Grilled Lamb Tenderloin
Gina G.

We've been to Bella Siena a few times in Benicia on 1st Street, but most recently we were celebrating a family birthday and traveled to this charming town for a special meal on the water. The restaurant has grown ~ there's an outside space, large interior space, and they just added an additional room on the side of the building that is dedicated to large groups/parties. We called and made reservations ahead, and were seated in their new and spacious room along with other special birthday occasions. The service in this room was excellent, and we had such a nice evening. The sun was setting on arrival, so we shared some nice photos and a round of drinks before ordering apps/dinner. Their cocktail menu is really nice and seasonal drinks too. Special shoutout to their Pineapple Martini and fresh puréed seasonal fruit margaritas. We started with the sautéed prawns, Caesar salad, and calamari fritti. For kiddos they do have high chairs, a special menu, crayons, and sippy cup. For mains our party ordered the chicken parmigiana, marinated grilled teriyaki skirt steak, the pecan crusted pork chop, and a few other choices including the grilled lamb tenderloin too. The pork chop was my favorite ~ juicy, clean meat in a nice port wine reduction. The surprise birthday blackberry sorbet was such a fun hit for post meal also. To note in addition, Bella Siena has a lunch menu featuring paninis like a grilled Kobe beef burger and grilled free range chicken breast. I look forward to coming back soon and enjoying an afternoon or evening here again. Bellissima!

Lamb tenderloin over mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables

The meal felt like a celebration from the very first bite. The appetizers stole the spotlight especially the portobello mushrooms, layered with tangy blue cheese and a rich balsamic reduction, all resting on a bed of warm, velvety polenta. Absolute perfection. The prawns followed close behind, swimming in a luscious lemon-garlic white wine sauce with sautéed spinach comforting and indulgent in every bite. The crab cakes? Pleasant, but easily overshadowed by everything else. The entrées carried the momentum beautifully. The lobster ravioli was decadent and satisfying, while the 16 oz ribeye arrived flawlessly cooked, tender and full of flavor. The lamb loin was equally impressive, served over creamy mashed potatoes with perfectly grilled vegetables that tied it all together. Cocktails were just as memorable the lavender and blood orange martinis were vibrant, refreshing, and elegantly garnished with edible flowers, adding a delicate, fragrant touch. The restaurant buzzed with energy it was one of those warm, golden evenings where everyone seemed to be out enjoying life by the water. And then there was Jordan, our server, who truly elevated the experience. Attentive, witty, and effortlessly charming, he made us feel completely taken care of from start to finish. Set right along the water, the restaurant itself is stunning both in ambiance and experience. It came highly recommended by friends, and now we understand why. Safe to say, we'll be recommending it too.

Stopped by to celebrate a birthday. Easy online reservation was a bonus. Hard to find parking as it was Thursday night Farmers Market, but we parked over one the jetty. Walked in and was seated immediately by the friendly hostess. Restaurant is pretty nice but casual inside. Bay views throughout. Our friendly server came by and took our orders. Started with bruschetta and fried calamari. Calamari had artichoke hearts and green beans. Bruschetta was nice and fresh. Oh, the garlicky oniony oil dip for the bread was really good. Wife got fee pork chop, daughter got the lobster ravioli, and I got the tagliatelle with shrimp. Pasta was nice and fresh. Got a bday sorbet, and chocolate cake. Food and service was good, views are great.

This is definitely one of my favorite spots. I love visiting at least once a month. I'll admit I tend to stick to the same menu items, but it's only because they're so good. My partner usually orders the teriyaki skirt steak, which is a very well-portioned, beautifully presented, tender, and delicious. I typically go for the carpaccio, which is always a treat. The staff is absolutely fantastic. Jordy has become one of our regular bartenders. I don't even need to place my order; she already knows what I want. The ambiance is very elegant and beautiful. It's a great place to watch the sunset over the water.

So cute! Vibes on point. It's a little loud inside and the food is ok. Our server was amazing though.

