We had not planned on going out for breakfast but things happen so we decided on a place that has decent choices for kids. Little Mister enjoys his smiley pancake and was looking forward to it at Eggs Up Grill. What he really wanted were those candy eyeballs. He put in his order and waited patiently. Out came his pancake with the little bowl of blueberries and little bowl of strawberries. No candy eyeballs. The plate looked like it had strawberry juice on it even though the strawberries come in a separate bowl so littles can add their own. We also noticed a piece of pancake in the blueberry bowl. I tried a blueberry and it was warm, not cold like I was expecting. No biggie, maybe someone made a mistake and accidentally added them but scooped them off when they realized it. We encouraged him to go ahead and start crafting his pancake face while we waited for the eyeball delivery. Finally we told him he needed to eat without the eyeballs because we needed to get somewhere. He wasn't having it. No eyeballs, no eating of the pancake. When we asked our server about it, she quickly made it right and actually brought 3 eyeballs! He started eating his pancake and said he tasted banana, of which he is not a fan. We didn't know what to make of that but then realized that there was another menu item that included bananas so maybe someone made the banana thing, realized the mistake and tried to fix it. Anyway, Little Mister could taste the banana and now I was really having reservations about that pancake. He also had scrambled eggs and sausage which he enjoyed. We've been here several times and the food is usually very good and service is great. This recent visit was different but hopefully our next visit will be banana-free with timely eyeballs. read more

My first time at an eggs up grill and I was very impressed. I went on a weekday at about 9:15 so no wait at all. I was seated promptly and given a menu. A very kind young lady came quickly and took my drink order. When she came back she asked if I had any questions! It was a hard decision but I went for an omelette with bacon and cheese and spinach. It came with a choice of potatoes or grits and a biscuit. Wow! It came out quickly and was hot. The grits were perfect, the biscuits was good and hot and the omelette was huge! The bacon in the omelette was in small pieces which was different but it made the omelette easier to eat and I got bacon in every bite! The tables were cleaned off as soon as people left, so no dirty tables at all. Bright, clean, a wide variety of food and delicious!!!! I will be back! read more

