Deep dish pizza is a VERY SAD Story! Don't get it. It doesn't even half way match deep dish from other Pizzerias-like Rosaiti's, Lou Malnati, Giordonios. Will never order it again and if you are a deep dish lover-you will be greatly my disappointed. Not even 1 inch thick. It should be called double thick thin crust!!!

I completely forgot to review this spot while I was in Chicago so better late than never. Beggars was AWESOME! We went there on a recommendation of my buddy's sister and we were not disappointed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The establishment was amazing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And throughout it all we met the owner who was born and raised in Chicago and he found out we were from New York so he came and asked us personally what did we think. New York Pizza and Chicago style pizza has always been a rivalry as long as I can remember. Even though they are both different the two styles i like very much. Of course when in Chicago you have to do a deep dish while in New York is the regular style pizza. This Chicago deep dish was an absolute favorite of mine. I told the owner it's the best deep dish I've ever had and he gifted me a Beggars t-shirt to take back home and let my friends know to come and visit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance to the restaurant was nice and chill with a bar and TV's going around it where you can enjoy a nice sports event while eating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff and obviously speaking with the owner directly was also nice to do while eating at any establishment. 5 Stars and I recommend this to anyone visiting Chicago!

Today a friend of mine went to the buffet. 12.95 for lunch includes a soft drink . I'm not a pizza snob, i do not say if one pizza is better than another, to me it's a matter of taste. My friend and i both agreed the deep dish was better than the thin crust. Not a bad deal for 13 dollars.

This place is super pick up friendly! Make sure to give them the full 45-50 minutes to bake. The staff was super friendly and had both of our pies ready to go when we walked inside. The pizza itself was AMAZING. All of the ingredients were fresh and plentiful. One pie had sausage and Italian beef while the other one had pepperoni and banana peppers. Both were great! Two medium pies was definitely enough for three people with most of one as a left over. You know it's great when you have to slurp your cheese!

    Do they serve alcohol?

They have a bar inside and the beer on tap is amazing . I'm not a big beer drinker and this beer is so crisp. I found out it's because they clean their lines weekly and let me tell you, you can tell.

Also the hours of operation aren't exactly clear yet. All that being said, the pizza was great! Red Star started out during the pandemic making Frozen pizzas out of the owner's house using fresh ingredients, small batch sauce, and hand made everything. I believe frozen pizza is still their main thing, but I got a "slice" of cheese and a "slice" of sausage fresh made. They were basically each their own while pizza and after I ordered they were cut into smaller slices and put into a to-go box. $10 for a massive slice and a can of pop, which was actually a good value when you see how big and taste how Delicious the pizza is. The crust was strong and chewy and very flavorful, sauce was hearty, cheese and sausage were great. Definitely looking forward to going back and trying more. Hoping they get a little better with signage and hours to make this a more attractive visit for others!

Probably one of the best tasting pizzas I've had in a long time, freshly made and Non-GMO to boot! And the Sausage, Wow! The pizza crust tasted good, a bit crunchier than I would normally prefer, but that is not knocking it. My youngest ate the crust and all, first time ever. She normally eats everything but the crust. Prices are competitive and I will definitely be going back.

Attempts to reach corporate through their listed executive emails bounced back as undeliverable. On June 21 around 2pm, I experienced highly unacceptable and unprofessional behavior from on-site managers, Meghan & Javier. Upon arrival, I was referred to the bar area where a member of staff took my to-go order which consisted of an appetizer and two desserts (slices of cake ) from your menu. Five minutes after placing my order, the young lady returned and said she was informed that the restaurant, despite having it on the menu presented to me, no longer offers cake slices to go, but if I dined in, I would be able to order the cake. I asked to speak with the manager. "Meghan" approached and said that, despite the false advertising on the menu, we could not order the normal size cake to go but a smaller version was available. When asked to see the menu reflecting said portion and pricing, it was not available. I then asked if there was someone else who could help. After waiting 10 minutes, manager "Javier" approached, not introducing himself, and spoke with an aura of disrespect, simply stating that it isn't necessary for the restaurant to advertise the smaller cake slice or price, and the only way we would be able to order is if we were to dine-in. When I offered for myself and my daughter to dine in at the bar with the order we originally placed to go (baked goat cheese with extra crostini, chocolate cake and carrot cake), we were told that was insufficient and that a "full tab" would be needed. In all of my dining experience, I have never been treated with such contempt, especially from management. Instead of working to resolve a standard issue or offering some sort of solution , the manager simply walked away without any resolve. This behavior is completely out of line with standard hospitality practices. I have submitted a formal report through WeEat website intake form on June 30 and am waiting for a prompt response from a regional director or HR representative to resolve this matter. I hope that in the future you will address these issues and improve the service at Goat and Vine as treating patrons on this level should not be taken lightly.

RANTING & CRAVING…read more Allow me to set down the Papa John's pizza box so I can step onto my soapbox. Whenever we order a pizza nowadays, it's usually from the Bolingbrook Papa John's. It's right across from Bolingbrook High School on Lily Cache Ln in a strip mall that's seen better days (the general sketchiness of the area is made worse by the pawn shop next door). Cheesy sticks ($10) are solid - I think it's silly to snack on what amounts to a plain 10" cheese pizza before eating the actual pizza. To me, that's like ordering mini sliders as an appetizer, and then getting a burger as your entrée. More power to you I suppose, but it's all a bit....I don't know, redundant? The cool ranch Papadia ($8) was fine but not a life-changing experience Iike the Doritos locos taco. A flatbread gets stuffed with your choice of meat, cheese, onions and tomatoes, then dusted with Doritos flavor. I wished it came as a calzone option instead of flatbread. The cup of cool ranch dipping sauce was legit, though. Those damn pepperoncini they toss in with each pizza box are getting worse and worse. Last time they gave us the tiniest pepper I've ever seen and we couldn't help but laugh ("what is this, a garnish for ants?") No juice in them, either. These shriveled things wind up in the trash most of the time, sadly. * TL;DR * My wife likes Papa John's a lot more than me (I'll go to bat for Dominos any day of the week). Their garlic cup is clutch, but man oh man I'm convinced they let the pepperoncini sunbathe on the roof for a few days. How else to explain the fact that they've gotten smaller, dryer, and sadder looking with every order? Someone check on the produce guy, see if he's still breathing. And what exactly is the difference between cheesy sticks and a plain pizza? One's cut in vertical strips, the other in triangular slices. One has dough, cheese, and tomato sauce (marinara for dipping). The other has dough, cheese, and tomato sauce. Am I missing something here?? This "cheesy stix" ruse is a Parmesanzi-scheme I want no part of! *exhales*

After our food was served, our server never came back to check on us or offer drink refills. The biggest issue, however, was the reason we chose this place in the first place. When we arrived, we specifically asked where the White Sox game would be shown and requested seating near a TV showing it. We were told the game would be on throughout the restaurant, so we decided to stay. Not long after, every TV was switched over to the Mexico-Korea World Cup match. Had we been informed ahead of time that the White Sox game would not remain on, we would have gone elsewhere. Throughout the evening, staff repeatedly told us they were trying to get at least one TV switched back to the White Sox game, but it never happened. The restaurant promotes itself as a place to watch Chicago sports, but that certainly wasn't our experience. Better communication and follow-through would have gone a long way.