For the win- get the Coco Special ... Great service , excellent selections and suggestions by Coco - It's a very comfortable place to eat. The bar area is nice and plant of seating inside and out. We were seated rather quickly , and we met by staff after a few minutes . Our appetizer was there in a blink , I really do mean a blink. You won't go wrong with anything that n the menu . Stop by and give it a try

Lobster Ravioli with shrimp

This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. Almost like being in Italy, almost ... I've been here countless times but decided to write a review about the last two times I came. One of the times I brought my niece who is an Italian food lover as well. Crab cakes, carpaccio, superb! Main dishes: rigatoni allá salsiccia, lobster ravioli added shrimp - divine! Drinks: hibiscus martini and a raspberry mojito mocktail. Everything is always amazing. Other favs I did not have this evening are the gnocchi, pork chop, mushroom risotto. The next experience was for an anniversary party! We had the room in the back and it was so cute and put together! The menu was nice and the Staff at Bella Siena made a special moment even more enjoyable. Great place for a party or just a dinner for two!

DUNGENESS CRAB CAKES. 5/5.
Leonora S.

Coco, our server, was wonderful! She was attentive, quick to get our orders, ensured that what we received was to our liking, and topped off our waters! She was super great with my youngest nephew who absolutely adored her and drew her a picture so she would remember him. Anyone that is cool with my nephews is cool with me! This restaurant is a gem in Benicia! It is located near the waterfront so when you make a reservation, ask for a table with a view- you'll see the water, Carquinez Bridge, birds, and the sunset. The bites that I absolutely loved and would go back for are: 1. The complimentary diced sweet onion olive oil dip and house bread. This is complimentary and it was so addicting! Apparently, people will buy mason jars of it for Xmas gifts! 2. The COZZIE & VONGOLE which is oven roasted mussels and manila clams in this super tasty rich garlic tomato white wine sauce! I should've ordered 2! Don't make the same mistake I did by ordering one especially if you're in a big party. 3. The DUNGENESS CRAB CAKES served on top of a light refreshing cucumber, tomato, and red onion relish with a side of sesame soy aioli. Mmmmm! 4. The PECAN CRUSTED PORK CHOP which was cooked perfectly so it retained juiciness that was topped with a port wine reduction sauce which paired well with the creamy polenta and sautéed spinach. 5. Desert?! Don't pass up on the BLACKBERRY SORBET which was not to sweet and so refreshing! Can I order a pint?! 6. Alcoholic drinks are GOOD AND STRONG! For a light refresher you can sip on that has tequila, St. Germain, muddled basil and lime, with grapefruit juice, order the ELDERFLOWER. *Great place to take a date and/ or family! *Chill ambiance. *Great picture opportunities inside and outside of the restaurant to capture an unforgettable experience.

Private room

We celebrated our wedding in the private room and it was great. Food was amazing and really appreciated good service!

Beef skewers over onion rings appetizer

We were seated very quickly on a Sunday for late lunch and got seated by a window with a beautiful view of the bay! The staff were very attentive and professional throughout the entire meal. Appetizers: The skirt steak satay was so juicy and tender, a wonderful contrast to the crispy onion rings below. The beef carpaccio was flavorful and refreshing with the greens on top. The crab cakes were also very crispy with a good amount of crab inside - just what we were hoping for. Mains: They sprinkled fresh parmasan on all our pasta dishes! Spaghetti was actually very meaty in the sauce, which is exactly how my meat-loving dad likes it. The pappardelle was my favorite by far. The seafood was cooked to perfection - not too tough or chewy. The sauce was a shrimp bisque that really made the dish unique, but still had the fresh tomato element that I love in a pasta dish. The pasta itself was fantastic in texture, had a good bite to it and picked up the sauce really well. The mushroom risotto was creamy and yummy! I personally didn't have much of it. Overall, I would highly recommend this beautiful waterfront restaurant! There's a beautiful outside deck as well that looks like it'd be great during the warmer months

Linguine Frutti Di Mare! Seafood pasta!
Arnel A.

Italy in Benicia! One of the best Italian restaurants in the East Bay if not the best! The ambience and location by the water was already inviting. We came here to celebrate my birthday and all the food we got were 5 of 5! I'm not exaggerating at all! Of course we all shared what we all ordered. So glad we did! My favorite was the linguine seafood pasta! The sauce was delicious and wild! Needed more bread to dip into! Lol. The lobster ravioli was amazing as well! Will definitely return to Italy again in Benicia and see Bella Siena! Check it out for casual or special occasions!