Eggs Up is still one of my favorite breakfast places and we always hit it at least once when we visit here. This time was no exception. I had perfectly poached eggs, bacon and delicious sourdough toast. I love how you can sub fruit for potatoes and it's great, not just a little bowl of melon and grapes. We had a great breakfast/brunch this morning. We arrived and had to wait about ten minutes which wasn't bad and expected anyways. My Dad had a birhbday coupon and enjoyed his red white and blue waffle with a side of sausage. They came out with a candle and sang to him. I missed it as I was in the ladies room. Totally bummed but oh well. I ordered the 1/2 sandwich of a BLT and the raspberry salad. Great deal for $10. Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well. This place is total disappointment! 45 min to get all frozen and reheated foods. It took more than 40 min to get two eggs. They declare that " we will make you smile" making breakfast but there was nothing made from a scratch. Frozen deep fried doughs were called donuts. First time here, found it a while ago and booked marked it. Decided to try it today since we were in the area. It's a pretty nice set up and ambiance is cool, it's more of a modern looking diner. It's clean and family oriented, pretty unpretentious. Our waitress was sweet and helpful, had no complaints. Food wise, if you're expecting the quality of First Watch, this isn't it. The prices are very reasonable however the quality isn't quite there. This is above a Denny's or IHOP however if you're desiring a healthy take on breakfast this may not fill your need. Had the shrimp and grits bowl which was very filling, we also had the waffles with eggs and bacon. The quality could improve along with getting real Maple Syrup on the tables... First time at Eggs Up Grill in Holly Springs was great. We went on a Friday morning. This location is nice and bright. A little larger in size than our normal location and there was no wait. Our waitress was very attentive a pleasant. Our food came quickly and was just as we ordered it. There omelets are made with 3 eggs which is large. It would be nice if there was a two egg option. I can never finish it. I love how the veggies are cooked and cut up in smaller pieces in the veggie omelet and how creamy those grits are. Delicious...things like that keep you coming back!! The low reviews must be old. The staff seems overall very happy. Even at 7am, there is this 'buzz' of friendly conversation amongst the staff (and new manager I think?) Everything just feels warm and inviting, no one seems frustrated and I see everyone helping clean tables and bring food, from the hosts to the manager. Been coming for years and it just keeps getting better. The kitchen and whoever is running the coordination have great communication it's refreshing. Turkey BLT is amazing! A Server (heavily decked out in birthday swag - happy birthday girl!!) waiting on guests next to us and was lovely. Not the best breakfast I've had. Eggs were good bisquit and gravy was yuck. Gravy way to thick and a weird color. Bicquit was generic bacon was good sausages was cookie cutter. I asked for 2 pieces of toast. I was charged $2 for the skinniest pieces of bread they also brought it burnt on the edges. We ordered the banana pudding French toast, key lime pie pancakes, the grand classic, avocado toast, and coffee. The key lime pie pancakes are phenomenal. The pancakes are filling and fluffy and the key lime pie topping is flavorful and tart. The only item that needs improvement is the avocado toast. It is very simple and underwhelming. The hosts and servers are angry. I've been here a few times and it usually takes a long time to get sat. The food is decent but the service is consistently disappointing. It's always pretty busy so it's going to be a little slow but there is a clear lack of training for how the hosts should anticipate tables opening and seating guests. It must be all about the timing. The first time I came there had just been a power outage. That outage had the wait staff hand-writing orders, which delayed the kitchen fbecause they were having to read the handwritten orders. Does anybody read and hand-write anymore? Eggs up staff let me know that as I walked in, so I was warned. I chose to sit at the counter, rather than take a table away from others who were waiting, but I don't understand why sitting at the counter suddenly made me invisible once my order was placed and the food brought out. The person next to me had to wait five or more minutes for anyone to notice him. It wasn't until he got up to get his own menu that they must've noticed him. That's just bad form. To be fair, the food was put in front of me and then the waitress asked if everything was OK before I had even really taken a bite of everything. Then I never saw her again until I had asked someone else for a refill on my tea, then she magically appeared. She was nice enough, had a good sense of humor, but shouldn't all of your customers be important enough to check on -- especially when they're sitting next to the kitchen? It's not as though we counter-sitters were sitting in the back corner. On my next visit, the power was working at least, the waitress -- a different one than last time -- again was nice enough, but spent a lot of time chatting with her friends at the next table. As before, the food was okay, although the grits were undercooked, the portions generous, but nothing made a huge impression. I went in with too high of expectations, due to other telling me how great this place was. Overall, staff were awesome, but food was just "okay". Basic breakfast food. It wasn't amazing by any means. I got the Carmel apple pancakes with bacon. The bacon was great, the pancakes were lacking. Super dry. The crumble on top which wasn't typical crumble it was mantle crushed nuts was soggy. Very little Carmel and apples were super fake tasting. I've had similar pancakes at other chain and non chain places that were way better. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? If you are looking for a basic breakfast place and don't care about quality- this is definitely your place in my opinion. I'd rather spend a little more at other similar places and get a better quality pancake. Sorry Eggs Up Grill, just wasn't my jam. read more

Great way to start the day! Started off with a cinnamon caramel smile coffee. Beautifully made coffee that was a good start to breakfast! I ordered a two deuces breakfast. Eggs, bacon and pancakes. I upgraded to chocolate chip pancakes and I very happy I did. Everything was cooked wonderfully! Eggs were cooked absolutely beautifully. Nice and fluffy! My boyfriend ordered the goodness gracious omelet and my sister and dad ordered the Texas Farmhouse Omelet. Everyone loved everything that was brought out! My favorite was probably the homefries that were grilled rather than fried. Everything about our breakfast here was phenomenal and I'll definitely be returning. read more
