The quality of service has deteriorated over the years. I've been a patient for +3 years. What went wrong in my last visit: 1. The nurse started numbing a wrong side. I told her my issue is on the right side, she started numbing left side. When I told her it was wrong, she said "that's what we are working on today". Then she said that I was "overthinking" about the fact that the right side was bothering me. 2. After 1 hour, I finally got an x-ray and the doctor started working on my issue. He was walking back and forth between patients and the nurse was doing most of the work. Somehow, they put too much filling on my tooth and there was no gap between the teeth they worked on. 3. The filling was too high. The doctor checked it only once and was busy fixing the gap issue. And then, he just left! Yep, I think he was done for the day and just walked out without even saying anything. He never asked if the filling felt ok. 4. I called next day to have the filling adjusted, they told me they can fit me in his schedule as soon as 10 days later. The filling adjustment should take 5-10 minutes. Why do I need to suffer for 2 weeks when it was supposed to be done right to begin with? Needless to say, I already found a new dentist with better reviews. I suggest people start looking elsewhere too. Bella Smiles take their regular patients for granted. read more

I had a consultation here earlier this year for gum contouring and veneers. Dr. Casey who did the consult was very nice but the office staff were too incompetent to follow though so I could book the procedure. I really needed to see some before and after photos of the contouring and was promised several times after my consultation that they would send something but they never did. After reaching out several times over the next week I was finally sent a curt message saying they actually didn't have any before and after photos at all which i thought was strange. I ended up having the procedure done elsewhere for much less with amazing results. Bella Smiles is extremely expensive. Their prices for cosmetic dentistry have risen a lot over the past few years as the price I was quoted for veneers was much more than what a few friends have paid in the past. Lastly, they were offering fresh coconuts in the waiting room but only in exchange for a good review so I feel like a lot of their ratings aren't genuine. I've been hesitant to post this review but my experience still really bothers me when I think about it. I should have listened to my gut because my first appointment should have been an indication to how they run their establishment. After sending my insurance info to the office days before I arrived for my 7 am appointment and the front desk girl told me they had to wait for authorization which was slightly annoying because I thought they had handled that. I was also confused because I made the app THROUGH my insurance website so duh they take my insurance. I told her I'll roll the dice and pay out of pocket if they don't accept because it was coming on 30 minutes past my appointment and I have only one weekday off a week so I had other appointments to make it to. The girl working behind the desk TOOK my xrays which was odd because I don't think she has medical training. The hygienist Andy did a phenomenal job so I was relieved thinking maybe my first impression was wrong but then Dr Chawla came in to assess. He barely spoke to me, didn't talk to me about my goals for my teeth, and then just left. It was cold and slightly unprofessional. I opted to do the fillings he recommended and scheduled my next app. This was were I made a huge mistake!!! The fillings went okay. He barely talked to me. Like two words maybe. After he was finished I felt my bite was off but he brushed me off and told me to wait until the numbness wore off. As soon as it wore off I knew my bite was wrong. I was leaving on a month long trip to Europe and went back in and he fixed it. After the month long trip I was on, I was slowly getting discomfort again and started to think maybe it was still off. I scheduled for my next app for more fillings on the top part of my mouth directly above the first fillings and by the time it was my appointment date I was in severe pain and couldn't eat dinner or breakfast before my app. During the fillings I felt extreme pain when they were working on me and when the assistant told Chawla he scolded me for not eating and was very rude and injected me with more numbing solution (the pain I felt was in my palate where they never administered anything so I don't know why he was so rude about it!) the final result was sharp pointed teeth that were so obviously different than how they looked originally. I also started crying because the pain was so intense and I had been up all night and now this dentist basically shamed me and yelled at me. Borderline ABUSIVE! When I went for a cleaning