Enjoyed a family dinner at this wonderful Italian restaurant. Our server was wonderful! She regularly visited our table and made sure all of our needs were addressed. The night we chose to go, it was raining hard. I was surprised to see the restaurant was full when we arrived. We had made a reservation (which I recommend for dinner) and our table was waiting when we arrived. The ambiance was great. Not too loud as some restaurants can be. I started with a Caesar salad that is the best I've had in Solano Co. I love that they cut up the romaine lettuce into bite size pieces so I didn't have to! They layered it with a delicious Caesar dressing and Asiago cheese. They even added a couple slices of anchovies and then a generous amount of (requested) fresh ground pepper. I would go back for this salad alone. My main course was from the "specials" of the day. It was a blackened Chilean sea bass served with garlic mashed potatoes on top of a bed of Bok Choy. This meal was tasty but I would have preferred it to be better seasoned with the blackened seasoning. It was a little "light flavored" for my taste buds. I couldn't taste the garlic in the mashed potatoes and there was a "gravy" on the plate which was odd since they were supposed to be "garlic mashed potatoes". Honestly, I think they were just mashed potatoes with gravy. They were good, just not garlicky. The Bok Choy was tasty and cooked well. For dessert, I had the salted caramel gelato ice cream. I love gelato because it is creamy and full flavored. This did not disappoint. It was delicious to the last spoonful! Overall, I really enjoyed the meal. The disappointment of not having garlic mashed potatoes was minor. read more

Pretty good food, but mediocre service. The host who sat us had a great personality but real hospitality stopped at the door. Our server was efficient as far as getting orders quick and getting food and drinks to the table quickly but he was honestly rude and short with us. I didn't feel very welcome which ruined the ambience of the gorgeous restaurant. The food is good, but not as good as past reviews I had read so that was slightly disappointing. After a month of planning this date night, my husband and I had reservations here. And they did not disappoint. We had reservations at 6pm, and unfortunately didn't get seated till about 20-25 minutes later. We were hungry and we only had our baby sitter till 8! Luckily tho, she was able to stay an extra 30 minutes. The hostesses were super nice and ensured us that our table was almost ready. Once seated, our waitress Genesis was THE BOMB DOT COM. She was super attentive and always made sure my husband and I were doing okay. The food.... we started off with the Siena Sampler, MUST TRY THIS. It's a little bit of everything and my husband and I enjoyed it! I had the penne con pollo, but I wanted to try EVERYTHING ON THEIR MENU at this point because it was so good. The sundries tomatoes, the chicken - everything. My husband had the Australian Filet Mignon, and that was cook to perfection. MELT IN YOUR MOUTH PERFECTION. It was accompanied with garlic mash potatoes & asparagus. SO GOOD. We ended the night with Tiramisu and..... so light so good. My mouth is watering as I write this. This place is too cute for life. I've literally barely ever heard of Benicia, sorry for my super big bias toward everything between San Francisco and San Jose. So sitting down to dinner with a Bay view (I think? Oh god) I've never seen before was so sweet and fun. Came with my boyf and his parents -- we shared the carpaccio to start and YUM. Really anything with capers is a big yes from me so. I ordered the papardelle alla zafferano for my main dish and it was really nice. The shrimp bisque sauce in particular was really delish. My boyf got the veal and the veal itself was killer -- really thin and tender and great flavor. We got lavender and orange creme brulee for dessert and YUM! I drank the ginger bell which tbh didn't love but I think that was on me for having a low alcohol tolerance rather than on the drink itself. Very much like this restaurant, great customer service, food is delicious and drinks. Love the view and I highly recommend, however, the noise inside the restaurant is unbearable, you can't have a conversation without having to shout to the person sitting in front of you, please do something to cut the noise and have a nice peaceful lunch or dinner, meantime will not be going back until this is fixed and this might be good for those that do not do any talking, just eat and look at your phones. read more

We had our 10 year vow renewal celebration. It was very intimate. We requested the water views inside. Also I had a simple boho set up decor. It was beautiful! I loved it. The team was very nice. I love the food and drinks here. If I could change anything, I would limit the sitting time. We once waited 30 minutes beyond our reservation to be seated. The reason being that some customers decided to hang out at their table after dinner. So arriving customers with reservations have to suck it up and wait. Bella Siena is wonderful. The service is excellent and the food is innovative but authentic. The location is perfect for meeting friends of associates from the Bay Area if one lives in the Sacramento area. I have had several dishes on the menu including a rich lobster ravioli and a couple of the salads. Their soups are rich and varied. I have been there for both lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed. The wine list compliments the cuisine and is reasonably priced. read more

Saturday Night Dinner Review: The joint was jumpin' this night, business brisk. It's gotta great ambiance. Food good. Service just OK, but not stellar due to the high occupancy. Plan on spending a minimum of $25 pp for a meal not including tax, tip or drinks. Busy bar scene. Looks to be one of the newest spots to see and be seen in small town Benicia. Female Maitre D' (Liz?) came around to check up on us, a nice touch. Only (minor) knocks would be the noise level. Impossible to hold an intimate or serious convo here. And no parking lot associated with the restaurant. So it's either street parking off busy 1st St., the Marina gravel across the way, or sneaking a spot at another nearby private lot. Decent meal: Appetizer: calamari with fried green beans and artichoke heart served with aioli sauce Main dish: 1) skirt steak and 2) veal piccata. The veal piccata was lathered in caper lemon sauce and melted in one's mouth with each tasty morsel! Served on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes and greens, I would easily order again, but I'm eager to try other main dish items. Dessert: vanilla sundae gets high marks! Great spot for date night with an incredible view of the bay and bridge. I had the lobster ravioli which was a special for the night and my better half had the veal which he has been talking about all week. There aren't a lot of places that offer veal but he was so pleased with the flavor and tenderness of the meat. We also had the calamari as an appetizer and they gave us bread and a dip that was so good we had to ask for more. Anthony was a wonderful server - very attentive and kind. We will definitely be back and look forward to trying more items on the menu. As I write this my better half is over my shoulder telling me to mention how he can't wait to try the lamb. This place is such a gem!!!! My partner and I tried it for the first time this past Tuesday, which happened to be the Fourth of July. We weren't sure what to expect but it was pretty packed, luckily we had made a reservation. We sat outside and it was beautiful, right on the water. Great night, amazing service!!!! My husband and I had a wonderful dinner for a much needed night out. The food was very good! Our Waitress, Hannah, made our night even more enjoyable. She was so good at keeping us happy! She made us feel so comfortable during our dinner. Her desert recommendation topped off a great night! Get the bread pudding, with ice cream of course!!! What can I say? Was it good? Nah. Is there better Italian food food in the Bay Area? Absolutely. Will I come back? Continuous checking up on us and was always there when we were looking for him. The interior and ambiance was definitely the romantic, expensive vibe, but the price wasn't bad at all. We came in thinking we were way too underdressed for a restaurant like this, but the service made us feel welcomed and un judged. Now, to the food. I ordered the mushroom ravioli and my lady ordered the spaghetti with meatballs. It was really bland for some reason. I don't know what it was, but it honestly had no flavor. My dish tasted like cream and the spaghetti was one step away from ragu. I hope when we come back, we'll have a different impression on the food. As of now, I'll stick with the 3 stars in hopes they earn the 5 stars on my next visit. read more
