how much longer we may have with it and ways to keep it running as long as possible. In a time when good service seems to be waning into the distant past, Adam and Marcos proved good, competent service is alive and well. Thanks!! read more

Two plumbers, Gary and apprentice I think (forgot his name...sorry!) came out the next day after calling Bee's for a clogged washer drain pipe. I appreciated the 60 minute call so I wasn't waiting around and to give me a heads up that they were on the way, as well as an email with the plumbers bio so I knew who was coming. I paid an up front $99. fee to come out, and after an inspection in and under the house I was presented with three plans with price points to address the issue. I appreciated the transparency in problem solving the issue and being able to see the pictures from under the house to help inform my decision. These guys were very professional, from the A-mazing uniforms....that is until they had to crawl under the house, to their time efficiency in arriving prepared with tools and parts for repair. They wore boot covers in the house and cleaned up well after completing the job. I recommend these two plumbers at Bee's, not just because they unclogged my drain, but because they took the time to show that they valued the aspect of customer/business relationship building. Update & Last Edit - I'm done playing games with this company. It's sad. Full Disclosure - I contacted 4 companies over a period of a couple weeks for my plumbing issues. One of the companies was Bee's. One of the other companies I hired. One of the companies was too busy to come over and provide a quote. All together, I received 3 quotes. I didn't wake up and decide to 'slam' Bee's plumbing. I left an honest review. They didn't like it. Great thing is I have records of my phone calls and my emails with them. These things happened. Yep...we chatted by email and by phone. Phone with Ben & Melissa. I have a few issues with this company - They used a scare tactic with my pregnant wife. Turns out they have super powers...much better than carbon monoxide detectors. I should tell Nest to go back to the drawing board and figure out why a human can detect a gas that has no odor but a specialized gadget fails every time. - Their pricing was outrageous. Their initial feedback to me was they had a bad day. My response was I don't buy it. Bad day does not equal rip you off pricing. Bad day equals bad customer service. I never heard back on that. - They Facebook stalked me. Yes - I was looking for an honest and affordable plumber in August....but it was in the year 2015. I found one. He did a great job. This time around, he was booked out pretty far and when you have sewer issues, you can't really wait. They can't accept responsibility for their actions. They pass the blame. Anyways, read the rest of my review. PM if you want more info. Happy to share the actual quotes or our email conversation. ********************* I've never written an update before on a review but I think this business deserves it. I would still strongly not recommend using them. - After leaving my review I was contacted by the company immediately wanting to make a trade. They would do provide free labor if I paid for the parts as long as I removed my review. - they contacted my wife several times asking me to call them and remove my review - Melissa actually emailed me and told me she was browsing my Facebook page. What business stalks their customers on Facebook? - I mentioned several times to them that I thought their prices were highway robbery. The first time she actually addressed the prices was today in her reply to my review. Every other communication with her she just glossed over that fact. Also after leaving my first review I was contacted by a half dozen Yelpers who had done business with this company who told me they were requested to remove their review and they inquired if I was contacted as well. It seems this company has a habit of making trades to get rid of bad reviews. This would mean that their rating on Yelp is artificially high due to this. I think it's a bit funny that Melissa thinks their bid was a little high. $5k for a hot water tank install? There was a thread on Nextdoor recently where people were sharing prices. The average price was $800 (about 30 people replied). One person paid close to $2k. Those are installed prices. I also still stand by my scare tactic that they used with my pregnant wife. Melissa's comment on the CO is not even close to factual. Here is her quote: "When Ben arrived, he inhaled a large amount of carbon monoxide." Here's the funny things with that comment: - Ben told my wife that you can see or smell CO so she wouldn't know if there was a leak until it was too late and she passed out (which is actually true. Called Bees plumbing, and got Eric out helping us with a very stressful situation. Eric is very calm and kind. He does a great job explaining things about plumbing. He observed that there is some waxy grease in the drainage line and asked us if there is any oily thing we push through. Yes, wife probably put too much oil left over which caused a kitchen sink blockage before. That right there is already a big tip. It's a pleasure working with Eric. Highly recommend him! read more

I was impressed with Blake and Darius and the wonderful job they did. The 19050s home we live in had an old sewer line puncture. The guys were great and were careful not to do any more demo work than necessary. We finally can run both the dishwasher and washing machine at the same time. There was an issue of drainage upstairs that we notice a few hours after they had finished and left, but I was able to get ahold of the customer rep immediately and they scheduled a follow-up. They were able to come and figure out the issue in about 30 minutes. It's nice to see small businesses doing well. read more

Hiring folks for services where you're not an expert and you're really unsure if you're going to get ripped off can be nerve-wracking. My garbage disposal was not working, and I contacted several places. Melissa was the only one to first suggest that I try the reset button on the garbage disposal before she comes out, basically offering advice which would cost her money since if that worked, she wouldn't be needed. Nobody else suggested it, and they instead rushed to book an appointment with me and charge me a minimum fee. Thank you, Melissa, for your incredibly awesome customer service. I reached out to Bee's Plumbing and Heating on a Saturday evening due to a leak coming from my garbage disposal and within less than 10 minutes they responded and offered help. When they came to my home to make the repair they walked me through step by step, taking time to show me in detail what the issue was, made a recommendation for how I can avoid the issue in the future, and were incredibly honest about what needed to be fixed. Then, the two guys they sent made repeated sexist comments to me about my ability "use tools" or "even own tools". She treated me extremely well and did everything in her power to make things right. Her dedication to her customers is exceptional and admirable. Updated Review: I called Bee's plumbing to discuss my bill with them because of high costs for what was under $100 in parts and about 2 hours of labor. My bill total for replacing the toilet wax seal, float ball, and figuring out what was wrong was originally $917. Pulling and resetting the toilet alone was $468. Float ball was $125. Inspection to figure out what's wrong cost $225. Dispatch fee was $99. Sam discounted the bill by $275, bringing the total to $708. The dispatch fee was discounted by Sam only after I left a five star review for them, when I was told it would be applied towards my bill originally (the company confirmed this shouldn't have happened and apologized). They also apologized for the tackiness of their plumber Sam Sr asking for a five star review in order to knock off the $100 dispatch fee. They discounted my total bill to about $500, which I do appreciate greatly. They did good work and completely fixed the problem, but this high cost encourages me to try another plumbing service. Original review: Sr. did an excellent job and kept me informed of everything that was going on all along the way. Extremely polite and handy.