after that I complained to the hygienists and she agreed they were sharp and looked off. I mentioned it to Dr Chow because I refused to see dr. chawla after how he disrespected me and yelled at me. I mentioned these teeth to everyone i came in contact with at the office and I even called the front desk about it and told them it was rubbing on my lip and making it sore. When I tried to get a refund because I clearly needed to get these teeth fixed by someone else they acted like I never mentioned the issue to anyone. I was met with multiple people very defensively and even pointed out that Dr chawla lied on his notes regarding my treatment and stated that I tolerated the treatment well and was satisfied. Blatant lie. He never even talked to me and I clearly did not tolerate it well! He had to scold me in the middle of it so how could he write that! They refused to refund me the amount I paid and basically refused to help me and told me I was not welcome anymore. Very shocking behavior but it seemed like they were well prepared defensively for situations like this so it must be a common thing. Their reason for not refunding me the money was because I didn't want them to do xrays again but why would I charge my insurance again and use up the little coverage I had left when they did xrays everytime I came in on those teeth. Why more xrays?? Very shady!! It's been almost two years since I've been there and EVERY SINGLE tooth they 'fixed' HURTS!! And my teeth are still pointy. I've been so scared to go to another dentist because these experiences traumatized me and amplified my anxiety. If anyone reading this knows a good dentist please PM me. Thanks. Oh and Dr. Chow had to cancel his app with me once because his flight got 'delayed'. He was actually popping bottles in Ibiza the night before (he posted it all over Instagram) so thank god it got delayed or I would have had a super hungover jet lagged party boy working on my teeth. Update: Still loving this place with special thanks to Andi. She goes above and beyond! Today, I had to have a tooth extracted because it got infected. Andi is usually my hygienist, but she saw me come in, and she actually came over and numbed me up because she knows I'm comfortable with her. How amazing is that?? We made small talk to ease any nervousness, and she was an expert at numbing me up without any pain. Amazing Andi as we nicknamed her today! I absolutely adore her, and she makes coming to Bella Smiles so worthwhile. Give this woman a raise, please. Dr. Chow always has a great bedside manner and I'm super thankful for that. The extraction took a bit longer because I needed a bone graft, but it was done as quickly and comfortably as possible. Dr. Chow was amazing. His front office staff was very welcoming and made my check in process seamless. I went in for a typical cleaning, but after chatting it up my hygienist she recommended teeth whitening. I gave into this recommendation and I got the in office whitening procedure. I was so impressed with the immediate results. I was also able to get the take home syringes after they molded my teeth for them & they are literally LIFE ! So easy to do & I've gotten so many compliments on how white my teeth are. Before going into his office I never really knew anything about veneers. After a couple office visits I finally inquired about them as my friend just got them done by him and I was speechless when I saw the difference they made! When I went back into his office to inquire/consult about getting veneers, Dr. Chow broke down this intricate and meticulous process to me in a way that I could understand. Just got my teeth cleaned and now they feel so much better. I hate getting my teeth cleaned, but this office is so cozy, it made everything that much easier! Very nicely decorated and the chairs are so comfortable, they have to be memory foam. They gave me a treatment plan for my next visits, and gave a referral to get my wisdom teeth pulled. I was really excited from their reviews so I made an appointment for Invisalign and veneer consultation. I arrived on time yet waited over 45 minutes to be seen. I thought this was ironic after they had confirmed my appointment multiple times. If you are running an hour behind schedule, return the favor and let your clients know. When I was finally seen I told the assistant I didn't have much time since I had been waiting so long. The doctor finally came in for the consultation. The entire time he stood directly behind me discussing his recommendations (I was stuck in the chair and could hardly turn around to talk to him) he never bothered to talk face to face let alone make eye contact. Said he would run some numbers on what my plan would cost. I waited and was presented with a $15,000 plan. I expected to pay that much or more. What I didn't anticipate was the lack of professionalism and care for new clients. Not even to