Black Sugar Oolong Milk Tea and Kumquat and Lemon
    Robert R.

It was a chilly day in Chinatown. We happened to walk in and saw a wide of tea Boba drinks. We settled on Mango and a Kumquat and Lemon tea. The lil guy ordered a Black sugar assam boba drinks. The counter guys were nice and the teas were ready quick. The teas were refreshing and it hit the spot. Definitely worth the stop and it had a lot of drink choices.

Ten Ren's is amazing in Taiwan, so it was a bit disappointing when I tried the jasmine milk tea here. I can't pinpoint the exact taste, but there was definitely something in the drink that wasn't supposed to be there like some barley chunks. The drink also just wasn't as clean as I'd hoped. Honestly that's on me for being impatient and leaving the Molly Tea line next door.

Its a hot day. I just stopped in and got an iced honey green tea. Its so satisfying!!! They also have really good bubble tea, best in the neighborhood, in my opinion. Also a great spot to stock up on loose tea or tea bags.

My favorite drink from Ten Ren is the iced black milk bubble tea. It's had great black tea flavor that what I wanted it.

Convinced my husband to try the bubble tea at this tea store bec I know they use their own. I went there when iced matcha was just getting popular and I remember liking it a lot. The fruit drinks use syrup so will not get those here. My less-ice jasmine drink had no ice at all so was drinking warm-ish bubble tea. Can taste the tea though which is good, so maybe if I asked more ice it will lose the flavor. Small amount of boba in the drink but had a good chew to them. Sadly, I most likely will not return.

We love boba. It's delicious, and it's refreshing. Since we visited during a heat wave, we knew it would hit the spot for us. In the week that we visited NYC this time, we went to Ten Ren's Tea shop at least 5 times. Each time, we purchased boba and some tea (loose leaf or bagged, depending on the variety) to take home with us. But we noticed that, each time, our drinks became more and more expensive, even though we placed the same order - and inside of the same week. This suggests to me that they started overcharging us at home point, and it was pretty annoying. Additionally, the last time we purchased tea, a lady in her 60s or so charged me $.50 for a bag, although she had not charged me for a bag on our other visits (during which we had also purchased the same 3 boba and at least 2 or 3 packages of tea to take home). It struck me as insanely stingy to charge a customer for a bag when they're buying $20 in boba and $36 worth of loose leaf or bagged tea in addition. For these two reasons, we would probably not return.

Came here bc I've been to Ten Ren in the Bay and love their tea. I'm not sure if they're just doing a bad job with preparation or what, but it just didn't hit the same here. My peach tea was a bit too sweet and didn't have much tea flavor, and the milk tea was watery.

One of my favorite boba places if I'm unsure of what to get. They're always good or good enough and will definitely satisfying some of the craving. Even if you got a boba too sweet or a bit flavorless, just tell the employee and they will help you adjust your drink. Overall, there's a reason why a lot of people come and come back to get tenren!

Ten Ren has been around for a while and sells many different types of tea. I have been coming here since 2006 and loved getting the sesame bubble tea, which tastes so good. The sesame seeds melting in your mouth. This time I got a small bubble tea at $6.00 and the bubbles were fresh and soft. The milk tea was kind of sweet and bitter because of the tea. The staff was attentive and fast and I got my bubble tea quick. The store is very organized and all their tea leaves are stored in nice tea tin canisters.

    Lychee slush and honeydew slush

Love there slushes! Especially on a summer day it is the perfect treat. Well prices and flavorful considering boba in the area can go up to $9 these days . Got the lychee slush and honeydew slush. Lychee was perfect, honeydew tasted a bit artificial but I feel like that's most honeydew flavored items in general. Place is always clean and they get the boba out pretty quick! As for service , I'm always greeted and staff is very efficient!

