We ordered the hand pounded rice mochi milk tea as well as the jasmine orange fruit tea. The milk tea was pretty good and I enjoyed the consistency of the milk mochi. It definitely had more texture than I expected but it had a nice taste. The milk tea was also very fragrant with the addition of the rice and chunks of taro. Unfortunately the orange drink was pretty disappointing. The tea flavor was way too subtle and the orange just made the drink taste like watered down orange juice. The mochi is hand pounded and so instead of it tasting super heavy, it was really soft and went down pretty easily. Mix your drink beforehand because I saved most of the taro for the end. What is interesting about this one is the signature drink, Bamboo Oolong Oat-milk tea that I do not find in other tea places. I tried this drink and got it in medium because the small size was like an 8 oz cup that big! With ice it would be water downed! The medium was a pretty standard size. Got it with one third sugar and less ice and the drink came out with a nice aroma. I sipped it and could taste the bamboo! The drink did not really taste like milk tea though. I could barely taste the oat-milk! It was very subtle. The drink tasted more like a fruit tea and when I finished the drink, it was still somewhat heavy so I decided to open the lid and saw 2 orange pieces! I did not realize that they inserted those orange slices into the drink. No wonder it was so fruity! It tasted like lychee to me the entire time I had the drink. BeFine Cha is also like other tea places with the straws that they use. It's a tiny straw with 3 holes for you to take tiny sips. I think they made the straw this way so you can enjoy the drink better instead of gulping it one shot! Anyways, the interior is very green and cozy! 3 wooden chairs by the window for sitting. They got thermal bags for large orders. If you just got one drink then they give you this slim, white plastic bag with the logo on it! This place is almost five stars, except that they fumble the execution a little bit. Basically, if you're getting the hot fresh taro drink, it's not going to be that hot. But if you warm it up, it's amazing. I came here around 7:30pm on a Monday night, and there was no line. The staff person didn't speak much English, but thankfully some random guy in the shop helped translate for us. We got a hot taro milk tea with cheese foam, brown sugar boba, at 50% sweetness. (Note: if I came back, I'd get the same drink with 30% sweetness). The drink was made quickly and came in a compostable cup with an adorable little... cat? shaped lid. The blended taro (fresh, not powdered!) was cold, so while my milk tea was hot, the drink rapidly cooled down. This wasn't a big deal to me, personally, because I wanted to go home and share the drink with my friend on her couch, but if I'd wanted to drink it immediately, I think it might not have been as good as it was when I brought it home and warmed it up in the microwave. Once the taro and tea were microwaved (NOT the boba), the drink was delicious. The boba was the perfect texture, the taro was properly blended, and the flavor was excellent. I'd definitely get this again. I was sad that the cheese foam layer had mixed in during our subway ride home, but other than that, I'd order this again, and heat it up to have again at home. read more
