They have some great movers on the team. They brought rugs to lay down to not ruin the carpet/hardwood floors. Edwin and Sal were our movers and got a local move done in about 4 hours. They're our first choice when ever we move again. We've also interacted with Craig and Alex. Craig is a little difficult to chat with but he knows his stuff and tells you how it is. I'm not sure what happened with Belfor Moving company, who packed and delivered my friend's household less than a mile away. My friend requested that one of the men not to pack some items was packed, not communicated to the other crew members. We unpacked to find broken lamps and smashed lamp shades, only one lamp of a pair, boxes incorrectly labeled found in wrong areas, or thrown into the garage. These are some of the trouble experienced with the business of pack and move. Now, the owner refuses to discuss or look at the damage and lost items. Isolation or smaller labor pool, maybe. My suggestion is to look all your choices and get clear on policies, etc. read more

If you read all the negative reviews, the issue is with Craig Belfor. I would caution using Belfor Moving which is unfortunate because some of his workers are hard working but the owner, Craig Belfor is an unethical business owner. I've used his company twice and had issues with the first move but decided to give them another try and I'm paying for it. Save yourself the headache and go with a reputable moving company in Sonoma County. There are many out there. Update: Craig Belfor tried to use my $437 credit to pay for the reassembly cost that his son promised was part of the reassembly services. When I told him I wanted the credit refunded and reassembly was included as part of the cost , he quickly pivoted his story when I said I would take this up with the corporate office. He then hand wrote $6.96 on the final invoice after the move was completed, and claimed it was an easy $6.96 that I declined and I needed to file a claim. He's running a very shady operation. National Van Lines called me immediately when they found out and apologized for Craig Belfor's unethical business practice. No claim was ever needed. National Van lines immediately sent someone out to reassemble the grandfather clock at no cost and credited back the excess funds. They told me I would never have to work with Craig Belfor again. Again, if you are looking for a reputable, truth worthy mover in Sonoma County, look elsewhere. Craig likes to respond to every negative review and attack the customer and twist the story. Driver was great, National Van Lines is great, just use a different agent that works with National Van Lines. read more

I like that it's a family business - they take a lot of pride in what they do and take the time to help you figure out what services you need. I spoke directly with the owner, Craig, from start to finish - found him to be a knowledgable, fair and honest guy. They have 30 years + experience and made me feel comfortable with them handling family heirlooms like my grandma's piano. I highly recommend Belfor moving. After reviewing mover's on Yelp, I had three moving companies come to my house to quote the job. All three came in around 20% of each other, but for me Alex Belfor was the most attentive to our questions and extremely professional. During our home transaction, we needed to add storage for a week and Craig Belfor was very accommodating. He reviewed our quote and within that day received an updated quote reflecting storage. A three man crew showed up at 8am on the day of the move, laid out runners (protecting our flooring), logged all items into their ledger, wrapped our belongings protecting them from the rain and moved it into their truck. I scheduled my move from Rohnert Park to Petaluma a month before the move date. Alex sent me all the paperwork and we did a video tour of my apartment so the estimate could be accurate. I paid a large deposit on my credit card. The contract was signed. I thought everything was in order. A few days before the move, I contacted Alex and asked what time the movers would be there. He said between 8 and 8:30 am. The day of the move, I waited and waited. Finally I called Alex at 9 and asked for the eta. He did not call me back, but his father did. He said there was a mistake and my move was not on his google calendar! I nearly had a heart attack! Yelling ensued. Lawsuits were mentioned. Mr. Belfor said he would contact his employees, who had been given the day off, and ask if they would be willing to come in and move me. 30 minutes later, he called back and said they would be there later that morning and do the move. The guys showed up at 11, they were very nice and they worked until 7 pm moving me in. It wasn't their fault that management was so incompetent. When I told Mr. Belfor that I would be giving him a very bad review, he said go ahead that he gets all the time and he doesn't care. So, here it is. My advice to anyone looking for a moving company, DO NOT, DO NOT, use Belfor Moving. read more

I used Belfor Moving in September 2020. They were very efficient and friendly with scheduling and explaining the process. I purchased packing materials from them and they delivered the materials early enough to allow me a few weeks to pack. The load and unload to the new home was all done in 4.5 hours. The total charge came in under the quoted amount because the men were so fast and efficient. They also deducted the cost of the boxes I did not use. I highly recommend this company. read more

In June, I hired Belfor for a local move (Novato to Novato). The guys who moved me were fabulous; they get five stars. They wrapped every single piece of furniture! The person I dealt with on the phone gets 1 star. During three or four phone calls, he always seemed stressed, frazzled, unable to multitask, and annoyed to be dealing with another phone call. Although getting the quote was easy, arranging for the online call (to see what I had to move via Internet) was difficult. First a Sunday was set (but no time), then no one called on Sunday. When I called on Monday to ask about the virtual walkthrough, seemed like he forgot all about it. This was important because I had a nonbinding estimate. To make it binding, they had to come in person or do this virtual walkthrough. When moving day came, I had no idea what time the movers were coming. So I called that morning and again the man who answered the phone sounded angry that I called. I would use this company again only if someone else is put in charge of phone calls. read more
