Solid sweets and eats from that red truck with a big ol' waffle dangling on its side! Yeah I couldn't resist Belgian Waffology. I ran into them at Brewgaloo and did a drive by but yes, oh yes Belgian waffle, you will be mine... I roamed around a bit before searching out their truck. They've got three or four basic waffles with variants on toppings and flavorings. I go with a liege waffle with chocolate. It takes about 15 minutes, the truck is popular. I get a small paper container with a nicely browned waffle tucked in it. The outside is crisp and has some chew to it. Some nice quality chocolate melted inside and you've got a nice snack in your hand. At $6 it's not cheap but the overall quality is good. So thanks Waffology for your Belgian treats...

1/27/19: Tried them for the first time today at the Durham food truck rodeo. We tried their classic flavor. It was pretty good. We should have gotten a different flavor. I'm sure it would have been delicious. They have some savory choices do you to try as well as other sweet ones. If you are into waffles, definitely give them a try.

After discovering the original waffle in Liege, I was excited to try this truck at Durham's Food Truck Rodeo before they changed their name from Waffology to Waffle Crafters. I love the pure, plain taste of the classic waffle so that is what I always get. They are warm, sweet and just how they taste in Belgium. I like how they decorate with the Belgian flag and serve everything with a smile. Recently they came to our office and friend got the waffle with strawberries and whipped cream. If sweet waffles aren't your thing, they also offer some savory options with goat cheese and other toppings. I see this as a dessert option and am glad they are in the area! I believe they also have or had a stand at Southpoint in Durham we well. They are active on social media and you can find their truck on their site or instagram. Merci!

Pancakes seem w-awful in comparison. (Ok, I still love pancakes too.) But honestly, I have enjoyed every single waffle I've purchased from this food truck, savory or sweet. The Bouc (goat cheese, apple, thyme, and honey) is one of my favorites because of its varied flavor profile. Often, several of the waffles sold here are just one note of pure sweetness. Still delicious, but it's nice to shake things up a bit. The workers are very friendly, and service is quick. I also love the cute Belgian flags on every waffle; very unique! The only reason to dock a star is that the price is a bit high for the amount of food, and again that the toppings could be more varied, with less emphasis on the sweet. But don't let that stop you from trying a waffle from this food truck.

Such amazing authentic Belgian waffles. Both owners are Belgian. The waffles taste delicious. They are a little pricey but definitely worth it. I recommend the Bouc with goat cheese, walnuts and honey. Perfect combination of sweet and savoury. They are filling waffles too. Will go back. The owners are extremely friendly too.

Coworker and I were extremely excited to try this food truck after viewing the menu. I ordered the Pom'Caramel waffle for breakfast and it was quite tasty but the price was a bit steep. These are liege waffles so they are a chewier and thicker. Each waffle is topped with a small Belgium flag. Not sure if I would recommend this particular waffle but I would recommend that you try the truck.

Whipped cream and powdered sugar liege waffle with cocoa cinnamon latte. Mmmmm

Belgian Waffology is the real deal! The food truck can often be found at cocoa cinnamon in Durham and Johnny's gone fishing in Carrboro. I have been hankering for a authentic liege waffle since my visit to Belgian last year and Francois has delivered deliciously authentic waffle. He is from Belgium and serves the variety sweet and savory waffles with a smile accompanied by a neat little Belgian flag toothpick in the waffle. I cannot recommend this food truck enough and hope he will expand to a restaurant so he can make the Brussels waffle too! Discovered this food truck at the Durham Food Truck Rodeo. First thing that caught my eye, the sugary menu options. Then, I saw the incredibly long line. Still, it was definitely worth waiting for! I had the Fraises o chocolat, which consists of strawberries, homemade whipped cream, and hot Belgian chocolate fudge, over a Belgian waffle for $7. This is one of the more popular menu items, according to the worker behind the window. The waffle is nice and crispy on the outside, fluffy and light on the inside. When you take a bite, it's like you've just gone to Heaven! So good. The chocolate melts in your mouth, the strawberries are juicy, the whipped cream is not overwhelming - it's perfect! If only the size wasn't so small.....

Cinnawaffle: speculoos spread, whipped cream, cinnamon. And pink sprinkles for breast cancer awareness month!

