6/30/23 Bellarie bar, is a great little small town spot. They make out of towners feel welcome and the locals were nice. Just an easy going spot to grab a beer. We got the silver dollar mushrooms, and these were excellent snack, really filling and tasty with some good ranch for dipping. The menu is pretty good and the burger sounded great but next time. If you're in Bellaire slow down and stop in then relax and enjoy a cold beer. read more

The food at the breakfast buffet on Sunday on Sunday morning is fantastic. An incredible variety of egg dishes, sausage, ham, bacon, biscuits and gravy quiche and Hash-browns, corn, beef hash, and more. Please don't ever change! I love this neighborhood bar and grill so much. The BEST olive burgers around. (No frozen Cisco patties here, just fresh, hand made burgers!) I love that they have kept the old signs and it still seems like your best local bar. I do wish they would've kept the pool table, but it's still my favorite after all these years. read more

We are from out of town and one of the kids wanted a burger, so we stopped in and gave the bar a try. Overall, the food was good. Typical bar food, but staff was nice, food was out quick and hot, and we are headed home with left overs due to the size. I'd absolutely eat here again if we are in the area. Service was not good. We walked in, waited maybe 10 minutes, had multiple workers just look at us and not even come help us. Watched them help a couple that walked in the door way after us and put them in the only empty table. We finally sit at the bar and she didn't even give us menus so we had to find it on our phones. Food was good. I had the chicken sandwich, bf had the Reuben, he enjoyed it. Ambiance was old and grungy but it was still cute. This little gem is an easily misunderstood restaurant front when seen from the outside. There isn't much to it, but when you walk in, you will find a charming local establishment where everybody knows your name. We found the service to be prompt, attentive and friendly. The food was hearty and filling. The cost was comparable to the quantity of food. One very interesting little detail of the restaurant is the fan system. What a great little hole in the wall! On the way back from Traverse City, my family, friends, and I stopped by this gem as a second choice..literally because Short's was booked until well past when we wanted to leave. This is a bar. They say restaurant because they serve food, but straight up: this is a bar. Everyone seems to know everyone and the service was quick. The food was plentiful. The beer kept on coming and the price was very reasonable. I will absolutely stop by here on the way home next time. read more

Stopped in on a Saturday evening with a group of 6. Still plenty of open seats for us to choose from. Service was great the entire time, even when the place got packed. Our server worked her butt off! Always had a drink in our hands and food came out quickly. Apps: mozzarella sticks, fried mushrooms, fried pickles- all classic bar food. Fried pickles were awesome! We love the Bellaire Bar! They have stepped up their game and the inside renovations and décor look great. Usually while we are up north at Torch Lake we make it a priority to stop into the Bellaire Bar at least once during our trip. They have excellent burgers & bar food (Ice Cold beer too!) If your looking to nurse your hangover, the BB just might be your place! Have passed this place many times over the years, but never gave it a shot. Be smarter...give it a shot! Wait staff was super friendly, food was just what the doctor ordered. The bar selection looked great although I have to admit it was more of a coke and water day for me ;-). Could spend the whole day in the BB and not realize the sun went down. I can see how time might just slip by in a place like this! Good food - great burgers. Not overly priced. Friendly staff. A few local brews on tap which is already great to support local breweries.

The food was very enjoyable. Portions were filling and the fries were great! Our server Megan was really wonderful. There was even a mistake with one of the meals and she immediately corrected it. We even accidentally left a pair of shades and she had them waiting behind the bar for us when we returned an hour later. She was hard working and polite. Would definitely come here again. This place has certainly stepped up its appearance after renovating the inside and adding in a new bar with some different style seating using a couple of booths rather than just free standing tables with chairs and bar stools. The Friday Fish Fry continues to be a hit here and of course cold beer is always flowing. There are typically specials each night of the week and you can usually find some good service here as well. Some of my favorite plates here are: perch sandwich, taco salad, burrito, nachos, and of course the burgers (western is delicious). On occasions when there is a massive influx of people in Bellaire though, the service can be slow. If you're into the bar scene and looking for some food and drinks, go check it out. read more

Food-Very good Service-Great Wait time-little long This was a really good restaurant. It was packed when we got there at about 6:30 on a Sunday night. We got a table because someone else was leaving. The server was fast and nice and we all got started with drinks. We ordered, perch for me and walleye for the hubs. The waitress came out to tell us the kitchen was backed up. We told her that was okay since there really was no other option at that point! It was nearly a 45 minute wait for food. Not sure how this place has good reviews. The chicken wings were spongey and thickly breaded. Even after I asked them to be coked well done. The nachos were not melted, the chicken. I loved this place! After a long day of fishing we were arriving back to town around 9:45. Our options for dinner at that time were Lulu's, Short's, and Bellaire Bar. Lulu's seemed too fancy for just having been fishing and my husband exclaimed that he was done with Short's (already ate there three other times that week). Well we didn't catch much walleye on the lake but boy-oh-boy their walleye dinner hit the spot! The salad to start had fresh lettuce and veggies. The two fillets were HUGE and could possibly be split. I loved that I could have asparagus as my side. We started with chicken wings. He's usually disappointed when I want medium instead of hot but their medium had a perfect kick to it. Not too hot for me but not too boring for him. They were delicious! Their drink options are sure to please everyone. They had a good selection of beers of tap and in bottles, as well as plenty of liquor for mixed drinks. Stumbled into this place to watch Game 4 of the Wings/Blackhawks series. Service was a tad slow, but they were slammed so it was reasonable that they weren't super quick. The entire place was full and everyone was really into the game. It was a great experience (as this was the game the wings took a 3-1 lead in the series). The beer was super cheap. The crowd was a mix of locals and tourists alike. Just overall a good time...but definitely a no frills experience. The atmosphere has you wondering if you're in a diner or a sports bar. Thursday night. Came in for a drink and dinner. Clean place. Polite but indifferent staff. .. suspect you have to be a local. Ordered sampler platter, party melt and chicken tenders between the wife and I. Sampler platter didn't come as ordered. Burger while tasty and as ordered was lukewarm. Chicken tenders were hot. Bartender was friendly... Other staff seemed occupied. They were busy. Not sure if we'll be back. Just seemed average, nothing great. read more

This bar is amazing. It's small town vibe and great food is a fabulous combination. I'm happy they are still surviving the pandemic. The place is usually packed. One thing I will add that is a little of a bummer was to see who I think is the owner and one of the staff taking shots behind the bar on more than one occasion. Hate to see this great place comprised and possibly go downhill at some point due to owner neglect because of drinking. It just didn't look professional. My brother's girlfriend's family has a cottage up here and the hubs and I make it up here once a year now. I enjoy our meal the we have here My brother and I both have celiac and although there are no gluten free buns, they always wrap our burger in lettuce for us.
