Great ice cream with lots of gun combinations of toppings! You come here to go over the top and have a sugar fest not your simple scoop. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fast service, small inside, but you may be able to grab a seat or go walk around.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The ube flavor was unique and delicious! Love the twist on ice cream flavors. Good choice of toppings. O

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The ice cream/cake jar is definitely aesthetic and Instagram-worthy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My friend and I both opted for the ube flavor, and I thoroughly enjoyed the taste of the ube ice cream. I love that you can customize your dessert with different flavors and toppings. The staff was super friendly, and I'm looking forward to trying their boba drinks next time.

Flotea Brown Sugar Bubble Tea and Earl Grey Ice Cream

If you like tea and you want ice cream this is the place to go. Though it may initially seem on the pricey side, all their servings are huge and they really fill everything up. I'm partial to their floteas, essentially a boba tea ice cream float. I split their earl grey brown sugar boba with my kid and she asked me... when does the ice cream end?!? It doesn't! They put milk tea and boba on the bottom and generously fill the cup up with no weird empty space or middle space filled with ice (I know yuck- that def has happened). It's just pure tea and ice cream. I've gotten the matcha flo tea before but I got the brown sugar one this time- I think I prefer the matcha more. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Workers are super friendly and the space is clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Someone please tell me why this bright blue soft serve liquidates faster than Lehman Brothers in '08. Everything is fine and dandy for two minutes; suddenly, there's turquoise streams of sugar water streaming down my hand as I'm frantically trying to limit the damage by wolfing down the ice cream. I'm no longer smiling and enjoying yourself. I'm in the fight of your life against this beast, aptly named "Monster Cookie Ice Cream". Also, there's just something comical about seeing abandoned splatters of bright purple and blue ice cream on the block leading up to Surreal Creamery. It's like a tribute to the victims who were defeated by this $10 scam.

Have loved this icecream since i moved to NYC few years ago. Their servings are good size. Must try! [[HIGHLIGHT]]There isnt much indoor seatings but great to pickup and walk around the neighborhood.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Earl Grey Ice Cream + Brown Sugar Boba Drink thing

Got the Brown Sugar Bubble Tea Earl Grey Vanilla Ice Cream. The final product was no joke bigger than my head. That was absolutely amazing. Easily sharable for 2 people (also super sweet, so probably want to split it). For the price for 2 people, this spot is super affordable and delicious. Also makes for a great picture. Ice cream is good, kind of like fro-yo texture, so don't expect real ice cream scoop (like McDonald's ice cream, but Earl Grey flavored). The boba at the bottom is chewy and good (also not the best you'll ever have). Overall, none of the individual parts are the best things you'll ever taste, but for the massive size, great presentation, and getting both Ice Cream + Boba + Milk Tea all in one order, I loved it. Quite the blend, and would definitely go back to share with others.

Absolutely loved this place! The ice cream is rich, creamy, and full of flavor--you can really taste the quality. I tried the milk tea too, and it was perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and super refreshing. And the service is excellent.

Stopped in after dinner and this did not disappoint! The servings are HUGE!! It's a pretty good deal, considering you'll probably have leftovers. Pro tip: ask for a lid for the mason jar! After ordering, there was no wait and the soft serve came out after less than a minute. The shop is decorated with lots of Asian decor and plants. I had the Taro Jar, and it was delicious! The taro flavor was very fragrant, and the graham cracker topping was the perfect pairing. I would definitely come back to try some of the other flavors!

When searching for the best ice cream in New York via yelp, surreal creamery popped up. The place is definitely popular, I had to wait in a smallish line to be able to get my ice cream. I ended up getting a customized mason jar with vanilla ice cream, Oreos, chocolate syrup, Cocoa Puffs, and whip cream (12.25$). The mason jar creation was pretty good with a unique and interesting appearance (plus you're able to keep the glass jar they give you). Overall, It's a solid location that I would definitely recommend for a sweet treat.

Brown sugar boba with earl Grey vanilla ice cream

Wonderful boba and ice cream place which I haven't visited so far on McDougal. Their cup size is so big for boba that can't be finished in one go. Got the brown sugar boba with earl Grey vanilla ice cream. Here's the thing, Vanilla ice cream is so common but the earl Grey vanilla flavor is new and yummy. Tastes very much like the tea. Also this is a very small place and there's only a bench available inside with no stools. Service was good.

I must preface that this dessert spot rating can vary drastically by person based on what they're looking for. Surreal Creamery does a great job of delivering a lot of ice cream in an aesthetic way (would recommend the mason jar for the aesthetic)! However, for me it's a bit surreal to think this desert is meant to be finished by 1-2. It's a lot - food coma inducing 1/3 of the way in. Frankly, I was pretty full after eating the top part that extended past the mason jar...The ice cream itself and the other elements are all fine/tasty (not the best and not the worst in flavor). For my preferences, I'll probably stick to other ice cream spots in the area.

