We moved to Natomas area 5 months ago and hubby and I are just starting to shop again since Covid. We have been using Instacart but I kind of miss picking out my own stuff. So we have shopped at Safeway and Raleys in Natomas and both stores are fine but super crowded and packed. Parking lots are nuts. Makes it kind of stressful. So today we found this Bel Air on Arena Blvd. Super close to home. This will be our go to store from now on. Clean, wide aisles and not crowded. We did go at 1030am so it might be a different story in the afternoons but we do our shopping early usually anyway. Everything was stocked well and looked fresh. Long time Raleys customer here. From Sacramento to Chico to Red Bluff we prefer the Raleys/Bel Air experience. Hopefully it will continue here in Natomas. read more

Awesome customer service provided by Brianna yesterday (11/14/2015). She greeted us even before we went inside the store. She noticed that I was holding my infant baby and pulled me a cart right away. After checking out, as I was putting groceries away with one hand hand (baby in the other hand) Brianna came and assisted (we didn't ask for help) and even whisked away the cart. Grocery stores are many, but what sets one apart from the other is exceptional Customer Service experience. My review is more focused on my lunch experience this week. The store in general is always clean and great customer service. My friends tend to say that some store items here are expensive compared to other stores, but in my experience with Bel Air is you get what you pay for. I find high quality items and clean simple isles that make it easy to find what you need. Now in regards to lunch, the Chinese food always has some good looking ready to be served hot food items. I got the vegetables melody as my main item versus rice or noodles which is a good option to have if you are tryin got add more vegetables to your diet. I also got the jalapeño pork and mushroom chicken as my other two sides. They gave me a huge portion which is good for me because I'm really hungry for lunch today. The jalapeño pork was my favorite because it had the right amount of heat from the peppers. The whole meal was hot, fresh, and affordable which is really good. They also have sauce packets , chopsticks, forks and napkins. I purchased a drink to go with the meal and i checked out real quick and enjoyed my meal on the outside tables they have out front. It's was a simple good meal that didn't cost much which is perfect for my budget. I will try to add Bel Air to my lunch options on a regular basis. read more

I went shopping here after work on Thursday. I was not impressed with my cashier. My cashier was there but not fully present & alert. The bagger asked me if I wanted bags. I told him that I have my own bags in the cart. Usually the cashier would give the bags to the bagger. So I have this bagger standing there not doing anything because the cashier isn't handing him the bags. Meanwhile the cashier is going to town scanning the groceries. After I punched in my rewards number at the terminal; I look up and still no bagging even though the cashier is more than half way scanning. So I walk back to the cart and get my bags to give to the bagger. Good grief! The bags were in the cart right next to the groceries! Why didn't the bagger ask the cashier for the bags? Better yet, why didn't the cashier grab the bags to give to the cashier? Who knows?!? Am I suppose to hand my bags to the bagger?!?! Is that what they want us to do know?!?! Oblivious to the exchange, the cashier than asks me if I want to buy bags. What the heck?! How clueless. The bagger quickly replies to him that there are enough bags. At least, he (the bagger) was a self aware enough to know that at this point I'm not pleased with the service. This is my favorite local grocery store. I rushed here to get some gas that was located outside of the Bel Air Supermarkets. It's their own. Today was pretty pricey when you use your debt/credit card. Other than that I think it's cool that it is convenient that it is there. I rushed inside to get cough drops, box of tissues, kisses chocolates and jolly ranchers. Why? Runny nose, cough? I needed it to prepare a long day of work. I'm just glad this store was around to get what I needed. The place looked very clean like most Bel Air Supermarkets. I love the glossy floors and the fresh produce. I asked a worker where their chocolate candies are, and she was kind enough to tell me where it is. I find it fun going into the SELF CHECK OUT stations. It wasnt too crowded on a Sunday morning. read more

