I went again today and all the ladies were busy so the guy came out to do my nails. He's somewhere in his 20s and gave me the vibe of he didn't want to be there. Before I made an appt to go in for a gel pedicure and a gel-X soak off, I made sure that the gel would be soaked off and the owner confirmed it would be. I got a fill (gel) and a pedicure (gel) The pedicure was okay- they didn't clean under the nails which I thought was kinda odd but I could get past. That's were the 2 stars were given- however my French tips were horrific There was a gentleman who did the service and the work done was very sloppy to say the least. As someone who regularly gets French tip I didn't realize how hard it was to execute well since I've never had an issue at my regular place. The thumb is uneven and the white paint on the tips is messy They also used gel builder (I think) when I originally came with acrylic and I personally don't like the way it looks. It looks uneven. BEN IS THE BEST! I've gotten my nails done monthly my entire life and until a few months ago, I just happened to go to Kiwi Nails in Long Beach (same owners of Bella Nails) and had Ben help me. I always just got a plain color for my gel nails, but he's so great and the couple times I've had designs, he doesn't hesitate. He takes his time and is incredible at what he does, no matter if it's a solid color or a design idea you bring to him. Went to this nail salon twice, both times the experience was okay, however both times I paid $90+ for my gel x medium nails for basic design and a week later 3 nails have fallen off. It's definitely a little frustrating when I'm paying that price for them to fall off a week later. I am genuinely upset with my service here, especially because I walked out with a damaged nail bed and -$10. I went in for a gel x removal and after the lady drilled my nail down a bit, she kept trying to rip the gel x off with the end of another acrylic nail? I told her not to do that because it was cemented on. Later, after I soaked my nails off and the gel x was jelly like she proceeds to pick off the gel x with cuticle cutter and cuts through my actual nail!! I was so upset I wanted to cry because it hurt. Then it started bleeding! She apologized, but she should have known that ripping off the gel x is not the proper way off removing them. If I had wanted that, I would have done that at home. Now I have a worry of my finger getting infected. Just completely disappointed. The good: I got my fingernails done by Kelly and my pedicure done by another woman (forgot to ask for her name). Both were very nice and easy to talk to. I liked how efficient it was that my pedicure and manicure were done at the same time rather than 1 after another. The interior is clean, modern and calming. They played instrumental versions of popular songs. There are around 10 pedicure stations and 4 manicure stations (but you can get manicures in the pedicure chairs too). A gel manicure and pedicure combo with a light massage was $75. There is plenty of parking and they accept walk-ins. The interior was clean, spacious and tasteful. They had a lot of color options for gel. They also do waxing. The bad: I think I wanted color 113 but they did color 115 on me instead. I didn't realize the difference until it was too late. They take Venmo, Zelle or cash only. I do not know if they do dip manicures. The interesting: They offer gift certificates. Heads up that they don't take cards. Only cash, Venmo, or Zelle. Afterwards I noticed signs all over the place that they prefer cash. It's impossible to dry your nails without seeing one of these signs, so I'm not sure if the expectation is to tip on the app and then with cash as well. I tipped the maximum amount on the app since I hadn't planned to pay in cash that day, but regretted this shortly after... The lady who did my manicure took my payment beforehand because she said that way my nails wouldn't get messed up... this was my first time there and I hadn't been pressured to pay (and tip) before the service at another salon before so I thought that was a bit strange. After I paid her whole demeanor seemed to change and not for the better. I was in a lot of pain during the manicure as she seemed to keep missing my nails... one time she had the nail clipper above my skin and almost clipped a huge chunk of it off so I asked her to pause. She wasn't happy about this and afterwards I looked at her while she clipped the rest of my nails because she had aimed for a chunk of skin instead of the nail AGAIN. She even made a comment that she didn't like me looking at her work on my nails (which has never been an issue at other salons I've been to). She is an older lady so I understand her eyesight may not be that great but I think that's more reason to go slower and be more thorough with the service... it felt very rushed while I was there. I think that's the most rushed I've felt while getting my nails done. Needless to say it was very hard to relax. Thankfully I got through the manicure with my fingers intact... I did have some cuts from the aggressive (and rushed) filing