Matcha Bubble Tea and Taro Ice Cream

Oh I love matcha and this place had the best matcha ice cream. The portions are huge. Definitely could've just gotten one for me and my fiancé and not 2 like we decided. The ice cream was put together really fast. The place is small and there is no seating. So it's definitely ice cream to go. It's in the middle of the city so you can just take a nice walk or sit in your car. The decor was very nice. This ice cream literally sent me into a food coma. I tucked myself into bed as soon as I got home and woke up the next day clueless as to what happened. One of the best ice cream I've had and will definitely get it again on an empty stomach.

    Are there vegan menu options?

Went there the other day and was told that ALL the milk teas are made with milk powder, so none of them are vegan. They do sometimes have a vegan almond ice cream though.

Do they give you the mason jar cap?

    Yes

Will the vegan soft serve option be made permanent?

When I asked the worker they said it is permanent as of now. So no guarantees.

Their Instagram recently said they had dairy free almond soft serve

This location is accessible via A train at 42nd Street Port Authority. Upon arriving there was a woman in front of me arguing with the staff persistently haggling the price to be lowered, but to no avail. Woman, no means no! There are other bubble tea businesses within the locale that may appease your needs, but not this particular Gong Cha whom apologized for the inconvenience of the inability to lower the price on the product ordered. As I waited patiently, I took photos of this business' environment. The staff stated the cash register is not working and currently unable to accept either credit or debit cards, but cash only payments. Ergo, I was unable to obtain a sales receipt nor a drink label printed. I wonder if the staff reboot the register or check their internet connection to be offline as the cause of non-functioning O/O/O. [1] Customer service is average. Well... if the staff can lower the price for one customer why not lower it for ALL customers? Surely, why not make my drink order as inclusion for lowering the price, please? Hell no, of course not! The conclusion was ironclad. In the real world, this cannot happen. As I stood on line waiting for this woman to let go and walk away from her argument I had shrunk to my own gnawing thoughts. I took photos of the atmospheric environment. There is a cute signage: "Bubble tea where refreshment meets creativity." The pink metal water bottle is very adorably cute which is something that I would certainly purchase. Peach green tea, medium $7.25 My favorite default topping grass jelly (aka herbal jelly) loeng4 fan2 涼粉 is my standard request for $0.75 which was good, but not served chilled. At 30% sugar level request, it was slightly higher in sugar content. Former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg would shake his head at me in disbelief with disapproval and disappointment for consuming this excessively sugary drink. The peach green tea was not the cause of the sweetness but a man-made sugar embed measurement error. Nevertheless, this Gong Cha satisfied my bubble tea fix as it is now my addiction - in addition to my other addiction, writing. [1] O/O/O = Out Of Order

Ahh, grass jelly loeng4 fan2 涼粉 is my childhood favorite dessert and summons nostalgia! It is my mission to search for bubble tea businesses that offers grass jelly as a topping for my primary reason to patronize. It was abundant which filled one quarter of my medium sized drink. The grass jelly topping is New York City standard priced at $0.50 at least there is sustainability and a sense of normalcy. I requested regular ice, but the entire ice dispensed disappointedly melted and the drink became room temperate. Heat wave medium $6.00 Passionfruit green tea with grass jelly, 50%, light sugar. The drink alone was good quality. While scanning the electronic menu the drink names appear very comical and not business appropriate as well as this bubble tea business name Ho Ho Te. The sound speakers is boisterously loud blasting music directly at my face by the ordering counter. The cashier associate was 90% inaudible of her customer service questions due to the boisterously loud blasting music as I had to fight loud vs. loud by blurting loudly several times: "WHAT?" Why would a business intentionally place sound speakers in front of a ordering counter station where customers must communicate their food/drink orders? How can customers place their drinks orders with clear specific description/instructions only for the cashier associate to inadvertently obfuscate by misinformation because the message conveyed was utterly misinterpreted? Communication is vital for ordering and order fulfillment accuracy in the food service industry! The cardboard paper straws available are environmentally sustainable friendly for biodegradable and compostable. However, these cardboard straws taste AWFULl!! The drink selection is very limited menu compared with other bubble tea competitors. Disappointedly there is no Jasmine green tea on the menu. There are some food items. Takeout menus are available for grabs. Loyalty card is available which also serve as business card where the back is printed in gold foil. This business is very accessible by MTA NYC Transit at Port Authority 42nd Street's A, C, E trains and buses near the peripheral of Times Square.
