The oil spill noodles were just ok. The broccoli in it was served ice cold ,previously par boiled. The spice shredded chicken noodles were , not too mince words, disgusting. Not edible. Chicken was obviously very old, it was dry and tasted terrible. Almost like a refrigerator taste on the chicken ...like it was stored uncovered. The beef tendon soup was so tasteless. Delicious!! Stopped by here for dinner while visiting friends up in Fort Collins, and this place is a gem! The noodles are so good, and you definitely get a ton of bang for your buck in terms of how much food you get! We actually weren't able to completely finish the food and some of us had to take home boxes. The spicy in the noodles is actually spicy, and the garlic flavor along with the chili is to die for. Highly recommend the Sichuan noodles, Oil Spill noodles, and the potstickers! The wonton soup w/ noodle was very good, but could've used a bit more salt/flavoring. People were very nice and service was great, and the shop itself is a tiny, but cozy little corner in a small complex. Will definitely be back for more next time I am in FoCo. read more

Great noodles here, the specialty of northern China. You can't find this level of flavor and authenticity in other Fort Collins restaurants (except for Chopstickers)! There's a good presentation of dishes here, but many are foods that can have different regional takes. For example, the sliced pork belly is saucier and spicier than what I'm used to. I felt compelled to write. I brought five friends for a family style dinner on Tuesday evening the 5th of June. We had great expectations for the restaurant due to the Michelin Star. I'm a sophisticated diner who can be happy. I'm not a crank. I have a lot of experience. In other words, I know what I'm writing about. I'm a reasonable person. To begin on a bright note: the menu was fascinating and a welcome departure from what any Chinese restaurants in Fort Collins serve. I've traveled quite a lot in China. I was hoping for something traditional, with bright flavors, interesting textures, and excellent presentation. What I found was a huge disappointment, huge disappointment, huge disappointment.This was far beneath any restaurant Ior working class hawker I've been to in any major city or village throughout China. This restaurant advertised traditional food. Texture, color, and flavor were similar to what I might find in a grade school cafeteria. No, much worse. The experience in the restaurant made me angry. If I thought I could get my money back I would demand it. We had a big guy bring food to the table. He was far below any waiter or chef's assistant I've met. It took he and another boy quite a long time to recognize we were there. We were the only table in the restaurant at the time. It was a half hour before closing. That's plenty of time for a restaurant to care about quality and service. They didn't. They only came to the table once they finished a jovial conversation between them. Service was awful. We felt ignored. We were the only table in the restaurant. It was 730pm. We could find table service only if we caught the server's attention, and that took effort. The food was SLOP! I'm an adventurous eater. I'm well traveled, and fairly sophisticated. I'm a former professor if international business. I have a research center in Shenyang. I have a good comparison set of restaurants and authentic food. This place doesn't deserve the star. It barely deserves a reputation at all. I would place it well below the quality I would find at Waffle House. I felt sorry for the man who worked his whole life to build this. He didn't deserve to be embarrassed by his staff and food, but there it was... An embarrassment brought on by inattentive help, and very poor quality food. We were served cold broccoli. I like cold broccoIi. In this case the context was wrong.. the cook seemed to have taken the pre-blanched veg directly out of the icebox and served it without finishing the cooking process. The owner worked hard and long for a good reputation, but it only too a few seconds to ruin it with me. I was embarrassed to be hosting the dinner here. I hope he recovers and puts some motivation in his staff to serve food, not street slop beneath even the lowest working class shop in a Shanghai slum. I should be identifiable from the restaurant's credit card receipts. I would like my money back and pray the owner to do just that. read more

Really skimped on their delivery order. They gave us way too small a container of sauce for our large dumpling order. There were practically no vegetables with our dishes. It's just a little weird. This is one of those places that is so good, I kind of wanted to not review it and keep it a secret... But I will say that the house made noodles were to die for. I ordered the oil spill noodles with pork and a tea egg on the side. The noodle bowl was perfect in terms of what I'd expect from a noodle shop. Huge portion, extra tasty, Sichuan spices make you want to keep eating. The tea egg was an interesting flavor as well, and I will order it again. Hidden place! Owners are a couple, and they make every noodle from scratch. If you are celiac there aren't as many options, or it's harder to communicate. Call ahead and order the glass noodles, made with Mung or Monk Beans, to be polite, and they make these GF noodles from scratch. I had the Chicken Noodle Soup w Monk Bean noodles, and I asked for hot chili oil on the side. Voila!! It worked. Good meal! read more

