    Another 1-star review for this incompetent mess of a company. They deserve negative stars for all the damage, heartache, and stress they caused for our move from PA to Colorado...while showing ZERO concern and being completely indifferent. 1. We booked with them and signed the contract 5-6 weeks in advance of our move date. Then at 6:30 pmthe NIGHT BEFORE our move, they called and said "oops, we forgot to enter your move into our system - we can't move you for another 3-4 week, MAYBE, IF we can find a driver. WTF??? We were leaving in the morning for a cross-country move with a dog and two cats. All of this was despite my multiple emails & voicemails in the intervening weeks asking to confirm the move date. 2. Their "solution" was to send a local crew with a local box truck to pick up all our stuff, and then store it in their warehouse for 3-4 weeks until a cross-country truck could be scheduled. So, we arrived in Denver with only our clothes and some camping chairs & tables to live with for a month in our new house. Their crew were like guys they'd picked up that morning off the street - zero knowledge of how to move big items, zero care for our things (bumping & banging them). The driver/boss man didn't even know their names - I heard him ask them more than once what their names were. 3. When our things arrived, multiple pieces of vintage wooden furniture and multiple boxes of expensive clothes were ruined and mildewed by extensive water damage. The cross-country driver (who worked for corporate Bekins) admitted to us he saw them offloading our stuff out of that local box truck when he showed up. Our stuff had been stored in a non-climate controlled box truck in July/August in SE PA for 18 DAYS! He said their box truck was leaky and there were puddles of water inside of it. We had to file an insurance claim for Bekins to repair and refinish ALL of our wood furniture, a bill of over $20K! Thank god we had gotten the insurance or we would've been screwed. 4. They destroyed over $8000 of vintage clothes, which Bekins corporate refused to reimburse. Instead they said they'd pay the tariff rate of $0.60/pound, or about $800, or 1/10th of the value. I had to Google research to get the email of a Bekins VP, send him an email out of the blue, and escalate before they'd agree to pay half, or $4000. That process took about 6 months! A total waste of time and a ripoff. TL;DR Bekins Transfer & Storage is a HORRIBLE company. They bungled our move in every conceivable way (and some inconceivable ways!). They have ZERO customer service skills, and ZERO concern about customers or their property. They only want your money. STAY AWAY!

    BRAND NEW bed frame damaged due to not being wrapped and tossed around the truck

    Don't use this company!! If I could rate this company a complete ZERO I would as they are horrible!!! No communication whatsoever and are very rude to talk to. Our move with them did not go smoothly at all throughout the any part of process. We had an out of state move scheduled to go from PA to SC and set the date on the pickup. They changed the date without telling us, and then argued about it when we advised them we were leaving the state the evening after our pickup was to be completed and they needed to pickup. The crew who did our pickup was not professional at all, and upon further review they lied on the paperwork that our items had damage or stains on them when all of our furniture was literally BRAND NEW and purchased for our new home! It took them 10 days to deliver to our new home, with no communication at all, and once the truck arrived we were horrified by what we found....ALL of our furniture was damaged and our SEALED (zip-tied & taped closed) storage totes/bins were broken into and ransacked while in Bekins possession. None of our furniture was wrapped when it showed up for delivery. There were cut zip-ties all over the truck and over our bins clearly indicating someone went through them looking for things to steal....and they did. When the Pottstown office was made aware of the situation, they didn't care at all or even apologize. Nicole was extremely ignorant on the phone, pushed the blame on us, and now won't return our calls when we want answers as to what happened. They are basically washing their hands of the situation and think that it is ok to charge people for a move, and then cause thousands of dollars in damage and go through peoples personal belongings. We are still in the process of trying to sort through they mess they left us and have taken pictures of everything. But so far multiple electronics, documents with personal info, birth certificates, pictures, video games, tax records, etc. are all missing. Our signed contract was with Bekins, yet they outsourced the move to a 3rd party (Mover Dudes) without telling us and it was all jammed into a smaller truck then how it was picked up, and now they won't take responsibility for damages or even apologize. They falsified paperwork after we signed it so they could claim our stuff was damaged, dented, stained, torn, etc to cover themselves and gaslight us. They are frauds and don't care about people or their belongings! We are now seeking legal council to sue this company for damages since they won't return any phone calls. Thanks for nothing Bekins! Stay away from this company!!!!!!!!!

    Movers were extremely careless. Broke three of my dining room chairs and their insurance is a joke. Pick someone else.

    We were in a weird situation where we had to be out of our old house a week before we could move…read moreinto the new one. Stephen was excellent and responsive in helping me figure out what would work best for us. He was honest and up front and I at no point felt like he was trying to push me or sell me more than I needed. The day of our move out the driver Michael called and said he would be a little early. He showed up and immediately started helping my husband carry everything. His knowledge of how to pack the truck was extremely helpful. He was so good at it we ended up only needed one truck instead of two! This saved me a nice chunk of change! ZippyShell then took our stuff to storage for a week in their facility. The day of our move in, the driver was once again early and so pleasant. All of our stuff arrived in perfect condition. No mold. No smell. No critters. He helped us unload. He was friendly and careful not to hit any walls or drop anything. I would highly recommend using them.

When I called to ask about this they told me there was a problem with their system and refunded me. This to me sounds like fraud especially since another reviewer claimed the same thing happened to them. My move was disastrous. One mover was smoking weed, not packing furniture right, leaving pieces left and right. The movers lost all the hardware for my bed frame and I was left with a pile of useless junk. They dented the walls, ceilings, scratched the hardwood floors, and ruined everything single piece of furniture. They also sat around for an extra 2.5 hours after the move was over so that they could charge for overtime. The movers told me that I could just file a claim for the damages and I would get reimbursed. After their 90 day wait period for claims turn around, I was denied of everything. Their quote is also a complete lie. There were multiple fees that were left out of the initial quote, making their final charge 3x more than what I was quoted. Do yourself a favor and go with another company. Edit: The company owner's pitiful response to this post is their way of pretending they care about customer service. Multiple emails and phone calls have been made since with no response from this company. They DO NOT care about their customers experience, only want your money. STAY AWAY. It has been 5 months since my move and issues still never resolved, they've disappeared and ignored me since getting their money.

    They sure aren't smooth at scheduling. I reached out to them with full pick-up drop-off locations…read moreand full inventory list on May 13. They quoted me the next day. I then asked how to move forward - no answer for three days. On the third day I asked again if someone could please reach out and tell me the next steps and the reply, the next day was that they wanted to know my destination and inventory (ummmm you were given that originally). I again gave the destination pickup/drop off and full inventory list. That was three days ago, no response. Honestly, how can you be a reputable company when you don't respond to client requests? If the job was something they didn't/couldn't do, the least they could do is tell you instead of ignoring you. If this is how they respond in the beginning then how are they going to be with managing your move? Danger, danger Will Robinson.

Nate sent me numbers and said everything had to be packed up and ready to go for his team. I asked if they could do one thing - wrap my furniture in blankets - and he answered "no, it's our policy not to wrap the furniture with pads prior to putting them in the truck, as it makes it very difficult to carry the items. I apologize that we won't be able to meet your specific needs and we will not be able to move you." I emailed him back, said I'd be OK with that (even though it wasn't ideal for me), and I haven't heard back. This was 4 days ago. Being a business owner myself, this is not how you treat a repeat customer. Based on this poor experience I would not recommend Smooth Moving Pros.
