As a parent, I appreciate that both girls get scheduled at the same time and appointments are always on time. We have never had to sit and wait. I scheduled an appointment with this pediatric dentistry, but they never sent any confirmation or reminder. As a result, we missed the appointment -- and then were charged a no-show fee. When I called to explain and asked for a discussion, the staff refused to engage, offered no understanding, and hung up the phone. This kind of customer service is completely unacceptable, especially for a pediatric clinic where communication and care should come first. We had a horrible experience with the front desk and billing manager during our last visit and we've decided to discontinue to use their service now. Due to unfortunate work changes, our kiddo didn't have insurance coverage and we did a regular check there. At the end, they billed us multiple hundred dollars for a 10-minute check, and reacted very indifferently saying that it's our fault not knowing how much it will cost beforehand. They show no empathy at all and kept blaming us when I suggested they shall inform patients beforehand. read more

The dentist is overbooked and don't care about patient. I made an appointment 6 months ago. The day before the appointment, they called me and told me my daughter would been seen by the assistant because Dr Chen was booked. I also made the appointment but I don't know why dentist can be overbooked and just inform patient one day before the appointment. It is very ridiculous! read more

Our 3 year old developed quite a fear of the dentist so we had to find another practice. We were referred to Dr Chen by my own dentist, and my daughter was immediately comfortable with him and loved his child-friendly office with all the fun decorations. She had a lot of cavities that needed to be filled (and we don't give her juice or treats, arghh!) and on recommendation from two dentists, it was recommended that we do this under general anesthesia. We had this done at Dr Chen's office and though it was a nervewracking experience for us, it was fairly easy for her. The office is responsive to email which is great, gives out cute toothbrushes which my daughter loves, and accepted both of the insurance plans we've had. We've already got an appointment with Dr Chen for our younger daughter to start her dentist visits there! read more

Dr. Chen is very popular with children. The children of many friends around me come to see him regularly. Dr. Chen is very enthusiastic and will make the children feel relaxed. He is also very nice. They will communicate with their parents how to protect their teeth and develop good dental care habits. Due to the large number of guests, sometimes waiting for a long time, the longest waiting for more than half an hour to see the doctor. The children are most expecting to have a token to the tossing machine to pick a small gift after seeing the doctor. read more

Bel-Red Pediatric Dentistry has a nice play area in the waiting room (complete with video games!) and the decor is a kid-friendly green apple color. The exam room is very large and has huge floor to ceiling windows so the kids could look out at the trees or they could watch movies on flat screens while they were getting their exams. Dr. Chen was extremely patient with the kids, I was really impressed by his friendly demeanor. He took the time to go over each child's exam so I understood what procedures he performed and he also explained any future work that would need to be done. At the end of the office visit, the kids got a prize from the vending machine, along with a goodie-bag with toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss. The Dental Hygienist, Washma, was great with all four kids and Jennifer, the Office Manager, was friendly on the phone and very helpful in person! She even went out of her way to make sure we would get a postcard reminder for their 6 month check-up. I highly recommend Dr. Chen and his staff if you are considering a Pediatric Dentist. read more

This place is absolutely amazing for children. Every single staff member is so good with kids, and they have each step of the process down like a well-oiled machine. Our toddler had a fall and her front tooth was starting to turn gray, so we knew we needed to take her in. She had never been to the dentist before, so we were a little nervous about her first experience, but there was no need with this wonderful dentist. First of all, they got us in within a day and a half, which I was so grateful for. The office itself is very inviting; there are crayons and paper for drawing, and a corner with toys, though it was occupied when we arrived. The exam rooms have TVs, though we didn't need it on, and a big stuffed dragon and giant toothbrush, so the kids can pretend to brush. The hygienists whisked our little girl into the x-ray room while we watched, and asked her to bite on the thing while they took the x-ray. They were quick and so smart to have two of them - one to push the x-ray button while the other sat with the child. My husband and I were amazed that our daughter sat and listened so well to two new people. Dr. Chen is extremely thorough in his explanations to worried parents, as well as warm and inviting to children. Our very wary little one waved to him and even said thank you when he gave her a toy at the end of the exam. The doctor put our fears to rest and gave us a good education about what to be on the lookout for, and when to call. Then, when it is time to walk out, you get a token for the kids to put in a machine, and they can choose a prize (this machine also takes quarters, if one prize doesn't quite do the trick). We were in and out in 30 minutes, and just a great experience all around. read more

Looking for a new kids dentist is always quite a task. I decided to take both of my kids to Bel-Red Pediatric Dentistry and my experience from beginning to end was awesome. I called and was able to get an appointment 2 days later for both kids which was great. The staff at Bel-Red Pediatric dentistry were all very professional and very attentive. The office is very kid friendly and very nicely decorated which even gave me some decorating ideas for my kids rooms. My kids were comfortable and happy to be among such kind people. Dr. Chen made my kids feel good with positive reinforcement and he did a great job of explaining everything to me. I took my two boys, ages 4 and 8, to see Dr. Chen this morning and it was a fantastic visit. We had to switch pediatric dentists because of insurance changes and my kiddos were nervous about seeing a new dentist. His staff was organized, professional and super nice. The office is bright and kid friendly. My kids loved watching movies and playing Wii and I loved how much attention and education they received from Dr. Chen and his assistant.
