Good Atmosphere. Decent Food. All in all - Average at Best. I came optimistic even after reading the reviews, but unfortunately we had to face the facts. The atmosphere both indoor and outdoor are nice. White tablecloths and good lighting. Outdoor would benefit from some light music and a little table decor. The service was okay. We were checked on once, and that was nice. Food was also just okay. We wished everything had a more rich flavor - butter, cream, spices - all of it would have helped. We ordered the carbonara and the house special - both were good but expensive. Prices should be about $5 cheaper per item. Unfortunately they still do not have their liquor license as of 05/15/26 and said it "should come in the next week or so." This was not bad, but I can't say we will be back.

Food was yummy! We got fried ravioli, spaghetti and meatballs, rigatoni with sautéed vegetables add shrimp. We sat outside and it was perfect. Our server was nice. We didn't feel rushed and she kept checking on us.

Okay a soft opening still trying to get the liquor license approved. It is nice to see a new store occupying a restaurant that was not to the taste of the area. Of course, sitting out on the terrace you get the full view of the river in the walking bridge so that is a big plus for this place . So what about now. I ordered a Cesar salad and meatballs by themselves to see how they tasted An Italian restaurant should do a good job of making them. They were okay. The sauce was simple heated up, crushed tomatoes with no spices, salt or pepper in it. The garlic rolls well okay. I would rather have a focaccia instead. One thing I did notice and I know this is a soft opening for the restaurant. I was a single eater and was treated like I wasn't even there. In fact when I checked out, the waiter disappeared didn't come back. No one said goodbye so they have a little bit of customer service that they need to work on. Overall, I would give the ambience a 10 out of 10, I would give the food that is six out of 10. There's a lot of things that could have a little bit more spice to them. Service on the other hand, I would give a three out of 10.

We love Bella Roma! We went on a Tuesday evening. Parking was very convenient. We were seated as soon as we arrived. Food was full of flavor. From the garlic bread knots to the calamari to the pasta! It a small restaurant with its own warm vibe. Cannot wait to go back!

I was out for dinner for one so sat at the bar. The small patio area was filling up but I wouldn't want to take a full table to myself on a Friday night anyway. It was about 645 so not quite dinner rush for the weekend but there was seating available. I wouldn't count on that even 15 minutes later though. I'm unsure if they take reservations or not. Again, I was solo at the bar. I'm less of a wine drinker, but the bartender did a great Long Island tea (something many places around here seem weak at, so this is high praise coming from me). They brought out these little twisters garlic bread things with fresh garlic and fresh tomato dipping sauce. Yumm!! I ordered the chicken parm. It was between that or the lasagna bolognese. They were similarly priced (dinners were mid $20s which is entirely reasonable for the portion and the bread). The chicken Parmesan came with a healthy serving of spaghetti as well. I couldn't even tough it, I was so full! The chicken was perfectly cooked. The service was excellent. The building is in old downtown new Albany so obviously the charm of the older building and all that goes with it is part of the experience. I'm new to the area but I have a feeling I'll become a regular at this great find!

I recently matched with a guy on a bumble who recommended this place and took me here for our first date. We went on a Tuesday night and the place was completely empty! The waitress even gave us a sample of wine. And we get garlic knots as a starter. I had the carbonara and my date got the pasta with vodka sauce. We even had cannolis at the end! It was very tasty!!

There is something to be said about fresh pasta & these folks used all of my ten dollar words when bouncing ideas off one another in creating it. The only thing I didn't care for were the 'shrooms and it had nothing all to day with preparation or the cook of them but rather my dental work. That pasta dish was so delicious I contemplated another one to go for a midnight snack! In all seriousness, if you can make it, I totally recommend it. Bestie had the Lasagne Al Fornno and it was also delectable. I specifically saved room for dessert and the Tiramisu was not a disappointment. Seriously folks, go! Run! It's just that good. We have enjoyed ourselves immensely and if I ever make it back, bar bites are next up.

The pasta was properly cooked, the sauce was good, but not much better than a jar off the shelf. The veal, breaded & fried was overcooked - thus very chewy. I ordered a side Caesar salad. I appreciated the dressing on the side. Nothing out of the ordinary. Lettuce, cheese, croutons & dressing. For dinner, I went with a baked pasta sampler. I chose baked spaghetti w/meatballs; lasagna & meat ravioli. The raviolis were inconsistent. Some were good, but most had dough that I found undercooked and "pasty". The lasagna was good, although buried under the same sauce as the spaghetti. Hard to tell where one dish ended and the other began. Honestly, the hit of the meal was the meatball. Absolutely delicious. A huge breakdown was the gluten free spaghetti & meatballs I ordered to bring home to my wife. The pasta was actually rigatoni. It was severely undercooked. And a $3.99 upcharge? I could buy an entire box of pasta for $3.99. And after specifically ordering gluten free pasta, the "To-go" dinner came with regular "garlic bread". Oops. Tuscany needs to step up their game. Too many misses with just a few hits. For me, it's a one and done.

Tucked away on Frankfort Avenue, it's a little off the beaten path, and parking can be an adventure. There's a small lot by the restaurant with overflow parking further down the hill. Somehow we managed to snag the only open space right outside the front door, which felt like winning a very specific Louisville lottery. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and the place was already buzzing. It was packed with locals, which is usually a good sign. While our table was being bussed, three different employees checked to make sure we were being helped. We let them know we were just a little early and waiting on our table, but it spoke volumes about the attentiveness of the staff. The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a neighbourhood pizza spot: relaxed, lively, and unpretentious. The soundtrack quietly floating through the speakers was a crate-digger's delight, full of songs that have been sampled throughout hip-hop history. Hearing Lynn Collins' Think (About It) while waiting for dinner felt particularly apt following the recent passing of Rob Base. The song's iconic break became the foundation of It Takes Two, one of hip-hop's most recognisable records, and it was a nice reminder of how deeply great music connects generations. To start, we ordered the Olives & Togarashi, a bowl of Castelvetrano olives coated in a wonderfully aromatic blend of spices with notes of fennel, sesame and citrus. My son tried his first olive and was genuinely shocked by the flavour. He'll come around eventually. For the main event, we ordered three large pizzas: the DOP Margherita, the Funghi and the Original Sting. The DOP Margherita showcases imported buffalo mozzarella from Campania alongside basil and San Marzano tomatoes. The Funghi is loaded with an incredible blend of mushrooms, taleggio, pecorino cream and mozzarella. The Original Sting combines soppressata, fresh mozzarella, basil, tomato and spicy local honey in a sweet-and-savoury combination that completely works. Now, let's talk about the crust. It is perfect. Pillowy and light, yet substantial enough to give you that satisfying chew. The wood-fired oven creates just the right amount of charred bubbling around the edges. Our server offered house-made ranch and other dipping sauces for the crust, but we politely declined. This pizza doesn't need any enhancers. The balance of flavours across all three pies was exceptional. I've eaten pizza all over the world, and Pizza Lupo belongs in that conversation. It really is that good. We had a plan: sample all three pizzas and leave just enough room to split the tiramisu. Thankfully, we stuck to it. The tiramisu was fresh, light and beautifully balanced. Not overly sweet, nicely moist, with just enough espresso flavour coming through. It was the perfect finish to an outstanding meal. The service was fast without feeling rushed, friendly without feeling scripted, and genuine throughout the evening. We left full, not bloated, and happy as spring lambs, already talking about what we'd order next time. We'll defo be back. Cheers, Sam
