I've been coming to Verni for almost a year now, and honestly the only reason I even switched was because my old spots just weren't the same anymore. My nail guy's work started slipping, and the woman I used to go to for pedicures retired, so I had to find somewhere new. I decided to try this place because I saw a really strong, genuine review -- and I'm big on quality. Plus the outside and inside is super cute and clean!! I'm the type of person who finds a place I trust and sticks with them for years. I'm also very particular, (as you know with everything) Lol especially when it comes to my nails. I've been getting them done since I was 12 with my grandma, so I know exactly what I like. That being said, this place really delivers when it comes to quality -- especially Morgan and Vu. Morgan does my nails and she really listens. She pays attention to the details that matter to me, like getting the polish close to the edge, shaping them exactly how I like, and helping me choose the right colors. But, most of the time I bring my own. :) Vu does my pedicures, he is sooo nice and a sincere person, and I don't even have to say much -- he just knows what he's doing. I always leave feeling super relaxed, and honestly, he gives one of the best massages I've had. Overall, I'm really happy I found this place. My first time here and I enjoyed my experience. Second time, not so much. Like another reviewer stated, what I asked for on my pedi was overidden by the tech doing my mani who said they'd let me know after seeing my nails. What?? I just asked for my nails to be cut short not anything fancy. This isn't my first rodeo getting a mani pedi in my life. And she wasn't even doing my pedicure. She actually ended up painting my toes though and while I didn't request three coats of polish, she took the liberty of doing so and I didn't notice until she got to the second foot when I noticed how thick the polish was. I told her that next time I only want two coats. She replied that next time I need to tell her but how would I think she'd do three coats when she did only two on my hands? I am a little surprised at her retort. I still tipped generously because I appreciate the intention but not likely to come back. read more

If you follow my reviews, you know I got actually a super-bad cut at my last salon, and was hesitant to even get a manicure at all! Verni has helped me get over that fear. I really want to like this place as it is a very convenient location, has plenty of parking, and is easy to book online/on the phone. I have been here 10 times in the last 8 months or so. The service I have received (I'm talking about mani/pedi service as well as customer service) has been all over the place - sometimes extremely friendly, sometimes mildly friendly, and other times borderline rude (almost as if my appointment is a hinderance). Overall, I have been pretty happy with the different manicures and pedicures I've received, but my most recent gel French manicure was deplorable. I successfully communicated to the nail tech that I preferred clear polish rather than pink/nude as the base, but I asked the nail tech 3 times to please cut my nails short and she would simply not cut my nails. She kept filing. I have had more manicures than I can count at various shops over the years and I have never had a manicure where my nails were not cut. I know that I should have asked someone at the front desk to come over, and it's a shame that I didn't. One of my nails is already chipping after less than 48 hours, which I truly don't believe has ever happened on a gel manicure - possibly from only having one coat of polish and one top coat? Mind you this manicure is $60. I told the woman at the front desk about the nail tech not cutting my nails and she said she would have the manager call me. I insisted it wasn't necessary - just to please let nail techs know that if a customer is asking multiple times to cut their nails, please cut their nails! read more

The manager at this shop, Annie, is very courteous and accommodating. She is there to get business. She served me at the initial visit. Unfortunately, one cannot make an appointment with her and expect her to keep it. There is always a substitute without advance warning. Therefore, I was served by many others, but not Annie. The others would often call out or shout comments to each other in their native langauge, while serving me. Otherwise, they made little effort to talk to me in English, and I felt like an inanimate object. Further, in a phone discussion, their reaction was that I didn't like them, and they seemed to resent it. In my opinion, this is not acceptable customer service particularly if the goal is to establish repeat business.Hopefully, you speak their native language and should get along fine here otherwise. read more

So sad that the quality of this place changed after their remodel. I went yesterday, and now both of my big toes were swollen, sore, and even bleeding slightly when I woke up. The prices are crazy now. I spent about $150 or more on my visit for a full set and whatever pedi that came with a scrub. The same treatment I used to get now costs like $20 more. I also got the simplest flower ever on my ring finger that I could have done myself and I think I was charged super extra for it and they're not even symmetrical. My full set looks really nice, but the UV flashlight they started using to dry the glue quicker was uncomfortable. Also, I made an appt for that full set and pedi, but didn't get my pedicure for about a half hour because only 4 people were working. I unfortunately won't be coming back read more

