Their lunch special prices are awesome but everything on the menu is a combination of red sauce and cheese. Neither of which are particularly good. The servers are all so lovely and kind! The ambiance is romantic. I can imagine they're in a great bit of debt from upgrading TJ's burgers but I want Tj's back. Welcoming and friendly staff with excellent recommendations. The garlic knots with olive oil, garlic dipping sauce is delicious, the house salad was fresh and crisp (try the homemade tomato basil dressing it so good even for dipping). We had the fried cheese raviolis that came with a cheese cream sauce; perfect amount for a nice appetizer. The eggplant Parmesan was delicious. We had Saturday evening dinner here. Pretty spacious place, the decor is lovely. Lighting feels comfy :) We received a basket of bread to start, bread was warm and delicious. I would really enjoy it with a small olive oil dip that has some seasoning. Seen the dip that at other places. The salad was standard. I ordered the Bella Sera Chicken , my boyfriend ordered the Linguine Puttanesca. We got the kids Ravioli, it was delicious favorite thing I ordered. The Bella Sera Chicken was good, not amazingly grand. It has a nice sauce that is lemon-y. Though it comes with capers and olives, I would change the olives to green and to way less and the capers I would go easy on that. The sun-dried tomatoes are also good but easy on those three flavors and it would be best paired with a fish filet, not chicken. But it was good again. The puttanesca from what my boyfriend said was great. Very strong fish from the anchovies. The service was very nice. Sarah was our waitress and she knows how to take care of her guest. She had an upbeat energy. And she was very polite and caring to our needs. The four out five is to let others know that this is a great place to try and to come back to, but keep in mind we aren't eating at a fancy restaurant, it was great for us. It was it was my first time at this restaurant. I was in the mood with a couple friends for a nice relaxing meal. The server eventually came to our table to get our drink order, but by then we were already ready to order our food. I had asked if I could substitute the pasta for vegetables with my salmon order. She brought the salmon and said the vegetables will be coming soon. The three of us end up, eating all of our meals and about every 15 minutes someone would come over and say the vegetables will be here soon. Needless to say they never came and we left. I ended up paying near to $40 for a small piece of what was obviously microwaved frozen then piece of salmon with some iceberg lettuce for a side salad I never did get my vegetables. I had ordered a coffee to drink and of course never got refills so I asked for a cup to go, but was told that they don't have carryout cups for coffee. That's ridiculous. Besides this when I spoke to the manager, she was condescending and the waitress was just plain rude. I've never felt so cheated basically $40 for a thin piece of frozen microwave salmon with terrible service and only one small cup of coffee and no refills I do not recommend this place at all. read more

This is my only negative yelp review. It was that bad. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because they got the order correct and the waitress did her best but everything else was below par. Chicken Parm and Alfredo fettuccine was all over cooked. (Burnt chicken). Like the flavor you get when the campfire goes straight at your face when the wind changes direction. The bread was good and fresh. So that was nice. The brown house salad was a change from the traditional green salad everyone else serves. The soup was served hot but probably because it had been made the day before and on continuous heat until I unfortunately ordered it. If you like calamari don't order it here. Rubber bands dipped into a flavorless batter and paired with red sauce (I'm guessing it was the marinara sauce) will not fail to disappoint. I'm not exaggerating when I say this was the worst Italian food I've ever eaten and I like Taco Bell (so I'm not picky). I paid full price and left a 20% tip because I felt so bad for the waitress who looked trapped in a terrible situation. She asked if everything was good with a look of 'I'm sorry' on her face. She knows what we found out. This is a place you recommend to people that you don't like or In-Laws who are foodies. Seriously though, I wish I had a better experience to write about but this was my first and last time I will be writing about a meal from Bella Sera. They need to write Italy and apologize for calling it an Italian restaurant. read more

Ordered again today for delivery through Favor. I got the pasta sampler that has lasagna, tortellini, ziti and mannicoti and it was SO good. They really have the most delicious, chunky tomato sauce. All the pasta was cooked perfectly. I also got the garlic knots, as usual. I wish they sold a smaller quantity because I always eat too many. This is a HUGE portion of food so be ready to either be really stuffed or to have leftovers. I havent really been able to explore the menu because this pasta sampler is just THAT good. I'll add that I did order mine without the mozzarella on top because they are VERY generous with the cheese and it's just too much for me. It was perfect this way. read more

If you're looking for traditional Italian food this is it. The dining room is clean and spacious with the cutest decor. Our waitress was so sweet, polite, and attentive. I had the Bella Sera Chicken plate and my boyfriend had the Pasta Trio and both were delicious. I can tell the ingredients were fresh and made with love. I was pleasantly surprised at the warmth shown by the hostess at the door. She seated me immediately. I had the Pasta Combo lunch which came with a salad and garlic knots. I would have loved to say I loved my experience since I loved Bella sera at other locations . But I had my worst experience tonight . Apon arriving we were the only people in the restaurant we were made felt like a bother so we asked to do our meals to go . When ordering we were asked what salad we would like that was to come with our meal . Never did our server mention this would be an up charge . We then waited 30 min for our food and were slid cups onto the table for the remains of our drinks not asked if we wanted a refill before we left . When the check arrived we noticed a 9.98 up-charge for salads on our bill . We were very confused so when asking our server he said the salad we chose did not come with our meal , but again never did he let us know this when we were ordering . I would see if it was a small upcharge but this was a 5$ each for each meal . When we arrived home and opened up our food our Alfredo was basically water with noodles , unappetizing and not edible . Just a bit disappointing with the circumstances and being the only people in the restaurant. The chicken piccata was so dry , like it had been reheated or microwaved . The salad ... was a joke , the 5$ up charge I received was a few peices of warm salad with no flavor of ceaser at all . This was a complete rip off of a "Cesar salad " . We pass this restaurant at least twice a day and finally decided to give it a try. They did a nice job with the decor. I wasn't sure that they could transform a burger place to an Italian restaurant, but it was nice. We were very impressed with the food. The fried ravioli appetizer was a great start. The eggplant rollitini was exceptional with its stringy cheese and homemade marinara. I've had lots of marinara in my life, but this was the best. We also tried the veal saltimbocca, which was very tender with a wonderful sauce. It's nice to have an Italian restaurant where the food isn't overly salty and the flavors are more authentic. First off, is not a crap review. The staff is caring thoughtful and welcoming. But I just moved here from Southern California and I have opened up 22 restaurants and trained all the owners and managers and servers bartenders. This place is really cool. Unfortunately my pizza like my dough was like seven days old and the sauce taste like just put tomato like a plain tomato canned sauce on it , no basil no garlic no onion powder no oregano nothing it was plain Jane in the dough is super chewy which means it's old but I'll be back.
