    Blackened chicken quesadilla
    Alexis N.

Hands down our favorite place to come and watch football on Sunday. The $20 champagne bucket is a go-to and they always have decent drink & beer specials. Chicken Wings are usually very good and I recommend ordering them extra crispy. Cuban Egg Rolls, Turkey and Gouda Sandwich, and Chicken Nachos are among a few of the regular go-tos for us. They also have a good chips & salsa and queso option. Just about everything we have ordered has been good. It has been a bit inconsistent lately and the food has been coming out extra greasy, but I'm hoping that's just an easy fix!

This place was AMAZING! My husband and I are "yelpers" - we make many of our restaurant selections based off what yelp images show us. I saw your wings and I HAD to try them. They did not disappoint. Upon arrival, we noticed queso & chips on the menu...my husband is a queso connoisseur...he named this the best in the area. The flavor was impeccable but more importantly, as it starts to cool down, it remains it consistency. Many other places harden up and thicken - this was perfectly smooth and creamy EVERY dip! Hats off to the kitchen. Also, $5 Tito's! Woohoo! The bar is quaint but has a lot of TVs and a good vibe. We arrived promptly at 11am and many regulars trickled in. It's definitely a hidden gem.

Stay away!! Even the beef was off here. We ordered the Monday burger specials and our waitress suggested the wagyu burger, which I didn't think would be part of the $5.65 deal, so I said heck yes! I also asked for cheese and bacon and a side of truffle fries...no judgment please My husband basically had the same, but with tots. What came from that kitchen was NOT WAGYU!! When I saw the burger I asked about the cheese and bacon as it was not i closed and our waitress explained that it was INSIDE the patty!! What...I didn't ask for that and I that's GROSS the fries were also not truffle, but pick your battles! I cut the burger in half and I always do and the meat looked WEIRD, not just because it appeared to have a disease with the bits of cheese and bacon inside, but it was oddly sinewy! I took a bite and knew immediately i would not be finishing it no matter how hungry I was. I had 2-3 bites and that was it. The fries were meh, but my husbands tots were decent. There are too many great places around to waste your tastebuds, time and $$ here.

This bar seems like a nice neighborhood/local bar. We sat outside, which was probably a bad idea, it was sweltering hot, with no fans in sight. We had the the mango habanero wings and the fish tacos. Food was good, pretty standard, nothing to rave about, but the service really was outstanding.

We came here on a Sunday for brunch to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. Knowing that our group can be a little "extra", we phoned in ahead of time to give them a heads up to prepare. By the time that we arrived, they had a table already prepared for us. The room was smaller than I expected, but overall, we were comfortable. Bel-Mar Bar and Grill offers a weekend brunch menu, as well as a daily lunch menu. What really piqued my interest was the $12 bottomless Mimosas, Bloody Mary and Sangria special. Like a true champion, our waitress kept the Mimosas full by the pitcher and was very quick and accommodating during our entire visit. We came hungry and it didn't take long to bury the lone cook in the kitchen. I ordered a burger with bacon and a fried egg. Hands down, this burger was worth the extended wait. It was HUGE and fresh. Definitely I'll be back for that alone. We ordered some Cuban egg rolls, but not enough, they were gone right after they were brought to the table. We also ordered some nachos, then even received an extra order as a courtesy because of the delays in the kitchen. We also shared a large plate of garlic parmesan chicken wings. I typically tend to sway towards baked or grilled wings in lieu of the fried variety, but to my delight, these were delicious as well. My girlfriend ordered the chicken and waffles. They were good, but probably a little too sweet for her. The chicken was decidedly spicy, but not too overpowering. My daughter ordered the cheese quesadillas with ground beef topping. I'm pretty sure that she was licking the plate just after taking her last bite. Overall, I was very impressed by the food coming out of the kitchen. Everything was consistent and no shortcuts seemed to have been taken. The serving sizes were generous and by the end, we had a fantastic meal. After all of the food was on the table, the cook came out to apologize for the food delays. We all have him kudos instead. Keep up the great work! I work in the south Tampa area frequently. I think I'm going to keep this one on my radar the next time I'm in the area for lunch. Pro Tip: Check in on Yelp for 25% off your entire order.

    Meatball sandwich with fries.

I don't know if they were recently bought or just changed their name but the bar is now called Bel Mar Saloon. There was a pretty decent crowd for a Wednesday night. We tried the Cuban egg rolls and the meatball sandwich with fries. Two of us split the food. It was more than enough. The egg rolls came with a side of mustard and mayo mixture. They were delicious and I definitely could have ate more. It came with 2 egg rolls cut in half. The meatballs were ginormous. The sandwich was flavorful and not too messy. I did not have to eat it with a fork and knife. The French fries are like carnival fries. Crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. We sat outside. The music outside was a little too loud but it was a good mix of different types of music. Our server was attentive and nice. I checked in on the yelp app and was able to redeem 25% off my order. My bill was originally $26 for 3 vodka and sodas, and 1/2 the food. I will go back!