mention the room they had me in was a disaster. Complete clutter with equipment and cleaning supplies filling the sink and counters and the cupboards couldn't even shut. The room appeared dirty and made me feel uncomfortable. My first appt. went well. X-rays, cleaning, dds visit. Told him I'd like to have a filling re-done so that a dark spot that was showing through from a previous correction (not done by them) in a filling was gone. No dark spot, just white to match the cap/tooth. He tried, the color was the same. No big deal, he said he was going to look into getting a more opaque color and he'd get back to me. Great. A few weeks goes by... I call to see if the new color came in. The front office knows nothing about it. I said, ask the DDS, he said he was going to look into it. From them on it went down hill. Numerous phone calls to the front desk all of which were zero help. Some of the comments I received were, The DDS doesn't order, we do! So I said, well can you ask him what it is to order... They said there is no record of there being a problem... I said, can you ask the DDS.... They said he's too busy and he can't remember everybody. I said did you ask him... They said the only way they can correct this is IF i come in again. I said there is no sense me coming in if the product hasn't been ordered... I pleaded with these people to speak with the DDS... Ofc. mgr now on the phone, THE ONLY WAY IS FOR ME TO COME IN. I set the appt. to come in. Sign in. Sit. I see the ofc mgr lean over to the receptionist. Whisper whisper... You know when you know you're being talked about? So I Say out loud from my seat. "REALLY, this is how it's going to go! WOW!." Ofc mgr leaves. Hmmmm Go into the examining room. DDS comes in. His body language says he's upset. First thing out of his mouth is "I really think you're obsessing over this". OMG, my mouth dropped to the floor. I said, how am I obsessing? YOU said you were going to look into a more opaque color to cover the dark. I was just asking your staff if the color came in... Never was I rude. He then apologized. Said he'll give me a refund. Walked me up front, told the receptionist to also give some other compensation as well. He leaves for a brief moment, comes back and said he could order the color. Wait, WHAT!!! I just laugh and said no thanks, I'm done. In my opinion the breakdown was in the hands of the ofc. mgr. Could the DDS have had better communication with his staff? Yes. But the ofc. mgr. would not listen or do her job. A good mgr. would have known how to handle this situation and not make it into a bigger situation. ALL COULD'VE EASILY BEEN AVOIDED! read more

First of all, if you're a new patient, don't bother going to the website to fill out the New Patient Paperwork. I spent 15 minutes completing it, hit Submit at the bottom of the form, and when I got to the office the front desk said they hadn't received it. The only thing I despise more than repeating my efforts is wasting time, and I got to do both. Yay, me. When I made the appointment, I told them that I wanted my cleaning to be hand scaled, not done with their machine. I was told that I'd be able to discuss that with the hygienist when I got there, but that they were making a note. When I got there, the hygienist didn't know anything about my request. Strike Two. The worst thing (and what inspired me write this review) was the hygienist's refusal to clean my teeth. I've had gum recession for years, and had to get graphs at one point. When it became clear that I wasn't going to accept her up sells for laser cleaning, fluoride treatment, and periodontal maintenance cleaning (all of which were either not or only partially covered by insurance), the hygienist said that she couldn't "ethically" give my teeth a standard (that is, insurance-covered) cleaning. She gave me a rambling explanation that included possibly losing her license and that I "must have been lucky" that no other practice has ever in my life refused to clean my teeth. Whatever. I moved here from SoCal 3 years ago and spent the first year or so with a hygienist who was perfect, who quit the practice to work with her husband in his business. Since then, I haven't been able to find a dentist in Las Vegas. Instead I get attempts at up sells - one hygienist tried to sell me a night guard even though I told her that when I was a kid my teeth had been ground by a dentist who said my bite was uneven, and when I told her no she dropped the price and offered again. Maybe I shouldn't be surprised. Everyone in this town seems to have their hand out - tip jars where all they do is hand you your food across the counter are so common that I barely notice them. But going as far as to refuse health care; that's a new one on me. read more

Amber is sooo friendly and welcoming. She did a great job explaining everything that they were doing and listening to what I had to say.