but somehow the edges were still left jagged. So basically my actual skin was filed more than my nails. Now on to the polish part of it. I paid for a French tip style manicure which was so messy that I had chunks of nail polish under my nails and this was under almost every finger. There was nail polish on my skin on the other side too. With this amount of polish you'd think the nails would be opaque but nope... there were spots completely missing color so I asked for another coat on those nails. Like others have said, she was very irritated when I asked for it to be fixed... but it truly was the messiest manicure I've gotten. I was about to give up and just grab some acetone myself but I saw the other lady who did my pedicure and she encouraged me to speak up. The edges that were supposed to be filed were also not filed properly so that the jagged edges stuck out even more after polish was added. Before this I also had to ask for acetone because the French tip lines weren't automatically cleaned under, which has never happened at another salon before. I really wanted to like this place and am very disappointed at this experience. I was hoping this would be my new go-to nail salon in the area. Oh I should also add that my appointment was at 1pm but they insisted it was at 1:30pm. Totally fine and luckily I wasn't in a rush that day, but keep that in mind if you are. They do have a sign by the entrance that tells you to show up early ahead of your appointment and that they can make you wait 15 minutes after your appointment time so definitely something to consider when planning ahead. I am giving it an extra star because I liked the lady more who did my pedicure as she was nicer and more helpful. I didn't see her when I was done otherwise I would have gotten her name so I would feel more comfortable about coming back. I should also note that when I was done, not one person checked on me--helped with my slippers, see if nails are dry, not even a courtesy goodbye or thank you. It felt so awkward waiting for my ride and even as I said bye on my way out, it still felt weird. Anyway this was recommended to me in a mom's group so I didn't read the other reviews beforehand... I'm gonna give it the benefit of the doubt and say MAYBE that this was an off day but please definitely do your research beforehand. After the long wait they gave us the gel color selection. Scarce. Not much to choose from and the colors they do have look cheap and used up. Still... As I'm looking through the color pallets I see a USED band aid stuck to it. I immediately told the girl, "This has a used band aid on it." Her-" ok so what color do you want?" Me-" I want to look at the colors without a dirty bandaid." Against my better judgment, I stayed and chose a color. The girl who did my toes was bad, but the woman who came to do my hands an additional 20 min later was worse. The polish was uneven didn't go all the way to the top or the edge. She asked me if I put lotion on my hands ( which has never been an issue before) and said my nails were too moist for the polish. It was so bad I asked her to take it off. I'm kicking myself I didn't take a picture for you to see for yourself. I declined her offers to redo the nails. At that point I just wanted to leave. Then she tried to charge me $10 for a file and shape of my nails. Are you serious? In the end.. after a fuss.. they didn't charge anything. But my time, and yours, is worth money. THEN... on a Wednesday they didn't have enough stones to do designs on my hands and feet. On top of the other tomfoolery the young lady with the bad attitude began arguing with me about how many stones were actually on the picture I showed her. ‍‍ The pedicure experience was so amazing I ended up going to another shop to get another one. A real one. Sarcasm for those of you who hadn't picked up on it yet. She removed my old gel and shaped my nails (I kept asking for extremely square, and I got it on 1 big toe, but not the other). I went here a few weeks ago before my trip because I needed to get my nails done last min and was so grateful they could take me and also it was a great price to get mani and pedi together. The place itself was very nice and clean. After sitting down, the woman got started on my toes and immediately cut my middle toe. She didn't really notice and just kept going but it hurt really bad and I told her she needed to put alcohol on it so she did and just kept going without saying anything. Then the other woman started on my fingers and cut my finger and that started bleeding. It was painful, I understand that accidents happen so I wasn't mad at first, but by the end of the appointment I left with two bloody nails and zero apology or anything offered to make it right. I asked if I had to pay full price because I didn't like how my toes looked along with being cut twice, and she only gave me five dollars off the service. She said because of the language barrier, the lady didn't know to apologize for cutting me AnyWho, I guess I would go back if I needed a quick job but just wasn't the best experience all around.
