Customer service is lacking. Make sure your a perfect client. I was 15mins late for my first appointment with alex. I was lost and parking. I figured all Salons ive been to are always behind it will be ok or they will call me to check on my status. Friend recommended him and salon. He left within mins of my supposed appointment at 3:15. I was told they close at 4pm and no other stylists were available. Shows online they close at 5. Saved me $150+ by being late. Willing to see another stylist since was already there but no go. Guess they dont really care to have new clients. When I booked few days beforehand alex had five openings so wasnt a wait list. So sad to be treated this way and my friend that recommended place was shocked too. I understand I was late but geez this wasnt a high end salon experience I was expecting. First impressions are everything and they are in service profession. Ive been personally going through the passing of my mom and was looking forward to this appointment to have a little makeover and give me a pick me up. And was looking for a new hair stylist anyway since my lady moved further out of town. Poor experience or lack of one. read more

This salon is a top spot! I have been all over to different salons in Houston over the years and Bella Rinova is by far my favorite. Ryan Hammon at the salon is your go-to guy for cut, blow dry and color. He is also a great stylist for weddings and special events- I used him on my wedding day and I have many friends who have used him for their big day as well. He does an absolutely amazing job. Everyone in the salon is friendly - the front desk managers especially. The new location in River Oaks District is so beautiful! I heard really good reviews, but I was personally disappointed. I had a noon appointment and my stylist showed up at 12:20. I told her that I just wanted my layers shortened up, and I ended up with 2.5 inches cutoff and no layers. A very expensive price for a very unimpressive haircut. Amazing! I can't say enough kind words about the team at Bella Rinova Salon... they literally saved my wedding day! Not living in Texas and getting married in Texas it was a challenge to find a salon to get my hair done at with no recommendations and not being able to have a trial run. I found what i thought was a good salon in Houston, (in the Loop), boy was i wrong! On my wedding day i left the salon in tears and with no idea where to go. My maid of honor and i made our way over to Crave Cupcakes in Uptown to pick up the cupcakes for the wedding hoping to find a salon in the Uptown area that could help my bad hair situation. We walked into Bella Rinova and they found a way to fit me in with no appointment because they could clearly tell i was desperate (getting married in 5 hours). Justin, at Bella Rinova, saved the day! he made me laugh at my situation and assured me that in 20 minutes i would be a beautiful bride... and he was right! I was the highest bidder at a charity auction for a Bella Rinova Gift Certificate for a "Hair Consultation/Styling & Makeup Application." Since I am getting married in October I intended to use this certificate as a trial for my hair/makeup for my wedding day. Well, this certifcate has been the hardest thing to redeem- first off they have a restriction on the days the certificate can be used (only Tues or Thurs) and when I called to book my appointment (3 weeks in advance) I was told that they do not have a makeup artist working in their salon that could apply my makeup. Additionally, the "hair consultation and style" that is printed on the certificate is actually a wash and blow dry! I dont want my hair washed, I want it styled as per the certificate! I explained my frustration with the receptionist and asked to speak to the manager (she refused to allow me to speak with her). I have NEVER had a more difficult time in trying to redeem a gift certificate that I paid $200 for and I have NEVER experienced such poor customer service in my life. DO NOT BUY A GIFT CERTIFICATE FROM THIS PLACE AND DO NOT GO HERE, THEY ARE TERRIBLE! read more

I was on their website one day looking at the services they offer. I finally decided to make an appointment after having some free time. My eyebrows are very light so I just wanted to darken them up a bit. I made an appointment for an eyebrow tint which takes about 15 minutes. I went in the same day I called. I had a choice to either do brown or black. I chose the brown so it wouldn't turn out so dark. She explained that it wasn't a dye but just a tint to make them darker which would last for about a month. I was fine with that. She didn't tint both eyebrows evenly to match each other...that was the only problem I had with the session. The weekend passed, and the tint is pretty much gone. I'm sure it was due to the amount of times I washed my face...but seeing how it didn't last very long, I wouldn't go back to redo the tinting. The lady doing my eyebrows was very nice and answered all the questions I had. Everything was great...it just didn't last as long as I expected. read more

My review is based on both personal and professional experience... I work at a makeup store in close proximity to this salon and we always send clients there for special occasion hair. I particularly highly recommend Elia and Ryan. I personally have been going to Ryan for close to 2 years now. I pretty much just tell him to do whatever he wants to my hair, and I always get compliments. It's usually some kind of long layered cut and balayage hilights. He will go on location or come in early or stay late to accommodate clients upon request. He has a great personality and having your hair done by him is just like hanging out with a close friend. I have never had an updo from him but clients that I have seen come from his chair always have beautiful, original styles: his updos are always stylish and beautifully finished. I have been going to Ryan for over 7 years and I always feel great after seeing him, especially when I get a dry haircut. I trust him and love his brutal honesty with me. I tried a Keratin treatment many years ago and had a very bad experience with it. That is why when Ryan suggested it I was doubtful. Being a professional male in his 40's who colors his hair is tricky. It can't be obvious. The test is when I come home and if my son starts singing a Back street Boys song I immediately call my connections with the mafia. By the next day that stylist is working in Dallas. Angel Reyes, however, is safe from the confines of Dallas. He takes the time to factor in my skin tone ( I guess) with the color and the shape of my face with the cut even without the threat of exile. I am constantly complemented about my hair and its color. Been going to Bella Rinova for many years now and have been very happy with their services. They have now moved into a beautiful new space and I love it! However, I learned recently that 2 wonderful members of their team was fired. And from what I understand, it was done in a dreadful way. I'm particularly upset about Jay being let go after he helped move the new salon over to their new location. Half the reason I loved going to BR was because of Jay, who ran the front desk. He's so professional, efficient and always had a smile on his face. Not sure what the owner was thinking of when she let Jay go and replaced him with a couple of men that have very little clue as to running the front desk, making appointments and general customer service. The new "floor manager", I feel has a lot to learn. It appears this is his first attempt at running a salon, but I suppose one needs to learn somewhere. Just wish it weren't at Bella. I'm concerned with stylists getting fired out of the blue now as well. I go to a few different stylists, but Jumana is my favorite. She does amazing work and I'm always stopped when out, getting many compliments on my hair. A few other customers were concerned with what's happening there as well. Here's hoping the front desk gets it together, or better yet, they simply bring Jay back. The stylists get 5 stars.....but not management. read more
