I walked into the nail shop at 12:14p to ask about scheduling an appointment for a fill and pedicure the following day. I was asked what time the following day. I said, 12p. The guy sitting at the front looked and said they weren't available at that time. No other words uttered, just that they weren't available. The customer service in me would have asked a customer if 12:45p, 1:00p, 2:00p would suffice. He looked lost and said nothing. What has happened is this, never ever on time! Not a couple minutes but half hour. This review is only for the quality of the service. The place is clean, very peaceful, and relaxing. People who work there are very nice. Tina is a nice old lady - but worst pedicure EVER - such a horrible horrible job. She probably should not be doing nails - her hands were not steady, she smudged my toe nails with her hands repeatedly and forgot to put the bottom coat. The first nail salon I found in the area, I tried to attempt another walk-in (definitely a walk-in full service type of gal which isn't always ideal but I'm a new client looking for a new place) I have to admit the little upgrades from WEST LA nail salons made me return. I was asked if I could come back later.. which normally isn't a problem but their later turned out to be "tomorrow". Sorry, I'm a woman who needs her nails done and it was Friday night, being told to come back tomorrow almost made me faint. Love this place. I repeat LOVE THIS PLACE!!! The prices are great and it's family owned. I've been here now three times and they are very kind and attentive each time I visit. Since it's family owned it's a very small team of three people working in the salon. I recommend calling ahead and scheduling a time slot. They allow walk ins but really don't have enough staff to accommodate if all 3 are working on guests. My nails always look great after I come here and it doesn't break the bank. The only place for improvement would be to pay faster at the end. I always find it hard to pay for my services at the end because one of the three has taken on a new client and I don't want to interrupt. If they could make this a bit easier I would love that. Today was my first time here. I didn't have to wait at all, the girl took me right away. I got a gel pedicure by Tiffany. She was very thorough with taking out all the icky cuticles and dry skin. She did an awesome job applying the nail polish as well and cleaned around the edges really good. And even after she was done she did another check to make sure everything looked nice. I work at a hospital and am always concerned about cleanliness . I must say this nail salon passes my tough scrutiny. I watch everything that goes on while gettin a wonderful mani pedi here. They are constantly cleaning and sterilizing everything I feel like I'm in the O.R as I watch them drape their clean carts they set up after each client leaves . They are meticulous. Also they always line the spa tubs & sterilize the basins and wipe down chairs. This place is perfect for a germaphobe. No germs here! Besides all of the technical stuff this a family business . Mom & daughter and son-in-law all do a fabulous job. I've never been rushed through here like many salons trying to get customers in and out. I do suggest you try to make an appointment if you can since there are 3 people working here. I've walked in a few times but now on the weekends I call a few hours before so after I work at the hospital I can drop in for my appointment. Mani/pedi wasn't bad. Went in on a quiet Saturday and it was just the owner and her daughter working. They have a pretty good nail color selection and will do nail design as well. Do not go near this horrible place. I got my toe clipped today at this place. Not only did I lose 1/3 of my naiL (all the way down to the pink part), but she clipped the flesh too. She used a cuticle clipper instead of a proper nail clipper. I bled for 45 minutes. I walked out of the salon after I blasted this person. I headed to Rite-Aid to purchase hydrogen peroxide and neosporin. I am trying to file a complaint with the health department. read more

After several horrible experiences in Hermosa/Redondo, I stopped in here about 10 years ago and have been coming back ever since. Sure you might wait, and no, the atmosphere isn't trendy and fancy, but Tina has been by far the best manicurist I have ever had. The prices are ridiculously low which, of course, is a plus, but the quality is amazing. This is the second pedi I've had at West Coast Nail Spa AND it was as thorough and beautiful as was the first time. So, I wear Birkenstock all the time and the ugly truth is, it gives me a callus along the outside edge of my heels. Every time I point out this area while at other nail spas...they don't remove the callus or they do half ass job AND everyone knows you have to pay more for callus removal...(You know what I'm Thinking~At other nail spas you know they're talking about you but you don't understand the language) hmmm ~I'm so happy I found a nail spa that treats me with respect and makes my ugly feet beautiful!!!! I love to try different nail salons because their mom and pop owned. I've been to 2 in this area that were fantastic but also expensive. I decided to come to this place since it's just a min driving distance to my home. I came in at 10am. There were 2 ladies who were being attended so I would be next to get serviced. They are understaffed. I ended up leaving at 12pm. I don't think I've ever waited that long for a nail service. One thing I don't like is when someone tells me: "she will be right with you" and they make me sit in the spa with water so I can't leave. Just tell me that it's going to be an hour wait. I'm all for transparency but don't make it seem like it's going to be a 5-10 min wait. I had an appointment that I ran 30 min late too. I don't think I will be back.