I love the overall layout of the supermarket. The aisles are wide and the lighting is bright enough to see the produce and products clearly. The cashiers are friendly and efficient and the courtesy clerks are always cheerful. I love the team that works there. Even while shopping, the clerks in each department are friendly and helpful. I recently discovered the meat/seafood counter where a cheerful, friendly and helpful clerk (Federico or Fernando - sorry it was a while ago) helped me choose a steak for grilling. At my request, he cut the steak in half since it was so thick and offered to season it for me. I didn't realize they did that so I took him up on his offer. My husband loved the Ultimate Steak seasoning that was used. I went back to the counter to buy italian pork sausage. I got the perfect amount needed for the recipe. It was so easy! I plan to visit the meat/seafood counter more often. They have a nice selection of fruits and vegetables. I love using their jalapenos and serrano peppers for my pico de gallo recipe because they always have them on hand. They have everything you may need, including kitchen gadgets like mini preps! Apart from being walking distance from this place, it really is a nice quality grocery store. I'm a total grocery geek, in which I would go walk around grocery stores just for funsies... The thing I love most about Belair is that it has a great selection of healthy foods, a nice [but expensive ]: wine selection, and a small bulk foods section. The cheeses they sell are super great too. All in all, a bit on the pricier side, but it's a nice experience. The workers are very friendly, and things are always neat and in stock! I was going to give this place a low rating for high prices, and having a small variety of produce, but yesterday I came for the Thursday wine tasting and it was awesome. For $3 you can sample 2 vineyards wines, which is about 4 different bottles, and they give you finger food to go with it. Brownies, cheese, crackers, grapes... They even give away some prizes. Short on cash? Drink your dinner at Bel-Air on Thursdays. For an additional $2 you can sample beer too. read more

I stopped going here not long after Covd when a former employee told me about the company pushing out older employees to get younger newer one, because it was cheaper. I decided yesterday to go there because it is closer and near were I live. Not only were the prices really high on items. They didn't have much produce to choose from. the bok choy leaves were brown, cantaloupe was on sale but all were either really small or really soft, old. I bought milk that day and came home to find out it already expired. and it was Lactose free milk which has a month or longer expire usually. I used to see expired items on the shelf all the time. Makes me wonder if there still is. The first cashier I went to was talking to another worker and barely ringing and the products, some young guy. So I noticed another checker who was nice and quick. I would save your money and go elsewhere, if its not for selling expired food. They probably put back food that been sitting out, who know. People who work here don't seem to care. read more

Belair Natomas is celebrating their 10th Anniversary! I attended the 10 year Anniversary and Wine tasting event on Thursday, April 14, 2016. There were many food samples. crafts for kids, great special prices on numerous items, a huge birthday cake, the Flavor Face Mobile Food and Catering with many delicious entrees for $5.00+, complimentary bites and cheesecake and live music by Island Sunset Band! Prior to the event I stopped by the floral department for a birthday gift and received spectacular service from Evangelina, florist extrodinaire, who transformed my orchid plant selection into a dazzling presentation. All the staff in all departments at this store display caring, friendly and helpful service. Kudos especially to Ron Martinez, the wine steward who continues to provide an impressive vintage selection in the liquor department along with fantastic wine tastings every Thursday. read more

It's clean, it has almost all the grocery items I need (including pharmacy, fish, deli, and bakery), and it's in a convenient location. What more could you ask for? The employees are nice and I've never encountered a problematic shopper here. There are usually solicitors outside, but Bel Air doesn't own the parking lot or the space outside the doors, so that's not on them. There is also plenty of parking with shade, and you can use your points at the adjacent gas station. read more

Sevice is very good. They have very efficient auto-check out machines. It is extremely clean. But way overpriced. There was one rice dish that sold for $4.50 that costs $2.30 at Berkeley Bowl. The coolest part is that they sell dry ice here for 0.99/lb. For parties, dry ice is the coolest thing to have. Nice, clean, and good service, but overpriced. read more

