I Ordered a large pepperoni pizza and 10 hot wings. The pizza was probably one of the worst I have ever had. I didn't even eat a full slice and It didn't taste good. Been a long-time customer. We received the second delivery in under two weeks. We used to enjoy the pizza and delivery service, but the pizzas have fewer and fewer toppings, and the delivery service has deteriorated. We specifically requested that they wait for someone to come to the door because we're older and have a flight of stairs to go down. They have left the pizza on the ground for the last 2 deliveries. I used to order from Bella Luna about once a week however due to the owner change, I stopped getting pasta because the sauce is very sweet and that's not the type of tomato sauce I like. I would however get a pizza every now and then. I decided to ordera pizza pop and a Caprese steak salad. This was delivery so there were fees. It was about $15. We ordered two grinders to go. One was a cold Italian combo the other was a chicken Parm grinder. One good one bad. The cold combo hardly had any meat in the sub. The chicken cutlet was very good full and tasty. I would hope Bella Luna becomes aware of the fact that competition is everywhere. The best delivery pizza place around !!! I'm reviewing the take-away portion due to never actually eating inside as of yet . Every time I order on GrubHub the food gets to me piping hot and perfectly cooked . Everything you would expect from taste was there . Today I ordered a lasagna (side salad included ) and loved that it came with 4 slices of Italian bread . All i had to do was supply butter . The lasagna had meat inside and plentiful cheese . Just like home !!! The salad was a nice presentation cheese on top just as I like it. This is the only place I will order calzones or pizza from. Authentic and cooked perfectly. The regular delivery guy is super nice and friendly (not sure if others I only see him ) . I tried their steak and cheese grinder recently and found that they make it the best. read more

Bella Luna usually never fails or does me wrong. Wings are good.. fries are ok (real basic fries, no seasoning but cooked nice)... cheesesteaks are pretty good... But tonight, I ordered (on GrubHub) for my family again the following - 2 cheesesteaks - 1 eggplant parm - fries - buffalo wings This food was absolutely piss-poor in quality. Both cheesesteaks had really hard, not-chewable bits in them and we had to pick out the crap from each bite until we were able to SEE them and pick them out. I ended up throwing a whole half of my cheesesteak out because I was so annoyed. The eggplant parm barely had any sauce and the bread was considerably over-toasted. I did specify to fry the buffalo wings hard, as I hate mushy wings that are pink in the middle, but these were nearly burnt to a crisp on the outside and not completely cooked not the inside. For the prices this place charges, there should be much consistency in the food quality. Cooks should also be mindful of the food they're cooking. The white strips of bone or whatever that were in the steak(s) are extremely visible. The only reason I am giving Bella Luna a 2-star review instead of a 1-star review is because there WAS potential, and I will not contest that. It was the first place my family and I ordered pizza and wings, and cheesesteaks from in Meriden when we moved here. Things simply got worse from there, and tonight really did it for me. I am extremely displeased and will indeed let this one-off experience from Bella Luna be the absolute last time I place an order from them. They say, "you can't win the lottery if you don't play," but most times it's wiser for you to save your money or invest in something else. On another note, if you're considering getting the buffalo chicken tenders -- DON'T. They're literally chicken tenders from Restaurant Depot with squirts of hot sauce on them. The delivery guy was nice though. All of the delivery people that I've had from Bella Luna were sweet. This place is probably the CREAM OF THE CROP when it comes to delivery/take out for local Meriden residents. We aren't from Meriden though. We found this place from Groupon and good Google reviews. Luna Bella's sit down area where my family ate dinner wasn't the best aesthetically to the eye but it was a requirement to use the Groupon so we did. When we came in there, there were some older locals sitting together and eating. Wasn't too busy for a Saturday in the seated area. Our server was very attentive and the food was done very well. I got a Chicken Parmigana dinner and my wife got Chicken Francese. Again, nothing fancy but it was good where it really mattered, the food. Everyone raves about their pizza. Okay at best- there are tons of pizza options in Meriden and this was one of the most disappointing. There were so many good reviews but we got just an okay cheese falling off pizza. We also got escarole and bean soup that tasted very funny, lemony almost. Not garlicky and savory like it should. My salad was decent. Came to $31 bucks. This was a restaurant that was on our list of go to places for dinner. We will not be going back based on our last couple of visits. First of all, we asked where the owner was as we wanted to say hello to him. We were told that he was on vacation which as it turns out, is not the truth. The people that we were talking to were the new owners. They must have been getting a lot of negative vibes already as who wouldn't be proud to say that they are the new owners! I will not go into much detail but based on what the food that was served before they purchased this establishment and what they are serving now is downhill all the way. Bland, tasteless and overcooked are just a few of the things. The lasagna was absolutely the worst that I have ever been served. For one thing, it didn't even look like the dish, flat noodles on a plate with some sauce and cheese and it had a aftertaste like vinegar. Before them, I would always order something different so I had quite a few items from the menu. I would be afraid to do that here. Also, it would be nice to have utensils supplied to you when the meals are presented. And, they should order new menus as everything that we ordered was higher than the price that was on the menu. With the previous owner, you felt welcomed there. That feeling is gone. I am sure that all of the "regulars" will feel the same way. The salads were gross - all iceberg lettuce (even the Greek salad) and each salad had 1/2 lb. of shredded carrots. The soups were a poor attempt at soup but not the real thing. We found most of their food to be bland and disappointing, but the pizza was decent for this area. Bella Luna catered our company Holiday Luncheon. The food was excellent, the roast beef was tender and delicious, the ziti ala vodka was perfectly prepared. The eggplant tender and just enough sauce and cheese. Other amazing dishes, chicken, baked fillet (fish) and their sides of roasted potatoes and veggies perfect!!!! They totally messed up the toppings. I would have been OK with the messed up toppings if the pizzas had been good. The sausage was ridiculously salty, and the pepperoni slice is still making me sick this morning. It was six of us eating, and we even offered some to the security guard at the hotel.
