The calzones were decent, though the chef forgot which was which, so we had to figure out once served by cutting them open to check ingredients. Wings and sauces were good, no issue. I thought about this a while before deciding to write a review. My family and I went to enjoy pizza and watch the White Sox game before we decided to purchase CHSN. Our experience was somewhat ruined because the server/bartender was a Cubs fan and made a number of derogatory comments about our watching the game, one comment being (when we asked for a straw for our sodas) was that Sox fans didn't get straws. I completely forgot to review this spot while I was in Chicago so better late than never. Beggars was AWESOME! We went there on a recommendation of my buddy's sister and we were not disappointed. The establishment was amazing. And throughout it all we met the owner who was born and raised in Chicago and he found out we were from New York so he came and asked us personally what did we think. New York Pizza and Chicago style pizza has always been a rivalry as long as I can remember. Even though they are both different the two styles i like very much. Of course when in Chicago you have to do a deep dish while in New York is the regular style pizza. This Chicago deep dish was an absolute favorite of mine. I told the owner it's the best deep dish I've ever had and he gifted me a Beggars t-shirt to take back home and let my friends know to come and visit. The ambiance to the restaurant was nice and chill with a bar and TV's going around it where you can enjoy a nice sports event while eating. The staff and obviously speaking with the owner directly was also nice to do while eating at any establishment. 5 Stars and I recommend this to anyone visiting Chicago! read more

THE LOVEABLE TRAMP Don't be dissuaded by the shabby-looking spokesperson--the pizza at Beggars is damn good. Residents of the Windy City and outlying suburbs have a plethora of pizza joints to choose from, whether cheap chains (Papa John's, Dominos, the Hut) or beloved Chicago institutions (Pequod's, Gino's East). And just like with sports teams, families have their allegiances (Lou Malnati's = yay! Giordano's = booooo). Well, THIS family digs Beggars more than just about any other place out there. Beggars Pizza is served at White Sox games, which is where my wife first had a slice and instantly fell in love. She found out we had a Beggars location 5 minutes from the house, and we've been low key obsessed with them ever since. Our typical order is a large 14" thin crust pepperoni ($26), although we've yet to try their deep dish or stuffed pizza.....maybe someday when we don't have sh*t to do for at least 48hrs. Prices are a bit higher than average, and we're OK with that since the quality of ingredients seems better than average. My toddler is a huge fan of the cheesy flatbread ($7.50), which is both delicious AND a good price when you consider a small (10") cheese pizza is $13. Why pay twice as much for the addition of tomato sauce? The bosco sticks (3 for $10) are soft breadsticks filled with cheese and served with marinara, they're great. The breaded zucchini ($7.25) with ranch are fine, but nowhere near crispy enough. I had to put them in the air fryer for 10-15 minutes to crisp 'em up more. The appetizer "pick 3" for $14 isn't a super deal, as you only get half portions. Get a full order of the mini tacos ($7.50) or cheese curds ($11) instead. * TL;DR * Pizza Exec 1: "hey guys, for our new restaurant logo I'm thinking of a dirty bum holding a pizza box" Pizza Exec 2: "a....WHAT??" PE1: "you know, like a grown-up version of Pigpen, but casual" PE2: "the filthy kid from Charlie Brown that's always surrounded by a cloud of debris?!?!" PE1: "yeah" PE2: "we are absolutely NOT going with that idea, Jerry. a hobo??? no one will want to eat here." The joke's on Pizza Exec #2, because as it turns out, if the food is tasty enough people will completely gloss over the fact that the brand ambassador is a homeless person. An odd choice, but it's certainly distinctive. We've exclusively ordered carryout, however as the weather gets warmer I can envision myself enjoying a pitcher of cold beer on their outdoor patio while waiting for a personal pie. I'm cool with throwing a little 5* love their way, seeing as how their pizza made my wife and son very happy. They then put me on hold for 10minutes saying they had to process the order. They then came back and said they had to transfer me to a manager. Their deep dish is pretty good. The other food does not really stand out but it does taste good. I wouldn't entirely recommend someone to go here and that is because they do take a long time with the food. I always have to wait way beyond when my order is supposed to be ready when I do to go order. When it is dine in, it feels like forever when the food comes out. They are fast with the appetizers, though. The people are overall nice with the exception of some people who just give you your order without a simple "hello" or "you're welcome". They recently started doing Free Bingo on Thursday nights. I was there with a group of people. The server had the entire bar area to herself, but she did a good job of managing it all. I ordered the Nachos just for something to snack on, and it came out as a huge platter: definitely enough to share! I was impressed that the server managed to do separate checks for our group of 6. I would definitely return again, but the place did get a bit crowded for Bingo. read more

Bar service was decent even though the bartender had to work the bar and surrounding tables and then had some table in the main dining area. She had a great personality and apologized a number of times. Luckily, the bar wasn't that crowded. Pizza was really good. They did somewhat mess up our order but it was resolved quickly. This place is super pick up friendly! Make sure to give them the full 45-50 minutes to bake. The staff was super friendly and had both of our pies ready to go when we walked inside. The pizza itself was AMAZING. All of the ingredients were fresh and plentiful. One pie had sausage and Italian beef while the other one had pepperoni and banana peppers. Both were great! I went to Beggar's pizza in Bolingbrook because they have a buffet. I've always liked the food, and I've never had a complaint about their quality. The problem I have is if you're going to have a buffet, you need to manage it properly, I was sitting there for 10 minutes and nothing was happening to the buffet as far as replenishing it. You can't have patrons coming to your location on a lunchtime crunch and the buffet be completely empty, no pasta only a couple slices of pizza who's going to sit down and pay for that. The buffet is from 11 AM to 2 PM and I was there at 12:30 PM so it wasn't like it was the end of it. you guys are better than this. You need to fix this problem. read more

We were here on a Saturday night; having a pizza on the patio. Sam was our waitress. They were doing a great job social distancing and had hand sanitizer available. The patio is partially covered so we got to a high top in the shade. The menu stated that a pizza would take a bit of time and our waitress shared it would be about 20-30 minutes. After being a Beggars pizza customer for over 30 years (I grew up in Blue Island) I may finally had my last slice. I ordered 2 pizzas a large Deep Dish with sausage, onions and mushrooms and a large thin which was ok. However my deep dish was burned on top and had no onions and the mushrooms were raw. If I did not know how to cook I would have let this slide but what they did was recycle a sausage pizza especially since the cheese was not even and the pizza was not hot in the bottom like it usually is. After many suggestions of waiting until things settle down, we decided to give them a 2nd chance last night and well, they are still horrible! Let's start with the fact that when I buy over priced pizza and wings it sould atleast be made with FRESH NOT CANNED MUSHROOMS!! I cant even say this pizza is disgusting because it tasted like nothing, literally has no flavor at all! The crust is just terrible no flavor seems like its stale or over worked.
