Visit quickly because I believe it ends on March 9th. Having received literally one of the last donuts of the weekend I could not have been more thrilled. I didn't even get a complete donut - they had run out of the Bavarian cream filling. But the donut was light, yeasty, and delicious. The chocolate frosting was so rich! I cannot wait to get there even earlier next weekend! Also, as someone that gets starstruck a little too easily it was really awesome to see Stephanie in person slinging her donuts. I wish her nothing but the best - well and quick funding for her own brick and mortar.

We went to a soup dumpling class today and had SO MUCH fun learning how soup dumplings are made and learning how to make simple Mei Mei folds and more complicated pleat folds. And then we got to enjoy the fruits of our labor with some lovely mocktails. Delicious! I highly recommend this class. Agnes was a great teacher and both patient and fun. If you can't make it a class, look for their dumplings at your local farmers market or go to their store. I like the classic pork and ginger best, but they also make some more unusual flavors and both veggie and vegan options

Tickets were a little over $30 and you get to eat a variety of dumplings to your heart's content. There was a delicious pickled cabbage side, salad, crunchy onion, and sauces. Drinks available for purchase. They even let us take some of the leftover dumplings at the end of the event. It's a small space so it was a little snug but honestly the vibes among the people there were great. This was an awesome way to eat great food and catch up with friends while supporting a small business. Highly recommend their bottomless dumpling event as well as their frozen dumplings.

AHI TUNA BOWL - $28 This was one of the most disappointing…read moredishes I've had in a long time. The "togarashi-crusted" tuna was not crusted at all--completely bland, with no seasoning or flavor. It tasted like it had been frozen, thawed, and simply dropped into the bowl. The rest of the ingredients were just as underwhelming. Everything was placed in separate, unappealing mounds around the bowl: a pile of tasteless sushi rice with a few sesame seeds, hard and underripe avocados chunks, unseasoned raw shredded carrots, smashed vinegar cucumbers with no trace of cilantro and beside that were the overpowering pickled red onions. To make matters worse, it all sat awkwardly on top of a mayonnaise ginger-soy aioli that did nothing to bring the dish together. There was no balance, no cohesion, and absolutely no flavor. It looked unappetizing and tasted even worse. I barely touched it. The server never asked why, and even if she had, I was with coworkers and wouldn't have felt comfortable saying how bad it was. For $28, this was unacceptable. Honestly, it felt like something a child threw together--bland, poorly executed, and completely lacking care. Would not order again.
