Not to be dramatic, but the drinks here were pretty terrible. I got the guava grape which was overly sour, tangy, and icy--all at once. I asked to adjust the sweetness, and the staff were very accommodating. However, the taste couldn't be saved. I also tried the Jasmine tea here, which tasted watered down. I travelled to Little Italy, Lower Manhattan, NYC based on previous Yelp reviews to attain quality bubble tea and a satisfactory patronized experience. Why do you respond "yeah" followed by a curt aggressive "yeah" when obviously you do not have this product? Do not sell a product that you do not possess for profit advantage. It is about principle and business ethics. I believe this young male cashier is oblivious and completely naive to his workplace situational awareness. Really unique and tasty drinks. I tried the lychee drangonfruit creation which was very fresh and had blended plus chunky bits. The lychee bits could have been better chopped or blended as they barely went up the straw. The separation of the two fruits was fun for a bit but also made it difficult to drink. The pearls were a nice burst too. The size of the drink is decent but at their prices it should not be any smaller. High quality ingredients, fresh in-season offerings, and care of the craft is apparent in every drink made at Jooy tea. I was drawn in to the store to try their persimmon drink line. Persimmons are one of my absolutely favorite winter fruits, and you don't see too many boba shops making beverages with them, but jooy tea advertised 3 different offerings with the seasonal fruit. All were smoothies blended with tea, so I decided to try the Persimmon Coco which also featured coconut milk and jammy persimmon on the bottom. This drink was SO GOOD!! At 70% sugar, it was perfectly refreshing, not too sweet, and did not overpower the light taste of persimmon (not too sweet=highest praise iykyk). The jam on bottom was also full of large persimmon chunks so this drink was so fresh and well worth the money. My partner tried the matcha rice mochi, and also loved it. It was a blended matcha smoothie with a mochi/glutinous rice mixture on bottom, super tasty and really felt like more of a dessert than just a drink. Small waiting/seating area could get crowded during rushes, but the workers handled them quickly. Could order either from kiosk or at the counter, I had some questions so I ordered up front and the worker was extremely helpful in explaining the differences between the 3 drinks. Although these drinks are on the more expensive side (~ $10 each), each one is crafted with fresh seasonal ingredients and not full of syrups or powders like some other cheaper places. After dinner nearby, we came here for some drinks and sweets. It was almost closing time and we were the only ones in the shop on a friday night (around 7:15pm). We ordered a few drinks and 2 egg waffles. Drinks were refreshing, sweet and delicious. Our one friend was parch and needed something after our meal.... this place hit the spot. Waffles took abit longer than expected because it was the new guy's first time making it and had to get his other team mate to come help and redo one of them (which cause the first waffle to be cold). I believe it took 2 tries before they were able to finish the second waffle and gave to us. We kept hearing them talk (he messed up/needed helpe, etc)... I'm glad he got to learn and slowly perfect his technique in making better egg waffles. But I do wish they could have apologize and explain (in case future customers didn't overhear the whispers of help) for better customer service. We were understanding but do believe that their hospitality can improve as there would be less-understanding guests. Didn't taste much flavor as the chocolate overpowered everything. Also wasn't really sweet which made me thought of dark chocolate or just cocoa powder mixed in the batter without any sugar. One of the largest variety of drinks for an nyc milk tea shop. Some of my favorite seasonal ones are the persimmon and papaya drinks. When those aren't in season, the taro mochi or taro sticky rice are always good. Recently went back and tried their newer mochi barley and mochi matcha drinks. The barley was quite pleasant with barley poppings and less sugar. The mochi matcha was surprisingly sweet in comparison. As I was scrolling through on the kiosk, it seemed like they had endless drinks. Jooy has one of my top drinks, which I've tried at another location and gave 5 stars--the persimmon coco--but it was no longer in season when I came this time. I tried something new, and so this review will also consider that. I ordered the signature fruit tea 100% sugar and it was more tea heavy than fruity which is probably why I didn't love this. It also had a slight bitterness, which I think is due to the smashed lemon and lime slices, and so this drink wasn't as refreshing as I wanted it to be. (3/5 stars) read more

First time trying this chain of Boba and I am truly impressed at the flavors. They have a location right in Little Italy, which is super convenient. unfortunately it looks like they were short staffed. There was only one person making Boba and the wait time was around 20 minutes. We had an appointment to run to, so if we knew it was that long we probably wouldn't have gotten the drinks there. The flavor was really good, but I have to say there's so much ice that it felt like there was barely any actual tea inside. For eight dollars I would recommend they put a little bit less ice, but forgot to take a photo of the drink and only remembered while I was on the subway. literally finished the drink from a short walk and held onto save the ice would melt a little bit. read more

One of my favorite tea shops opened a location in Chinatown! I was so excited to walk by this place that I changed my mind and went here instead of a different bubble tea shop I was planning to go to. The inside is a bit small but with some bench seating. They didn't have my favorite pomegranate green tea so I decided to try the Dewy Grape, which is green grapes blended with jasmine tea and lime with crystal boba. It was so refreshing and I liked the chewy crystal boba. I'd recommend 30% sugar as my 50% was a little sweet for my liking. This place is a little pricey but they have a wide creative menu that I recommend everyone to try. Next time I'll def get the bubble waffles! read more

One of my favorite fruit tea and bubble tea shop has opened in Chinatown! They used to have a Hell's Kitchen location which is now closed, but they have several locations including Union Square and Brooklyn. You can order on 1of 2 kiosks or at the cashier desk. There is an e-board that lets you know when your order number is ready to pickup. There are wooden bench seats by the window of the store and a small arm piece to place your drink and food on. Great place for a snack and boba drink. I got the Wonder Grape slush with 30% sugar. It has real smashed grapes and crystal boba in it. This drink is quite refreshing especially on a warm day. I also had the eggy waffle. I would've liked it to be more crunchy and less soft, but it's still a good snack. They also have a happy hour combo special during the weekdays from 11am-3pm: the classic eggy waffle + golden passion fruit drink. Worth checking out. read more

There are too many bubble tea shops in nyc. Mostly can be organized into good and bad categories. This one is clearly in the latter. A major tell-tell sign is to order any of the fruit teas after 6pm. If the tea tastes more bitter like either over brewed or sat there for too long, you know they don't take their TEA craft seriously. Quality at the end of day should be the same as beginning of the day. Will not come back again for sure. PS: your staff is also not properly trained on all the menu items. Either spend more time to quality trained them or reduce the menu so they improve the know-how. read more

What allows me to decide to be a returning customer is the customer service and Jooy by far offers that. I was a big time Yaya fan but despite how good their tea was, their attitude was completely disgusting that I rather opt for good drinks AND good attitude from Jooy. Yaya could really learn a thing or do. I tried their Brown Sugar Boba Latte, perfectly made. They torch the brown sugar on top! The next time I went, I ordered the Matcha Tornado. When I saw it the first time, it threw me off because of the cheese foam but it was perfect. They have two kiosks on the left side for you to order on your own. Minimal seating due to the space but that's out of their control. It's a nice little shop that can be easily missed by. Give them a try! read more