So this is no longer Bel Mar Bar and Grille but Bel Mar Saloon so they don't wont take the Yelp 25% off deal anymore. They did for me though. The food is excellent for a saloon! Had a great BLT and Chicken sandwich with great fries and side salad. Plenty of TVS to watch sports. One note to the owner. Although you invested in a handicap ramp and toilets you need a table that is not stool height to meet ADA! Just one would be an easier add then a lawsuit! My spouse won't come back until you get one or maybe two.

I thought this restaurant was really good. I really enjoyed my salad and the service was great. They seemed to have a good beer selection. I'm a very eco-friendly person, so the huge negative was that they used plastic cups and straws. It's 2019, we know how harmful plastic is to the environment, use glass, it's way better and makes the place seem more upscale. I'd love to come back, but probably won't because of this. Stop using plastic cups and we'll definitely be back.

My office is just a couple blocks away and this is our go-to spot for lunch and happy hour. The food is so, so good. Great quality and always fresh - not your typical bar food that's all fried! They have happy hour specials most of the day and there's always a chill vibe. Highly recommend!

    Lynn G.

Enjoyed our time at the Bel Mar bar and grill. While I don't drink I enjoyed the outdoor seating and the friendly environment. Our waitress was sweet and took care of our large group. The food here is great! The wings are my absolute favorite! That said, the southwest egg rolls are a close second! Parking car be a bit tricky on a late Friday afternoon. Overall great vibe, staff and food!

Great service. Friendly staff. Moderate prices. $6 wells... Food isn't great. But really, it is the crowd I can't stand. Today this douche decided to block in us and 4 other cars so he could park RIGHT ON TOP of the bar instead of parking in the vacant lot 300 feet away. So freaking rude. Had to do like a 26 point turn to leave. And he did this with his company parking decal on display. Also the girl he was with could have afforded the extra 100 yard walk. I can't stand the people who come here.

Fries at end of life... and they served them... what the!?!?

Place is under new management... thought I would retry after I stopped going to it before. Tried first time at 2-3pm.... gave up and left due to server chatting with customers forever... and well I came for lunch and to eat. This week tried again, late lunch, burger and fries. Burger was good... fries were fried beyond understanding why they even brought from the kitchen... when served, server said they just look that way and let him know he if they are over cooked. I was done eating my burger before the server ever returned... skipped the fries. My last visit unless I just want to drink.

Boneless wings. Looked like gizzards, but were good.

We were sat at a high top table and it took almost 20 minutes before our waiter came to the table. Another hostess actually came by with waters and apologized for the wait before our waiter came to take our order. My partner and I ordered the table side guac, 3 street tacos, and a steak enchilada. We also ordered a Pacifico beer and my partner got a passion fruit iced margarita (slushee). When the waiter brought the drinks it was a completely different margarita. My partner ordered the drink with tajin and the other margarita came out with salt. That was the first giveaway that this was about to be a bad experience. The table side guac was disappointing. I'd had it 4 years prior and was excited but it just didn't live up to how I remember it. He gave us the option for mild medium and spicy - we chose medium but it had no spice in it at all. We had to ask for more salt because it wasn't salty enough. The avocados were not ripe, and he didn't use any lime juice. And finally, towards the end of the meal I was chewing and part of the avocado peel was still in the guac. Quite an unpleasant surprise. The steak enchilada was okay. The steak was a little tough and I think the cheese on the enchilada was melted mozzarella - it was similar to pizza...as an enchilada... My partner thought the street tacos were okay but for the price point of $25, probably not worth the cost. All entrees come with beans and white rice - I needed to add salt to mine, but it was fine. The table seated behind us was very close to us and we could hear their entire conversation. The guy specifically said "I never eat the side of rice and beans here because it's not very good". The service was okay. Our waiter was very low energy and rather muted for an early Friday night. It's possible he had a long shift or a long day, so I'm willing to cut him some slack, but in the service industry, I think I'd appreciate a positive attitude. This dude clearly did not want to be on the clock. Finally, the restaurant didn't notify OpenTable that I arrived for my reservation so now I have to explain to OpenTable that I did actually attend and I wasn't a "no-show" for the reservation. Bit of a waste of my time. I came because I heard Westshore is closing and was hoping for a fun date night with my partner. I'm glad to know I'll never be going back and I probably shouldn't have tipped 20%.