Tiki Guava
Christiana S.

Beautiful amazing view of the water and Carquinez bridge from the back room! The mushroom ravioli was delicious and the Tiki guava cocktail was yummy if you like sweet drinks. The calamari was crispy and also came with artichokes which were tasty. My son enjoyed the linguine frutti de mare! It was big enough to share with another person. Coco was our waitress and she was so friendly, sweet and accommodating! I would definitely return back!

Bella Siena is a very nice Italian restaurant in Benicia. The views of the Bay is nice. The decor is modern Italian, with some classic looks. Our server was good for our large party. She was accurate with everyone's order and didn't leave our water glasses empty. The food served was excellent. All the pastas ordered were cooked to perfection. The sauces were on point and the portions were decent. I would recommend giving Bella Siena a try for a nice Italian meal!

My sister and our husbands celebrated our husbands' birthdays at Baxter's Restaurant on Sunday…read moreevening, and it was a wonderful experience. I ordered the sea bass, my husband had the salmon, my sister had a salad, and her husband enjoyed the filet mignon. Every dish was delicious, but the sea bass deserves special recognition. As someone who orders sea bass whenever I can, I've had it in Pismo Beach, Monterey, and San Francisco, and Baxter's has set a new standard. It was incredibly fresh, melt-in-your-mouth tender, with a perfectly crisp sear that locked in all of its delicate flavor. Every bite was moist, flaky, and cooked to perfection. It was honestly the best sea bass I've ever had. The service was warm, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. Combined with the elegant atmosphere and classic white tablecloths, Baxter's was the perfect place to celebrate. We'll definitely be back!

If you're looking for the kind of dinner that makes you want to cancel your other weekend plans…read morejust so you can go back, Baxters is it. Tucked right on First Street across from the bay in downtown Benicia, this place has completely earned its reputation as the town's culinary crown jewel. From the moment you walk in, the warmth is unmistakable -- and it's not an accident. Owners Kenneth Coker and Kevin Shaw built this restaurant to feel like their own living room, and it shows in every detail, right down to the name (a sweet nod to their beloved Fox Terrier). That personal touch translates into genuinely attentive service that never feels stiff or rehearsed. Now, the food. The Beef Wellington is the stuff of legend -- perfectly rendered pastry, a filling that melts before you even chew, and clearly a labor of love from the kitchen. The scallops are seared to that impossible perfection where the outside caramelizes but the inside stays buttery-soft. And if salmon gnocchi in vodka sauce is on the menu when you go, order it without hesitation -- it's rich, comforting, and impossible to stop eating. Even the truffle burger, which almost feels like an afterthought on a menu this elevated, has become a neighborhood obsession for good reason. Cocktails are crafted with the same care as the food -- inventive, well-balanced, and clearly the product of a team that takes its bar program seriously. And if you can snag a reservation in The Speakeasy, the intimate back room, do it. It's easily one of the most romantic, memorable settings for a special occasion in the entire Bay Area. Baxters isn't just a great restaurant -- it's a genuine gathering place, the kind of spot a whole town falls in love with. Whether it's date night, a family celebration, or just a nightcap at the bar, Baxters delivers an experience that's warm, delicious, and utterly memorable every single time. Highly, highly recommended.

The menu selections were broad enough to be interesting, but not so deep that it felt overwhelming…read more I created a tasting, taking it slow, and enjoyed each of my selections. Starting with the Mt. Beautiful Estate Sauvignon Blanc, found this good. It's good, but not great. It's a decent wine but I think there are other more interesting Australian wines out there. The Rabble Rosé from Paso Robles was crisp with just an edge of tart. Like roasted strawberries, if that makes sense. And the Seaglass Riesling from the central coast is now a fave. It's a sweeter wine and a good end to a tasting, for sure. Glad I explored that one. It far exceeded my expectations. The vibe is good. The team is wonderful, caring and attentive, even if their internet went down and they weren't able to process cards quickly.
