We were comfortably seated while watching the FIFA games, doing plenty of people watching & experiencing first hand the vibrance of guttenberg downtown! Think mini NYC We ordered the Linguine Fruitti Di Mare pasta & the Tropical Pizza . Couldn't have been happier! The pasta was rightly spiced, rightly sauced, rightly textured while the pizza was light & airy, just right amount of sauce, cheese and toppings! They treated us to a free dessert & we went with the chocolate mousse (think a multi-layered layered cholate cake) which was beyond perfection! They brought us champagne flutes (not wine glasses), as we had a bottle of prosecco to celebrate the special occasion Service was better than white-glove!!! Staff refilled our flutes before we realized, brought warm bread to the table without us asking for it, didn't charge us for the dessert without us even remotely suggesting it! The food here is so deliciously Italian that you expect to hear "Benvenuto amico mio" upon entering this establishment. The staff is friendly, accommodating and menu knowledgeable. The owner/chef Patrick regularly makes his way to the dining area to make sure his guests are satisfied, happy and comfortable. The music is pleasantly appropriate and at volume that permits conversation with your party without yelling. Very few quality Italian cuisine restaurants in North Bergen area and even less that can be as consistently superb as Bella Trattoria. This place is amazing. This past weekend was my mom's 70th birthday. They hosted our family dinner of 23 people. The restaurant is cozy and inviting. We were able to go earlier to decorate with balloons a bit. Patrick, the owner, created a Prix Fix Lunch menu. It was well priced and had plenty of options for the guests. It's BYOB so we brought a bunch of wine. The service and attention was exceptional. Would constantly check if we were in need of anything. They also took pictures for us. They continued filling wine and water glasses. They cut the cake for us. The food was delicious. We started off with garlic bread and calamari. The penne vodka, Bolognese, chicken Parm, and chicken francese were very good. And these are just the ones I tried. Everyone loved the restaurant and had a great time. I will definitely be coming back. As I'm sure others from the family will too. And will definitely think of them if I have other events to put together. Perfection is the best way to describe Bella. Stumbled on this gem while traveling to the area for a funeral. The food is amazing, layered balanced flavors, adequate portions, great price (BYOB) Don't miss the soup (pasta fagioli and minestrone were a meal in themselves), but don't stop there. Try the lasagna, pollo Marsala, rigatoni bolognese - all three are winners. Finish it off with house made tiramisu (no sugar) and carrot cake. It was evident when we returned with 20 people in tow after the service a hidden gem had been found by two Texans. Everyone raved about the food and the atmosphere was soon filled with storytelling, memories and laughter. There are few times while dining you get to experience the passion of the owner, it is reflected in every dish he served. Love love love this place! The owner and the staff were amazing and professional and they are always making sure your drinks are topped off. From the appetizers to the desserts (which the owner makes it fresh) to the pizza we took home, it's probably one of the best spots we've visited in a long time. The owner will tell you that he owned a restaurant for 25+ years and had to close due to CoVid and had to relocate. He'll tell you his patrons from his Times Square location will make the drive to Jersey for his food. When you have this type of ownership and relationship with your patrons, you know the place will be amazing. They do have daily lunch specials and on the weekends it's BYOB brunch style. Came in on a Saturday night and the place was a little empty. The pizza was excellent. Crust was perfect and it had the right amount of cheese. The waiters were very attentive and kept checking on us. The inside is nicely decorated and they have classic Italian music playing. Bella is located just north of the West New York border in Guttenburg,NJ. We had only heard about it recently and off we went on a Thursday evening. Right from the beginning, the service was excellent and a very relaxed atmosphere. We started with the calamari fritti, which was different from all the others I've eaten. The chef slices them very thin and the result is a very crispy calamari. Delicious! Along with the calamari, we shared the caprese salad, which had juicy slices of tomato, topped with fresh mozzarella (which is made in house every day), basil and olives. Very refreshing! For the main entree, my wife had the chicken picatta and I had the chicken Marsala. For both dishes the chicken was tender and perfectly cooked. The flavors were amazing! Both entrees came with broccoli and tasty, roasted potatoes. For dessert, we shared tiramisu, which was a very unique version, also made fresh in house. It's a much lighter version with more emphasis on the lady fingers and also a nice chocolate flavor. We ended the evening with an espresso, which was perfect. They also serve breakfast and lunch. The pricing is very reasonable and they accept credit cards and AMEX. It is BYOB, so bring your favorite wine with you. Worst experience I have ever had. Placed two orders first one was cancelled and second one never arrived!!! Delivery driver said it was delivered but it was never delivered, they said to check outside but who leaves pizza outside anyway???! Didn't ring the bell or even call the phone number. He had 2 eggs sunny side with sausage and potatoes. Sunny side eggs were cooked perfectly and great for dipping his toast. Sausage cooked perfect and the potatoes.. "he asked for seconds" ! My wife had the pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausage. The pancakes were so fluffy and buttery !!! She's so picky and she was like wow ! Does have powdered sugar on top. She rated 7 out of 10 because she didn't like the orange juice and she's a big OJ person! I had the Italian Omelette with bacon and potatoes. The omelette was not dry and the bacon was sooooo goood ! It didn't come with the meal. I ordered it on the side. But totally WORTH IT !!! Our service was amazing. She was pleasant and bussed our plates at the right time and kind ! Flew into NJ for a funeral and found this place close to us and based off of ratings. Being from Texas we wanted to find some great Italian food, and we scored big. We went in and was seated by the owner, Patrick. He brought out our soup and entree fast and piping hot. Best Italian food I have ever had in my 52 years. He even let us try his scratch made, sugar free, tiramisu. The food was so over the top good my guest and I told him we would be back the next day (we were on a 2 day trip). At the funeral we asked the local family if they knew of this place and they did not. We ended up filling up his place with the entire family. Once again Patrick knocked the ball out of the park. He served our entire party in a very timely manner and even took photos with us before we left. If you are ever in the area this is a must place to eat.