Love the layout of this store!! It makes sense and items are not hard to find when you are in a rush :) The wine selection is extensive and has great deals. Redbox is conveninetly located next to an exit so that you don't have to search for it. I also like the fact that they have garbage stations at every cart return place. I always have garbage in my car and now I don't have to wait till I get home to throw things away. This place is like Safeway but better! They have a gas station and you do not have to be a Bel Air member to use it. Actually, there's no membership at all! Finally found an adequate supermarket in my area that I can run to. i came here with my friend few nights ago & to make a long story short, the cashier guy who I think is named Williams was harassing us saying inappropriate sexual things about what I was wearing and how I look and even after we told him to stop he continued. The way he looked at us was creepy and I felt like he was going to do something because he seemed mad we were neglecting him. Having not only shopped at this particular Bel Air I have used their meeting rooms, The market is very clean, the aisles are organized, the food is fresh, the poultry is well presented, ect. This place needs to SERIOUSLY beef up security. Their location is beautiful and super convenient. The staff is also super friendly. From the pharmacy to the deli smiles all around. Their prices could be better but meh it's bel air so you can't really expect huge deals. I'd be inclined to give them at least 4 stars if they did a better job keeping the nut jobs, drunks and hobos away from their store. Just last weekend and a visibly drunk woman with a Starbucks cup full of booze would NOT stop harassing my friend and I in the beer aisle. The lady was sloshed and staggering around the store. I actually did not find Bel Air expensive compared to Safeway or Sprouts. They have similar prices and a lot of good offers. I like that they have a big selection, the store is clean and the items are well organized on the shelves. They had a lot of good deals, like buy tow for 50% of the price. I actually got the best deal ever for Men's nut mix for $3.99 that normally costs $6.99 at Safeway. Some items are very expensive but I chose to buy those. This will be one of my new places for grocery shopping besides Safeway. Good job to the team working there. read more

Inside, you'll find: -coffee shop -sandwich shop -chinese hot bar -hot prepared food bar -olive bar -snickers bar -pharmacy -more cheese than a hallmark greeting card -a bank -a counter where you can ship packages, buy ridiculously cheap money orders and if you're old school - buy stamps! -two redbox kiosks About the only thing you wont find at this Bel Air is the Fresh Prince. Of course it is also one of the cleanest and brightest grocery stores I've ever been to in Sacramento and the staff is always courteous and personable. Every now and then you get the canned questions from a kid bagging the groceries "so you got any big plans for today?" Come on man its 11:30 at night, and you're bagging a pint of ice cream and a box of cones... do the math :) Their organic section is well stocked, and they have fresh made sushi daily that is surprisingly good for a grocery store. The best thing about this place is their sales are for everyone. You dont have to sign up for those ridiculous 'valued customer cards' that exist solely to track your spending habits and cater marketing to them. I was in Bel Air yesterday ... noticed they do not sanitize carts. Here's a message I saw on our Nextdoor Neighbor: "Bel Air store on arena Blvd. Just thought people should know that the Bel Air on arena has had employee test positive for covid 19 and several others are waiting on test results. Some of these employees worked up to 3 days with symptoms and the store hasn't done a cleaning or disinfecting at all. With so many people going to a grocery store, I thought people should be aware." My weekly go-to since it's just down the street. It's a no frills grocery store, but so far they've stocked everything I've needed since moving to the area. Haven't had any problems finding things, and the staff has always been helpful. They also always have a nice assortment of bouquets for when I'm trying to bring home a surprise. read more

This Bel Air is very nice, always clean and well stocked. The staff are courteous and always in a good mood. As far as grocery stores go this is probably the nicest one in Natomas. Can get pretty crowded during the day, the parking lot is large. I recommend going early or late to avoid the crowds. Always has a Sacramento Police Officer in the parking lot providing security. read more

I signed up for an account with Bel Air, figuring I'd be able to take advantage of their promotions (mainly a discount on gas for their gas station with purchase at the market). I spent $250 on groceries and got a sizable discount on $/gal for gas. I had some issues with my credit card at the pump and was told to see cashier. This apparently raised some concerns with Bank of America, who declined my card and called me about suspicious activity. I used my debit card instead, telling the cashier to put $50 for gas but I only used $28. Several days later, I noticed I was charged $50, so instead of taking advantage of the promotion I was actually charged more! I called Bank of America, who didn't help me. I went to Bel Air, spoke with Nick V (the manager), who was fantastic! Even though I didn't have my receipt, he credited me $22 to the store. I didn't want to make a big fuss over $22, or spend an hour going through records to make sure I actually made the purchase, but I wanted to be treated fairly. It was a matter of minutes, quick and painless. I will stick with Bel Air, but would caution you to keep your receipt at the gas station just in case! read more