Very good authentic liege waffles! Don't expect a huge soft fluffy waffle here. These are small, chewy, and have crystallized sugar on the outside. DELICIOUS. you can add toppings which all cost extra, except for powdered sugar.. i think they'll give you that for free. I usually add whipped cream, strawberries and nutella. This waffle truck comes to our office once a month and it's awesome, so i've tried my fair share of different topping combinations, but i've learned to stick with the whipped cream and fruit. I got the one with bacon before, and it came sprinkled with bacon chopped up..and it tasted more like bacon bits..Also, they put too much bacon on it (yes, there's such a thing as too much bacon!) so it was overpowering and i had to push as much of the bits to the side. So i wouldn't recommend adding that. Also, the waffles are a little pricey, but you're paying for quality i suppose. Other than that, no complaints here!

Reminds me of the delicious waffles I had in Finland. The Sweet Strawberry is great but the Choco-Waffle with Strawberries is out of this world. Both are similar but this was more of a chocolate lover's dream and the Sweet Strawberry was more of a pastry lover's dream. The partner loved the Sweet Strawberry but love loved the Banana Split. Super nice people, as a bonus! They can be found at Coco Cinnamon at 420 Geer on weekend mornings.

BWC was serving at an event at my son's school and I luckily got a chance to taste a couple of their amazing Belgian Waffle creations. I ordered the Banana Split and my wife got the Sweet Strawberry. Both were delightfully fluffy and decadent. The staff was friendly and helpful with questions. All the parents seemed to enjoy their waffles too as their were smiles all around. If you get a chance to try this Food Truck, dont miss it!

Utterly delicious. I've had the pleasure of enjoying Belgian Waffle Crafters' tasty creations on two occasions at Cocoa Cinnamon in Durham. Both times were amazing. My favorite is still the one with chocolate, whipped cream, and pretzels. Sweet and salty. I usually can skip the whipped cream but not here... it's totally worth it. Follow them to figure out where they'll be next so you can get you some fluffy waffles in your life. Leslie Knope approved.

Guilty Pleasure (minus the hot fudge)

My son had the cinna-waffle and loved it. He topped it with a scoop of ice cream and they even put a little flag on top.

Parking can be anxiety-inducing. I grabbed a spot just as someone pulled out of it. Many times have I driven past Eggs Up due to the line of waiting potentials. I don't wait for anything if I can help it. It was still packed on a Friday morning, but I nabbed a counter seat. Hash Benedict and fancy donuts. Well, well, look at me eating fancy donuts over here! La-di-da, Your Majesty. The donuts were light - softly crunchy, if that makes any sense. I learned quickly that using my hands was a messy mistake. Fancy donut eaters like me can't be licking their fingers in a restaurant. Use a knife and fork. Man oh man. The eggs were so fluffy. The hash was absolutely delicious. And the hash browns were fine. Nothing to crab about. Any cons here? Well yes, it took 25 minutes to get my order delivered. To their credit, they said they'd messed up my eggs and did them over. However, it was obvious my browns were the originals because while the eggs came out hot, the potatoes were lukewarm, if that. Yes, I could've said something but that would've made my wait even longer. I know they're super popular and waiting is a thing there. But, like I said, I hate waiting for things. Anyway, the workers all seemed like beautiful people. It was quite clean in there, and passing the time with the kind regular sitting next to me was a pleasure. I'm in no hurry to return. I was there using a Christmas gift card. It's a fine place with good food. It's just too popular for my taste. Don't let that keep you away. 4.3.

Okay this is my new favorite crepe place. Plus it's a locally owned restaurant! The crepes are incredible and make quickly. Perfect texture and flavor. The ingredients are cooked appropriately and the crepes are large. Plus they are presented well and are gluten-free. I chose the Le Champignon crepe with English breakfast tea my first visit and the same crepe with Earl Grey Tea my second visit. It's so good I haven't been able to choose a different crepe haha. Even the tea was presented well and steeped perfectly. So many places are serving hot tea in disposable cups even when dining in. It was such a joy and relief to enjoy the tea in a nice cup and saucer with the pot close by. The cafe is empty around 8 am and picks up around 8:30 am. They play low jazz or pop music and have ample tables that seat 2 or 4 customers. The wi-fi information is posted near the condiments, water dispenser, and trash. It took about 10 minutes for an employee to realize I was there. She was friendly and efficient. I believe she is the only one working (during both visits) so some indication that customers are ready to order would be useful to save time. She interacts well with customers and takes orders and makes the food. Overall, I had a great visit and recommend this cafe to others!
