Located in a little shopping area this little eatery was packed on a Saturday at 1. Granted there are only about 8 tables in there and then a little comfy armchairs situation but I was happy for them. They definitely had some tables lingering long after they ate but it wasn't more than 5 minutes before me and my buddy were able to be seated. Both me and my buddy had one of their cute Halloween themed drinks. Mine was basically mocha with mini marshmallows in it. Loved it and was able to sub with almond milk. They enjoyed theirs as well I think it was a variation on either pumpkin spice or chai. I was super adventurous and had the shrimp and grits. It was actually delicious although on appearance I thought was going to be too liquidy. It had a little kick to it. The meal came with a biscuit that I didn't end up eating but took a bite out of and is pretty standard Pillsbury grands biscuit. They enjoyed their meal as well and ended up getting full and having leftovers to take home which is always a win. Because beignet is in the name we also ordered those to try. I tried the plain and appreciated the powder ratio. Dough was good, not Loretta's Pralines good, but better than what I make at home. She was more a fan of the stuffed one she had. If they have success I hope they open one in Baker or maybe near Southern. Something North Baton Rouge where they could likely afford more space. read more

So I had a Maha tea or coffee I think don't know lol it's was good doe I gave the young manI think it was a 6.5 for the drink my green coffee drink with almond milk then I got the grits and a shrimp. Awww the biscuits was good and soft It was 10 out of 10 then I got the French toast with the fried egg and a sausage patty 10 out of 10 homemade tasted like it so if I was you, I would get over there and I promise u won't be disappointing but I did find one hiccup and that's the name of the shop is Beignet Baton Rouge and they didn't have no beignets which sucks but on my back home I'm past back over there and try and get some cause they was waiting for the dough, to rise but I give them 5 five stars read more

Dunno why Yelp claims this place is permanently closed. It isn't! I just went there for the first time yesterday after returning from a trip. The food was delicious and the service was top notch and relaxing. The ambiance of the restaurant feels like exactly what it is: a locally owned no-frills spot. They don't just serve beignets! I tried on 2 separate occasions before I wrote my review. First of all the owner and staff were very friendly. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. There is a nice amount of seating and everything was nice and clean inside. On my 1st visit I tried the praline and sweet potato beignets. The praline was good but I wished it was stuffed inside instead of drizzled on top. I didn't care for the second one which I thought was sweet potato but realized after my second visit that it was strawberry cheesecake. No wonder I said I didnt taste any sweet potato lol! That being said, my second visit I ordered a strawberry lemonade and strawberry cheesecake beignet. The lemonade was delicious but I don't care for the cheesecake beignet. The beignet itself was good! Kinda thick like I like it. I just don't care for the taste of the cheesecake! I will go back to try the sweet potato beignets. Hopefully the 3rd time is the charm. They also do lunch and breakfast items. I will return to try more items. ************************************** Unfortunately the 3rd time was NOT the charm. I end up going back and decided on the praline and sweet potato. The sweet potato is definitely a no for me. It wasn't sweet at all. Nice shop. It's located in a great area. I went there on a Thursday afternoon. The service was good and I didn't have a long wait. They have a variety of beignets you can choose from different flavors and you also can get three different beignets. I chose the strawberry cheesecake praline, and cinnamon roll. My order was to go, but immediately when I got into my car, I tried the beignets and they were lukewarm. The praline beignet was not thick but runny which kind of ran through my plate. The flavor was good, but the beignet was hollow in the inside. Overall they were good just needed a tad more batter and should be cooked to order. Very disappointing. I wanted to support a locally owned breakfast place. A month ago, I stopped for takeout and was disappointed in the very ordinary ham sandwich I ordered. I wanted to give Baton Rouge Beignet another chance today. It was difficult to hear the person taking our order at the counter. It is loud and echoey, and music is playing in this area. I thought I had asked for cheese grits, but our receipt listed only "grits." After placing our order, we found a table. However, I was disturbed by the gnats flying around. My coffee was brought to the table first; it was hot and tasted pretty good. It took a few more minutes for my husband's hot chocolate to arrive. We started sipping our drinks while we waited... and waited. It was at least 20 minutes before our food was delivered. Even someone from the back noticed that we hadn't received our order yet. She went to investigate and soon brought our meals to the table. The smothered potatoes were burnt, and I couldn't find any onions or bell peppers as described by the counter staff. My "over-easy" eggs were actually overcooked and barely seasoned. The grits were lukewarm and not creamy. I couldn't finish more than half of my breakfast because it wasn't worth the calories. My husband's biscuit was supposed to contain over-well eggs, but his yolks were very runny. The bacon was a low quality bacon and poorly cooked. The meal was expensive for what we received, and I didn't see anyone checking on the guests besides delivering orders, so customer service was minimal. This was the last stop on the way out of Baton Rouge for my family and I and will be the FIRST stop when we come back in. The beignets were delicious and why we came, but the shrimp and grits stole the show. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and it was an excellent spot to enjoy a family breakfast. We had to order our food from the table online. The pancakes were sour and inedible. The biscuit in the shrimp and grits was sour. Shrimp and grits were actually good tho. We ordered Beignets and didn't even get them. Also didn't get a side that came with the pancakes. And the fridge was broken so our bottles drinks were hot, so they gave us a cup of ice. We were looking for a great food and found this place close to our hotel. The staff were super friendly. The food was amazing and would highly recommend. We tried their bacon and egg beignet sliders as well as the beignet fingers with white chocolate. To finish things off, we had the stuffed beignets and OMG it was to die for! read more

I ordered a bacon egg & cheese biscuit and it was delicious!! The coffee was amazing too, loved their blueberry iced latte so much that got it 2 days in a row. It's a shame they had to close this location, it was so convenient. Will give the coursey location a try soon! read more