We went to the front of the store - because that is typically were ice is kept (other places) and could not find it. What has happened to my Belair?...The following seems to happen more and more with my visits....and now I know it is not just a coincidence. Dashed in this afternoon(Saturday) to grab a chicken for dinner, and there was a line for self check-out, 4 people waiting...and 2 check stands open with 5 or 6 people in each line waiting. So I waited my turn, and when I got up to pay,I said to# 664875, "Where are all the checkers?" and her reply was, "This is what you see",and she laughed. I said "Not funny,you have lines of people and 2 checkers,these people pay good money for good service" and as I looked back at the line behind me,they all heard me and were nodding their agreement. So I paid,was never asked if i would like help out.(They never ask anymore)even when its raining. Of course the little checker girl fell silent and wanted me to be on my way, and as I passed the managers office,there was what I suspect the weekend manager,a little blond gal that has been an employee for some time,3 guys and all of them having a nice time joking and laughing. All had badges on as I stuck my head in the door and said..Excuse me, I think it would nice for you all to look out the door here and see the lines backing up... The store seems to run on its own,employees socializing as they check you out,often times(like today)she never gave me a verbal total. I had to look at the receipt to see what i spent. No one asks to help you out,even though I would say NO for a small bag. THE POINT IS...Mr Raley's mission statement that hangs in all the stores means nothing....These kids working must not be getting orientated properly, and again I have to say I hear them talking while they check people out bad mouthing their job and I have cautioned a few against it. I have read some reviews here that people say they are treated like they are not even standing there..I feel the same. My husband says I can easily solve the problem..go to Safeway!!! I love this Bel air. It's always clean, stocked and the staff in very nice. I wish the parking lot was a little safer because I always get nervous leaving my car there's since there's been so many break ins over the years. Seeing broken glass all over the parking lot is unsettling. However, I do love that all Raleys and Bel airs have added the "free fruit for kids" baskets. It's always my daughters favorite to go in and pick out her own fruit and eat it while we shop. read more

To begin, this location is always nice and clean. There is never anything out of place or empty shelves. This is a huge plus as it's located right by my house. The assistant team lead Madison was very helpful in showing me where to find over the counter medicine, and even recommended me which cold medicine I should get. I always choose this store over the nearby Safeway or Raleys, and have been choosing it since I can remember. Only negative is all the tree sap and bird poop from the trees in the parking lot, otherwise would be a perfect 5 star. read more

Used the deli to order sandwiches for our graduation party. The deli was due to close in 5 minutes but the gentleman helping me continued to take my order 30 minutes past closing... and was crazy nice and helpful! After some folks had to cancel, we called the day before our order and make some changes - they were CRAZY helpful again! Finally, on the day we picked up the order, we needed several changes to the charges and they were great again - patient and looked to make sure we weren't overcharged. PLUS, the food was GREAT - fresh, yummy, and the perfect amount. We saved a ton of money and all the staff made it really easy. Total neighborhood feel with great customer service. I wanted to give a bad review for the meat department long ago but never did cause I come here all the time cause the meat manger has a bad attitude and rude!!! But today at the Chinese food deli the way the lady talks to me not cool!! No matter how any one of them has said or did I've never said anything and just been cool!!! Today I asked lady for one item like 6:59 at night she then yells what else you want I said it's a one item then she yells as I am with my oh thought u wanted more then one and closed the lid !!! I didn't say anything but I seen she barely put any food in it I don't appreciate being yelled at and getting horrible attitude when I'm with my 5 and 6 year old!!! People have bad days but here specialty area takes out on there customers! Also seafood and meat department puts it away starting at 7 pm and you can't get any!!! I got shorted today but hey hope she has a better day!!! Like I said barely any food but it seemed if I mentioned it she would be more upset!!! I will keep going to this store cause it's around the corner!!! But I think no more hot food it's not the first time here!!! read more

