Just wanted to give a shout out to Lou Malnatis in Bolingbrook. Although we have various pizza restaurants in the village, I have to say Lou Malnatis always gets it right. This is our go to pizza spot for Deep dish, and sometimes even when we're craving thing crust too. Yes, this spot is carry out only and there's barely enough space for customers to wait inside for their orders. But I appreciate having a Lou's walking distance from my place, so please don't close! My only complaint about Lou's compared to other local pizza joints is that they could have more appetizers. If they had Breaded mushrooms, we'd probably never order Rosati's again! I like that they have a loyalty program. It's nice to get a free pizza every once in a while! We order from here about 10 times a year. The employees have always been friendly as I wait for my order. Order arrived accurately, but food quality has gone down tremendously since ordering there previously. This location is carryout and delivery only. I ordered my pizza online and picked it up on my drive back to St Louis. The pizza was hot and delicious. Everything was how I asked ie uncut and light on the sauce. Their pizza dough, mozzarella cheese, and pizza sauce do not contain any alcohol. Lou Malnati's mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, and romano cheese are all made with a vegetable rennet, not an animal rennet. If you're in the Chicagoland area, check them out. read more

My preferred destination for thin crust (or deep dish, if I'm not doing anything important the next day), I'm very happy we've got a Lou's near us. This one is on Weber Rd just north of Lily Cache Ln, in a small strip mall next to a Starbucks and a nail salon. The storefront is tiny; inside is nothing more than a pickup counter. Employees are friendly. Whether it's a large thin crust 'roni ($18.50) or a medium Chicago classic deep dish ($21), we'll almost always get a Malnati salad ($10) to go with it. The cheesy bread ($7.50) is great, too, but I only get them because my wife is a fan. I find breadsticks wholly unnecessary if we're getting pizza, since I wind up eating the crusts my spouse so dismissively tosses away ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ * TL;DR * The Lou's in Oak Park has a full dining room + bar, and that gives them a clear edge in comparison to this location. Obviously, I'd much rather have a carryout-only Lou's as opposed to no Lou's at all. Beggars can't be choosers, eh? Lou Malnati's has redeemed itself. We ordered pizza for delivery this past weekend. I used their app and the process was easy. You're able to choose your toppings and whether you want it covering the full pizza or half, doneness of the crust, and you can choose a light mozzarella as well. I chose my pizza to be delivered ASAP and the wait time given was not too long of a wait. However, there was an IT glitch in my order where it was received in the office, not the kitchen. Scott at the Bolingbrook location personally placed a call to me to let me know about the glitch. I appreciated his attention to my order and the explanation. They rushed a pizza right over and included a coupon for another XL pizza on them. Now that's good customer service. The pizza was perfection. It was delivered hot, the toppings were spread evenly, my crust was well done as requested. Even though I had to wait extra time to get my food, I appreciate it the reach out by the restaurant. We decided to order from one of our favorite restaurants in support of #YelpsBigNightIn on Saturday night! Lou Malnati's has been one of my husband's favorite restaurants being a Chicago-local for several years, and he hooked me onto the brand a few months ago upon my relocation to the area as well. We ordered delivery for two pizzas (one deep dish Lou and one thin crust Lou), which the cashier indicated would arrive within the hour. The pizza's arrived on time and felt warm to the touch. As always, we set up our oven to heat the pizzas up again, but upon opening the boxes, we were surprised to see that the deep dish pizza toppings had significantly shifted during travel/driving. The toppings were falling to one side, which ultimately drenched one side of the pizza in significant oil... this also softened the crust on that side of the pizza as well. When we went to take the pizza out of the box, the crust on the bottom was stuck to the cardboard underneath and in our efforts to carefully remove it, the crust itself broke, separating from the pizza and sticking to the cardboard. It left the middle section of the pizza without crust underneath. All of this was quite upsetting, but because of our historical experiences with great flavor, we went ahead with our night. Once we were ready to eat, and I might add famished at this point, waiting to savor the delectable flavors that we know to be Lou Malnati's Pizza, we were again thoroughly disappointed. While the sauce tasted fine, the crust underneath lacked salt and it's typical flavoring, ultimately yielding a pizza flavor that was quite sub-par. It almost also tasted as if the crust wasn't cooked properly and our once favored Lou Malnati's Pizza left a bland taste in our mouths despite our attempts to season with crushed peppers and parmesan cheese. We quelled our lack of satisfaction with the simple thought that we were supporting local businesses in these uncertain times, but were in fact, quite unsatisfied. The toppings shifting during travel and excessive oil that had accumulated on one side, drenching the crust and seeping through the pizza box was just the tip of the iceberg, but the unflavored pizza and crust were simply off-putting. I have reviewed another Lou Malnati's location positively, but also recognize that we were dining-in at the time. We have ordered take out and delivery from them in the past as well, but never had such a poor experience. The small solace to my complaint at this time is that my historical experiences have been positive, so I may be likely to give them another chance, but unfortunately probably not in the near foreseeable future. read more