My family came in when they were about to close up so we had to be quick. My nephew who is the sweetest wanted to get his Mom some suvineers from his visit out here in the Big Apple. My nephew whose Mom is half Korean and Italian put thought into his gift and we decided to get his Mom some Chinese tea, among some other things while shopping in Chinatown. I saw some lovely tea sets and individual tea pots. They had tea that you could purchase by the pound. We decided to go with some already packed tea bags that were sold in a gift set. I also got myself some plum tea. I would love to return to try some of the lychee tea they sold in one of those barrels. I would give this place a thumbs up and Happy Yelping to you!

This location is accessible via A train at 42nd Street Port Authority. Upon arriving there was a woman in front of me arguing with the staff persistently haggling the price to be lowered, but to no avail. Woman, no means no! There are other bubble tea businesses within the locale that may appease your needs, but not this particular Gong Cha whom apologized for the inconvenience of the inability to lower the price on the product ordered. As I waited patiently, I took photos of this business' environment. The staff stated the cash register is not working and currently unable to accept either credit or debit cards, but cash only payments. Ergo, I was unable to obtain a sales receipt nor a drink label printed. I wonder if the staff reboot the register or check their internet connection to be offline as the cause of non-functioning O/O/O. [1] Customer service is average. Well... if the staff can lower the price for one customer why not lower it for ALL customers? Surely, why not make my drink order as inclusion for lowering the price, please? Hell no, of course not! The conclusion was ironclad. In the real world, this cannot happen. As I stood on line waiting for this woman to let go and walk away from her argument I had shrunk to my own gnawing thoughts. I took photos of the atmospheric environment. There is a cute signage: "Bubble tea where refreshment meets creativity." The pink metal water bottle is very adorably cute which is something that I would certainly purchase. Peach green tea, medium $7.25 My favorite default topping grass jelly (aka herbal jelly) loeng4 fan2 涼粉 is my standard request for $0.75 which was good, but not served chilled. At 30% sugar level request, it was slightly higher in sugar content. Former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg would shake his head at me in disbelief with disapproval and disappointment for consuming this excessively sugary drink. The peach green tea was not the cause of the sweetness but a man-made sugar embed measurement error. Nevertheless, this Gong Cha satisfied my bubble tea fix as it is now my addiction - in addition to my other addiction, writing. [1] O/O/O = Out Of Order

Ahh, grass jelly loeng4 fan2 涼粉 is my childhood favorite dessert and summons nostalgia! It is my mission to search for bubble tea businesses that offers grass jelly as a topping for my primary reason to patronize. It was abundant which filled one quarter of my medium sized drink. The grass jelly topping is New York City standard priced at $0.50 at least there is sustainability and a sense of normalcy. I requested regular ice, but the entire ice dispensed disappointedly melted and the drink became room temperate. Heat wave medium $6.00 Passionfruit green tea with grass jelly, 50%, light sugar. The drink alone was good quality. While scanning the electronic menu the drink names appear very comical and not business appropriate as well as this bubble tea business name Ho Ho Te. The sound speakers is boisterously loud blasting music directly at my face by the ordering counter. The cashier associate was 90% inaudible of her customer service questions due to the boisterously loud blasting music as I had to fight loud vs. loud by blurting loudly several times: "WHAT?" Why would a business intentionally place sound speakers in front of a ordering counter station where customers must communicate their food/drink orders? How can customers place their drinks orders with clear specific description/instructions only for the cashier associate to inadvertently obfuscate by misinformation because the message conveyed was utterly misinterpreted? Communication is vital for ordering and order fulfillment accuracy in the food service industry! The cardboard paper straws available are environmentally sustainable friendly for biodegradable and compostable. However, these cardboard straws taste AWFULl!! The drink selection is very limited menu compared with other bubble tea competitors. Disappointedly there is no Jasmine green tea on the menu. There are some food items. Takeout menus are available for grabs. Loyalty card is available which also serve as business card where the back is printed in gold foil. This business is very accessible by MTA NYC Transit at Port Authority 42nd Street's A, C, E trains and buses near the peripheral of Times Square.