I asked for one of the lunch specials and was delighted by the delicious dish of chicken, pork, and a beautiful plate of rice. The seasoning was delightfully savory and the (pickled?) veggies on top was a nice contrast of flavors. The dining room and restaurant was quiet and kept very tidy which felt welcoming. I can't wait to come back to try the noodle dishes; I appreciated reading about and seeing the folks in the back making noodles, filling dumplings. We had a horrible experience at this restaurant. It took so long for someone to come take our order that we should have walked out (I wish we had). Our server was unfriendly and uncaring. The hot and sour soup was so salty and odd tasting that we couldn't eat it. When I told our server this, he just stared at me, echoed my statement about it being too salty, and walked away, leaving the full soup bowl on the table. When I later asked for the bill, I saw that I had been charged for the soup. Both of us got stomach aches shortly after the meal. Altogether an absolutely awful experience. read more

Came here for a late lunch. Didn't know what to expect but heard the place had good food. Ordered the tea egg and a wonton noodle soup. The egg was decent. May have needed a bit more time in the tea marinade. The wonton noodle soup was good. The highlight of the meal was actually the chili crisp oil. That was the most amazing chili crisp I've ever tasted. It was garlicky but not burnt. It was fragrant and smoky. It was savory and added a lot of flavor to what would've been a rather bland bowl of noodle soup. Would like to try some of their other noodle dishes next time I'm in town again. read more

I've been wanting to try this place since it was voted a 2024 USA Today top restaurant, so we finally got there this evening. We tried the Wuhan Noodles (sesame peanut sauce) and the Henan Gravy Noodles (sweet soy sauce). Both were surprisingly fairly bland. They both looked lovely, but they lacked depth of flavor. Authentic. Delicious. Affordable. These are the things I have to say about Beijing noodle. I ordered Oil spilled noodles with pork and the moment I bit into the noodles my brain checked "authentic". The pork was garlicky and bursting with umami Chinese flavors. Fort Collins was missing something like this for a long time. I'm glad authentic Chinese (Beijing and Szechuan influenced) noodles are finally here. China's foods are finally being represented the right way! With this restaurant being so close to CSU I'm sure a lot of the foreign Chinese students come here for their lunch (they have daily lunch specials of Chinese home cooked meals- dishes such as mayo tofu/ braised pork belly/ Kung Pao chicken/ scrambled eggs and tomatoes/ chicken with potato peppers and onions.) served with rice and your daily veggies all for $8! They even have my favorite chili cucumber salad, which you must try if you enjoy spice. The inside decor is very nice, mixing some Chinese vibes and British accents such as a lamp to complement the aesthetic. Will be back to try out other food items. read more

10/10 would recommend! I'm very picky when it comes to Asian cuisine, and this place knocked it out of the park! I ordered the oil spill noodles and they were phenomenal! THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST CHICKEN I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! I felt like my soul was fed. I felt like someone's grandmother made it. The sauce is AMAZING, and I recommend getting rice on the side to soak it up! This food was something you take your time with, eat with your hands a little bit, and truly savor. The owner is so sweet and hospitable, even if you're just ordering takeout. Granted, this is not food court chinese so you may have to be a little adventurous. Very, very disappointing! I was expecting authentic Chinese recipes and I received supremely subpar preparations. I've had better food from Panda Express and that's really saying something. Beef Gravy Noodles was flavorless and skimping on beef and gravy. Smashed Cucumber Salad was uninspired. And the Green Scallion Pancakes were actually one small pancake cut into 4 pieces. My meal was definitely not worth the high price. I live right behind the restaurant; I doubt I'll ever want to go back... Feel inspired. Prepare authentic dishes.