I have shopped here for I think about 7 years; since they opened. I average stopping here 3 to 4 times per week, and spending about $500-$600 bucks every two weeks (big family to feed). At first I loved them, and was so happy they came to my neighborhood. However, they have finally really made me mad. Bel Air has started charging per item for a lot of the produce, instead of by the pound. That is correct, check it out. Want Bel pepper, $1.99 or more, EACH! Portabello Shrooms, $1.99, EACH! I am very disillusioned by this latest blatant attempt to raise prices significantly with the hope the consumer will not pay attention. Im no longer a customer Bel Air. Produce quality is still marginal. Most of the stuff you need to use right away, as within a day or two it rots. Suggests its not fresh. I have spoke to the manager in the past about this, and been assured they would work on it. After a year, they havent fixed it. I find rotten stuff on the shelves all the time. Also, despite Raley's professed support of local sourced produce, most of the stuff in the store is from Mexico or elsewhere. Certainly NOT local. And, lastly, for some unknown reason, every time you get used to where items are, they rearrange the whole store! Very frustrating. It makes you run all over the store to find items you need. I was told by the staff that this directive comes from corporate. Is this an attempt to make you walk around and look at stuff, and perhaps buy things you didn't come for? Cant think of any other reason for it. I am very tired of the increases in prices, poor produce quality, lack of locally sourced produce, and blatant attempts to keep you in the store longer to spend more money than you intended. It seems they have lost the balance between making a profit and keeping customers happy. Staff at the store are very nice, and that is the only redeeming quality. I am now planning ahead meals more and driving to West Sac to go to Nugget. The quality of their products blows Raleys/Bel Air out of the water. So sad. If you have read any of my reviews you know I'm a cheapo. And I shop at Food Co or FoodMax or dare I say Wal-Mart and Winco. And no "but" here. Bel-Aire is expensive. It is not cheap. BUT the quality, the cleanliness, well stocked, friendly employees, sure make it a place to go to. That said my fiance and I came here for lunch. I love the sandwiches and she likes getting the healthy Amy's burritos. Only place where we can go that I can eat bad food and she can still eat healthy. But on this trip the Chinese food counter caught my eye. Everything looked really good. At $7.49 for 1 item plus rice or chow mein, it almost made me walk away. I was not hankering for a sandwich. So I rolled the dice and ordered Peking Pork, Orange Chicken and fried rice. I knew my fiance would look at me and shake her head in disappointment. She bought two Amy's burritos for $5. I added a Bubble Up and a cinnamon roll. My plate also came with a fortune cookie and I hope the numbers win! Peking Pork was very delicious and the Orange chicken was truly tender and delightful. The rice was good but better with Soy sauce. My Bubble Up had 27 grams of sugar which made it AWESOME!! The only I was disappointed in was the cinnamon roll. A far cry from any donut shop I've been to. But again a grocery store trying to be a donut shop, I should have known better. But we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Her burrito, according to her, was fantastic. Had Quinoa, organic beans, chard and broccoli. You couldn't pay me to eat that but she loves and which is why she is skinny and I'm fat. 2017 may mean I need to listen to her more. But only about food. LOL! This is a great place. My family has shopped here for years simply because it is the closest. The employees have always been nice, but a lot of the food products are old and over priced. Many items on shelves are past the expiration date. A lot of my complaints have to do with raley/Belair products themselves. I once bought some raley brand shredded cheese that contained maggots. Things like a box of pancake mix are packaged cheaply in a cardboard box with no plastic liner. Strawberries that mold over completely in one day. Chocolate bars that are chalky white and old. Also, for a store trying to cater to more gourmet tastes, they do not offer much. I went in one weekend looking for fresh salsa and they did not have any. I'm tired of paying top dollar for sub par food. They have somewhat of a monopoly here. We deserve better value for our money. read more