Update... nails lasted almost two weeks. There products suck. All my nails started to lift what a horrible fill. One nail fell off last week one week after getting my nails done. I went in to get a fix and they asked me to come back another day because there wasn't someone there to fix my nail because the guy didn't know how to do acrylic or gel builder. I told him I couldn't. Someone ended up fixing my nail that day, but didn't even know how to do the design. I got so it didn't look that great then they told me that they were going to not charge me for the nail as if I should be grateful like they gave me something however, I wasn't gonna pay to get a nail fixed. That's been broken less than a week after I got them done. This shouldn't be happening to me regardless I always get my nails done and they last me at least a month especially with gel builder. Zero if possible. I had gel x done at another salon. I only did the gels once. Before that my nails were super thick and healthy. I went to Verni to have the gel c removed and my nails buffed out. The nail tech seemed annoyed right away probably because I wasn't having a new set out on. Well... she grinned my nails down to the point that nail bed is protruding through, and this is on every nail. I'm in so much pain and I had to go to urgent care. I literally had to stop the nail tech and tell her no more. The nail tech kept saying that the previous nail lady did my gel x too thick, which I agree, but I don't understand how grinding my nails until the bleed and those nail bed is showing is helpful. DONT GO HERE. This place will cause you more harm than good and will cost you a big urgent care bill read more

After researching reviews on nail shops, I landed on Vernie decided I wanted to see a particular person named Morgan because of reviews that she had. Their online appointment system wouldn't let me make an appointment with Morgan so when I went in on Wednesday 21 May, they asked if I had made an appointment with someone in particular I said yes, but it wouldn't let me pick that person. They said it was an error and they'll get it fixed. At that moment, Morgan was busy so I said I'll come back tomorrow if she has an appointment available tomorrow so I made an appointment for 130 with Morgan. That was for today the 22nd. I walked in at 1:24 PM and there was somebody sitting in front of her being taken care of and they said don't worry she's just finishing up a polish so I thought nothing of it. 15 minutes later I look over and she is filing this woman's nails. So I got up. I went to the front desk and I told the lady there I don't do this. When I have an appointment, I expect the person to be on time even if it's not to the minute, but they need to be on time. I said I'll come back tomorrow if she has a time tomorrow, what is her first available And she said her first available's already taken. I said OK she goes. Let me check Friday I said no I'm getting my nails done for Friday. I don't have time to come in on Friday. So I had to walk out for the second time in a row without getting my nails done. I don't know the job these people do as far as how well they do Nails because I didn't get to find out. But I will not and cannot go to a shop that can't be on time better than 30 to 45 minutes from a scheduled appointment. So my search continues to find another shop. Update: I have no issues waiting a few minutes, the salon only had 1 customer at the time I walked in. I was told she was finishing up polish, that was not true. 5stars- young man the receptionist 2 stars- Nail techs lack of friendly customer service I've been coming in for years off and on due to the nail techs, their basic customer service is not always on par in fact I would say borderline rude and the thing is they probably don't even know their lack of friendly service rubs customers the wrong way. Which is even worse. I came in about a month ago on a weekday for a gel manicure. The young man/receptionist is always kind. The nail tech comes up to me with an annoyed looked (no smile) annoyed because she has to do my mani ( bad day?? ) Dawn clearly is not happy, I could barely understand her because she mumbled and at the end she looks at me and says, IM DONE W/ A SMILE!!!! OK, always the nail techs have given me a hand rub with a hot towel at the end... She did NOT do this and nor did I even ask. She clearly did NOT want to do the hand rub even though Verni prices have gone up I was not given the entire service that I paid for. At this point I'm annoyed that I'm going to have to pay for a nail tech who's having a bad day and did not provide me the whole service. I will not be going back due to the poor service from the techs. Paying more we need the whole package not worth it for me. I just never know if I'm going to get a moody or happy tech. read more

It pains me to write this review. My favorite salon that I have come to for 8 years is officially now awful and shady. I got a full set yesterday, I wanted French. The guy didn't speak or understand any English and just couldn't understand what I wanted, he did coffin when I wanted square, wouldn't do the length I wanted, picked a sheer pink when I wanted matte and painted the white tip so messy and smeared. I showed him a picture of what I wanted several times!! I was there for 2 hours. My appointment was at 3 and I left at 5. I was so frustrated that I said forget it and just paint my nails one color that's how bad he did the French. He literally did the worst job just painting them. I paid 60.00 plus 10.00 tip. The owner told me I could come back today and someone else could fix them. So I did come back, they literally tried to charge me another 10.00 for getting French when that's what I originally wanted! They are lying about prices, a full set is 50.00, another worker told me bc I wanted them long they charge an extra 5.00 but I was charged an extra 10.00. No apology for wasting my time, coming back to get them fixed etc, instead it was MORE money! When I told her I was shocked she said nevermind and I didn't have to pay. I still tipped the new guy who fixed them 10.00 so I spent 80.00 for this mess. These ppl are insane bc they want your money but don't want to do a basic decent job! If you're going to change a premium price the work must also be premium. These ppl are lying and price gouging and that's the thanks I get for being a loyal customer for 8 years. NEVER AGAIN and I know I'm not the only one bc this place is always empty now. read more
