Small, mom and pops operation. There are a few parking stalls in the back of the building they are in. I had their barbecue chicken banh mi and Vietnamese iced coffee. The crust of the bread is very flaky and it is very soft. The chicken has a charred smoky taste along with your usual banh mi veggies. This is the best banh mi I've had so far. Their Vietnamese iced coffee was less sweet than others I've had at other Vietnamese restaurants and coffee places which I like better. This will be my go to for banh mi sandwiches! read more

I was very happy I finally got here to try their banh mi sandwiches! I'm so fortunate they are located so close to where I live. The storefront is small and you may have overlooked this hidden gem along Liliha st. Kinda bummed they always seem to be closed on days when its most convenient for me to go there for lunch. On my first visit here I ordered the bbq pork bahn mi, spring rolls and Vietnamese iced coffee. The springs rolls were good, but the winner is definitely the sandwich. I was so full from the spring rolls I ate first that I kept the banh mi sandwich to eat for the next day and the flavor was still poppin! One of the best bahn mi ive ever had 10/10. Next visit I want to try their vermicelli bowls. Cons- Prices are reasonable and parking is street only, no indoor/outdoor seating since this is a hole in the wall. Bella Banh Mi has been hyped up and for a good reason. Their banh mi was some of the best I've had. I love banh mi that have softer french bread since the harder ones get crumbs everywhere. I didn't really inspect my sandwich much but I got the saigon special that came with various meats and yummy pickled veggies. She packs a ton! The fact I drove here twice, the first time she was busy with a large group order so she couldn't take my order sadly and the second time I came here a bit before 8am in order to secure my sandwich! I also called ahead just to be sure. She also doesn't offer the rainbow dessert anymore, only for group orders sadly. I was quite bummed so I got the fresh soymilk instead. It's one of the super good quality fresh soymilks so it did not disappoint. Prices also raised from the initial prices seen on yelp! I'm a fan of beef bahn mi but since it wasn't available, I got the bbq chicken bahn mi. YUM!!!!! The filling was abundant and the flavor mixture between the chicken and the vegetables were excellent. The size of this sandwich was really worth the price of $8. I phoned in my order and picked it up so I didn't have to wait and also found out that there are couple of parking spots behind the restaurant. Now I'll definitely be back more often. Wow! There is a limited menu but what they have they make well. The fillings in their banh mi are the most flavorful I've ever had. We had the chicken and pork sandwiches and as other reviewers have said, you can really taste the grilling on the meats. Super fresh and delightful food from Bella Banh Mi Cafe! I can honestly say that this is the best banh mi I have ever had and I have had a lot of banh mis in my lifetime! I loved the smoked flavor to the meats. They give more insides than bread or wrapper, which is hard to come by these days. They put generous amounts of cucumber, carrots, and Chinese parsley in my sandwich and I enjoyed every last bite! The bread was perfect - flaky with lots of crunch. I love banh mi so much and Bella Banh Mi Cafe is going to be my go-to when I get banh mi cravings. The interior is small, very clean, and very welcoming! Bella Banh Mi Cafe also sells summer rolls and Vietnamese drinks and desserts. All are reasonably priced. I got to try the Saigon Special banh mi and the BBQ pork banh mi - both priced at $6.50 each. So good!!! Meat, pickled carrots and daikon, cucumber, cilantro, and I tasted maggi seasoning. Very yummy! I added mayo and sriracha to mine when I got home, but it was more than perfect as it was. We also ordered che, the rainbow dessert ($4). It was cool and refreshing and fun to eat. Parking can be difficult depending on when you come. The mom makes the soy milk fresh herself and you can taste it. The bbq pork banh mi was very flavorful. The chicken was good too, but I liked the pork better. I usually don't brave grand openings but I had to make an exception for this place today. The sweetest husband and wife team are the owners of this cozy Vietnamese banh mi shop. The menu options are limited but when the food is good, you don't need a million options. We ordered a bbq pork banh mi, bbq chicken banh mi, and their special dessert drink, Chè Ht Lu. This was my first time trying it and wow, I'm in love with it! The red "pearls" are tapioca coated pieces of water chestnut so you get both crunchy and chewy in one bite. If you've never had it before, I highly highly recommend you try it! They won techie bonus points with my husband for being able to accept Apple Pay. They do have reserved parking spots in the back of the building, stalls 1, 5, and 10. (I believe stall #1 is actually the handicap stall.) Decided to support local and drove to Liliha to try out this small place that we have heard good things. A very small menu, but the quality is great. A bit pricey for a smallish sized sandwich, but the flavor can't be beat. Crunchy pickled veggies and the right proportion of protein. Bread is toasty on the outside and not too thick. We tried the Saigon Special and it is very tasty. Love the added jalapeños for a nice kick. And the service is quick. We must have been out of there in less than 5 minutes. Wow just had one of the best tofu vegetarian banh mi sandwiches! I was in the Liliha area and saw this place pop up and wanted to try. Parking lot sucks but at least everything is take out so hopefully the stalls aren't always full. I placed an order and it was ready in five minutes. Didn't care for this BBQ sandwich. I feel like they ran low on ingredients near closing, and just stuffed it with pickled veggies and barely meat. The whole thing was 80% pickled vegetables and that's all I really tasted, just a small amount of bbq pork. Placed an order for sandwiches and vermicelli bowls, 21 items in all for my office. I sat here debating if I should give them 4 or 5 stars and honestly, I can't think of one thing they didn't do right. I ordered the vegetarian vermicelli bowl. I really wish I took the time to take a pic but as soon as I took off the cover, it smelled sooooo good. Come on now, how does a vegetarian bowl have such a pleasing aroma that you need to instantly dive in? This one did. I don't know if it was the onions, mint, peanuts, or just a great combination of everything. I quickly opened my "dressing" or "sauce" and poured it all over. Nom, nom, nom. The tofu was fried and sliced into nice slivered portions and mixed in with the yummy carrots and translucent rice noodles. I generally don't eat mint with my Vietnamese food but I did this time. I don't know what got into me except to say that my first whiff got me hooked. I went around the office, asking my coworkers how they liked their lunch. Usually, they might say, "It was good" with no facial expression. This time, they're eyes got big and they said, "It was reeeeally goooood". One of my coworkers was turned off by a banh mi that she ate from a food truck a while ago and swore off banh mi sandwiches. She had the Saigon Sandwich and is back to loving them, all because of Bella Banh Mi. Another coworker shared his Saigon Special banh mi with his wife who grew up in Saigon. I give a restaurant my order a day ahead with a pick-up time. Just about everyone will have it all ready at my designated time but the food would be cold. These guys didn't have it all ready, but I didn't wait long, and the food was warm when I took it the office. That earned them a star. Please check them out. They are worth it. After my favorite banh mi place in Ohana Marketplace closed, I tried various banh mi all over Honolulu in search of a replacement. Nothing came even close UNTIL I found Bella Banh Mi Cafe. The roll is the perfect combination of crisp (but not too crunchy) crust and soft inside...and not too doughy. The pickled vegetables are not overly vinegary and just the right size (not too chunky, which I see as a sign of a lazy chef). The jalapeno adds just enough heat, and you can add srihacha if you want more. The vegetarian is my favorite. And then I discovered the coffee jello drink - heavenly.