Admittedly, this location has not always been great in the past, however very impressed after this experience. This was my last meal before exiting the charming greater Chicago area! I rate Lou Malnati's in Bolingbrook, IL a 4.5 but, will give a 4.0. Solid, tasty pizza! The thin, butter crust was a little bit more than I thought it would be compared to another Chicago deep dish eatery but, it works. Pepperonis were on the top (and that's fine) and not blended in like the other establishment I had tried that week. Absolutely scrumptious cheese and spinach--also layered. All was tasty but, I was not completely wowwed that I'd give a perfect rating. My family had picked up the deep dish pizza and brought it back home so I didn't get a chance to view the eatery itself. One of our colleagues from Downers Grove had family visiting and got a few boxes for all us mid west migrants. I love Lou Malnati's as to me this is THEE deep dish Chicago Pizza chain (in my opinion)!!!!! For me it is that buttery and crispy crust which makes it for me. Generally Lou's provides great service. At this Lou's, the service was great with serving that pizza with a smile. This location is not a eat in but you can get it delivered or take it to go. Since I travel, I typically get my pizza uncut and para cook, so it be crispy when I get home. My favorite pizza to get a fresh is "The Lou" as this is my favorite vegetarian pizza EVER!!! Which I typically will go for a meat pizza. If I do a meat pizza, I get a frozen sausages pizza. Great when you are bring a pizza back. A random note is that the Ranch is one of the best I ever had. Even though I live closer to the downtown Naperville location, I always order Lou's carry out from this location. It's just quicker, easier and you can find a parking place. Their online ordering is great-you can easily customize pizzas, salads, etc. and the food is packaged well for the trip home. Lou's in general is known for their deep dish pizza, but I've gotta say their thin crust pizza is under-rated! As crispy as you want with good toppings and always served hot. Of course there's the famous Malnati's salad, which you can order with every ingredient on the side or altogether. After hearing for about a year how great Lou's is? In Chicago for the first time I had to try it. My daughters boyfriend is from Chicago, and she has visited this area twice now. So her boyfriend has taken her here a couple of times and she loves the place. since all I have heard from my daughter how great it is. I had to come by and try it. I order the Chicago deep dish special, it was very good! I loved the crust, cheese, and the fresh tomatoes. Sauce is good, but had better. The pizza was great, I can not complain. Let me start of by saying this. This pizza is so terrible that Little Ceasars tastes a whole lot more better than this! My pickup was supposed to be ready at 4:30pm, and employee didn't come out until 4:33pm to ask us our order number. I placed a decent sized order on Saturday March 26, 2022 at the Lou Malnati's location on Weber Rd. In Bolingbrook. I spent close to $140.00 including tip. The driver, Amber, was the driver. I watched as she was taking my order out of the trunk of her car. She seemed to be struggling with it or stalling because it was apparent that something was wrong with my order, the Penne pasta with cheese on it had spilled out of its container and was laying on its side in the bag, so there was sauce all in inside the bag, which spilled all over the other container that it was sitting on that was also in the bag. I ordered 3 deep dish pizzas, small, medium and large with the large, I assumed was at the bottom of the pile, so that box was crushed, which crushed the crust of the pizza, these pizzas are heavy. The cheese and sauce were all to one side on all 3 pizzas, which means she took a turn at high speed or they were sitting on an unleveled surface in her car. I delivered pizzas for Giordano's in high school and later became a manager, so I know by placing a hot pizza on an unleveled surface will make the top layer of the pizza slide to one side, I had made that mistake as a rookie driver and conveyed that issue to all my drivers when I was a manager. So I called the restaurant, which Amber had mentioned to do, which I would have done anyway, I do give Amber kudos for owning up to the mistake. I spoke to Jasmine, who I believe was the manager. I explained the condition of my order and she had a new Penne pasta order sent free of charge, of course, and credited me for the Large Deep Dish pizza, which was well over $30.00, sausage + 4 other ingredients. That wasn't the end of it, so the replacement pasta arrives and the driver, a different female driver this time, had some questions for me, before handing me the pasta. She asked me if the entire order was being replaced and I said no, just the pasta and that I was getting credit for the Large pizza. Then she says, so this is free, referring to the pasta, then hands it to me. I should not have been questioned like that by a driver. I felt she was questioning me like she did not believe me. She was a driver, not a manager. All this should have been communicated to her by Jasmine, the manager. I should not have to explain myself. I will not be ordering here again after I have redeemed my credit. I don't know if this a franchise or a company owned store, but I will be reaching out to the company regarding my dissatisfaction. To all you pizza drivers out there, do not place your hot pizzas in the trunk, unless they are completely secure, and do not place on an unleveled surface. If your passenger or back seat is angled, place a towel or some kind of wedge under the pizza to level it out. read more

Put in an order online through door dash. When it arrived it was super hot and looked delicious. Pulled out two pieces and noticed pepperoni on the bottom. At first didn't think nothing of it but took a closer look and noticed it was all over the pizza. Neither me or my girlfriend eat pepperoni so this killed us lol but we called up there explained the situation. The manager was nice and said he'll send a new pizza with the correct toppings. The delivery person must of brought it carelessly and the picture will show that but he was also rude, got a call and he said he dropped it at the front desk, a little upset he didn't bring it to the room but no big deal until we got down to the lobby and the person working at the desk told us he just threw the pizza down and went to walk out.
